I was surfing through the several tutorial videos on crocheting when I came upon yours. I listened to one of your videos patiently and realised you are very thorough in your teachings. Your voice is very calming and not at all intimidating. I rewound this video and by this time, I felt confident I can try to crochet this pattern. I watch a ton of crochet creators, but I keep returning to yours. My first large project was your neptune circular blanket using a Caron anniversary cake. I finished it up as a gift to my hubby and found he didn't like it as a circle, wanted a rectangle instead, LOL... So, I watched a ton of granny square tutorials to figure out how they transform circles into squares, did the math for my 324 stitch circle and transformed it to a square then added rows at each end and finished with a border. He's now happy, LOL. This, will be my next project. I'll have many this year. Each family member will be getting a throw/afghan/blanket, each of a different design - that's 11, yes, 11. I'd better get to work. I'll need to average one every 3 weeks to complete them on time for Christmas.
So excited to try this pattern. I’m also happy to see someone else holds their crochet hook like I do! Thank you for sharing.
That's how I hold mine, and my mom who taught me held hers that way, too. I tried the other way, just to see if I could, But was too awkward for me.

The people who are so generous with their amazing designs and are so incredibly kind and willing to spend their time teaching and encouraging beginners!!! I so appreciate it, especially because I’m basically learning how to crochet by watching these type of videos. My Grandma did teach me some of the basics, enough to make an Afghan and a baby blanket and some wash clothes. And many many years ( maybe even a decade😳)passed without picking up a single hook, until just this February and I’ve had to relearn the basic and star to take on projects I never would imagine I could do!!

I bought your pattern, and I’m starting it now. I’ve been crocheting for over 30 years and this blanket is two firsts for me...I’ve never done a chevron pattern, and I’ve never made a virus anything. I saw this, and had to put it on my list! I’m waiting on the next part for a crochet along I’m doing, so I thought, why not start it now!!! I’m going a little crazy (for me) on colors, and I’m using Caron Simply Soft, which I realize is on the smaller size of a 4 weight....I’m using hot pink (watermelon) and a dark purple (I think). Thanks so much for this pattern!!! I love it!
