For years I have stuck to granny squares and was getting a little bored. I saw the written pattern but was really intimidated by it and couldn't get it at all. I watched your video and felt confident enough to have a go at this today. You make it so simple. I have mastered it to the end and it has clicked in my brain! Thank you so much.

Excellent video. I started a rectangular virus afghan some time back. I was reading the pattern and eventually, just set it aside. It was turning out, it was just puckery. I’ve looked at some other tutorials on you tube and some comments say the instructions are wrong and they have had to undo their work after following the tutorial. I think it’s a credit to you that your followers trust you an invest a lot of time following your instructions and creating some beautiful and worthwhile projects. I appreciate your professionalism and you are my go to person. Credit where it’s due

I tried to make the virus shawl by using the pattern but then had a hard time understanding it. So I decided to watch the video and I'm so glad I did. I only have a few rounds made but my virus shawl is coming right along. I'll be doing a little more each day. That way I can keep up with knitting a pair of socks for my husband and a knitted cap with Norwegian designs for my husbands brother. Lots to do to get ready for Christmas. So I have to work everything in. Puff Puff

Thank you! You have the best tutorial I have found for this pattern. Very clear and concise explanations, and the video was not too long.

I've only just started to re-learn how to crochet.
I see a lot of how to crochect on RUclips s for beginners....most of them makes my head spin, that I just wanna shoot myself.
I saw one of your demo's and I haven't looked at any other.
I've just finished doing a viral Afghan blanket, and now I'm taking on the shawl. Thankyou, I will be following you, you make crocheting fun again for me.

Thank you so much...I've watched at least a hundred video tutorials and you are the first who actually told me exactly what yarn and how much in writing... It may sound like a small thing but...I have had to go back to the beginning so many time so I could see if they showed long enough so I could read the label. I'm going to see right now...if I can buy that yarn that you used. Looking forward to making this shawl!

You are very welcome, I'm not sure they have this particular colour shade any longer but you can check on either the lovecrafts website or wool warehouse :)

oh thank you!!!!!!!!!! This is best tutorial for the virus shawl I have seen yet. I have watched several and they were not good at all instruction wise and hard to follow. Thankfully I haven't gotten very far on the one I started so I plan to undo my work and work from your tutorial. :)

I made this shawl last year so made all my friends one as well... I was lucky the nuns taught me to crochet holding the hook like a pen and doing the tension round my little finger and over through other fingers that way you get the tension correct. I also don;t get sore wrists or fingers either..
