    FAQs??
    -How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
    This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
    Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How much yarn do I need?
    Unfortunately, I will not be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.
    -What equipment do you use?
    Camera: amzn.to/2jkNDl2
    Tripod: amzn.to/2w4ReK8
    Ring Light: amzn.to/2w4vrC7

    Am playing catch-up from Texas. I love your background for your videos. So pretty! The shawl is beautiful! The granny squares are mindless......easy and don't have to read a pattern. I love that type of pattern. Thank you so much for showing and telling everything. Can't wait to see all the finished programs. Today is the 4th of July, 2021. Happy Birthday America! 🇺🇸.

    I made this shawl last year so made all my friends one as well... I was lucky the nuns taught me to crochet holding the hook like a pen and doing the tension round my little finger and over through other fingers that way you get the tension correct. I also don;t get sore wrists or fingers either..

      Thank you , I really don't have any idea why its called a virus shawl however I was also curious so I googled it and here is the answer I got :- "Presumably it's called a Virus Shawl because for every complete set of rows you crochet, the width of the shawl goes up exponentially, similar to a population of viruses every time they divide" :)

    I was doing ok until about 23:30 of the video. I think if you had said how many chain 4 spaces should be in this row, it may have helped. You said there is a 'dip' at the center, but by making 10 db and 10 db altogether across the top of the last round, I lost my 'dip' and didn't know where to go.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  4 года назад

      In the part of the video you mention there should be three chain four spaces, two chain seven spaces, and another three chain four spaces. It can be quite a tricky pattern to follow - I do have another video with extra help that you might want to take a look at: ecs.page.link/EHvKL 🙂

    Excellent video. I started a rectangular virus afghan some time back. I was reading the pattern and eventually, just set it aside. It was turning out, it was just puckery. Following your instructions was a breeze. I'm very happy with your teaching skills and overall quality of your video. Thank You.

    I dont think I've ever actually commented on ANYTHING on youtube, but I just had to say thank you for this great video! You explain everything very clearly, the yarn you are using has just the right amount of colour change that it helps us see the definition between stitches and rows. Thank you for the time and effort you put into making this to help us out :)

    Can anyone please tell me how much yarn is required to do this shawl? Grams and yards please.. I have four balls currently.. each on is 502 yards, or 459 M, or 200 grams.
    Will I have enough yard if Im using 5 mm hook?

    On the diagram pattern it doesn't show the DC on top of the 4 CH space in row 7. I made one shawl like that then watched your video again and saw that you do make a dc in that space. I have made another 3 shawls your way and it looks much better. Thanks again. Absolutely loves the pattern.

    Thank you for the video. You did a marvellous job. I think there's an error in the written pattern. It doesn't say to join with SC to the 1 4ch loop but your video shows it. It looks so much better with that join & so floppy without it. I'm off & running & well on my way to finishing my first shawl. Great job!

      Umbrellatoo I realize your comment was made three years ago but I wanted to respond anyway. 🙂 I made my first virus shawl using a diagram and the sc in the one chain 4 was not included anywhere. I think it was intentionally left off and I’ve seen other videos here on RUclips where it’s not included. For myself, it’s not so much about how it looks as I don’t care for that “big leap” over that one chain four. I like to keep things tight and it’s just a pain trying to do that without that single crochet as an anchor. I’ve been crocheting over 45 years so I feel that I’m capable I just don’t like to do it. LOL Anyway, I’ve made two virus shawls now, one with that sc and one without and the difference is negligible. I intend to use an sc in that one chain four on future shawls as it’s just more enjoyable for me to crochet the pattern that way. 😊

    Would it be too much to ask for you to do a tutorial on filet crochet? I've looked at other people's videos and I just don't completely understand it and I thought you would be the best person to explain it better.

    Hi, I’ve been looking for a shawl pattern and this looks perfect. I’ve looked at some other tutorials on you tube and some comments say the instructions are wrong and they have had to undo their work after following the tutorial. I think it’s a credit to you that your followers trust you an invest a lot of time following your instructions and creating some beautiful and worthwhile projects. I appreciate your professionalism and you are my go to person. Credit where it’s due

    Thank you so much for this tutorial and the 'Extra Help' one as well. I've been wanting to make this shawl for a while now and just reading the pattern and looking at the chart scared the be-geezers out of me!! You've made it so easy to understand and I can watch each part over again when I need a little nudge to remember what to do next.

    Hello, maybe I should just forget trying to do the virus shawl, but...
    I started following the video and I'm so frustrated. You put 20 stitches in the circle you make to start, then you chain 3 and that's suppose to be 1 st stitch and you put one stitch in every stitch around and last one stitch in your 1st ch 3. That is 21 right? I followed video for the first and second row and I get 21. Help what am I missing or doing wrong. Hoping you can help. Thank you

      @jennyrobinson6051 7 лет назад

      I had troubles too at first but I looked at the chart your first row should have 20 stitches in total (including the ch 3). She is counting the ch 3 as her first stitch. So crochet 19 trebles (19 dc's) after the ch 3, Hope this helps.
