Actors don’t exist to me outside of the screen. They are wind-up toys, paid by me to perform. So wind up, perform, and entertain me. You cease to exist once the performance is over. Your personal life, your interests, your hobbies, your kids, your vacations, your addictions, your opinions about ANYTHING……..none of it registers. All irrelevant. They aren’t real people after the cameras stop rolling, in my eyes.
@@CountryAndProudI’m fine with AI becoming so advanced that we don’t need real celebs to act in anything. Perfectly fine with it. All movies would be made by talented AI-animation specialists. The humans can just stand in a booth and do the voices. And one day technology will be able to 100% perfectly recreate human voices too. I endorse it completely. It would be the ultimate demise of Hollywood, and that would be a great day for America and the rest of the world too.
Exactly, I am not expecting Blake Lively to be everyones therapist and help them through their trauma and “triggering”. Not sure why a former professional actor such as Brett Cooper expects Blake Lively to be an expert on DV and how to speak to people about their trauma when she is just an actor. I love Blake Lively and her husband is kind of dorky but he is like a puppy and I will continue to follow and watch them and not expect them to be my moral, emotional or psychological compasses. I also wouldnt look to them for advice on my hair, politics or privacy protection using my cell phone. They are just actors to me. If I wanted someone to get help with DV, I would send them to the renewed freedom center in LA. If they wanted hemp with their hair, I would send them to the best hair dresser I know of in Beverly Hills. If they wanted help with privacy and which cell phone service to use, I would send them to a cybersecurity specialist. If they wanted to better understand politics, I would ask them to look at the outcome of what is happening currently based on voting. I would not again look to Blake and Ryan for any of this. Blake & Ryan are a billionaire brand as a couple and they don’t have to do anything the way China thinks they should AKA tiktoks algorithm which is Chinese. They are American they promote American products and brands and Brett you are ignoring the Chinese influence here from TikTok promoting anti American brands, health and wellness. It is not Blakes place to be an expert on DV. Just because she plays a role doesnt make her an expert and the more people are tricked into seeing this film, the more anti-woman countries that play it the better since it will open up the conversation even more.
I don’t understand why terms like sexual abuse and domestic violence are censored these days. If we’re too afraid to speak out and use the proper terminology, how do we properly raise awareness and find solutions?
People should take Ricky Gervais’ words seriously when he said to actors: "You're in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world"
@MFRUclips683 You really think Brett would be brave enough to Debate Sam Seder, Her master Ben Shapiro refuses to Debate him so what makes you so sure that Brett Cooper would, I think you're being too optimistic buddy , Sam is most conservative commentators worst nightmare
I have no history of abuse at all and the book made me very very uncomfortable. It's an inconvenient truth that people face and the vapid hollywood elites act like it's a romcom
Justin is actually reacting in a way that makes him look very innocent. He isn’t trying to push a narrative, he isn’t trying to be a victim. He’s still speaking highly of everyone and is very professional. Basically he’s acting like someone that knows Blake and Ryan are going to hang themselves out to dry. And he’s right!
Kudos to Justin for behaving like a professional and not trying to trash anyone's reputation. I'm glad this is backfiring on B&R. They may be good looking, but they sure do like the gutter.
Justin Baldoni continues to be kind, magnanimous, humble, and gracious in the face of such bratty mean girl behavior. He’s the only one with any social awareness.
Let's not forget how she made mean "feminist" comments to a interviewers because she asked her about what she was wearing and now she won't stop talking about her flower dresses.
@@Mariet31 are we talking about the 2016 interview for that Woody Allen movie ? Because it was a while ago so we could argue that she changed her mind…no the best part is that she complains about the clothing question and right after she talks for minutes about the clothing with passion. Like why are you mad about the question when you recognize yourself that the clothes hold symbolism in the story and you’re interested about it. In that interview she just wanted to be mean to the poor interviewer. ( And acting like you care about women/feminism when you’re in a Woody Allen movie is so ironic )

Your a Negative! Blake is the lead actress it does help make the film a success along with all her other fellow actors; Its a joint effort. Each actor in this film was amazing 💯💯💯💯💯💯 LOVED IT!!❤️
I think the real disconnect is that Justin is a filmmaker, while Ryan and Blake are business people. Justin takes the movie and its message seriously, while Blake and Ryan are treating the film like a product to sell
@@kreationsbykaze1105 There are different schools of thought to this. Some people believe that film is an art form, a transcendent medium that captures the human experience and/or reflects on society. Those are they type of films that appeal to critics, and are usually lauded at events like Cannes. Then there are the people who see movies as a business venture, and this is the bread and butter of Hollywood. There is room enough for both schools of thought within the same industry, but maybe not within the same movie 😅
That interviewer has ties to Justin so that's probably his PR teams response to her PR Teams accusation tbh I would toss both of those things out. Both are pretty petty doing that.

I’m not even joking when I say that I HAD NO IDEA this movie was about DV…I’ve seen so much press and it’s all been with Blake and not once has she mentioned the heart of the movie. Thank you for such a good in depth review of both sides because it definitely puts Hollywood into perspective.
Blake saying that Justin fat shamed her isn’t even about fat shaming. He had a back problem and wanted to know her weight so that he could prepare to lift her. If anything it makes her look vain and selfish for thinking everything is an attack on her
She's a tall woman, of course she would weigh more than someone shorter. I wouldn't say she is big boned, but she's not delicate either. When I've seen ice skaters, the woman of the duo is often tiny while the man is large. That's just how it goes.

@@orphanedhanyou Most do. Baldoni chose not to which is what we are talking about here. Lively is promoting herself. She just tanked her career for a while .... maybe forever. People are seeing who she really is and they don't like it.
I've had a problem with Blake since she made fun of Princess Kate on Instagram for disappearing. Two days later, Kate had cancer. Tens of thousands of comments forced her to apologize. She apologized to "all those who were offended" instead of apologizing to Kate. Arrogant, self-absorbed.
My opinion of Lively fell after her making fun of the absence of Catherine, the Princess of Wales, as well, especially when it was well known she had just had a stomach surgery, and her apology after it was revealed Catherine has cancer, was so disengenious 😢
For me it was when she wore Balenciaga 3 months after the huge scandal… even though she’s given speeches on the topic. A huge scandal about a topic she gave a passionate speech about? She was an advocate for children and a mother… yet 3 months after the disgusting scandal she wore Balenciaga and tagged them? A serious lack of moral consistency. That’s when i unfollowed her. 5 months ago.
I wasn’t impressed with her over that at all, but the dig up all things wrong isn’t cool. We all make mistakes when younger and it is insane bringing up decade old info to justify cancel culture. It is crazy watching all this.
Bingo! She is a Ryan wannabe where Ryan is being himself where as she is trying to copy him & keeps failing tremendously for she has no sense of natural humor
She's probably trying to be Ryan since she is mostly known nowadays as Ryan's Wife or Taylor's Friend since her fame fade away a long time ago in this new generation
i think maybe she was under pressure or triggerd as women playing this role and talking about it maybe hurt her in a way that her PR team decide to distance her a bit from topic to protect her, she is smart women and been in hollywood for a long time so there might be reason

Yeah it's okay to talk about my hair but no about my body.. what's your point? Women are allowed to change the subject any time we want if we don't like the topic we are being asked to participate in.. get over yourselves.
@maudefindlay3949 I am a woman and they were not talking about Blake's body but that she was pregnant and she had already announced her pregnancy. What Blake did was then congratulate the female reporter on her pregnancy but the reporter was not pregnant and to make it worse can't have children. There is no excuse to want publicity for your movie by wanting to sit with a reporter but then deciding to be rude. Perhaps Blake is not cut out for any interviews. After all, Blake is the one who put her money into making this movie and the reporter is not making any money whether people see the movie or not. Ryan makes a better guest and interviewee and unfortunately Blake seems to want to imitate Ryan but of course she can't. Maybe the real her is rude to people she feels nothing for like her fans.
Crazy that she's treating the whole movie promo as her own personal fashion show, yet when that interviewer in 2016 kindly asked her about clothing, she was so rude and sarcastic about it.
That's what's bugging me so much, he tried to take a step back and let her lead because he knew it was important to have a woman be in the decision making and then finds out the same time as everyone else that they went behind his back and let her husband who is known for comedy movies and writing, when this is a serious and emotional movie, rewrite some of the scenes. That is truly disrespectful. It doesn't matter if you paid for most of it he is still the director, among other things, and is a big part of this. They could've talked with him about it, but they knew it was wrong, hence why they went out of their way to not tell him. Says a lot about them tbh.
@mrp2301 I'm not trying to be rude, just answering your question from my perspective. It's disrespectful to him because, like I said, he is a main person on this project and put passion and effort into it to tell a story about a woman going through abuse. And almost every interview he dives deep into what that entails and brings light to the main point of the movie, which Blake herself hasn't even done, btw. He acknowledges that although he had a big role, it isn't about him but about women who go through this. He is respectful and pushes the talking point back to women, which he should do to promote it, and just because he is a man doesn't mean he can't be supportive. It's disrespectful because he took a step back specifically to let a woman take over a topic about abuse for women, and instead, she brought her husband to do it behind his back. They could at least talk to him about it since he is the director. It is disrespectful not to be notified about these changes until the general public does. Sorry this is long, I hope I answered it in a non aggressive light.
@fandomlove6607 Although I'm just joining the conversation, I felt you explained it all well. I was unaware it was done behind Justin's back. I read one article that said without Ryan Reynolds's help, the movie would have bombed.
What's interesting is that while the cast is choosing Blake,😮 the CREW, the ENTIRE CREW, made up of regular people who have had to deal with all the actors on this set, and who know where the bodies are buried, support Justin. That speaks volumes to me.
We need to stop treating actors like they have answered a religious call to minister to our souls. For the most part, they live debauched, self-centered, and immoral lifestyles. They are not to be admired.
I agree completely!! I have always found it so extremely weird as well as extremely awkward and almost even sad, the way people basically worship celebrities and other "famous" people of all walks. Sure, find inspiration and aspire to be able to get to a place in your own life, that you are able to live like that too. Or whatever, however you want to say it. But don't put these people on such high pedestals. Treating them like they are somehow better or more important than everyone and everyone else just because they happened to find fame with whatever particular talents they possess. It's weird, and quite silly. I don't mean to say we shouldn't celebrate those of us whom truly do seem to extraordinary in their particular niches, but rather to remember at the end of the day, they are still just another Human being, living on earth like the rest of us.
@@WhatTheWHAT524Agree, I’m 40 and still wonder how so many people admire and get attached to celebrities so much and forget their just entertainers. No one really knows them
I did notice how differently Blake and Justin are promoting the movie. With her it’s all about her brands, her clothes, styling and jewlery. With him it’s all about the subject domestic violence.
So clear from interviews that Justin is humble and pointing to the hope that is out there for domestic violence survivors and that they can get out of their dangerous situation. It is so clear that he has a true appreciation for the key points of story. Seems that the others are stuck on themselves. I'm glad everyone is seeing this and questioning the selfishness of the others involved with the film. Hopefully this is a good learning experience for the selfish ones and they learn to treat such a serious topic with appropriate respect and dignity. We all have to learn things the hard way sometimes and I sure hope they can adjust their attitudes.
Agreed, but it got people in the door. 2nd week is going to have a major drop as it goes from being a date movie to a chick flick. The rewrite ruined awards chances but probably contributed to the movie trailer that fed 1st weekend results. Feel sorry for Justin, the movie's legacy would have been better with an award.

They will will want to defund the police, while making proven violent criminals saints. Just shows the left is nothing more than mental disorders and hypocrisy now.
I hope Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni would make amends. They are both good actors and the drama isn’t really helping the movie and what it stands for.

I think that's why she's so mean. Deep down knowing that and being incredibly insecure, it's the only reason I can think someone so fortunate would be such an arsewipe.
The way Blake answered the question about abused people coming to her was absolutely abhorrent and disgusting. She basically laughed at the subject she should be utterly ashamed of herself.
Why should these people be coming to Blake at all? She is not a therapist and doesn't want to be one. It would be like people asking RDJ jr about weapons manufacturing for the government. People need to separate actors from the roles they play.
@@TheDegobunny it’s just a question in which she chose to answer disrespectfully. While I agree that people need to separate themselves from actors the sad reality is they don’t and go as far as worshiping these people. She should take it more seriously given her platform.
I was disgusted with her when she mocked HEH Catherine Princess of Wales, a mother of three who was at the time fighting for her life with chemo due to her serious cancer diagnosis. Blake’s a jerk IMO.
Just remember, people like Blake Lively and Ryan Rhynolds are actors. They are very good at being charming while hiding their inner narcissist. Once in a while these people slip up and we see the narcissist revealed. The fact that you are sooooo insecure that an actor taking care of his health and safety is triggering says volumes.
Yep, we just see a small part of their lives that they want us to see. And to be fair, there's a lot of weird shit going on in Hollywood and most of these people are in on it.
I’ve always got a weird vibe from Ryan too honestly. Even though I have no evidence that he’s a bad guy, he seems like that person you meet that everyone else loves but you get bad vibes from and then eventually turns out to be an asshole
NO No It is NOT triggering She's trying to play victim but that is NOT the same thing - triggering is a real word that psychologists use to have a specific meaning and everybody claiming to be "triggered" at everything completely detracts from that meaning
It's just ironic how the abuser in the movie promoted it for what it is (DV) better than the author herself and Blake who are making the movie feel like a romcom with all the dresses and nail polish.
While I like Colleen hoover books...it does become glaringly obvious that she has personal issues. Every single one of her male leads in her books are toxic except Atlas. And those stories *are* intended as romance novels. It ends with us wasn't supposed to be, supposedly she based it on her mom's experience with her father...which would explain why she is a little messed up. I'm not saying that to shame her...just think she very clearly needs a good therapist.

You really gotta respect actors like Justin here (or Penn Badgley in You) where they’re concerned about the audience and genuinely saying “Please do not romanticize this character”
I think Hollywood actors have finally understood that people have been doing that for bad characters for so long that now with the mental health crisis and other issues actors who now portray villains are trying to make sure people really understand to not romanticize those villains anymore

I’m glad you came out with this. I was absolutely clueless and out the loop on the Blake drama. Thank you for explaining. He seems to have integrity that has not been jaded by Hollywood. Let’s hope that never happens. I think that he chose wisely to remove himself far from the madding crowd. Somebody needs to tell Blake that the cutesy retorts when in front of a Mike are not appropriate anymore. She is old enough to to know that this needs a different approach to such a serious film.
Yes, I did not like the book. Yes, I laughed at the casting when it came out. But I will say the only good thing to come out from this movie was Justin Baldoni’s involvement and genuine care for DV survivors potentially watching.
Agreed. Legit you spoke my thoughts. Justin is carrying this movie's success on his back at this point. Love everything he's done so far during promotions for this film.
May I also add that Blake used this movie to market her ALCOHOL COMPANY Betty Booze which sponsored all of the movie premieres and provided a specialized drink menu with one of the drinks being named “Ryle You Wait”…Ryle being the name of the abuser in the the film. She used her ALCOHOL COMPANY as a marketing strategy to promote a film about DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Alcohol is present in almost 90% of domestic abuse cases. In the book, Lily and Ryle drink wine one night to the point Lily doesn’t know if it was her being drunk or Ryle that pushes her to bang her head against the oven and black out. Did she not read the book?! That was the icing on the cake for me.
yes it was the last straw for me too! I also thought it was crazy how some tiktokers were asked to stop calling out Blake because something huge would come out and was going to depict her as a victim... but nothing came out (weight and kiss article). The thing is, for Colleen Hoover, the book has never been about DV. She said it herself, she doesn't write to educate but to entertain 🙄 and I can't believe Blake thought this was the right vision to follow! I mean, look at her interviews, her marketing circus around the movie, how delusional can these two be?!!Justin made his research and is a smart guy. He started working with No More before directing the movie and couldn't be unaware of the book's issues. I truly believe his intentions were genuine about the awareness he wanted to raise around DV. He just ended up pissing CoHo who wasn't aligned with him and gave Blake too much space. All of this allowed her to hijack his own movie! He got kicked out of a project he cared because of the Reynolds money and power play. This industry is disgusting and I think it got out of proportions because Blake is now the embodiment of how OUT OF TOUCH and unaware those huge celebrities are! She gave Jlo some rest 🤣
yeah this was quite possibly the craziest part that no one spoke about. her instagram bio was all about promoting her new alcohol company while justin's bio was about DV resources.
Oh for God's sake, it is not unheard of for people to serve their own brand of drink. She has a line of alcoholic ready to use drinks, and a line of non alcoholic drinks as well. This is a common thing to do in Hollywood. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. George Clooney did it with his tequila. Michael Jordan did it with his own tequila. Jay Z did it with his cognac. Grow up.
@@jeannawalton8107 I can see your point and would agree if she didn't claim she doesn't drink because she doesn't like the effects of alcohol. When she launched an alcoholic line some had already held that against her but she missed the mark when she chose to promote that line over the other for this specific premiere. And the issue is the lack of integrity and awareness overall. She was very vocal about her vision and creative inputs for the movie which exposed her completely and with this shitshow of a promo she showed how totally disconnected she and her vision are. She took the project of someone who was making the movie with purpose and understanding of the situation for what?! I think they (Blake and Sony) completely miscalculated how controversial the book was in the first place, and really didn't expect the backlash the movie would cause if they stayed so aligned and in tune with Colleen Hoover. Also, everyone knew it was Baldoni's project and the guy accumulated quite a fair amount of goodwill over the past. It honestly depends on person i think. Like when u read the book, and script defers or changes character narrative, u have a pre made image in your head of the script which may affect your performance style when u're used to the script work. He's absolutely right. I was an actor in domestic violence awareness presentations, and it was the worst I've ever felt, especially seeing victims of DV in the audience and sometimes having them tell me they lived the exact scene we portrayed. She shouldn't have done a movie with such serious themes because it seems that she can't really be serious as a "persona," which makes sense since her and her husband are known to be fun-loving, easy going and sarcastic, and that just doesn't mix with serious DV discussions.
well they don't care, you're watching it and talking about it - also sad for the kids who will grow up to be an ahole like Blake and Ryan, Ryan is just as much one
Blake should have said "I would be honoured that you would share something so personal with me, but I am just an actor in a film. Please make sure you connect with friends, family, and services as well". It would be crazy for someone to elect to do a film like this and not do some training or professional coaching on mental health first aid and how to handle these potential conversations.
Perfectly said! Acting like they want access to her 24/7 for just sharing their story, for feeling heard, because of the movie is just so, so tone deaf to me. She is so far removed from reality and actually understanding what being a DV survivor is truly like and what it entailed. Wrong actress for this film all the way.
I never realized how annoying her voice is. I HATE how she responded to the question about people wanting to talk to her about the movie. That's disgusting
She doesn't seem to like "little people" and recoiled immediately at the thought of being approached by them. Especially victims of DV, they are broken people who should not approach her altar of perfection.
@@PS-qn4oz And yeah abuse victims approaching her and thanking her for this film would get treated like vermin probably. It’s Justin who cares about victims. Blake hired comedy writers and try to literally make it into a comedy but her cut didn’t win at the audience test.
That's EXACTLY what I told my girlfriend! She's a DIEHARD Blake Lively fan, and she doesn't idolize ANYBODY else, she's just always had a HUGE thing for Lively, and this has been CRUSHING her. I really believe this and told her that too, and that I THINK Lively wanted some light-hearted crossover promotion for her and her husband ever since having the notoriety of a couple in tinsel town receiving two of the highest grossing box office successes, just.. as a couple (as mentioned in the video).
That makes me think. What is the difference with Barbenheimer to this then. I mean both would be about real horrible situations, along with a light comedy. Maybe it's the way the cast treats the darker movie
She lost me as a fan when she heartlessly went after princess Catherine, who was undergoing cancer diagnosis and treatment. Blake showed she is just a juvenile mean girl.
@@melissabishop2982 Because that whole group is the epitome of a mean girl. Tylor gives off the same vibe, she just hides it better, watch her not say a word to defend her best friend.
14:14 Blake Lively telling the rest of the world “don’t you dare approach me if you see me on the street, I don’t really ever care about your DV story, please understand this movie for me was about elevating my star status, promoting my hair care brand and smugly talking about my Uber famous husband. I’m Hollywood royalty you know.” As a past DV victim her tone has totally been triggering.
Thanks. If it hadn't been for the comments section, I would've had no idea how her answer connected to the question. Well, it doesn't connect at all, but now I understand that she regards herself too far above the rest of us rabble to even give a straight answer to a legitimate question.
You know what is interesting about this is that Blake used to be outspoken about her support in combatting child sexual abuse, child p*rn, and trafficking. She is no stranger to tackling hard topics. I am not sure why it is so different this time around. It reminds me a lot of the Ashton Kutcher / Mila Kunis situation.
I think she is probably medicated to deal with exhaustion with all those damn kids. Liquors. Hair care companies. She is probably on a lot of uppers and birth control😂 At the end of the day. She is a Hollywood person. Not normal. And definitely not all of these ladies therapist. How lucky are we as a society that people can get so worked up about a movie. Meanwhile 88 k little ones are missing and crickets. Adults can take care of themselves. It's our job to protect keeds. Sorry. I'm not very empathetic for Hollywood. Just curious what was going on with this story... Brett is wrong on this one... you didn't have money to hire Meryl streep. You hired a b rated actress. An old man once told me the worst ship to be on is a partnership! Sounds like they're bad partners and both hold fault.
I don’t see why someone who went through something like this would want to go out of their way to see this movie. I personally don’t plan on putting myself through that…
I’m not a fan of Ryan Reynolds or Blake for that matter. She is over rated as an actor. But their whole media persona “oh we are so funny”, “we don’t take ourselves too serious”…. She’s trying to be funny and it’s coming off so out of touch and tone deaf. She is a self absorbed celebrity who’s learning in real time how out of touch she is and how many people are finding her annoying.
I was a huge fan till I ran into them in person in Vancouver. Holy crap Ryan either hates the concept of peace or got skeletons where he can tolerate Blake and what sounds like an endless stream of madness. My only hope for their kids is now they got the nanny 24/7 yikes. I went from maybe try to approach to let's not even know who they are real quick. I am thankfully not used to my friends constantly projecting the vibes of a major domestic situation erupting at any moment.
Agree. He’s not a very good actor but he’s hilarious in Deadpool. She was pretty good in A simple plan but probably playing a character close to her personality. 🤣
I honestly don’t know how much media training Justin actually needed, he’s just a genuinely good person and it’s easy to hear that when he speaks. I’m so happy he’s speaking about these big time issues any chance he gets. We need more people like him ❤
My opinion on this is he just wanted them in his back pocket in case Blake tried to push the abuse narrative further than he lingered on a kiss too long bs. He is the gentleman he always has been and will continue to be. As we see only stuff about Blake is being found but not much on Justin
This! 🙌🏼 Blake Lively totally missed the chance to be a voice for women suffering from such severe and deep issues like DV. She missed her chance to be a serious actor. A real serious actress would have never done this “my hair products!” Like wtf total trash and comes off extremely money grab hungry, oh and a total beech (to say the least). Selfish doesn’t care about anyone but herself, period.
Blake belittling violence is horrendous. Victims take a long time, if not a lifetime, to recover from something like this. Shame she is focusing on something else.
Thanks for covering this Brett. I keep seeing stuff show up in my feed and was like what is happening here? I know I've had plenty of times where I have stuck my foot in my mouth or just acted a certain way cuz I thought it was funny but now I look back and groan. I'm hoping that is the case here. I'm also wondering if so many more ppl are aware and considerate of such sensitive topics so even having a casual attitude during press tours now is like wow, not cool. I think back to movies I grew up with in 90s when DV and SA was like the punch lines of the movies. Times have changed
Blake has also been seemingly trying to have a "Barbie moment" by wearing floral outfits during the promotional tour to tie in with her character's surname of Bloom! She couldn't be more tone deaf, the movie is about DV!
Bro i sony even follow nor keep of wit any of these celebrity folk for they don't give af about you unless its them promoting thier brand or whetever and even dont be giving these rich people your own money
I love Justin. I may not be 100% accurate but since he transitioned to directing and producing he does movies for people. Specific people. Still can't forget five feet apart.
Perception is key.. but please do tell women how we should handle our topics that affect us. Perhaps if men would stop being so "shady" and downright violent then none of this would have been a topic in the first place. Scapegoating women for how we handle it is just another form of abuse. STOP IT! And in reality there is no such thing as Princesses ..which is it you want her to accept fairy tales or not..make up your mind because you sound confused.
I remember that. She's sick. Someone should have told Prince William that BL and T Swift are best friends before he took his kids to the Swift concert and brought them backstage later. After all the trouble the royal family endures from that Markle woman, he doesn't realize that Swift and Lively are just as bad.
Someone should have told Prince William that Lively and T Swift are best friends before he brought his kids to that concert and backstage afterwards. After the abuse that whole family has taken from Markle, you'd think he could tell that Swift and Lively are the same pernicious species that she is.
I was already over Blake Lively, but now I simply cannot stand her. The vanity, the lack of humility, the assumptions that everything revolves around her and everyone wants to be her is disgraceful. And she’s supposed be a feminist?! Maybe she needs to take a deep dive into what that means, and what it really means to take on a role of a DV victim. On another note, I’m extremely impressed with how Justin has handled this whole film, including press.
@sebastiananthony5442 I'm 31 I could easily pass as a late teen/early 20's..that's really not that far fetched when you actually look a lot younger than you are 🤷🏾♀️..lol!!

I don’t understand why people put Blake and Ryan on a pedestal to begin with? the whole we’re so funny & reletable act was never convincing, and she literally broke his marriage with Scarlet Jo- but everyone looks over that because they’re a power couple. Blake has been rude her whole career, and she got her husband to buy her a possible oscar nom (hilarious) and when it didn’t go her way she tried to make justin the villian. Blake will never be that girl because she’s a bully.
Yes! Glad to see this. So many people gloss over this in MANY celebrity relationships and then act surprised when things like this or worse come out. Clearly neither one of these people (Ryan and Blake ) have any shame.
My sister was a victim of DV for 22 years, everyone meant to protect her, treated it as a joke and turned their backs on her. Blake and others who treat this as a joke are the reason why so many women, and men, are truly suffering, too many end up no longer living! My sister has scars and other major damage that she will never be able to recover from. Sad that Blake is treating this as a joke, and promoting it as a joke. It’s sick. I am so sick of Hollywood and entitled celebrities.
I am sorry to hear about your sister and I agree with your comment. Stories like your sister's reveal that victims matter the most - we all lose a lot when not protecting, not providing resources, and when not showing empathy and compassion.
Get a grip......no one else outside of your sister family unit....is obliged to coddle your sister. She should grow a backbone and continue living....moving forward....to show her abuser...a big fU......not some celebs....😂😂😂😂your sister is NOT that special to the rest of the world.....just to your and your family
I am so so sorry for your sister, I myself suffered abuse of all kinds, emitionally, sexually and physically from my ex partner. It lasted less than a year thank God, but the trauma and the scars always remains 😔😔. To being a victim and see how still to this day people treat this issue with jokes and like something to make fun of is so devastating 😣😣. God bless you sister and all women who have suffered violence and abuse, may we all heal our wounds and be able to re start our lives with a new beginning 🌸🌸🌸
I was excited to see this movie and think woah we are bringing light with large actors. Nope it’s a joke to them that hurts. I like how the man everyone’s hating on, is actually taking it seriously
While I empathize with your sister’s story; Blake is not the reason why there are DV victims. I am saying this as a DV survivor. Blame the true abusers. Point your anger towards them.
i lost respect for blake when i watched an interview of her from a few years ago. the interviewer said, "congratulations on your little bump!" (blake was pregnant), & blake SO RUDELY replied, "ohh congratulations on YOUR little bump!!" & then proceeded to talk to her friend sitting next to her & pretending the interviewer wasn't there. the interviewer looks so embarrassed & sad.. it was awful. blake is a "mean girl".
@@kjeksklaus7944 had no right to congratulate her on being pregnant? please. that's ridiculous. no one in their right mind would blame an interviewer for congratulating someone on being pregnant.
@@kjeksklaus7944 Blake publicly confirmed she was pregnant a day or two before that interview so it was absolutely appropriate to congratulate her. So people are correctly placing the blame where it needs to go, on Blake.
Not to mention the poor interviewer was struggling with infertility and I’m sure would have given anything to have an actual little bump of her own so that was extra painful.
In my opinion, I didn't see anything wrong with what the interviewer said.. I have been pregnant three times and would never find that offensive. I guess to each their own.
I have never read the book, nor knew anything about it aside from Blake Lively or Ryan Reynolds promoting the film. I had no idea this story was about domestic violence, none, thanks to the way they promoted the film. I even watched an interview of three ordinary girls gushing over the film and the flower shop. No mention of DV!!! I am horrified that I assumed this was just another rom-com. And shame on them for not promoting this film in the way it should have been!!!
15:38 she said what she said, and if you listen closely, she’s telling us she doesn’t care about domestic violence victims. She can’t relate so she doesn’t care
Yeah I agree. That's the thing. It's like she is completely dissociating/disconnecting by using humour. Not from experienced trauma but because she has no personal experience so it's not relatable for her at all. And that's very unfortunate considering the seriousness of the topic. She should have been more elegant and serious and used the opportunity to connect with victims and bring awareness.
She's trying hard to be Ryan Reynolds but she's just mean, not funny. She's one of those women who don't have very many women friends, she tries too hard to to be a guy. Comes off poorly. Very self-centered.
I recently watched another interview this one lady had with Blake and it was ATROCIOUS. It was titled something like “This Blake Lively interview almost made me quit me job”. It was nasty mean girl behavior and she showed who she really is

Blake always was just Ryan Reynolds wife 😂 and just that, until this movie where she kinda had creative control with her husband and decided to take the wrong movie to mess with, exactly this kind of topic you want it to be a rom-com instead of something serious, she always was a bully, out of touch with reality but only now people see her for real 😂
18:33 The "fat shaming" thing. He literally asked how much she weighed because HE HAS BACK PROBLEM. Asking for her weight is not fat shaming, it's ensuring both he AND Blake are safe on set while she is in the air. Take it from a theatre angle. When we have a show that has flight, we need to know an actor's weight. We need at LEAST 2x the actor's weight on the backend. Why? So the rope holders aren't straining under someone's weight because the actor lied about it. You don't want the people holding you up straining. They literally have your life in their hands. If you lie about your weight when you're in flight, you could either get injured, sustain lifelong injuries, or die. You could do the same for the people who are also holding you up. That's literally it. I say this as someone who has had body image issues and been fat shamed - the responsible thing to do in a situation like this is to ask for your costar's weight. Especially if you have a history of back problems. Blake has an issue with him asking for her weight. She probably would've had an issue with him dropping her if he didn't do the responsible thing and ask for her weight. There's no winning. I like to say - if you're in a scene and your feet aren't on the ground - you need to get comfortable with the fact that you might need to disclose your weight.
We shouldn’t be idolizing celebrities period.

Blake saying that Justin fat shamed her isn’t even about fat shaming. He had a back problem and wanted to know her weight so that he could prepare to lift her. If anything it makes her look vain and selfish for thinking everything is an attack on her

She couldn’t answer one question about DV, not one

It would be devastating cycle for William and their children if they were to lose her.
I think Blake is trying to be like Ryan. A sarcastic comedian. But her timing is off and she doesn't know how to read the room.
not to mention that ryan is just genuinely funnier than blake, and makes jokes at appropriate times
Maybe she spends too much time with Ryan. Ryan isn’t funny, if he was a girl he’d get just as much hate or worse than Blake Lively.
i think maybe she was under pressure or triggerd as women playing this role and talking about it maybe hurt her in a way that her PR team decide to distance her a bit from topic to protect her, she is smart women and been in hollywood for a long time so there might be reason
I don't think Justin did ANYTHING wrong. I believe she (and her husband) had creative differences with Justin which resulted in her (and her husband) trying to hijack the movie. She played the mean girl role and made it a 'It's him or me.' thing with the rest of the cast & crew. The people siding with her did so because they believed it was strategically in their best interests to do so. So when it became clear that she is losing the PR battle (because the peasants are smart and intuitive enough to actually see the truth of the matter), she is tries to use the "Me too" movement to WIN. After all, Blake is the one who put her money into making this movie and the reporter is not making any money whether people see the movie or not. imagine Justin wanting to tell the story from a female gaze and then finding out Ryan, a man! rewrote some scenes… how disrespectful
Isn't Justin a man as well? How is that any less disrespectful?
This.
I admire their influence

Nobody should treat domestic abuse as a rom com, how stupid...
Agreed, but it got people in the door. 2nd week is going to have a major drop as it goes from being a date movie to a chick flick. She shouldn't have done a movie with such serious themes because it seems that she can't really be serious as a "persona," which makes sense since her and her husband are known to be fun-loving, easy going and sarcastic, and that just doesn't mix with serious DV discussions.
I am team Justin, anyone who’s listened to his TED talk would be. He’s a very thoughtful person.
You should be on the side of not caring about celebrity squabbles. Grow up.
Justin is the one who initially contacted Colleen and praised the book and then acquired rights to make it into a film.
Yup. Back in 2019. It’s hard to imagine something you worked on for that long being stolen and rewritten.
@@skyboss1184 Because she made changes without permission, made it about herself to sell products, and showed a different cut of the film.
ok well thats a bit concerning too considering colleen hoover is a vile person.
People are tired of entitled bullies
well they don't care, you're watching it and talking about it - also sad for the kids who will grow up to be an ahole like Blake and Ryan, Ryan is just as much one
Didn’t she once call the Gossip Girl cast “her pet monkeys” or something along those lines? I hope she disappears for good. Crazy respect for Justin
Perfect example of what to say!
Brilliant❤
🎯😭🙏🏾
I never realized how annoying her voice is. I HATE how she responded to the question about people wanting to talk to her about the movie. That's disgusting
She doesn't seem to like "little people" and recoiled immediately at the thought of being approached by them. Especially victims of DV, they are broken people who should not approach her altar of perfection.
@@PS-qn4oz The fact that interviewer was a billionaire CEO and still “unworthy” of her respect. I have to laugh.
@@PS-qn4oz And yeah abuse victims approaching her and thanking her for this film would get treated like vermin probably. It’s Justin who cares about victims. Blake hired comedy writers and try to literally make it into a comedy but her cut didn’t win at the audience test.

I feel like Blake is trying to make It Ends with Us and Deadpool into Barbinheimer
I mean she’s a pretty well known popular celebrity. She didnt need this. Not like this.
That actually makes so much sense!
I was telling my sister the sammmmeeee this morning!!!!
That makes me think. What is the difference with Barbenheimer to this then. I mean both would be about real horrible situations, along with a light comedy. Maybe it's the way the cast treats the darker movie
Oh my! I absolutely LOVED your transition to “Ruff Greens”! Pure talent 🤩👍🏻
Thanks for your insight. Love your energy.
She lost me as a fan when she heartlessly went after princess Catherine, who was undergoing cancer diagnosis and treatment. Blake showed she is just a juvenile mean girl.
She's always been a mean girl. I think people forget all the back to the sisters of the traveling pants. HOW COULD TAYLOR HAVE A FRIEND LIKE THIS?
Same, when I saw that, I knew she was suspect.
what did she do?
@@melissabishop2982
Because that whole group is the epitome of a mean girl. Tylor gives off the same vibe, she just hides it better, watch her not say a word to defend her best friend.
What did she say
Well said
I think she is probably medicated to deal with exhaustion with all those damn kids.
@@AdventureAryckI wouldn’t blame that on meds, it just sounds like she doesn’t care💀
Not really, as she went to the Super Bowl dress head to toe and Balenciaga!
Hollywood elites and actors are the ones who perpetuate such abuse. Blake was probably tired of being a hypocrit
Ryan is actually very funny, maybe it's not fit for Blake but that's another thing
I have never liked those two. There is something about them that feels extremely fake and pretentious.
@@joanofarcxxi what's so bad about Ryan?

Blake made fun of Princess Kate. Now she belittles the theme of this movie. She’s a shady person.

Blake has been rude her whole career, and she got her husband to buy her a possible oscar nom (hilarious) and when it didn’t go her way she tried to make justin the villian. Blake will never be that girl because she’s a bully.

My sister was a victim of DV for 22 years, everyone meant to protect her, treated it as a joke and turned their backs on her. Blake and others who treat this as a joke are the reason why so many women, and men, are truly suffering, too many end up no longer living!
Yeah I agree. That's the thing. It's like she is completely dissociating/disconnecting by using humour. Not from experienced trauma but because she has no personal experience so it's not relatable for her at all. And that's very unfortunate considering the seriousness of the topic. It’s unclear if Lively knows the premise of the film. She too focused on herself and her hair line to really care.
