    can you try it on a squirrel or other varmint? better to test on meat than fruit.

      I s'pose I could. I've never actually shot a squirrel with a 22 that didn't basically just fall dead off the tree.

      Consider a low velocity 22lr with 100 ft/lbs of energy at 20 yards on a 1 pound squirrel. That's like shooting a 150 pound deer with 15,000 ft/lbs of energy; basically an elephant rifle twice or the hottest 50 BMG.

      The round nose saved the meat from being ruined. Hollow point wrecks your game.

      That round nose did great, for actual small game hunting…
