Underwood makes some very good ammo as well as Buffalo Bore. The Underwood ammo is cheaper than the Buffalo Bore. I like Underwood's +p hard cast ammo, the bullets are coated to prevent lead fouling in the bore and the brass casings are nickle plated which makes for better case extraction and little to no tarnishing.
A lot of people ask me why I carry 9mm in the woods and I tell them chances of me just carrying that are slim, I will always have my 30-06 when I’m in the woods.
7:13 Sure, that's not why you have bandaids! 😂 great video and demonstration of that cylinder gap. Thanks for making this video.
This is helpful. I have your body frame and recoil sensitivity. I am considering a Ruger mini-14 or a mini 30. I want a gun that is fun to shoot and can also be used for deer hunting. I have experiece shooting .556 and its great. I had a rough experience at a range with a 20 gauge. It sounds like you would reccomend a mini-30 over mini-14 in that case?
I laugh at the fruits who call the 9mm - useless, lame, anemic, underpowered - 'n' so on ............. 'n' so on ............... 'n' so on ..................................................................... 'n' so on .................
To achieve a 150 foot per second increase, you're gonna have to raise chamber pressure 5k to 10k. That's a lot. Will the gun do it? Sure it will but, the action of the gun is gonna suffer over time.
I love my 10/22 but, I have ran into a few issues in cold conditions with it. I have found that under 30 degrees the feed lips tend to get a little gummed up with the Aguila and CCI I have. That causes failure to feeds occasionally. I have also found that the safety easily freezes if there is any moisture that gets into it while it’s snowing or raining. It’s a great gun don’t get me wrong but I would grab my Henry Frontier lever gun over it. Never had an issue in the same conditions and I can shoot any type of .22 in it. Great video though! Rabbit hunting and hanging out in the woods is a favorite pastime.
Because the 10/22 barrel slips into the receiver rather than threading in like a centerfire rifle, it will always have some small amount of flex at that joint. This can lead to barrel droop if the stock is free floated. Adding a pressure pad under the barrel at the band is a much better way to stabilize harmonics while also supporting the barrel and relieving stress on the receiver. A heavy steel barrel hanging unsupported from the end of a thin aluminum receiver is asking for problems! It turns into a weighted lever pushing upward on the action when you do this. Also, action screw torque makes a big difference on these rifles. Definitely not the job for a pocket multi-tool.
The only gun I had for a few years when my wife and I first married was a H&R pardner single shot 12 gauge. I hunted with it and kept it loaded with buckshot for home defense. We lived on a dead end blacktop road out in the country so we had people coming down to the end of the road and turning around in our driveway, always made me nervous, especially at 1 or 2 in the morning.
Fucking hell I knew there was something weird going on. The cross on the skull of the hog.... very very odd.
"I don't know what to do with my hands." - Ricky Bobby
You just did all that then put the barrel/stock clamp back on…? Makes no sense. Look at the sporter stock by Ruger. It has no barrel clamp and uses the standard pencil barrel like yours.
I know this is an older video and I mean no disrespect but what kind of cheap AR do you get that wiggles 😅
DO NOT!!!! shoot a 5.56 out of a .223 barrel. You will slowly destroy your firearm and possibly cause a huge problem. Listen to your firearms manual. Sir take this video down! you are putting peoples life's and firearms at risk. SMH.
You should see what my personal hand loads can do. I see roughly 8-10 percent faster throat wear when pushing 5 56 in a .223 rifle. That's not a significant decrease in barrel life for a gun made to handle 7,000 to 10,000 rounds.
I have the same pistol but mine is a 9 shot they are a little hard to find love the magnum that l have too glad l waited to get the 9 shot hell of a gun.
I saw they're making the LR/WMR combo in 9-shot now. I want that.
This is essentially the same thing some folks do with revolvers and flitz polishing crème. It’s called a flitzs action job. Some die hards say it’s not good, but results seem to prove otherwise.
I've done this on every gun I've gotten my hands on. It helps.

Good video. Thanks for sharing. What pull weight did you end up with

Thank you forshowing your😮 the first for me
❤
Ive the mag cyclender love it
I like mine to cheep but nice😊 my grips same its painted i live mine fun pkanking. Love it😊
My problem is, mine doesn't unlock and I have to keep playing around with it for a while before it unlocks. Any advice???
Train like you would fight. If you get in the habit of immediately retrieving your spent shells during practice, you might carry that bad habit over in a home defense situation. Speed is important. Same thing when using a semi-auto pistol... drop the empty magazine on the ground, insert a fresh mag, and reengage the threat. Don't waste time trying to put the empty mag in a pocket, pouch, etc. You can pick up your $hit later. My 16 gauge H&R with a 19 inch barrel isn't my first choice for home defense, however, I wouldn't feel totally vulnerable. I think Joey Biden would doubly approve. If he recommends a double barrel shotgun then a single barrel should be twice as good in his mind LOL.
I have a “hybrid” situation that I haven’t seen addressed. I do mountain hiking in Georgia. I’m a Senior and usually hike alone. Some of these day hikes are 10 miles or so and are pretty remote. I’m not hunting but sometimes I’m concerned that someone or something might be hunting me. I’ve been trying to figure out whether I should load a magazine with two types of ammo to cover different types of attackers. In this regard, should I mix hard cast and hollow points to cover my bases, or is there one ammo that would cover 2 legged and 4 legged self-defense situations? Echelon Compact 9mm.
I'd look for hunting loads. Great mix of expansion and penetration.
Dude... I bet u could do a bad ass christopher Walken impression 😮😂😂😂 Great gun. Got 1 yesterday
Am worried about reliability since the 22 is rimfire. Should I be? I know don't use cheap ammo.
Thank u so much for sharing. I just bought a sig Sauer p365 XL & I love it.
'Poistol'???
At one time I thought functional, but one test showed very little penetration. So now I think it wouldn’t be effective on deer very far.
May be good an emergency but I would always keep slugs that's gotta be a lot better !
The Mexican 22 ammo Is pretty good ... But I'm not sure if it's as good Federal punch 22 I would like to see you Do a compare comparison Between them ???
Hi, I have a pellet pistol / pellet rifle. I actually went to the gun store today and he put a horseshoe Red Dot on my gun but not the larger sized Red Dot that looks like a small scope. What's the difference and which one do you recommend? My airgun is called the Artemis / snowpeak pp750. You can Google it to see some pictures. Excellent explanation. I watched some other videos and I didn't know what the hell they were talking about. Thanks.
Go with whichever is the most clearly visible and offers the most unobstructed view of your target area.
I hate the city too. Lets be friends
Best choice is ti bring a friend, who carries a 12 gauge.
Thanks! This was great!!!
I just purchased this gun and thought it was defective, watched several other videos before I watched yours but none of them were even close to explaining and showing how it's done. Fantastic job! Thank you.
People claim stingers are the best for self defense but i just dont see it i think you'd want a 40 grain round idk if stingers would cut it when it comes to penetration and i do belive stingers are a great round
Agreed.
I have several 9mm . I keep a 10mm for EDC with a Springfield 911 for back up . We have black bear around our area and in my yard at times . Outside at night I carry my titanium Taurus.44 with a 2.5 inch barrel . Easy to pocket in jeans or my bath robe .
Use an old pool stick.
The Remington R51 is a surprising and rather dubious choice of carry 👀 If you look at the data, R51 is one of the biggest failures in modern history. Absolutely horrendous failure rate.
Excellent review.
2 years later. I know how to release the bolt but its still annoying asf.
Thanks great review you answered my questions.
I did that on my takedown But my bolt will still won't unlock
Maximizing your potential would be a revolver with .22 Magnum. Or by a magnum capable .22 long rifle.
My 22 mag revolver gets the same velocity and energy as my standard 10/22, and it shoots slower.
U got a pistol that shoots straight.. I bought 3 hoping to find a straight shooter. No luck. Sold them immediately. Shooting 7" off is not Marine Corps standard
