Yes, there are techniques for shortening the legs of the spring, and to weaken the spring. I don't recommend that if you may shoot steel ammo. That's because they tend to have thicker, harder primers.
This is essentially the same thing some folks do with revolvers and flitz polishing crème. It’s called a flitzs action job. Some die hards say it’s not good, but results seem to prove otherwise.
Mother's Wheel Polish is my go-to for metal polish, works great! Joe Bob's Outfitters, I believe, is the sight to get the pre-travel grip screw to adjust pre-travel. They also have the Kaw Valley reduced spring set. Both items will come as a kit for about 20 bucks if you do not want to spend the money for a drop-in solution. Along with this polish job will have your trigger feeling like a Match Trigger. Good video, by the way. It threw me off at first polishing without disassembly, but it makes sense.
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm usually finicky with triggers. The AR Platform is not one of those times. Maybe because I have shot many styles of AR/"M" rifles while a Marine. Maybe I'm just lazy. LOL
I've found that this makes the difference between torquing the gun slightly high left as I pull the trigger and making consistent X rring shots. It more pronounced on a new trigger. After 2000 rounds, they do loosen up on thier own, but this makes a more even contact surface between the hammer and sear for a bit smoother and cleaner trigger pull. And it's ridiculously simple.
You are supposed to take the grip off to get the safety selector out. It's held on by a spring and detent. You tapping the safety out while still having the spring and detent in will mess up your detent and or spring.
I heard people modify the springs too. I'll try the polish thx for the tip.

Excellent Presentation!
Thanks
Thanks for posting, will be working on a budget build AR, will do a polish on the trigger as well.
Thanks! I'll stress again, clean it really good when you're finished polishing. That's a part you cannot skip.

I've done this on every gun I've gotten my hands on. It helps.
I’ve never had the wobble issue with Rock River Lowers!
Good video. Thanks for sharing. What pull weight did you end up with
That's Nice straight forward thank you.
I do that on every rifle I own

Yes that is the ticket I agree.
I know this is an older video and I mean no disrespect but what kind of cheap AR do you get that wiggles 😅
Thanks for the tutorial.

I polish mine at the time of assembly
Great job…!!!!!!
Thanks. Just be sure it's cleaned very well after.

Good point.
You don’t have to completely remove the grip, just loosen it up so the spring can compress down so you pull the safety switch,
@@tboneaja your saying just loosen it slightly and bend the spring out so you dont need to completely remove the screw?
@@TheSaltyyOG the spring will move out of the way on its own, if you remove the grip that spring can shoot out and you’ll never find it..
