At the time of this recording RUclips has announced the shorts camera is now available to all accounts in the United States. Keep in mind, even if you are not in the US, you can still get your short videos to show up on the shelf if you make your video vertical, less than 60 seconds and use the hashtag #shorts in your title and description.

I've just recently begun filming the meals that I prepare for my family. I lost a family member three weeks ago, began to spiral downward and out of the blues, picked up my phone two weeks ago and filmed my plants; here I am, still filming plants and meals I prepare. Thank you for all the tips.

I started using shorts for around a month now, and started using some “interesting” titles on them, and now ive gotten hundreds of views using them.. My most viewed short got 1.3k in one day which is awesome for me

Would you say most of your subs are from the shorts or from before you started doing shorts?
@@PassportGods I gained like two subscribers from shorts, but I’m still working on trying to get the people watching my shorts, to subscribe.. Also, the more often you post shorts, with interesting titles, more people would watch

Hi nick nimmin, I was your viewer in a year now...coz I was started uploading video and making my channel since last year april 2020... I learned a lot from you and I am thankful from your proven tips. About this new video, RUclips SHORTS, I also uploaded a content (RUclips SHORTS) today about this new feature of youtube! Unfortunately, here in qatar we still dont have this feature in my youtube apps but I still used it to put #shorts in my description, not less than 60secs and in a vertical form...

When this whole #shorts thing started up in RUclips I thought "yeah right that is going to be another feature that I don't use nor care to use." After watching this video I am going to have to change my tune as the way you described how to use the #shorts camera really opened my eyes to its capabilities. Has just rolled out in the US, RUclips haven't given a timeline for other countries, but I would expect it later in 2021.

Screen recording works on iPhone where you could then share them
Do you think RUclips gives any advantage to using the shorts camera as opposed to editing the footage in something like Video Leap or Premiere. It seems like they always like you to use their features but for me it seems like there'd be a lot more control if I edit my footage first. I did really like seeing how the camera works so thank you so much!
I have no data either way. If in doubt, you can pre-make your short, put it in your Camera Roll/Gallery and upload via the Shorts camera.

My videos were recorded vertically but when I edited them using the Video Editor in my Mac and they didn’t appear in shorts when posted on RUclips , even though they were less than one minute and still had the black vertical bars. Do you know how to make them appear in shorts? Thank you
They just need to be under 60 seconds and in a vertical format. Its also recommended to put #shorts on either the title or the description.

hey nick I just wanted to ask you a question, should I use Niche Tags instead of topic tags?
If you're adding a few tags, use phrases directly related to the video content. Don't go broader than the video itself.
I'm currently using the Beta so I manually upload short videos. So I'm wondering if I really have to utilize descriptions and tags as I normally would on long videos. I'm from the Philippines btw. So I'm relying on Beta.
Right now, it only asks for Title, visibility and made for/not made for kids.

Hey Nick, would you recommend creating a second channel for shorts? Because i make videos that are usually 7-9 minutes, and I think it might be kinda weird if I post a 30 second clip to that same channel
On or off the same channel - I would test a few, but certainly if the content is different, a fresh channel would be better.
