THANK YOU for this video. We have been doing this for 18 months and just started to feel so down about our slow growth. We got into the trap of seeing other creators in a similar niche grow SO quickly and just beating ourselves up for being not good enough, not likeable enough, not young enough, not beautiful enough, not talented enough... whatever negative thing we could think of! Today, I really felt like we are just wasting our time. But I've watched this and it genuinely has made me feel so much better about everything. Growth is still growth. It's disheartening and exhausting, but I've continued to push and learn and grow, and just yesterday I had me best day for views EVER :D

I will never quite... I just took a mental break but am back. Guess what happened in the 1 month I didn't post? I got 10+ new subs from 1 video that's going viral. That only happened in the last 5 days. What a reward🎉
It took me a year to get my first 1,000 views. I've gained another 15,000 views in the last six months. I thought I was growing too slowly, but it seems that all of the successful RUclipsrs started out slowly until something just suddenly clicked. I wasn't planning on quitting, but now more than ever, I plan to push ahead. It's very inspiring to learn that the big RUclipsrs were once small too, but they succeeded. The old saying, "quitters never win and winners never quit," seems to hold true. Thanks for this great inspirational video!
Thank you for your encouragement! I have had my channel since 2014 but was not sure what to do. It has now been about 18 months since I started applying myself and am closing in on my first 1000 subs - (641). The interesting thing is that I have over 10,000 watch time hours. WTF? Yes, I get discouraged sometimes, but when I look back, I see growth and have had a few spikes. I just keep holding on, posting and waiting for the algorithm to create momentum. I have learned so much on the journey and can see why some people quit early on. There is a huge learning curve, learning audio and video simultaneously is a big task, but so worth it! If I take away anything from my experience so far, it's how much I have learned and how much my work has grown. At this point quitting is NOT an option. Thank you for your wonderful videos! After months , years of procrastinating, I finally uploaded my first 2 videos ever! I’m soo happy to be almost to 50 subscribers ... thank you for the video , lots of great information as always and motivation as well . I appreciate you 💪🏻💪🏻
My mind is blown because... last night was my first time in 9 months (since I started RUclips) when I started questioning my journey. Then I see and watch this video when I woke up this morning. Like a lot of others out there, I put a lot of hard work, hours and pride into my content and that sometimes results with exhaustion. Mentally and physically. I think that is what’s happening. It’s sometimes difficult to balance out life with something you’re so passionate and invested in. The message you just delivered was a needed reminder that taking mental breaks is completely ok. Thank you.

RUclips is sooo hard as a new creator! It’s definitely easy to get down on yourself and want to give up. There’s just so much to learn. This video came up next on my feed at the perfect time! Please send some positive energy my way!!!
I have no intention of quitting any time soon - I'm in this for the next several years (or more). But even with that in mind, I'm still inspired by this video. Thank you VidIQ! :)
I woke up today feeling sucker punched by the algorithm and wanting to quit after a year of making videos. What stopped me was when you said it took you 8 years as well as the other YTer you mentioned. Too often do I hear "I grew my channel to 2k subs in one year!" so its good to hear some honest timelines. Thank you.
Damn inspiring, i always look for motivation and feel disheartened that people do it within a year somehow and im nowhere near whilst approaching a year!
Funny thing. I’ve been (video taping) for 20 plus yrs now. Back in the 8mm era. Remember that!! Always had a passion for it. RUclips has given me a place to share it. For that I am great full and plan on growing with the community. Thanks for you’re videos my friend. You’re awesome.
I almost gave up on RUclips last summer (in 2020), BUT then I got motivated again and now, I just posted two music pieces and gained over 23 subs, and I am very thankful for that!
Thanks Rob for this, on my channel I do look at 'the competition' and do the naughty thing and compare my views to similar videos on those channels. Also I have watched my views drop down at certian months and get really scared that my channel is going to die. This is video was a booster to keep going! Many thanks again!
I got inspired by their video showing the analytics videos. my channel is only around 600 but when I see the returning views around 350-400 a day and new view at around 250 a day and he says that means you beat the algorythm makes me feel inspired, id love to see them cover my analytics as my purple bar has been higher for months
I may be a RUclipsr with only 100 subs but this is my advice. Remember whatever you believe you can achieve and if you ever lose belief believe in yourself always remember that.
I needed this! Thank you! Been at this since May 2021 so when I hear success stories of people making it after a decade it helps me to put things in perspective because I’m comparing my journey to people who’ve gone viral as opposed to realizing that this a is a long haul thing! Cheers
Wow! I really needed this!! (The timing is incredible). Thank you so much for sharing your story! I’ve been on RUclips for two years now, and it is incredibly hard. I have a very small fan base right now, that we crafters all share. It is hard not to look at the other successful ones and think what I can do to get where they are. You are amazing (12 years is incredible!!) and I’m very thankful for you!
I’ve been going for almost two years now haven’t got any new subscribers for about 3 months, I’ve been question whether or not I continue but this video has helped me
Thx for sharing your story! Been making 60 videos for the last 2 months and can’t even notice a single thing. Hardly coming over 20 views. But my believe is strong! Hope you all will have the persistence to stay focused!
I have taken breaks from time to time as I felt a burnout while creating content. I have considered quitting, yet as I rewatch some of my videos I have created, I know my potential to create even better content hasn't been fully reached yet. The learning curve of RUclips is a steep one, and I guess it is a question of how much passion a person has for creating content and, more importantly, being patient. Slow and small gains are still growth for a channel. This video popped up in my feed for a reason. Thank you, Rob, and the VidIQ team for encouraging every content creater to unlock their potential and create amazing videos.
There have been so many times where I thought RUclips wasn't for me...but I kept coming back! Finally gaining traction now, and I'm so happy I never quit. I don't plan on stopping anytime soon! Thanks Rob!
this is the summarised of my journey, excellent dear ...RUclips has taught me how to trust myself find that confidence . my loyal every supporting audience has made me realised I know how to teach and talk. the platform that has changed not only my life but its and It will keep changing many people's life . thank you for this wonderful video
I'm just seeing this. This video was perfect for me Rob. I said that because I have thought about it because I'm getting subscribers that fast but then again my subs count has went up since I've started putting consistent content out 4 months ago. I feel like the subscribers count is going slow & will take forever and the watch hours will come quicker which is even a bigger task (4K watch hours) I wish you had to get 1 or the other to get monetized tbh. I will not quit but sometimes I do look at other channels and say how they get their numbers so easy in a hour. I know because I'm not known, I'm new to YT, & gotta make content that people wanna watch
I was loving my RUclips journey until school bullies found my channel and started harassing me in the comments. They’re obviously blocked now but the idea of them potentially watching me scares me! I needed this video! Thank you 🖤💀
Coming up to nearly a year on RUclips! It is hard in the early stages learning about RUclips and mastering your craft. Had several times when I wanted to quit but thanks to creators like you who helps to motivate us on this journey.
Indeed impacting so many lives in a positive way is very heartwarming, When you have that feeling sink in it's phenomenal, Saying that the life as a creator is not easy, some people still think it is just presenting random info out of internet while it is much more than that, you have to sometimes work so hard that it starts impacting family life as well, but I totally love being a creator, no doubt about that... 🙂
You are always so helpful Mr. Rob. Been watching your videos before I even started my own. I also did a lot of mistakes in my first attempt. But with your help, I am confident that I am in the right track on this one. Thank you so much.
This was Beautiful !!! This Showed Your Inspiration And Passion For What You Do. I Mean You Hit All Of Us In A Far More Personal Level Than I Ever Saw Anyone Do It 😁👌👍.
I definitely needed this. I was on the verge of quitting RUclips due to the past toxicity that I've dealt with and feeling like my content didn't matter anymore. Thank you.
RUclips has been so good for my mental health this winter. It's been great to have videos to plan for and to think about. This sounds cheesy af, but it's sort of given me my future back
Thank you for this one. Just six months in and already feeling unsuccessful at this endeavor. I appreciate the perspective that this is a long journey and we're improving with ever video. I won't be quitting today, thank you!
A lot of truth there. I been making treasure hunting videos for about a year now and the treasure hunting community has been stating to respond. Every time I put out a video I get a subscriber or two and that's good with me. I love it to much to even think about giving up 👍🤠👍
I will not quit RUclips no matter how hard RUclips, the big channels, the mainstream medias the celebrities and the haters try to stop me, I will fight my way to success and succeed. I started this channel last year on April 4th 2020 and now my channel it's a year old and I still stay on my grind and come next year I will be stepping it up by making double videos per day every 7 days of the week, I will never give up, that's how motivated I am.
That's a great mindset but just be mindful of burnout, I've went through this and life got in the way a lot of the time and I burned out. I wish you the best on RUclips my fellow creator!
To anyone thinking about quitting RUclips don’t. I know it can be hard but you should never give up on something your really want. It’s difficult to wait, but more difficult to regret. Keep fighting✊
I just about ready to quit, well I see many similar restoration channels with much faster growing rate and honestly their videos are not that good. Thank you for your kind words I may stay little longer. I also subbed to your channel. Thanks for sharing.
With things opening back up, all the quarantine creators (like me) have a hard decision to make... If you don't think you will have the time anymore, you do. You can do this. Keep Going.
8 Years and I barely went up to 200 subs then started going down. One day I looked in the mirror and told myself to take my videos and channel more serious and BAM within a month I was up 120 subs. Now I'm sitting at 892 and growing everyday!
The fact that we just--last night!--had a collective conversation about how maybe we should quit RUclips... and then woke up to THIS in our recommended feed... crazy! Glad we watched. Thank you for the rational outlook on this CRAZY journey, and for the inspiration. We won't be quitting any time soon; but it's nice to know that we aren't alone in feeling the way that we feel!!
This feels like fate. I was feeling really down and not getting anywhere. Thinking on whether I should keep going. Then out of nowhere I saw a vid from my favourite content creator channel (VidIQ) talking exactly about this. So grateful!
This is a very helpful video. The part about communicating what you're most passionate about and attracting people who share that passion resonated the most with me.

Bro you got 100 k subs you've made it
I needed this! Every time I feel like I get ahead I take 5 steps backward. I am going to keep going though because I love it.
Wise and Strong words! Been on the edge for sooo many times. In the end, I'm happy I never stopped
Hello
Thank you.
Your numbers are much like mine, 8 years in, still hard and just being profitable. So much hard work!
thanks I ll work hard too👍
Damn inspiring, i always look for motivation and feel disheartened that people do it within a year somehow and im nowhere near whilst approaching a year!
Custommade Crafts Every now and then RUclips grabs one of your videos and it goes wild, but those times are far and few between
@@Andysfishing Do you still love fishing?
Funny thing. I’ve been (video taping) for 20 plus yrs now. Back in the 8mm era. Remember that!! Always had a passion for it. RUclips has given me a place to share it. For that I am great full and plan on growing with the community. Thanks for you’re videos my friend. You’re awesome.
I almost gave up on RUclips last summer (in 2020), BUT then I got motivated again and now, I just posted two music pieces and gained over 23 subs, and I am very thankful for that!
Welcome back!
@@vidIQ thx!
There's no destination, it is always the journey that matters. Thank you for this and I support all youtubers in this community.
Thanks Rob for this, on my channel I do look at 'the competition' and do the naughty thing and compare my views to similar videos on those channels. Also I have watched my views drop down at certian months and get really scared that my channel is going to die. This is video was a booster to keep going! Many thanks again!
When are you going to do a Half Life 3 Release Date and Price video? ;)
@@vidIQ Haha, whenever Steam/Valve shows us some real proof that is coming. Trust me I would get this game on day one!
Rob is my favorite speaker for many reasons. But his honesty is the biggest.
Remember whatever you believe you can achieve and if you ever lose belief believe in yourself always remember that.
this channel really deserves 1M asap
for real🙌
Could the people here help me hit 400 I'm 8 away
While not one of your most viewed videos, I can guarantee it's one of the most impactful; certainly for me. Thanks.
I needed this! Thank you! Been at this since May 2021 so when I hear success stories of people making it after a decade it helps me to put things in perspective because I’m comparing my journey to people who’ve gone viral as opposed to realizing that this a is a long haul thing! Cheers
I'm a fairly new RUclipsr, and I was really considering quitting until I watched this video. Thanks for this.
I am so depressed since last month, but after watching this I m going to restart.
Very Positive Video thank you so much, Rob
I love you dude❤️❤️❤️
Wow. Thank you for this! It’s easy to beat yourself up if you aren’t growing. Thanks for reminding us success could be right around the corner.
I love being a youtuber I would never quit.Have a good day people and you should never quit anything that you look.
Tbh some of their RUclips channels are just not entertaining either because of lazy editing or because they always only show one thing.
"and make sure you have the time of your life doing it." -Brilliant!
I’ve been going for almost two years now haven’t got any new subscribers for about 3 months, I’ve been question whether or not I continue but this video has helped me
I can’t believe that Rob was a teacher, I wonder how it could be, must’ve be really exciting! XD
Thx for sharing your story! Been making 60 videos for the last 2 months and can’t even notice a single thing. Hardly coming over 20 views. But my believe is strong! Hope you all will have the persistence to stay focused!
I will never quit. Many people in the graveyard took their dreams with them.
Yep, I've considered quitting at LEAST...10-15 times.
Glad you're still here 🙌
@@vidIQ Thanks, VidIQ. Glad you guys are still here as well. Lotta useful info on this channel, for sure.
Same here
There have been so many times where I thought RUclips wasn't for me...but I kept coming back! Finally gaining traction now, and I'm so happy I never quit. I don't plan on stopping anytime soon! Thanks Rob!
It is really hard... I also started to feel a little bit like quitting but I really like editing videos, even though I still got A LOT to learn.
But you get a little better at it each time. Right? That's all good stuff.
@@JoesPhenomenal Yeah, that's absolutely true!
Every time I feel like I hit a road block and question my path to invest so much time on making RUclips videos, I watch this.
this is the summarised of my journey, excellent dear ...RUclips has taught me how to trust myself find that confidence . my loyal every supporting audience has made me realised I know how to teach and talk. the platform that has changed not only my life but its and It will keep changing many people's life . thank you for this wonderful video
thank you for your support😊👍
Just understand not everyone going to make it. I realized that and it it’s easier to quit and move on
I love how I can hear the passion for us in your voice. Keep creating, Rob! 👍
I subbed u cuz I like roblox
@@craigier7616 :)
You looks sentimental in this video,
I was loving my RUclips journey until school bullies found my channel and started harassing me in the comments. They’re obviously blocked now but the idea of them potentially watching me scares me! I needed this video! Thank you 🖤💀
I'm sorry that happened to you. It's hard enough to put you out there. You are better and braver by doing what so many people will not.
My anxiety rises everytime you say "quit RUclips" and that is because I could not even imagine doing such a thing.
Congrats on 1 million!
Thank you.
I think this is something I needed because I considered quitting a few days ago now getting much views but then i decided that I'll keep going 🌠
Hey just keep going my friend
@@getsomecolourinyourlifedav2478 Thanks I definitely will
We can do this
No quitting! I was editing a short while listening. Good message Rob!
I love it to much to even think about giving up 👍🤠👍
❤❤❤❤❤
I will not quit RUclips no matter how hard RUclips, the big channels, the mainstream medias the celebrities and the haters try to stop me, I will fight my way to success and succeed. I started this channel last year on April 4th 2020 and now my channel it's a year old and I still stay on my grind and come next year I will be stepping it up by making double videos per day every 7 days of the week, I will never give up, that's how motivated I am.
That's a great mindset but just be mindful of burnout, I've went through this and life got in the way a lot of the time and I burned out. I wish you the best on RUclips my fellow creator!
@@GAMESTALGIC Thank you dude
@@ATAndreiThomas You're welcome, you'll make it chief, you got this
@@GAMESTALGIC all the way man thanks man
@@ATAndreiThomas You're welcome :D
To anyone thinking about quitting RUclips don’t. I know it can be hard but you should never give up on something your really want. It’s difficult to wait, but more difficult to regret. Keep fighting✊
Your comment is just something I need 🙂💜✨
Yes yes 🙌
Could the people here help me hit 400 I'm 8 away
I just about ready to quit, well I see many similar restoration channels with much faster growing rate and honestly their videos are not that good. Thank you for your kind words I may stay little longer. I also subbed to your channel. Thanks for sharing.
Im not even considering ever quitting RUclips, i just wanna hear so many reasons why one needs to show patience :)
1k subs here we come!
I’ve been loosing a lot of subscribers lately and feeling depressed but you inspired me❤️✌🏼
You've got this. Don't sweat the short term stuff. Focus on the long game which has brought you nearly 2k subscribers.
@@vidIQ ok! Thanks so much VidIQ I really appreciate you replying!! I’ll keep doing my best and keep pursuing. 🙂
This feels like fate. I was feeling really down and not getting anywhere. Thinking on whether I should keep going. Then out of nowhere I saw a vid from my favourite content creator channel (VidIQ) talking exactly about this. So grateful!
To be honest I was thinking of giving up but after this I'm never ever going to give up
Yessir that's what I love to see man!💪🔥
This is a very helpful video. The part about communicating what you're most passionate about and attracting people who share that passion resonated the most with me.
Thank you for the motivation it's not only about youtube success but also a message of life success keep it up 😉
As fate would have it, I was feeling pretty down right now, and found this on my feed. I'm not going to quit! I'm going to keep trying! Thank you!😊✌️
You got this!
This means so much! I love this so much ❤
Rob this is hands down the best pep talk EVER!! 🙏🔥You not only teach me YT basics but also inspire me every time. Thank you for being YOU! 🙏
