@@LloydLPaul-sd9zo Sure it can be done, its a matter of just learning how the system works and applying that knowledge correctly. There quite a few guys who are succeeding and sharing useful info on how they have succeeded but most just fluff around.
I don't agree about the tags and here is why. As we all know RUclips is directly connected with Google. And by that using good strong key words and key phrases, makes your video appear in google search. Simply by doing a good job with the Title->Description->Keywords you can rank for a keyword really high in google search, even at the first place. And I am speaking from experience. I have a couple of videos where my keywords are ranked at the very top, meaning first place in google search, which brought me some good views. And by first place I mean, your video appears on a specific keyword on top of everything else, meaning the first thing to see. Not only that, those specific videos are still bringing views after almost 4 years. So I would not underestimate the power of keywords.
6:17 It's really very very important for the algorithms!! Whenever i choose (Education) on my videos, they're die without any views, and i mean it literally *(without any view)* So please RUclipsrs, choose the right category for your video.. 🙏 It's from my heart (experience) to you brothers and sisters.. 🌹 ❤ VidIQ doesn't know know everything, because they are big (they have community=algorithm). They don't see the difference in many sittings on RUclips, like us small channels!
Not that simple. RUclips itself has said it rarely uses tags. In the early days of search engines, keyword stuffing, excessive title tags, and lots of tiny text at the bottom of website were used to try and game the system. Over time, both Google and RUclips decided not to trust what the content creator says their stuff is about and instead they use more advanced processing to scan the content and deduce the keywords, tags, and indexing to make it searchable. If you say your video is about wild tigers, but Google tech sees only cats and dogs, guess what Google/RUclips uses to tag and index your content? Not the tag "tigers" you manually put into your submission.
That is because you have 11k subs. This does not apply when your channel is too small to rank. Google owns RUclips, this means they have backend access to RUclips data. So this means they can push their search results similar to how they push their RUclips results. Larger channels TEND TO rank higher. Thus, your conclusion is flawed.
Posting in the morning vs. posting at midnight etc. and the timing of the video doesn't always define if a video will perform better or not on RUclips, I noticed through personal experience. RUclips did a fine job cracking that down on the algorithm scale. I feel a good indication of making your channel pretty good is to focus on shorts that can draw viewers in that TIES IN with your long-form content. If both content relate well hand in hand with what you want on your channel to be as, you'll grow much faster especially if you are a newer channel. Good luck on hitting 1K subs. It's easy wishing to have it right away, but for many, it's going to also require hard work and commitment and never giving up.
6:17 It's really very very important for the algorithms!! For point #12, I like it when my viewers can post a link to a build that they want to see me make in a future video. This saves me time from having to research their request.
Fun fact about the thumbnail changes feature. I've noticed this on a few popular channels, and sometimes the different thumbnail is more attractive, but often times I don't click on a video when I first see it because I'm watching a different one so I have a lot of watch later videos. It wasn't necessarily because I didn't like the thumbnail. And I think it doesn't capture that reality.
Two things I learned in the pst month as my views dropped by 50% or more per vid. 1) when I had a couple of videos that I didn't necessarily want to publish straight away I still uploaded them as Unlisted and they still got a few views. When I decided to make them Public the views didn't reach what I'd expect. I'll use Private in future for those circumstances. 2) I was publishing at 10am consistently. 2 years ago that is when most people viewed my videos. After seeing recent tips on checking your audience I looked again for first time in ages - and when do they watch - 3pm almost consistently! Ive moved my publication time for the Algorithm and watching what happens!
Small RUclipsrs like me, don't rush. Everything has its own timing. Just upload the videos that you like and for sure there are people out there who will eventually come across with your channel and subscribe.
That’s how I been going at it I watch stuff to try and get better I’m new to all of it editing and posting but I been just putting up what I thoughts cool!!
14:51 the thing that sucks is RUclips started making it where a suggested video pops up when the video fully ends, instead of continuing to show the end screen
*Automatic Places* would replace the hashtags (at one point) on the top (when they were under the title). My other understanding was this would help location specific videos - a local store RUclips - not get piled in together with others in different locations. *Automatic Concepts* are to be checked if you are doing a video *outside your niche*. They don't hurt your channel if you post a personal video of your favourite basket weaves.
Also, my problem with Test 3 Thumbs is they don't overlay "YOU WATCHED THIS ONE ALREADY". Some people watch bc of the thumbnail, so I am concerned they're going to start watching, feel duped, and unsubscribe or thumbs down. Yes, there is a little red line, but not in all places.

As a watch review channel, I've always struggled with the 'paid promotion' option. I never receive payment for reviews, but I do sometimes get to keep the watches I review. So due to this, I've always aired on the side of caution and ticked this option for those videos. Then left an explanation in the video description. Do you think I need to this, or is that 'paid promotion' only for if you receive an actual monetary payment? I can't wait for the thumbnail test and compare feature to roll out. That's going to be so useful in determining whether my newer thumbnail style is working as well as I think it is.
I am more interested in the first tip. Does it mean setting a video to private and waiting for about 2 hours, after uploading, will help the video do better compared to just publishing and making it public immediately?
Just starting out and only have a handful of videos, so I'll be going back to check my settings against your recommendations. Love the channel and thanks for the continued great content.
in the end of the day consistency is the most important thing to grow your channel, and making sure the videos are edited and not something you recorded then uploaded
RUclips categories reminds me of the old days of the web, when you didn’t necessarily have access to search engines. You either knew the websites domain name directly, visited a webring that contained a bunch of related websites, or, the more important one, used a web directory, like dmoz. There was a period when people would create their own free websites, often using providers like geocities, which originally used a fake city system, where you had to pick the “city” your site was related to, like Sunset Strip for music, Hollywood for movies. If you had an 80s nostalgia site, which “city” do you pick? Same thing with directories, is your site about movies? Tv? Music? Toys? You can’t be all.
9:03 The problem is that, at any moment, you can go from a Standard RUclips Licence to a Creative Commons and vice versa by changing the option. So for example, somebody uploads his/her video with a Standard RUclips Licence, I download the video and reuse the content. But after a year, that creator from which I downloaded the video, all of a sudden decides to make his/her video a Creative Commons. Now I'm all of a sudden not allowed anymore to use that content. This doesn't make any sense. This option should be locked when a video is uploaded. Because, for example, if somebody changes the licence type from a Standard RUclips Licence to a Creative Commons on content I reused and monetized, I will all of a sudden be charged for copyright infringement and be demonitized because I use restricted content.
So do you want the Uploads default set to Public or not? You said, "the last thing you want to do" and that sometimes that means not to do that thing. Just trying to clarify. Thanks!

From my experience about Automatic Concepts. When I made a video about COVID-19, RUclips automatically added a caption in description, describing COVID-19 and also added a hyperlink that led to a website which had a lot of information about COVID. So I always turn it on.
I checked the 'don't post to subfeed' box a couple of times early on in my channel growth when I put some videos up purely for search and didn't want to confuse my viewers with them. They saw it anyway - as we know, more people see the videos on the home page, not the sub feed. If I want to do something like that again, I'll consider setting up a new channel for it.
I've been doing all of these tips pretty much for a while and was agonising over the tags great to know it has little impact and I can worry less, thanks for the great vid
2 hours feels too little, if you can, upload the video 1-2 days prior, that will be much better, also gives you a lot more time to set everything up rather than rush through everything

I love your videos! Helped me so much when starting my channel. I’ve taken a lot of tips to help. Still a small channel but having fun making good content and using your advice.
As far as the public or private thing goes, after I create the content, and then finish editing I upload and then do the title, the tags, the whole front page and then I wait and start doing the thumbnail and maybe a little more SEO while it's uploading and as soon as the copyright checks are done that's when I either schedule it or make it go public
Better start studying how to make thumbnail becoz your thumbnail really sucks and try to say the video content within 20 sec then maybe get more views i learned it after years only
Thank you for these pointers. I just started a week ago, and the work is REAL! Only posted 4 videos for far. I could really do with some encouragement right now!
I just want to say a huge thank you to Vidiq. I would never be where i am now without them. I started two years ago and i have just gotten 2000 subs. I urge anyone to never give up as you can do things that at first seem impossible.
For the A/B testing, is it only thumbnails, or can I test titles as well? I think better titles can make a more dramatic change to CTR than a different thumbnail, in most cases..
I'm 3+ years as a RUclipsr & have not reached 1k subs and watch time hours yet. Be encouraged guys, don’t give up! All the best to all the small channels out there. Let’s go!
I've watched several of your videos (and others) and I'm happy to say that half of these topics you covered in figure out on my own, while the other half learned more about them through videos like yours. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 😊
With the 'Notify Subscribers', there's a theory that you should keep it off because most subscribers don't watch your videos anyway so it sends a bad signal to RUclips when they send out notifications and most don't click on it. What do you think of it? I do this and it works for me, I personally prefer to let the algorithm do it's thing and it seems to do a great job so far.
Thanks for this! Since I started my channel I've been wondering about that category setting. Especially since my videos are "None of the above." Still not entire clear on the difference between the Standard RUclips License and the Creative Commons license though. Thanks again for a great video!!
im smiling all the time if i see when somebody talks about Endscreens, how important they are etc. and then do it in the same video :D its just so nice haha
If i want to upload a video but still work on the description, etc before people see it, can i upload it as Private, and then just switch it to Public when it's ready?

Keep your head up small creators, it's soon our time to shine
I love your videos! Helped me so much when starting my channel. I’ve taken a lot of tips to help. Still a small channel but having fun making good content and using your advice.
@@Zptarry it’s pretty much the only channel I watch for tips and tricks lol usually wouldn’t sub to any other channels like this. But their tips work.
I hope my channel grows with this ❤😊
Grow, Learn and succeed together!😊❤
I hope too on it ❤❤❤
Better start studying how to make thumbnail becoz your thumbnail really sucks and try to say the video content within 20 sec then maybe get more views i learned it after years only
True
I subbed to you! 😊🎉💛🔥
Thank you! I've just implimented everything you said and my new video goes live in an hour. I'll let you know how it goes :)
Small channels, keep working hard,we will shine one-day.💪
you too! wanna break through 500 but i'm stuck at 485 subs 😂
@@MillenniumVT_Official 😞
I can't begin to thank you enough for the info you provide! Small and new channels can learn a lot thanks to you! Much love!
Great Video as always. I do notice a increase in views (in the short term) when posting at a certain time/day
Thank you for these pointers. I just started a week ago, and the work is REAL! Only posted 4 videos for far. I could really do with some encouragement right now!
Thanks for the tips Rob.
We got you!
Oh yeah 😊
LOTS of ever changing settings. Thanks 4 this update. Cheers !!
I just want to say a huge thank you to Vidiq. I would never be where i am now without them. I started two years ago and i have just gotten 2000 subs. I urge anyone to never give up as you can do things that at first seem impossible.
Hello vid IQ i just subscribed to your channel and now I’m going to do everything you just explained to help my channel grow faster thank you. 😊
Go for it!
For the A/B testing, is it only thumbnails, or can I test titles as well? I think better titles can make a more dramatic change to CTR than a different thumbnail, in most cases..
RUclips needs to add an Edutainment category.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm 3+ years as a RUclipsr & have not reached 1k subs and watch time hours yet. Be encouraged guys, don’t give up! All the best to all the small channels out there. Let’s go!
I came with gratitude 🎉
I've watched several of your videos (and others) and I'm happy to say that half of these topics you covered in figure out on my own, while the other half learned more about them through videos like yours.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge 😊
With the 'Notify Subscribers', there's a theory that you should keep it off because most subscribers don't watch your videos anyway so it sends a bad signal to RUclips when they send out notifications and most don't click on it. What do you think of it? I do this and it works for me, I personally prefer to let the algorithm do it's thing and it seems to do a great job so far.
It really depends on your subscribers, you might want to check this video here:

Thanks for the great content😊
Thanks for this! Since I started my channel I've been wondering about that category setting. Especially since my videos are "None of the above."
Still not entire clear on the difference between the Standard RUclips License and the Creative Commons license though. Thanks again for a great video!!
thanks for your advice🙏🏼
We got you!
Rob: you mentioned setting the "shorts remixing" permissions in upload defaults. I don't see that option there. Is it hidden somewhere obscure?
Hopefully this all works out my views and interactions have been way down...
I subbed to you 🔥
@rubystitch3837 No Way!!! Thanks for the Sub!!!!! Much Appreciated!!!
@@LineGuyFarming No problem! Anytime!
im smiling all the time if i see when somebody talks about Endscreens, how important they are etc. and then do it in the same video :D its just so nice haha
Thanks for the great tips. Doing everything I can every day to earn every sub. Thanks for all your guidance VidIQ😊❤
Thank for the info. I need to check the settings. Good luck to everyone. 😊

What did you meant by time sensitive videos 🧐?
Hi vidiq
If i want to upload a video but still work on the description, etc before people see it, can i upload it as Private, and then just switch it to Public when it's ready?
Yup, absolutely. You can change the thumbnail, title and description at any point!!
i am leaving this comment here so that when someone likes or comment on it . I will be back to watch this video again
I have bookmarked a few videos talking about settings, I have been taking notes of all the settings talked about in the videos. No way i could remember them all by heart
Ok mate
Thanks for sharing these insights! As someone who's just launched a channel, I really appreciate the valuable tips and strategies you provide. Looking forward to more content!
I tried this but nothing growed 😢😢😢.....please reply
Setting is not the only reason why you don't grow. There are tons of things you should change, check other videos of this channel, you can find many. Good luck!
Thank you so much for this. I just started my channel and i hope for a better change.
ok
My channel was growing at a steady pace, and my videos were getting decent numbers of views for a small channel! and it suddenly stopped!
Is there a specific reason for that??
Pls pin me
