This is why i like Fith gear more. They are more serious. They talk about think you care about like boot space, running costs etc. And they are excited about epic cars
@Spooie steering lock. When you turn your wheel all the way and it stops. The "racing rack" Is the steering rack which means it has a shorter turn radius which is ideal for fast turns at the race track.
Fuck me, Tiff is fearless. Driving this car like a bat out of hell in such close quarters. Good god, he's a good driver. That McLaren is bliss. So fucking perfect.
@marklung : "Lock" Is how much the front wheels can turn when you turn the steering wheel from full left to full right, this is call lock, how tight the car can tun.
@dsass600 They haven't replaced the Enzo yet, the GTO is a reincarnation of the legendary road/race cars. The Enzo was part of a line of F cars (F40,F50, etc), that's why the Enzo is referred to as the F60. There is no F70 yet but they're working on one.
I'd love to see a race between the - - Porsche 911 GT2 - Koenigsegg Agera R - Hennessey Venom GT - Bugatti Veyron Super Sport - SSC Ultimate Aero - Saleen S7 - Pagani Zonda Cinque - Lamborghini Aventador - Noble M600 - Aston Martin Vanquish - Ferrari Enzo - Pagani Hyundai (This car topped the Top Gear by a long jump) - Ferrari 458 - McLaren F1 (My favourite car) - SSC Ultimate Aero - Koenigsegg CCX I think that it might go to the Pagani Zonda Huayra/McLaren F1/Venom GT!
@GenuineLeather13 steering lock stops you from turning further once the wheel gets to a certain point in the steering, no lock means the wheels will turn until they are as far as the steering mechanism will move
@GenuineLeather13 The turning radius of a car is dictated by how far you can turn the steering wheel from "lock-to-lock", as they say -- from as far left as possible to as far right as possible until you can't turn the wheel any more. It is a characteristic of the steering rack installed on the car. Since steering inputs are more sensitive at high speed, race cars have a steering rack that turns the car less per turn of the wheel, and so have a larger turning radius.
@GregDyNastyStylez F70 seems like it will be amazing. It'd be hard as hell to get your hands on one of the 400 Enzo's in existence.. Then again, maybe not.
'No lock'. A racing drivers' term for a limited turning circle - the quicker the rack, the more responsive the car is at speed; however, it means that in day-to-day use (as seen here when leaving the garage), the front wheels won't steer enough to take a corner. (Cf, at the other end of the performance scale, a London taxi, that can 'turn on a sixpence'!
What's the difference between this and Top Gear? Which one is better? I only watch Top Gear sadly... I don't have time to watch both and begin from season 1. I am mainly curious of the opinions of those, who watch both.
It took them that much because smaller steps are getting heavier as the progress marches on. We are on the boundary of what's physically possible. Bugatti is 700 kilograms heavier. And it has air condition, stereo, and sound isolation. So the 400 horsepower were a must.
Two incredible machines! That is actually a Mclaren F1 LM. The LM was basically a street legal version of the F1 GTR race car which explains all of the controls inside and there's only like 5 in existence!! Those wheels, spoiler, as well as the color were not options for the regular F1 which is the one that holds the 240 mph top speed record and was more civilized inside. You could get it in black, red, and silver but I think that's it. The LM was also not known for being as fast.
absolutley, alot of the most epic roadcars ever came in mid 2000s. Koenigsegg CCX, Carrera GT, SLR McLaren, Enzo, Zonda F, Veyron, LP640 (LOVE the LP640), 599... the list can be made long.
I remember watching this video when i had like 15 years old , now am 20 and I always will remember this video because it inspires me to love cars. Just when i heard that ferrari sound.
It is just pure engineering genius only a company like McClaren could make, considering it's over 15 years old and the world's fastest naturally aspirated car it's the most impressive super car imo. Someone who drove one I think it was Andretti said that if they changed the gear ratios and added a 7th gear it could probably go a bit faster.
Its been no secret that for the last 15 years, Tiff Needell's favourite car has been the McLaren F1, and for a very good reason, its a beast of a car. No other car even comes close to the mighty McLaren F1. After the McLaren MP4-12C super car, McLaren are building a new hyper car, its project name is the McLaren P12. .
Yes. The GTR is not street legal. It was built specifically for the track and used in races. Like I said the LM was basically a street legal version of the GTR. It has a smaller spoiler, different wheels, and this color was the only one you could get it in if you are lucky enough to own one of the 5 in existence. If you compare it to the standard F1, it has different bumpers too. The standard F1 was very rare itself as only 106 were produced and I think there's only 60 in the U.S.
Tiff know how to talk about cars so well. His explanation is like human being & cars are one. Fuel/Petrol=Blood, Piston=Heartbeat. Jeremy and his gang just can't do that. Tim Schrick good too.
The Enzo would clearly be the better choise of the two, considering costs, comfort, speed etc. But that is not really what super cars are about is it? the McLaren would leave the Enzo for dead in soul, passion, noise and excitement. Love that orange thing. It is just so beautiful.
Sweet cars! Strangely Kuwait has such vehicles but no drivers. I have OUTRUN this exact Ferrari at least twice using an 09 EDM STI-slightly modded but untuned. Other bullets too like: Turbo S, GT-R, Audi R8 5.2, some Corvettes etc. I'm far from an ACE driver-only 6 months on stickshift. Such waste makes enthusiasts to wanna cry!
Nothing will beat the F1. Designed by Gordon Murray (McLaren's Formula 1 designer), and built by a Grand Prix team. As Tiff himself says, it's very special.
His version of stock means no modifications. NA means naturally aspirated, no turbo or super charger and F1 he meant the car in the video not a formula one car. Also you could buy one, not one racing in the current season but collectors have old ones just can't drive them on the road.
'Steering lock' is when you can't turn the wheel any further, and the car is turning at its tightest. 'No lock' is an odd way of saying the car has a poor turning circle, as the wheels lock at a less tighter turning circle.
Both very nice and clean. I know you can build a Toyota Supra & a Nissan Skyline to beat these cars. But I say it's all good. Ferraris Lamborghinis etc leave them stock. By a Supra or a Skyline to build. Japanese cars are always fun to build.
Actually it seems to be the Mclaren F1 LM (Le Mans) Edition, just google, there was also "LM organe" written on the paint tin. In my opinion, ist the most beautifull Edition of this car - it has the racing features of the GTR, but still the 3 seat - layout (in the Racing Editions, the two side seats are not in in order to keep the weigh down), but it still has the round body shape, especially on the roof with the round and flat Airbox, most Racing - versions hat one that is more stickig out.
I sat in an F1 when I was like 9 or 10 at the Melbourne Grand Prix. I went off by myself because the cars were too noisy for me and someone let me sit in it. It was a privilege and a half!
The only Bugatti that could be rightfully compared to the Mclaren F1 and Enzo is the EB110, and I'm pretty sure it'd fall short, as it did in Le Mans, and as it has in motoring history. The Veyron is more of a piece of Jewelery than an actual car. It's an amazing technological masterpiece, but it doesn't scream "race" in any way.
Tiff OBVIOUSLY said the Mclaren was a race car converted for road use. the LM's were never "converted" but were built straight out of the factory for road use. This is a 1995 GTR made to look like an LM
2004: "combined value of £2,000,000"
2019: add a zero.
Matt McLoughlin that’s how we can tell this is so old 🤣
F1 cost alone almost 20 milion
why was i wasting time in 2004 being in primary school instead of buying my first Mclaren F1 :(
@@Hardys-Mods I know! Bogus
You can tell this man LOVES his job.
No matter how many car vids I watch on RUclips, I come back to this time and time again. Just so epic lol
When he says: it's very special . God gotta love that, F1's are and probably will be best mclarens ever made.
MP4-12C's and P1's are like Mclaren clones made by China
The F1 is the only Best and Original McLaren there were ever will
Yasin Ador True :)
Tiff's joy and enthusiasm are addicting. They radiate to the viewer.
I watched this video as a kid so many times, I am 28 years old now. Still love this video❤️
This is why i like Fith gear more. They are more serious.
They talk about think you care about like boot space, running costs etc. And they are excited about epic cars
That McLaren F1 interiors give you the feel of Fighter Jet cockpit. The legend forever!
The Mclaren caught the love of my heart when I first played with it in Need for Speed, and that would be my dream car of the future.
4:30 that sound .... TRUE LOVE
The sound when he fires up the F1... Wow
I've watched it like 1000x
@Spooie steering lock. When you turn your wheel all the way and it stops. The "racing rack" Is the steering rack which means it has a shorter turn radius which is ideal for fast turns at the race track.
Fuck me, Tiff is fearless. Driving this car like a bat out of hell in such close quarters. Good god, he's a good driver. That McLaren is bliss. So fucking perfect.
McLaren, perfect? Your opinion.
Just the McLaren F1. The P1 is pretty nice, too ;)
The F1 isn't perfect, it has it's share of problems and issues, like every car. Trust me, a BMW V12 is screaming problems and issues.
TrisGV and a ferarri is reliable? all the supercars are shit when it comes to reliability.
That sound of the F1 . Amazing!!!!
That F1 is amazing, the fuel pump switch and noise is orgasmic.
Good god if I can ever afford one I want one of those original F-1's they are the pinnacle !
thank god to Mclaren, there's a automotive company called BMW. if it wasn't, it wouldn't have that brilliant BMW ///M-POWER engine.
@marklung : "Lock" Is how much the front wheels can turn when you turn the steering wheel from full left to full right, this is call lock, how tight the car can tun.
Mclaren f1 lm vs ferrari enzo
The best is the mclaren
This guy is absolutely gay for cars. I love it.
One of the earliest videos on this platform that got me into cars, I was just around 7 to 8 years old at the time
I'm a Tifosi but I still like the McLaren more than any other car.
"It's a vice that can be cheaper than gambling." Well no shit Sherlock. Anything can be cheaper than gambling if all you do is gamble.
@dsass600 They haven't replaced the Enzo yet, the GTO is a reincarnation of the legendary road/race cars. The Enzo was part of a line of F cars (F40,F50, etc), that's why the Enzo is referred to as the F60. There is no F70 yet but they're working on one.
Ferrari has no rivals
umm bugatti? porsche? mclaren? lamborghini? pagani? and there's more! don't act like ferrari is that special.
Gumpert, koenissegg, henessey lol
Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, Suzuki lest I go on?
In fabrication of burning cars and barbecue with wheels ? Yes is true AHAHAHAH
the thing is, the veyron can't take corners nearly as well as the F1, sure it would win in a straight flat out, but put them on a real track, no comp
I'd love to see a race between the -
- Porsche 911 GT2
- Koenigsegg Agera R
- Hennessey Venom GT
- Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
- SSC Ultimate Aero
- Saleen S7
- Pagani Zonda Cinque
- Lamborghini Aventador
- Noble M600
- Aston Martin Vanquish
- Ferrari Enzo
- Pagani Hyundai (This car topped the Top Gear by a long jump)
- Ferrari 458
- McLaren F1 (My favourite car)
- SSC Ultimate Aero
- Koenigsegg CCX
I think that it might go to the Pagani Zonda Huayra/McLaren F1/Venom GT!
@GenuineLeather13 steering lock stops you from turning further once the wheel gets to a certain point in the steering, no lock means the wheels will turn until they are as far as the steering mechanism will move

simplemente magnifico ... los sonidos de estas dos maravillas mecanicas y con una hermosa musica de fondo
wow! tiff u will be remembered forever for this review!!!!
the passion shown by these guys is contagious and entertaining.
i used to not like the enzo but now I love it.
it really grows on you
this is one of the BEST car reviews/comparrisons
I love how Tiff just shows his happiness as he does
song at 6:17 is "Anvil Chorus" by Verdi
@GregDyNastyStylez F70 seems like it will be amazing. It'd be hard as hell to get your hands on one of the 400 Enzo's in existence.. Then again, maybe not.
You were right... The LaFerrari is amazing
This is the best video Fifth Gear has ever done.
'No lock'. A racing drivers' term for a limited turning circle - the quicker the rack, the more responsive the car is at speed; however, it means that in day-to-day use (as seen here when leaving the garage), the front wheels won't steer enough to take a corner. @vega1051 yes, only when the mclaren is making the fuel pomps sound... because when it's turned on...
4:29 I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THAT.
What's the difference between this and Top Gear? Which one is better? I only watch Top Gear sadly... I don't have time to watch both and begin from season 1. I am mainly curious of the opinions of those, who watch both.
4:29 till 4:32 the best sound i EVER heard! BRILLIANT TUNE! I definitely going to make it as SMS-sound.
Great review. I like how he took his time, like any true enthusiast would. Soaking in every minute you have with these great cars.
Funny you mentioned that game because I started playing it again about a week ago just so I can drive the McLaren F1 LM :)
muito bom parabens as maquinas sao lindas e potentes RCO,Técnologia agradece
Since no one posted this, this is from Fifth Gear - Season 9, Episode 13 - July 24th, 2006. I am sure many were curious.
Does anyone else just love this guy? You can hear the passion in his voice :)
It took them that much because smaller steps are getting heavier as the progress marches on. We are on the boundary of what's physically possible. Bugatti is 700 kilograms heavier. And it has air condition, stereo, and sound isolation. So the 400 horsepower were a must.
This must be the 50th time I've watched this, still good.
I've been lucky to sit in three Enzos this year & last year, two black & one red. Good times :-D.
-this is for sure one guy who should, and does, truly love his job.
"Your still the baby" Tiff was spot on there! For me nothing better than that naturaly aspirated v12 soundtrack
Two incredible machines! That is actually a Mclaren F1 LM. The style of that garage and those 2 cars just screams PGR 3 on my new 360 back in the day lol
@PCGamer121 The P12, that should be the 2nd F1 as far as i'm informed, correct m8?
I have NEVER heard an engine make the sound that the F1's V12 does, what an absolutely demonic roar! It makes every hair stand on end.
absolutley, alot of the most epic roadcars ever came in mid 2000s.
They're only geared to go about 190MPH. No where near the top speed of the road car. They were mainly geared for La Sarthe (Le Mans Circuit).
honestly these cars both give me goosebumps when i see them from certain angles. scary stuff
can u upload in HD please
It is just pure engineering genius only a company like McClaren could make, considering it's over 15 years old and the world's fastest naturally aspirated car it's the most impressive super car imo. What's the song in the beginning??? Thanks!!!
My money would be on the Zonda Huayra. To me, she is truly a work of art. Just sensational....of course, these 2 cars are not bad at all.
Its been no secret that for the last 15 years, Tiff Needell's favourite car has been the McLaren F1, and for a very good reason, its a beast of a car.
No other car even comes close to the mighty McLaren F1.
After the McLaren MP4-12C super car, McLaren are building a new hyper car, its project name is the McLaren P12.
.
@RazorN500 He isnt Mr Bean
Whats the name of the Music of 7:45 ???
Yes. The GTR is not street legal. It was built specifically for the track and used in races. Like I said the LM was basically a street legal version of the GTR. Jeremy and his gang just can't do that.
Tim Schrick good too.
I will never understand music overlays when engine sound is available to be heard.
The Enzo would clearly be the better choise of the two, considering costs, comfort, speed etc. But that is not really what super cars are about is it? the McLaren would leave the Enzo for dead in soul, passion, noise and excitement. Love that orange thing. It is just so beautiful.
They're both a work of art.
Have you seen the Enzo Mig U1 or the FXX? now those are cars!
@disengagejam Yes it is. It's a LM.
Nothing will beat the F1. Designed by Gordon Murray (McLaren's Formula 1 designer), and built by a Grand Prix team. As Tiff himself says, it's very special.
biggestthh thrill which is the most exthpenssive to run and which drives the best
@MacGyver920 okay? What does it matter? If it makes you feel better, it used to use a BMW engine.
It is difficult to convey that passion through a camera and a computer screen though.
@makinmillions6 i can read, and i dont see anywhere mentioning anything about it being the LM version
not the title, not the description.
His version of stock means no modifications. NA means naturally aspirated, no turbo or super charger and F1 he meant the car in the video not a formula one car. Also you could buy one, not one racing in the current season but collectors have old ones just can't drive them on the road.
always coming back to this video its dat good
What episode/season been trying to find out?.
These are what I call jet fighters on wheels. Amazing engineering.
'Steering lock' is when you can't turn the wheel any further, and the car is turning at its tightest. 'No lock' is an odd way of saying the car has a poor turning circle, as the wheels lock at a less tighter turning circle.

McLaren F1 , THAT is a real car !! 🥰
Starting up that McLaren can be a handful, which is cool. Sorta like turning on a fighter jet!
My two most favorite cars ever side by side! My dream come true! Oh so expensive, but oh the fun I could have with them!
i never thought about the mpg for those cars. i would think i'd be better
Actually it seems to be the Mclaren F1 LM (Le Mans) Edition, just google, there was also "LM organe" written on the paint tin. looking forward to seeing how the LaFerrari and the P1 compare. i have a feeling yet again the McLaren may edge it
@jpwhatwhat1028 does ur space bar key button on your keyboard work?
He did, he said it had been converted for use on the road look at 3:34 :)
Where is this man?? he should be on Top Gear, probably good enough to have his own show
The only Bugatti that could be rightfully compared to the Mclaren F1 and Enzo is the EB110, and I'm pretty sure it'd fall short, as it did in Le Mans, and as it has in motoring history.

damn i love this guys job.. i see him having fun at FIFTH GEAR discovery channel
