Best car ever. I think this car will not be beaten from another car in the next 100 years. With 627 hp to reach 380 kmh, thats is not just incredible its almost impossible. But F1 can. So, that car seems to be from another planet. This car has everything. Beautifaul, powerful, fast on racetrack, fast on dragrace, awesome sound, space for 3 person, its build from the best materials on that planet. And that car is from 1995 !!!
I respect Ralph Lauren a lot. He had great taste in cars. He has one of the very few Bugatti type57 Atlantic supercharged too. 3 were made. They were made from Aluminum in 1937...
The sound quality is more a product of purebred engineering than anything. If you build a no-compromise, no-expense-spared motor from the ground up with the intention of it being the best sports car motor you can build it's bound to sound awesome.
I always heared the same story about the engine being in fact 2 M3-engines fitted together, but recently I read that the F1-engine is based on the 850csi-engine. Judging by the engine genealogy and type numbering, this could be true, but I'm not sure as to which version of the story is the right one.
@Peloton25 wow what a great story any other little tidbits about him you would think it would be interesting for others to know about this man and how he drove this car ?
Thanks for your reply, something that has always bothered me slightly i have seen the film of Andy Wallace setting the record at the VW test track and he said that he had reached 391 kph which equates to 244.37mph can you clarify. Thanks
I own a copy of McLaren's official book on the development and history of the F1, "Driving Passion" and it shows a picture of the modem built-in to the fuse access panel... odd.
your right, i met him at a bike show last year what he was doing there i dont know but he was arguing with a stallholder about the price of his replica guns lol =]
OK so heres my questions that i just havent been able to find.. is an F1 a 5 speed or a 6 speed.. I thought it was a six but most cars built around that time were fives and I cant figure out which it was.
9 month services? What if you own one here in the states? Where do you take your F1 for servicing needs? It seems an extravagance to fly a couple of technitians over, but then again it you can afford an F1, you wont care about the bills. Is there a McLaren Center in the US.
@billyBinNC ya. by merely adding 2 turboes and rev to 9000rpm gordon murray said it will churn out 1000hp. he also said a 1000hp mc f1 will do 281mph. Imagine. thats faster than both the SSC aero (275mph predicted and 257mph actual) and a veyron SS 267mph with 1183hp and 1200hp respectively. just goes to show how GOD murray is with the f1's aerodynamics. a 1000hp mc f1 will also have 1000hp/ton. Thats acceleration Caparo T1 scale.
@dojOdRiFTeR "with atleast 100k u can make a gtr shit on an enzo in upgrades" What are you on about? A stock F1 roadcar will 'shit on an Enzo'. And who in their right mind would feel the need to upgrade an F1, let alone a GTR?
The sound of the engine is wonderfulllll! Can't stop listening to the acceleration.
Piece of art. I have one of the original, hand numbered brochures from the '92 launch at Monaco.
Peloton25, all your videos are dedicated to mclaren f1s u r my hero
That exhaust note has to be one of the best.
haha at 2:09 he smashes the modem when he tries to close it
Grandest design. Real admiration.
Congratulations, for the videos and for the tutorial.
you tube is a good teacher for my english and for my cars´s pasion. thank you
@Peloton25

saw K8 MCL outside silverstone some time back
Wow...I had no idea the McLaren included so many other things upon purchase. I was on the fence but now I'm sold...
That equipment presentation almost sounded like Q's demonstration of James Bond's new car
Credit to this guy at least he has his own style and isn't a Clarkson wannabe.
I love this car.good video especially 3:10.
It's being highlighted at jalopnik this morning.

Thanks for your reply, something that has always bothered me slightly i have seen the film of Andy Wallace setting the record at the VW test track and he said that he had reached 391 kph which equates to 244.37mph can you clarify. Thanks
I'd have the SLR722s anyday over this and still have some spare change for a Ferrari 612 for everyday use.
yes,used ones
they still fetch extremely high prices
hey thanks man, that really helped!

Yes. I agree with what he said.
OK so heres my questions that i just havent been able to find.. is an F1 a 5 speed or a 6 speed.. I thought it was a six but most cars built around that time were fives and I cant figure out which it was.
There will never be a car like this again

NOW THAT IS SERVICE! :P
i love this carrr
Ah, yes that's it - too lazy to get up and look at the bookshelf.
I thought that may be the case. Thanks for clarifying.

@Peloton25 ohhh aw :( i was about to ask for a picture so i can say to all my friends "i know a guy who owns a mclaren f1"
@BiGDProductionsTM good
How much does Mclaren F1 costs in dollars??
The day I buy I car and have to have an F1 test driver tell me how to drive it, ha ha...this is the best car ever...
He crashed the modem in the tool kit :D
@1k9e8n1 ehm i dont think so but is a great car
If you listen to the video it explains that. Sheesh
obviously there not in production it would be too expensive to continue producing these
10000 quid for a big service. What a bargain compared to a Veyron.
@Peloton25 eh? are you for real, as if i give a shit about his history or if youv met him. i said it in a figure of speech
the tool box isn't closed man..
He's English, most English people can drive a manual car blindfolded.
