No longer a rumor, they're filming right now. The show is called ''The Grand Tour'' and airs on Amazon. I'm very much looking forward to it, because they now have a budget four times as big. Top Gear aired on the BBC, which is a license funded network. What this means is that all Brits, by law, pay a license fee to the BBC. This means commercial free TV is available to all. But it also means that the BBC has to limit the amount of money they can offer Top Gear, as they need to cover all interests, not just car fans... Amazon prime on the other hand does not recieve license pay, so they're free to broadcast whatever they want.
They don't even consume that much; 9l/100 km when driven carefully. And then again even if it drinks fuel when driven hard you should be able to pay the gas, c'mon, it costs 1 million € !!

The cinematography on this showcase and on the 918 is the best ever on topgear and outclasses most of not all current car shows today, it's amazing how many chills these 2 videos gave me
This is possibly my favorite car review, ever. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Between the words of Jeremy and the cinematography, it is incredible.
Totally agreed man. I'm not an engineer myself but I think engineers are some of the most underrated people. Things like finance or being a doctor have that 'wow' factor instantly to a lot of people but engineering is so lit.
And this right here, is why the "new top gear" with Evans at the helm will never compare, the way that Clarkson speaks about these cars comes effortless, and with authority, and epic, without even trying, the fun and games of the three together is one thing. But it's these serious peices that made the show, let's hope the amazon offering brings something close. But I doubt it will be the same.
Mitchell Toulouse oh, man. I just googled that car. Can I be your friend? Would you pay me fly tickets from argentina to wherever you are so I can drive it? hahaha
it really doesn't matter what kind of car Jeremy Clarkson likes.... if he really really really loves a car, he does make ONE HELL of a review. it really shows how passionate he likes it, it makes the laferrari and 918 reviews bland. idc that it's slower, I'm in love with this car as well :)
I'm sorry, but the other reviews are not exactly crap in terms of production quality and/or contents. Love each of the three reviews by each of the presenters
HyperblazeM and where exactly did i say "crap"? they aren't bad at all, in fact, they are just as great! Im just saying that other reviews (in terms of motor trend and such) make the other cars seem bland to me, and ONLY me.
Fabio Neto that's not strictly true, top speed yes, but round a track not really. although it can beat them, if they're all in identical conditions and tires etc then it's the slowest, but I still prefer it

@amarjit singh Things is, with high BHP you need a really good engine which is not cheap, not to mention actually driving it in the first place if you are inexperienced. I'm all for it in racing though, imagine the lap times on Nurburgring or Sarthe...
this machine was way ahead of its time, its mclarens masterpiece and the way Clarkson makes u feel about this car is astonishing, the emotions u feel from a video of a machine just shows that this car stood above all and it will always be my favourite and dream car
the thing that i love about top gear is that its mostly a laugh but occasionally you get a car that blows you away and the production that goes behind making such a cool video like this is brilliant
This generation of hypercars is the golden age. The P1 for raw brutality, the 918 for incredible precision and handling, and the LaFerrari for aesthetics that match the performance.
@6:50 i love how the light reflecting off the side of the P1 from the top of the front wheel to the rear wheel - it gives it that sleek curve which just flows all over the beast. yes there are quicker supercars than the P1 but there won't ever be anything that will look or have the curves like the P1, like Chris Harris said when he drove it "you could look at the thing for hours" he's not wrong
2:31 - Obviously, I've driven a Bugatti Veyron, that has more than that (HP), but he has 4WD and it weights more than most mountains... I died here, I litteraly died here, and I'm typing this from a coffin
Even after all these years and all the new hypercars, this is by far my most beloved car ever. I’ll put the F40 just right after it. Such a beautiful car. Incredible
***** Let's be honest though - that's not going to stop these middle-aged chaps from racing them, is it? Remember when Bugatti won't let TG lapped the Veyron when it was new? They get around that with borrowing one from someone who bought one, which i imagine should be the same way with la LaFerrari. ...... unless of course Ferrari being communist towards its costumers (in the case you said, restricting the owners to race it against the hybrids or else get their cars returned, probably. Is that what you heard?), which to me is unsurprising. We all know Ferrari is the most arrogant car company ever since it was inherited from Enzo. That's because it's their prototype. This is the car that is always used for magazine tests. Like how Ferrari always give that red LaFerrari and Porsche give the silver 918. They give the red and white one if it is Weissach Package.
Probably His! Lol
Neel Iyer its P1 OOV
LEGENDARY P1 00V
I still comeback to this video years later, shows how Legendary Jeremy and The P1 really are
Ahh... The good old days... I remember the thrill watching this particular episode with so much anticipation and it paid off, TRIPLE! I've missed you Jeremy, and your bloody mates Richard and James.
I agree... The new one is not very entertaining! I don't think they'll continue the show after this series. R.I.P. Top Gear.
I highly doubt that they are going to be bringing it back RIP Top Gear
Chris Evans brutally murdered Top Gear. :(
+Katzen4u Agreed! I Heard he quit.
olaniyi570 Yeah, but it won't make a difference if no more seasons of TG get renewed :(
3:04 “They should have called this the widow maker!” Something about that line keeps me coming back to this review
"Let me just slow it down...." *slows down to 80 mph*. Best thing I've ever heard and seen.
Tony Marier on a track 80mph is like 50
Never get tired of the sounds that car makes.
3:52 that is so satisfying I can't recall how many times I've seen this and it still gives me goosebumps somehow
I’ve watched this video at least once a year for the past 9 years
Of all the videos Top Gear and Jeremy Clarkson have done, I have to say this is probably the best, cinematography, music and humor blend it so well. It touches your heart.
from 6:24 on is a filming Masterpiece, the music, the slow motion footage and the script could not be done any better - as soon as he says "it could rip a hole thru time" - the music, the shot of him fighting the steering wheel nearly has me shedding a tear
But then at 06:56 i fell of the chair laughing, when he talked about "Brilliant British Engineering" that allegedly has been around for centuries, and I started thinking about what manure the British car industry designed and sold in the 1970s, 1980s and until the entire British car industry went totally down the drain
@@sukhmaidickoff Some are saying that you are from Eastern Europe, others - that you are a know-it-all that always gets things wrong. All we know is that you are a representitive of some uninspiring vanquished nation.

What about the mclaren senna?
I dont know how many times I've watched this...maybe 20? One of the best car pieces ever, ever made. Astonishing.
This is still one of the greatest car reviews ever put to film. The car drifting like its on the ragged edge which it probably is. The absolute glory that is Spa as a track and of course the legend Clarkson giving us the amazing voice over and review we want. This video is legendary in the car world in my eyes.
I swear to god this is the most beautiful car period
+Quayshawn Dameron I certainly agree with that.
Yes i know
+Quayshawn Dameron Well personally I prefer the Huayra, but the P1 certainly is AMAZING
+Quayshawn Dameron agreed
+Quayshawn Dameron Apparently you've never seen a Ferrari 250 GT Lusso.
Almost 2019. Still watches this clip to make me emotional. The points.. The music the car and. Ofc the clarkson 😍
Moments like this reminds us how brilliant Top Gear was. Tears are running down my chin.
sexiest car ever 10/10

Second most beautiful thing now bc of the Senna

3:15 That was brilliant editing
The cinematography on this showcase and on the 918 is the best ever on topgear and outclasses most of not all current car shows today, it's amazing how many chills these 2 videos gave me
This is possibly my favorite car review, ever. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Between the words of Jeremy and the cinematography, it is incredible.
ur not alone
Remember how Jeremy can’t say silicon carbide when he tested that Porsche Carrera GT😂
Exactly! i thought He will do that again :P
Oh my
Liu Jason just watched that
What was the joke there? That the chemical formula was SiC?
Nathan Latham watch the episode where Jeremy tests the Carrera GT, you’ll get what I mean.
in my opinion, the utmost beautiful car every build to date! no.... beyond that...
True
Hmm... Even prettier than the P1 GTR or LM?
Sander Kamp yes
by far!
Its subjective i guess. I hate the headlights.
I don't even care about cars but i keep coming back to this video. It's just art. The cinematography, the commentary it's all just so amazing
Weaponising a windfarm. Turning the rainbow warrior into an oil tanker. Love it.
I am in complete favor of both concepts. Any idea how long it will take R&D to figure them out?
First time seeing spa. Fell in love with it that day.
Engineers. You gotta give em props.
Totally agreed man. I'm not an engineer myself but I think engineers are some of the most underrated people. Things like finance or being a doctor have that 'wow' factor instantly to a lot of people but engineering is so lit.
This is my favourite car of all time. I know I'll never ever get to drive one, but I still love it.
This is definitely my dream car.
Yeah, mine too...
Work hard xD Untill you buy it you'll be 80 years ;D
Maarttiin 675lt is a damn good one too. just bought one last month and my god....it's everything just as i hoped!!
Mitchell Toulouse oh, man. I just googled that car. Can I be your friend? Would you pay me fly tickets from argentina to wherever you are so I can drive it? hahaha
with 1,6 mil its a dream come true
One of the great car reviews of all time anywhere. Thank you, Jeremy, for your art of mixing deep knowledge with humor.
This is seriously one of the best pieces of car cinema ever produced. I've watched it so many times lol.
The way he presents it is just master class and I almost forgotten that I was South African for a moment there
Back when Top Gear meant something to the world...
The way that man describes cars is beautiful
one of the gratest clip from Top Gear, love to rewatch this from time to time. Clarkson was greatly impressed and excited - so inspiring and pure
it really doesn't matter what kind of car Jeremy Clarkson likes.... if he really really really loves a car, he does make ONE HELL of a review. it really shows how passionate he likes it, it makes the laferrari and 918 reviews bland. idc that it's slower, I'm in love with this car as well :)
It's not slower , it's actually faster than both
Fabio Neto that's not strictly true, top speed yes, but round a track not really. although it can beat them, if they're all in identical conditions and tires etc then it's the slowest, but I still prefer it
What’s weird is that when some other people did the P1, 918, and LaFerrari on the track, the P1 was the fastest
Possibly the greatest (unintentional) ad ever. I'm sold, how much?
My soul? Sure why not...
When the p1 is in Race mode, the Eletric Motors help the v8 to launch with low end torque ,and when the v8 is changing gear, the eletric motors kick even more.
it's called "torque fill"
Wow, almost ten years on and this episode still gives me chills. Amazing machine, one of my most desired cars to own ever.
I met this very car at goodwood a few years ago, still get chils thinking about it now - a legend in its own right and jez absolutely does it justice here
I had tears rolling down my cheeks by the end.... What a review... Jeremy is a god
same, this video brought me to tears
Really one of the greatest films I've ever seen. Jeremy clarkson is one of the most important part of automotive journalism.
Me:how much HP does it have
Mclaren: all of them!
meanwhile a family car made by Koeniggsegg has 1700 bhp like it's nothing, and it's a FAMILY CAR FFS
@@toronto543ontario6 To be honest though, 1700bhp on a family car, why? That's some LMP1 type shit, in a family car of all things goddamn
@@toronto543ontario6 At least they should take the engine design, make it better and more efficient and slap it on a new car that goes 550km/h+ or some crazy shit like that
@amarjit singh My point is, 1700bhp is ridiculous for a family car. But if they can pull it off with that hybrid, imagine what we will have in the next decade for hypercars
$35,000 a month for 72 months. Tempting.
+wreckinplankton You might want to look at getting a lambo, they're currently doing 10 year financing lol.

A bit of saving could have me buying one for my grandson or granddaughter... but first find a wife, one needs a son or daughter to get one of those...
@@Joke9972 Don't get a wife or else they'll take all the money you would use to buy a P1

@@shaneh1872 i believe it's even more gorgeous in real life?
I was driving behind one in the outside lane and I was so taken aback by how gorgeous the car really is and before I even knew it it was gone
That's a hard flex
the thing that i love about top gear is that its mostly a laugh but occasionally you get a car that blows you away and the production that goes behind making such a cool video like this is brilliant
This generation of hypercars is the golden age. The P1 for raw brutality, the 918 for incredible precision and handling, and the LaFerrari for aesthetics that match the performance.
💯💯
This was peak television. Peak Top Gear in terms of cinematography as well.
Hands down the best car video on RUclips
This is the ultimate car. Period. Even in 2019.
Bugatti hit 400mph tho

Mclaren is literally better mechanically in every wtf are you talking about
Every 2 years I always rewatch this video. Some of the best Top Gear videos ever! Clarkson was a perfect guy to make a review on it back in the days.

Incredible
To this day I think this is the best single performance car review they ever did, absolute perfection
The end gives me goosebumps, the music kai p1 logo with the rain over it... Its brilliant, good job Maclaren.(From a greek)
We're still waiting on the P1 / 918 / LaFerrari comparo, guys! *GIVE!*
Tim Dev Which is suspicious all by itself!
Tim Dev Judging from the competition, I think they should be!
The Ferrari The Ferrari
***** Well isn't THAT telling as all hell!!! _Merde, alors!_
An example can be seen with the way they sale Ferrari Enzo, that is lol
Still one of the best super/hypercars I've ever layed my eyes on and it's more than 10 years old now
I remember my dad telling me about this car when I was 6,this car is work of art and engineering
