Sure, a car is a living organism ~when~ you have a million-plus dollars / euros / pounds to spare ... what most of us get to drive from point A to B is a different thing altogether, far more mundane, utilitarian, and devoid of romance or inspiration.
I've seen lots of in-car videos of various machines being put through their paces over the last few years but this baby takes the biscuit. From 5:10 onwards it's jaw dropping the torque smoking the tyres in every gear. Incredible. I am very proud of McLaren for making such a beautiful and cool looking motor. Come on, Lotto!
I've watched this video at least 50 times, over the years. And this car STILL remains my "white whale". It is a piece of exquisite art. Just breathtaking from every angle. And a symphonic sound that just captivates the senses, every single time. And those flames ... It is literally a fire breathing monster on any race track. I have an MP4 ... and it's probably as close to owning a P1 as I'll ever get. But that's OK. I'll keep loving this miracle of the human spirit. The ALMIGHTY McLaren P1.
Everyone is getting the same reaction from this car and saying it is the greatest car ever. I think this is the only car that I could want more than a McLaren F1 which I think is the greatest car ever. They've raised the bar once again.

AMAZING!! It doesn’t matter who is driving this car for a review, every single driver has that moment where they are so “Awed” by this fantastic car, they literally forget the review and submit to the awesome experience. It gets me teary eyed every time. One day i hope to feel this for myself, one day.
I bet you the reason this car warns you not to activate race mode on a public road is because in race mode the car lowers to just a few centimeters above the road and since the seats are so low to the ground to give the car a lower center of gravity, your ass is basically just a few centimeters above the road when in race mode. So if you had to hit a bump on a public road when in race mode, you would most probably be ejected straight out the sun roof LOL!! The funny thing about this review is that when Chris Harris drove this car, a guy who has excellent driving skills, he wore a racing helmet and concentrated intensely, yet this guy who looks like your average office worker, is driving the car just as ferociously as Chris in a very relaxed manner lol. The exhaust note of this car seems to be more pronounced than in the video with Chris Harris. Yet it still does not come close to the exhaust note of the Ferrari 458 or Ferrari F12. The only sports car manufacturers that make cars with decent refined sounding engines are Ferrari and Aston Martin. This car shoots more flames out its exhaust than a Lamborghini Aventador. Awesome!

Looking at him wrestle with the car, my assumptions have been confirmed. The handling of this car is more direct and blunt, which makes it a better pure drivers car. Of the 4 current headline Hypercars, the P1 is the most difficult to drive.
I have to say....that was one of the best car vids I have seen a long time. The money shot was the wing with the flames behind it. Awesome, just awesome

Different auto journalists have different approaches towards reviewing a car. Meaden was quite speechless after he had driven the P1, so was Steve sutcliff from Auto car. However, this car being the top rival for the benchmarking Porsche 918 spyder in the hybrid supercar niche, the numbers had to be explained. One thing all these journalists agree on is that this car wasn't anything they had ever driven in their life, and we are talking about good 60 years of motoring journalism. WOW !!
Before the P1 reviews poured into the internet, I thought there will be a good fight between P1 and 918. But now... I doubt it. Poor Porsche, they must wish they have done a more performance focused specs instead of the 3.3L/100km target.
Funny,i was never really a big porsche fan. I loved the 917 and,the 924 or 928 or whatever it was. and the 959. LOVED THAT ONE ! HOWEVER,i love the 918. JUST LOVE IT. Then the nose,DIVES ,when you jam the brakes and,IT LOOKS LIKE A 1975 BUICK 225 GOING AROUND CORNERS AT ANYTHING ABOVE 40MPH. It looks like a cruiser,more than a track car. Nicolai Riasaka In short, if anyone else is wondering, he left EVO for a job at Jaguar/Landrover's ETO-division. They'll do limited editions and provide more personalisation options. A bit like Mclaren's MSO wing I think
