never understand why people have to slag cars like this off,its not to my taste but you got to appreciate the time, effort, financial demands and after all its fcuking fast!!! brought back memories of when i was a lad as my dad only ever bought vauxhalls, victors and ventora's,the ventora was a 3.3 monster ...job well done :)
"And things got serious when he added the stickers..." You mean to tell me things weren't serious when he was swapping engines like a mad man and added those two King Kong size turbos?!
beautiful, well thought out fabrication. Sooooo many manhours in that it would add up to a short lifetime! It looked pretty streetable...tunning today is just amazing with more and more making over 1000 hp, having ac,stereo, power windows, etc. But yours is something else in a class of it's own. Looks like a child could jump in it and go 8's...goes so smooth and damn straight. Sure you rule the streets there.
@MrYukon04 true, i suppose it depends on what you mean by fastest. top speed or acceleration. this car was built for 1/4 mile, and it does it very well, the veyron is a good all rounder, does corners, straight lines and high speed.
For the record, Andy Jensen ran deep into the 6s at over 200 mph in his street legal Corvette years ago. I personally witnessed him make back-to-back runs of 7.09@197 mph at Cecil County Dragway way back in 2001. That said, the Red Victor is badass!!!
@sonic911 i agree but what you also have to remember with the veyron is it has been tuned down to about 1001bhp if you unleashed the full 3980bhp of the veyron nothing would get anywhere near it lolz and it wouldn't be mpg it would be gpm lolz and if you went mpg u would be looking at say .5mpg lol if your lucky lol
amazin what ya can do with big block motors..and to think ya drive it in England is even better!!! Hats off to ya! Only problem i have is a friend of mine in Michigan ran a 6.83 @211 on DOT tires and plated as well! 7 years ago. You can watch the video on you tube if you type in Keith Hill Project Heads up....Owner of the car s name is Bruce Kimmen
Youll have to check out Scott Lowery XLR,,,, The Caddy is street legal... easy mid 6 sec. car... the thing still has power windows... 632 bbc with twin 90 mm turbos.... Wheelie bars are just pined on.... they come off in about 5 min.
@StreetsofyaMum the Bugatti is advertised to go about 252mph stock. These drag strip cars, can go up to 300mph. and this one is STREET LEGAL. the German craftsmanship has been out done, many a times over.
you could build a custom block under the supercharger that would allow for the intake from the turbo to be hooked under it... would probably need an anti blowback valve of some sort too keep backpressure off of the turbo... it would eliminate turbo lag off the start and the turbos could then provide more boost than the supercharger at redline,,, not saying its a great idea
You're right, but how many people will actually own this particular car? Not too many have the money, love or patience to make one this good so I say "KUDOS" to him.
@ScaRau I've seen that car in the videos before, and it does show it running around on the street.... but I've never seen any track vids or time slips. Until then, Larry Larson's 67 Nova is quickest street car. It won Drag Week (1200+ miles in 5 days, running 6.9-7.0 at 205+mph 1/4 miles at 5 different tracks with no support vehicles) at least 2 times, and has multiple sub-7 sec passes (at least 2 vids on youtube of them).
How am I wrong? Did I say no-one will own one? You say you have 3 street legal sub 8 secound cars that you built with love, patience, and a whole lot of money. Good for you. Send us the link so we can check them out. I love these types of cars, I just coudn't possibly spend all that time on them, it's just not me, but I respect and admire those who do. Nuff said.
this is like any other case. You can buy a gaming computer for 6k or build one for 3k. You can buy a racing car for 400k+ or build one for 100k. You can buy a mansion and pay 8mil or build one yourself for 2 mil. Go to a dealer to repair the car and pay 2k or fix it yourself for 300 bucks. Your paying for the brand and the work that goes into it....not the actual parts.
incorrect, the engine block was the original US one, but the rest of the engine from rods to turbos was build/rebuilt by this guy, hence 'British Craftmanship'
from the site: 0-60mph =1sec 0-153mph = 4.8secs Standing 1/4 = 7.6secs on pump gas and 315 MT drag radials standing 1/4 = 7.41and 197.6mph on ET streets and VP Q16 so far....... top speed = 223mph ,and no bodywork came off. This was done at Bruntingthorpe Sept 2008.That speed attained in a slow 19secs due to excessive wheelspin and coming out of the throttle(which was 1/3 down max!!.
finally, somebody makes a video titled "worlds fastest stret legal car" is not talking about thier honda civic beating a v6 mustang that wasnt racing him
@mustangrules well by old car standards, remember the 7 liter in the corvette zo6 is considered to be a small block. by whose standards, i have no idea. seems pretty big to me
@t0myuri teflon would be ruined running in a high-performance engine: at around 270C it loses most of its mechanical strenghth. you can get temperatures like that in the whole block easily, let alone inside the pistons.
The Bugatti Veyron has the greatest acceleration of any production car to date, reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) in approximately 2.46 seconds. According to the February 2007 issue of Road & Track magazine, the Veyron ran the quarter mile in 10.2 seconds at an exit speed of 143.6 mph. This car did it in 7.8 at 183 mph. And for about $1 million less. For that price I'll take 2 and a home on the beach!!
well to a certain extent though. high hp cars out perform bikes because of the ground to wheel friction. cars got 2 wheels to push bike only one. plus weight distribution and other factors
'NOS' isn't flammable at all. It's actually nitrous, NOS is just Nitrous Oxide Systems - the company. It's a substitute for air, as it's more parts oxygen than air. So in the same amount of space, you've got more oxygen which means you can get a more explosive power stroke for the same volume. I.E. increase in power as long as the nitrous\fuel mixture is entering into the block.
@stlchucko you raise a fair point. I don't agree that this is the most powerful road registered car in the world as the video suggests though. Hadfields Chevy puts out at least 3000BHP
@lordofthestrings237 yes but the veyron has a limiter at 415 km/h the Koenigsegg has itself the limiter on 417 the thing is they did not even tried to push it to the limit all right the bugatti has the 1200 bhp, but the koenigsegg has the low weight
Because some people like to not have what everyone else has! Me: i have a 1984 toyota supra(2jzgtte swap), Last dyno'ed at 764whp, 691 lbs., and people ask me whya supra?! i say cuz chevys, fords, all that stuff, i wanted somethign that wasnt EVERYWHERE and popular as hell, this guys got a good idea goin
You can't honestly expect this car would stay in one piece going as fast as the fastest production cars. I mean the Bugatti frame was built specifically to handle 250mph. This car was built to handle 100mph. I mean he has probably done a hell of allot of strengthening but panels would just start peeling away at 250mph. They said he fitted it with nitrous so if he is using that to make those records it really shouldn't count, it's like cheating.
i think the guy who's talking at the last part is just simple minded! Everyone can add as much as horsepower in the car (theoretically), however bugatti causes that much is because it's WELL BUILT, every single curve or design has its purpose, eventually every single density of the car worths every single penny!
I saw an article in Hot Rod, Worlds Fastest Street Radial Drags. Third Gen Camaro 2300hp twin 105mm turbo 6.0 liter LS engine. Ran 6.90s at 202mph. Can't find it on internet, but if anyone has a link please send it. The guys name was Rick, I think, and he owned a company in Calif, called Turbonetics. Not saying it's the fastest street car in the world, but certainly faster than this very respectable red car or any Nelson racing rig I've seen. Geez, now my 10 second cuda is a slug.
Try building a car to run with a particular type of tyre that doesn't provide all out slick grip and then deploy your 2000hp without roasting the tires on the line.. It may "only" be a 7 second run, but the MPH @ the top end speaks volumes.. 197Mph in the 1/4..
@matthewrockslol22 sleeper means when you have a car that looks completely stock but you have a fully built engine that no one knows about and surprises everyone
they dont, turbos are like air turbines they generate they're own air, compress it and blast it into the combution chamber while superchargers use air from outside compress then blast it into the fuel combustion chamber.
no mate I didn't mean somebody else beat them, I mean the testing was done in the Salt Flats in the Western U.S. It's where most of the testing is done...
At the end he makes the comments about how companies spend millions on cars, and then people at home building faster vehicles... I truely believe that if the car market today was all about speed then we would have some very intense cars out there.
Bugatti COULD make a car to beat it, but nobody wants it if it gets 5 a gallon. You have to remember, it's still a business, no matter how much passion.
family has to make sacrifices?? I hardly doubt it. in the us building things like this is possible and still pay for everything else everybody else want in life too. I never sacrificed for my fathers motorcycle habits.
4:11 Until he drives through Missouri and encounters Larry Larson's Nova. His personal street legal hot rod that has a number of 6.9 sec quarter miles. Check out a vid of him on Hot Rod's Drag Week or run the number in Vegas then leave the track to cruise the strip.
0-183 in 7.802 seconds. I don't see a veyron coming anywhere close to that. It takes the Veyron 4-5 miles to get to it's top speed of 256 or whatever; the SSC takes 3 miles to do 260. The new owner of Mike Moran's 95 Camaro, named Casper, does 200+ mph at 6.8-6.9 sec 1/4 mile and it's steet legal.
Whatever you will do in life....it will never be as awesome as THIS CAR
I'm sorry you are right. I had not read about that until the other day. Thank you for straightening that out.
never understand why people have to slag cars like this off,its not to my taste but you got to appreciate the time, effort, financial demands and after all its fcuking fast!!! brought back memories of when i was a lad as my dad only ever bought vauxhalls, victors and ventora's,the ventora was a 3.3 monster ...job well done :)

"things got really serious when he added some stickers" LOL
True, but that was on a previous iteration of the powertrain.. It ran a nitrous motor before moving over to twin turbo power..
a quarter mile in under 8 seconds... damn
oh yeah and tim lovejoy at the end for the win! LOVEJOY!
For the record, Andy Jensen ran deep into the 6s at over 200 mph in his street legal Corvette years ago. I personally witnessed him make back-to-back runs of 7.09@197 mph at Cecil County Dragway way back in 2001.
That said, the Red Victor is badass!!!
LMFAO "it got really serious when he added stickers"
I love it!!! a Bugatti killer built in a home garage... classic!
Bring on red victor 3 ;]
Size of the turbos are incredible on this, the ones for 3 are just unreal
"things got really serious when he added stickers"
each sticker adds 50hp... lol
1:26 Things got REALLY serious when he added some stickers. BWAH ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

5 miles to the gallon @ 3.41.
good job, i like it..

yes hold tight wolverhampton !!! no way i didnt no we had this driving on our streets!!!!! i never seen it !
The stickers make this car so fast!
Thing's got REALLY serious when he added some stickers!
the host looks terrified of that car
Holy crap, how is this thing street legal? AMAZING!

that car could FLY!
WTF.... so nice legal dragcar...RESPECT

possibly, but shops can custom build engines as well
Man, when he started that car... all that smoke... lol. surely is street legal.
Agreed. Then he'd be able to take him out for a beer for a consolation.
this guy drives from gas station to gas station XD
dudes a mad scientist.
If your talking about this car in the video, its legal, it has headlights and so on, so its legal, as long as it has treaded tyres its good to go =)
this is like any other case. You can buy a gaming computer for 6k or build one for 3k. You can buy a racing car for 400k+ or build one for 100k. the brits still have the landspeed record on 4 wheels.
it hasn't been beaten up to today.
from the site:
0-60mph =1sec
0-153mph = 4.8secs
Standing 1/4 = 7.6secs on pump gas and 315 MT drag radials
standing 1/4 = 7.41and 197.6mph on ET streets and VP Q16 so far.......

I don't always drive sports cars, but when I do, prefer the Red Victor I
finally, somebody makes a video titled "worlds fastest stret legal car" is not talking about thier honda civic beating a v6 mustang that wasnt racing him
Midlands engineering at its best!
lol "Then things got REALLY serious when he added some stickers." Somewhere out there some ricer just came in his pants.
@mustangrules well by old car standards, remember the 7 liter in the corvette zo6 is considered to be a small block. by whose standards, i have no idea. seems pretty big to me
Stickers always make it serious!
the stikers are what make it go

look what it take to make it the fastest street legal, the veyron has satilite radio, smooth suspension and so on.
The presenter is the love child of Craig David and Gareth Gates.

Lol. He was defending the UK and you ripped into him anyway. Good Work.
"Ingland".
I lol'd.
the look it's all about taste man.....i like it tbh....u are a next gen car fan i can bet, like buggati (don't get me wrong almost all young ppl are)
rofl. wicked home-made car. 7 seconds!
those stickers must make him really fast
Don't spit that cool wall bullocks at me.
@stlchucko you raise a fair point. I don't agree that this is the most powerful road registered car in the world as the video suggests though. Hadfields Chevy puts out at least 3000BHP

Forget the CAR !!!
Where's that petrol station !!!
Killacycle goes from zero to 60 in .9 seconds!
This car is BEAST
Roaring V9.3 engine
Awesome !!!
my comment flew way over your head and landed behind you lol
@racecrazyXD this video is old. he's upgraded it some more. it's expected to get about 5s for quarter mile. it's having teflon pistons etc.
You can't honestly expect this car would stay in one piece going as fast as the fastest production cars. I mean the Bugatti frame was built specifically to handle 250mph. probably drives a prius to work everyday to the tampon factory

Right, it's apparent you've never heard of an American publication called "Hot Rod."
and the fact that no police car can stop you ... but they can retrace you pretty much easy lol
That is sick... I'd love that torgue in my own Honda Civic :D rather then a bugatti
damn, a 7 sec. car.
holy shit!!
I love how the passanger/host guy while in the car dosent even ware his seat belt.

Bet he wishes he had started with a 2 door...but it is an amazing car.
they dont, turbos are like air turbines they generate they're own air, compress it and blast it into the combution chamber while superchargers use air from outside compress then blast it into the fuel combustion chamber.
yes your right there is a rule you not aware of it doesn chuck blue or gray smoke out at idle or 2.500rpm it will pass emission and this is in britian
no mate I didn't mean somebody else beat them, I mean the testing was done in the Salt Flats in the Western U.S. It's where most of the testing is done...
Bugatti should take lessons from this guy. He did it without 10 intercoolers.
At the end he makes the comments about how companies spend millions on cars, and then people at home building faster vehicles... I truely believe that if the car market today was all about speed then we would have some very intense cars out there.
hi andy u have done a good job with this car its nice and fast i like it a lot
Yes, it does say that in the video, but like the guy above me said...That was an EARLIER combination, not this present twin turbo set-up.
Bugatti COULD make a car to beat it, but nobody wants it if it gets 5 a gallon. You have to remember, it's still a business, no matter how much passion.
if he took that car to the drag strip in USA it wouldn't even be in the top 25 cars
When I owned a 1969 FD Victor with its 2000cc lump it took longer for the oil pressure to build up than it does for this to reach 60mph??
yep, its a 550+ cubic inches, ive heard of 702s which is like 11. something liters
family has to make sacrifices?? I hardly doubt it. in the us building things like this is possible and still pay for everything else everybody else want in life too. I never sacrificed for my fathers motorcycle habits.
thats my line, i love it

@faithless1988 Jonny Smith obviously didn't notice the interior door latches..
