hey genius mclaren f1 is the most sought after car in the world and is the non official best car ever made. Only stupidest of stupid people would chose a bugatti or anything else over this car
A much better choice. You can have 2 sexy girls with you, or carry the family around with 1 kid, or use the 3rd seat for a golf bag, and carry 3 people's worth of luggage in the car, get a range of over 450 miles on a tank of gas on the highway and listen to the most glorious V12 engine of it's era and run on street tires. With the headlight upgrade, night driving is no problem. If you're lucky, you might even find some cars with upgraded brakes. And any problem, Mclaren will literally fly in and fix it for you. Hope you've got the money...
If the Need For Speed series taught me anything about racing games, it's that your problems can be solved with a McLaren F1 of sorts ("basic" F1, F1 GT, F1 GTR, etc).
I can hit 240 in NFS Most Wanted (2005 version) with my Porsche Carrera GT, but I need to put the aerodynamics as high as possible so that there's less downforce and use nitrous, but then I crash into a wall because the car is way too slippery lol

As the owner of those cars said: its an investment. As some cars getting cheaper while it gets older, these car in this case is the opposite. Back then the cost of these cars combined might been around 2 million pounds, today it might be x10 that. Is quite an awesome investment :)
This video was shot more than 8 years ago. Thats pre-2005. At that time, the then "new" Enzo cost close to a million pounds, and the F1 was already on the 1 million mark. Today, one of these cars will cost you more than the combined price of these two at the time of filming. And the reason that white McLaren costs so much as 14M is because its one of the very few, of the already very few (less than 100) models to exist, to be painted white. And yes, these cars are as much investments as they are toys to fool around in on a track.

This is one of the most special moments in auto journalism history. Every few years I come back to watch this. This The Enzo needs no introduction. As amazing as this episode is, it's also heartbreaking. Analog race cars are a thing of the past. This is an experience that a very, very niche group of people will only ever be lucky enough to experience. As well as reminding me of my age. Moments like this are a thing of the past. The visceral, euphoric sensation that this man is experiencing, and is subsiquently transferring to the viewer is a moment that is incapable of being experienced now a days. Words can't explain. Then there's TopGear. As fun as FithGear is, nothing will ever compete with the great three! In a very special episode, while driving an Aston, Jeremy Clarkson explained the heartbreaking truth of how these special machines were a means to an end. This episode can't help but remind me of that episode, which is bitter sweet in and of it's self. Just thinking about TopGear evokes emotion. The realization that these machines will never exist again, reminds me of the ending of the greatest show in history.

@@redfactionELITE Yeah, as well as the interior one of the ways you can tell is the window banner. On this one it says ‘McLaren GT’ or ‘GTR’ but on the LM it says ‘F1 LM’
This is F1 GTR racing car converted to street legal kids, not normal f1 or even F1 LM. This thing is incredible and so rare and valuable probably zero for sale right now.
The Mclaren F1 is without doubt the more rare and exotic of the two, not to mention worth more. Enzo is around 2 million dollars, while the F1 is a staggering 20 million!(If not more as this is a LM).
holy shit that Enzo has aged well What 2003 cars out there could pass for a 2015 model? McLaren has aged well too but the standard F1 is starting to finally show its wrinkles.
+Randal Graves disagree. enzo shows its age clearly. no way a current car would be that weird smooth-squared shape. it would have way more fluid lines and probably a lot more frills. just look at the laf.
+GraveUypo I think the Enzos front fascia and profound peak nose can pass easily in 2015, bot to mention the doors. The only thing I'd see of age is the interior, but it can also reminisce a pure race car feel. I think it'd almost ahead of today's time...
Randal Graves my S2000 till this day gets lots of looks and many ppl question me .I've had it 14 yrs ....it never gets old .Just better....9,000 RPM motor with over 300k ...tell me it gets better then that !!
I'm just starting the video, I already prefer the McLaren. The name the look the style. The pedigree. But all that takes a back seat to just being a mechanical automobile. No power anything other than windows. Fantastic. Romantic. Exceptional. Emotional. FREE!
Because all they want is to listen to crap! Fifth Gear, is for pure petrol heads who really understand cars. Top Gear, is a stupid entertainment program! with a piano player a rat and that big twat Jeremy! not one of them even knows what a gudgeon pin is!
This bloke lives on Hall Balk Lane in Barnsley, I saw him take delivery of a Pagani Zonda many years ago, he must be completely loaded. Its a small world!
I remember I was a little girl and didn't understand English at all, but I would still somehow find this clip 14 years ago and watch it again and again just to see the McLaren F1 LM ❤❤❤
I'd have the F1 any day. If it were released today, it still looks like something modern. And the central driving position is awesome. The Enzo is what it is. I've always been a little iffy about its styling, but anyway, I would take the McLaren, no question. Especially one of those GTR versions.
I’ve been in both and they’re still just the most beautiful cars. The Enso is timeless and stunning. I still remember the first time I saw it at the Los Angeles Auto Expo. The F1 selling for $15 million now at auctions... insane. Love em.
After almost a decade of casual searching, I found it: Album: Vocal Soundscapes 2 Artist: Daniel Knight Music: Moby Duck (not available to listen on youtube or spotify...)
That’s a genuine F1 LM as well. Crazy. I watched this vid when I was younger, and said that it was an LM, and someone in the comments “corrected” me and said it was one just of the regular f1s fitted with the LM body kit. But after finally doing research, I was right! It is a genuine LM. One of only five customer cars in the world. (There is technically a sixth, but it’s a prototype that is pretty much exactly the same as the finished product. Mclaren keeps it at the factory.)
Cmon Tiff....Ferrari's finest achievement was the F40....CMON!! You know better Tiff!! I'd take the F40 over either of these two ANY DAY.....Just my humble opinion.
The F40 would be my second choice not the enzo ..for me Nothing beats the F1. I remember years ago we came out of Oulton park with my mate, who had just finished building the UK's second RS500 cosworth engine swap into a old P reg RS 2000. It was running about 350bhp which does not sound much these days, but in a striped out light car, with only two seats and no door cards, carpets or mirror , it was quick , and used to spit out four foot flames. Anyway he used to take his car to Collin's enginering , where he met a young lad who's dad had Nigel mansels old F40 and the lad Jason had a 500bhp saphire cosworth which his dad had bought for him along with a number plate CLAS 5Y ..Think they owned a denim import business. Anyway coming out of Oulton Park we spotted them a few cars up ahead in the Que to leave . We all came out on the road and my mate took a few cars and got behind Jason. Next thing we notice his dad flooring his F40 and his son too. We could'nt belive it , his dad was really pushing it , we ended up in a race all around the area which must have gone onfor thirty to forty miles, it just did not stop .. at one point the F40 that was in front was almost writen off after he pulled out as a capri was turning the bend.. because it was LHD he had'nt seen it. Although the F40 was quicker the differenc between that and the 500bhp cossie was about the same gap as we had from the 500bhp to us in th RS . Racing on a road against a car like that for such distance around country lanes and B roads was pretty special at the time. But looking back on it now I realise how special a moment that was to be in a full on race with such a legend of a car and being Nigel Mansels old F40 just makes it more special. Thought I'd share that with you , just got lost in the memory writing that lol
4:37 look at that engine start sound man!!! omg that is pure orgasm, that V12 sounds so glorious and visceral! BMW did make it a beast! Even today, it's a worthy adversary to modern supercars.
In my opinion although it's a tough choice, I'd take the Enzo. It's a car ahead if it's time come to think of it. A car that was made in the early 2000s and had features and design of a car of the early 2010s
Top Fitness Yup, Race GTR converted for road use. Because of the Papaya orange color many people here think that this is the LT. That's as F1 as it gets, of course a normal F1 would be more comfortable to live with. Anyway, the owner is so blessed!
I really wonder what happened to this little collection? This guy had a very long sight and got 2 of the quickest appreciating cars of all time, and certainly THE 2 coolest cars ever. Good guy, I am sure he enjoys the fruit of his investment!
Christian Arreguin for Ferrari's PR, yes. Telling customers that they, "weren't worthy of the F50's greatness" may not have been the best move. They did the same thing with the enzo, but people were used to it by then. In every way shape and form the F50 was designed to be the ultimate Ferrari. After all, it has an engine taken directly from an F1 car (and that engine was bolted directly to the chassis!) Unfortunately, Jeremy Cockster, the number one most famous car reviewer accused it of being "too hard core." Since a lot of people quote Jeremy like the Bible, the F50 has developed a bad reputation. Most true car fans know that this is not true. It is without a doubt far superior to the already great F40 and it is much more pure than the watered down enzo. This is why the F50 is worth over 4 times it's original price and it is only continuing to become more desirable.
The Mclaren isnt really a road car. Its a race car, which happen to be road legal. Just listen to that engine noise. Its pure race car sounds. Might be exciting for a short blast, but in reality the modern day Malarens including the P1 are much more usable.
The normal F1 is definitely comfortable enough and useable everyday. It came with air conditioning, electric windows, a 10 disc Kenwood CD stereo system and of course, all the sound insulation. And you get three seats and more boot space than a Ford Fiesta of the time.
Mclaren F1 is the normal Road Car Version. LM or GTR version are the race car version sort of but they can be in normal caolors with out sticker`s.etc like the one in this video. @@Duffers999 proof? GTR?
@@redfactionELITE The proof is in the video, Tiff even says it’s a converted race car. The 5 LMs were built as road cars.
@@Duffers999 so it's a GTR converted to road? Thought it was an LM
@@redfactionELITE Yeah, as well as the interior one of the ways you can tell is the window banner. On this one it says ‘McLaren GT’ or ‘GTR’ but on the LM it says ‘F1 LM’
2:55 vs 4:37 which one has the better sound?
kornholigo F1 all day
4:37 is pure muscle car!💪
I like how the McLaren is now worth about 14 times the Enzo compared to almost the same back then.
I love both but the F1 is a different class itself. More rare, unique and exciting than the enzo
4:38 when that F1 starts though...
That's not just an F1. That's an F1 LM! One of only FIVE in existence!
+Quentin M It's actually not an LM. It's a full GTR race spec model that was converted for road use and repainted to look like an LM. Cunning devils.
ImBarryScottCSS Well dang. I got excited. They say that the only people that know who owns LM's are the owners, and family/friends.
+Quentin M There will only be 4 if Clarkson gets to drive it lolololololololol
This is F1 GTR racing car converted to street legal kids, not normal f1 or even F1 LM. This thing is incredible and so rare and valuable probably zero for sale right now.
TheAceHD there's only 5 made and will ever be
Well they built 107 F1's total so doesn't matter. They are still extremely rare and expensive
What's the song at 5:50 - 6:05
This video will be historic in 30 years when all cars will be electric. Ford, GM, VW, and BMW all concur. Engine noise will cease to exist...
The Mclaren F1 is without doubt the more rare and exotic of the two, not to mention worth more.
Enzo is around 2 million dollars, while the F1 is a staggering 20 million!(If not more as this is a LM).
I'd 2jz swap the f1.

holy shit that Enzo has aged well
What 2003 cars out there could pass for a 2015 model?
McLaren has aged well too but the standard F1 is starting to finally show its wrinkles.
+Randal Graves For an early 90's car it's doing not bad.
Randal Graves the honda s2000 could pass for new Imo
Randal Graves my S2000 till this day gets lots of looks and many ppl question me .I've had it 14 yrs ....it never gets old .Just better....9,000 RPM motor with over 300k ...tell me it gets better then that !!
I prefer the look of the standard F1. it's such a sleek pure design
Agreed.
The GTR looks better I think.
Cool
+Leocomander wtf you mean GTR looks better than the F1 i love the GTR but the F1 is a masterpiece
Yep
I'm just starting the video, I already prefer the McLaren. The name the look the style. The pedigree. But all that takes a back seat to just being a mechanical automobile. No power anything other than windows. Fantastic. Romantic. Exceptional. Emotional. FREE!
Song with piano at 7:50 when McLaren exits at narrow street please ???
A dislike already? Within 2 mins of upload? Dont know why people hate fifth gear '-_-'
Because all they want is to listen to crap!
Fifth Gear, is for pure petrol heads who really understand cars. Top Gear, is a stupid entertainment program! with a piano player a rat and that big twat Jeremy! not one of them even knows what a gudgeon pin is!
angelo luis James would probably tell you about the history of the gudgeon pin for three hours
I really think James knows absolutely nothing about engineering or cars. Just an actor, who learns his lines the night before.
angelo luis I love Top Gear, but i love cars too! So Fifht gear is a good program for talking a bit seriously about cars.
angelo luis You do realise people can like both instead of liking one programme and hating the other right? It's not a religion...
That McLaren is now 23 million
I'd prefer to take both of them. Instead of fighting over which one. Both of them, that's right. Two car garage from Heaven.
Finlay Downham-White I know right
Lol they were simply being compared. And it was one man that owned both vehicles therefore he had the garage from heaven
I check in on this video every few months, one of my favorites
Tiff by far the best presenter as a true lover of cars. He could team Ricky Gervais a thing or two about delivery.
I may be wrong but a McLaren f1 just sold at Pebble Beach for 11 or 12 million dollars, A pretty good investment from 1 million original price tag.
This bloke lives on Hall Balk Lane in Barnsley, I saw him take delivery of a Pagani Zonda many years ago, he must be completely loaded. Its a small world!
He owns/owned an Italian restaurant in Barnsley. I would assume he has other business interests too.
The Enzo was made for Enzo.
That's why it's a solid feeling ride and has manual window handles.
I remember I was a little girl and didn't understand English at all, but I would still somehow find this clip 14 years ago and watch it again and again just to see the McLaren F1 LM ❤❤❤
i love this guy and his driving skills. Watching him from more than 20 years
A unique review. Actually giving the cost of maintaining these cars. Good info. Didn't realize how expensive it can actually be.
And this was in 2006 too, the prices must've gone up by a ridiculous amount since then.
two legends .... one name and other performance ❤
3:20 what are those??
Seriously?!
+carbon felge small thermonuclear explosions in the engine bay
+carbon felge something you'll never feel.
+Mike Wollinger you know he was talking about the shoes correct?
+Mike Wollinger roasted
Anyone know the background music at the start?
As a former commercial pilot I do appreciate the yellow car.
If I had a passenger I could a challenge and respond check list.
As a true McLaren F1 lover, no second thoughts when choosing the McLaren F1 LM over the Ferrari Enzo.
The McLaren F1 will never truly be beaten.

The F1 selling for $15 million now at auctions... insane. Love em.
There's something special about Tiff Needell. Totally different style to Clarkson, but you respect his views just as much.
F1 always in my heart (despite not being in my garage).
the Enzo looks stunning. you have 0 taste if you think such a car is ugly.
Shut the fuck up
AAAAaAHHHHAHAHAHA
mclaren f1 is better it just is
Who gives a shit for the Enzo when there is a fucking F1 LM

That’s a genuine F1 LM as well. Crazy. I watched this vid when I was younger, and said that it was an LM, and someone in the comments “corrected” me and said it was one just of the regular f1s fitted with the LM body kit. But after finally doing research, I was right! It is a genuine LM. One of only five customer cars in the world. (There is technically a sixth, but it’s a prototype that is pretty much exactly the same as the finished product. Mclaren keeps it at the factory.)
For me it's the F1 anyday at anytime!
Cmon Tiff....Ferrari's finest achievement was the F40....CMON!! You know better Tiff!! I'd take the F40 over either of these two ANY DAY.....Just my humble opinion.
I'm inclined to agree with you but for me there's just something about the f1 I can't say no to
The F40 would be my second choice not the enzo ..for me Nothing beats the F1.
Welcome to July 2019 - Like if you are still here for the McLaren F1 :)
Best car ever!!
Covid quarantine watching. It never gets old
3:33 The 288 GTO, their first flagship supercar 😢
4:37 look at that engine start sound man!!! omg that is pure orgasm, that V12 sounds so glorious and visceral! BMW did make it a beast! Even today, it's a worthy adversary to modern supercars.
In my opinion although it's a tough choice, I'd take the Enzo. It's a car ahead if it's time come to think of it. A car that was made in the early 2000s and had features and design of a car of the early 2010s
A car ahead of its time? You just summed up the McLaren f1 lol
The F1 is a bit more special than any other car, but for driving, especially on public roads, I for sure would pick something else.
+RJ Lee Well that was the LM version so a standard version say with a LM spec aero kit would be much more comfortable
Top Fitness Yup, Race GTR converted for road use. Because of the Papaya orange color many people here think that this is the LT. That's as F1 as it gets, of course a normal F1 would be more comfortable to live with. Anyway, the owner is so blessed!
I can't get over how amazing that McLaren sounds
Real car presenters, interested in the cars, not themselves. Top man Tiff!
I really wonder what happened to this little collection? This guy had a very long sight and got 2 of the quickest appreciating cars of all time, and certainly THE 2 coolest cars ever. Good guy, I am sure he enjoys the fruit of his investment!
I wouldn't say the enzo was the pinnacle of the F series. More like the F50 (which is more period correct as well), but the enzo is one sweet car!
wasn't the f50 a disaster?
Christian Arreguin for Ferrari's PR, yes. Telling customers that they, "weren't worthy of the F50's greatness" may not have been the best move. They did the same thing with the enzo, but people were used to it by then.
In every way shape and form the F50 was designed to be the ultimate Ferrari. After all, it has an engine taken directly from an F1 car (and that engine was bolted directly to the chassis!)
Unfortunately, Jeremy Cockster, the number one most famous car reviewer accused it of being "too hard core." Since a lot of people quote Jeremy like the Bible, the F50 has developed a bad reputation.
Most true car fans know that this is not true. It is without a doubt far superior to the already great F40 and it is much more pure than the watered down enzo. This is why the F50 is worth over 4 times it's original price and it is only continuing to become more desirable.
Great comment I agree with you about the f50
alvarulanda Thanks mate! Educating the world about the F50, one Jeremy Clarkson fanboy at a time! ;)
Yes please do. Everyone's needs to know the truth about that car and not believe everything jeremy says.
The Enzo everyday and two times on a Saturday!👌
2 Million pound at the time of production...now well over 10 million....
I love the Enzo but the F1 is from a different galaxy. Totally explains why it is valued over $20 million today.
Genuinely miss watching Tiff Needell on a regular basis. Great guy
CLeqarly see`s the air intake on the Sides of the hood. and the Spoiler thats a gtr lm only had spoiler Specs alsoe whas different thoe. Mclaren F1 even had Guiness record for Normal car Max Speed of 386km`h (km`t my contry Norway)even mpore if chekk wikipedia.eks if you have Played NeedForSpeed HP2(from 2002) on ps2 u can chose the normal one or LM version gtr whas in NeedForSpeed RoadChallenge/High Stakes. you can alsoe Search for the Mclaren F1 and history/info. :)
Dat BMW engine doh.
Don't care about what's more [to you] usable; I'd rather have an F1 than a P1.
The Mind of Sorin Amen to that!
Combined value of £2 million haha more like £20 million
This video is from like 2004 dude. C'mon lol
In 2020 prices, an F1 by itself is 20mil...
Oh my God the screaming BMW engine in the F1. I want it now.
