This car was my childhood, I remember the poster in mine and my cousins old bedroom, and a little car model I stole from him, I always loved this car but as I matured and grew older it slowly became my favourite car, and today it’s my definitive dream car
The Enzo was the first car that I was able to identify, I was five years old and I knew what it was,... to this day it’s my favorite car, and I got to see one in person once it was amazing !
I love the way people are asking why is Nick Mason so special to be selected to be one of the lucky people to get an Enzo. Nick Mason has been a Ferrari customer/collector for over 40 years. I suspect he has owned more Ferraris than most people have had ordinary cars. The highest prices for investment-grade autos have been achieved through discreet private sales. Owners of other Ferrari GTOs, who include Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, have recently received offers between $40 million and $50 million from prospective purchasers, dealers said.Mason was among the GTO owners convening for a 50th-anniversary get-together in France in July 2012. He was joined by the Goldman Sachs banking scion Peter Sachs; Rob Walton, chairman of Wal-Mart; and Lawrence Stroll, the financier who built Tommy Hilfiger into a global brand in the 1990s.
The Enzo is from an era, when computers managed mechanical engineering, not controlling them. Where formulas of mechanisms had to be manually calibrated. Just like the Carrera GT (who the same company produced the carbon chassis for the both the CGT and the enzo) demonstrate. A true masterpiece.
I love watching this 10 years later. How amazing those machines were then (still are) but just how much further with the engineering and design we have come today, it really makes you joyful for the looming future!
@@dillank3240Yeah, the future of performance cars, and cars in general, is very bleak. SUV's, trucks, and EV's...a total snoozefest. There's nothing to look forward to anymore. The V8's, V10's, and V12's are dying. The W12 and W16 are gone. Engineering marvels. Now I truly understand why I collect vintage car magazine.

A guy that lives down the street from me knows another guy that restored an Enzo. And not just any Enzo. The one with the most miles, one that was actually totalled in a crash. I've sat in that car. Got about 70 pictures to prove it too. I love that car
Just after 7 min Jeremy comments that he believes we've reached a peak of supercar perfection. Then some years later we get the Huayra, LaFerrari, 918, and the P1 along with the One:1, Vulcan, and the other cars coming soon. One can only imagine what will exist and what track times we'll see in a decade's time.
There was a farmer who owned a tractor repair company who was a big fan of Ferrari cars. One day he bought a Ferrari and was disappointed to see the engine wasn't much better than his tractors. So he went to the Ferrari company to give them advice but was coldly rejected. The manager their was furious that some farmer tried to give Ferrari advice on engines. The farmer got home and vowed to make better cars than Ferrari. That is why we have the Lamborghini today. Ferrari still seems to show a lot of arrogance. " you were chosen by Ferrari" lol
No it he didnt, it was only the clutch that was broken and he wanted a better replacement since the clutch was the same one his tractors used. Ferrari rejected him because a tractor producer couldnt possibly know more about sports car than ferrari. He wasnt even a farmer, he was a mechanic during ww2 and after that he started a tractor company and a gas heater and air conditioning manufacturer. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Lamborghini#1963-1972_-_Ferruccio_Lamborghini
Korenoob Peekay There isn't much difference I would say but the guy already was a successful businessman, so that definitely helped him a lot. The rest doesn't matter a lot in the story. The moral values might be a bit more conspicuous not too much. I just wanted to tell you that it wasn't exactly accurate. I do agree with you though Ferrari was a huge dick about and they still come off as an arrogant company. :)
Can't believe that it was that long ago. Just think, The Mercedes SLR McLaren, the Porsche Carrera GT and the Ferrari Enzo were the best of the best. Technology could not get any better. Now the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and the LaFerrari. How times have changed!
I was thinking the same thing, those almost feel like "classic" cars now. I hope the P1, LaFerrari and the 918 will be looked at years from now like these are.
I've been watching this for years, and i still smile like a moron when he brilliantly uses Pink Floyd's titles... just perfect... absolutelly perfect. In love with the car for years and years, and obviously a huge respect for Jeremy Clarkson... just amazing!
there's no one who can design a peak nose on a such beautiful car than ferrari itself ... for me the most special designed car ever ... very classic and beautiful and the v12 6.0 l sound naturally aspired it's legendary... whom who designed it ...respect
Back when Ferrari had soul. Nothing was touch sensitive and rear lights that look like everything else. Ferrari was bespoke, real and utterly damn brilliant
People who are saying look how far we've come with supercars from this, more than 10 years, when I don't think we have evolved car experience so much so as just piling horsepower on top of another, nowadays, it is not about experience and excitement, it is just simply how to make more money without seeing what enthusiasts want, that is my opinion
I agree! More computers handling everything. More power with forced induction and electric motors. Faster acceleration using super fast automated gearboxes. It seems to be all about statistics and not about the driving experience. Then again in the used car market there's a huge amount of choice for average people to choose from if they want a sports car which delivers driving pleasure. I encourage people to get one. Don't let it be just something you'll do some day.
Cause it wasn't a real upgrade to the F40 (the stats were almost the same), its engine was mounted directly to the chassis, so the car was very uncofortable and noisy and it was rumbling. And it looked to...curve-shaped
I've been working inside Ferrari factory for a while years ago. I sat in many Ferrari's. Just sat, haven't drive, but still a great feeling. My favorite by far is Ferrari 149 California.
The guy who designed this car was Japanese (Ken Okuyama), half of Ferrari engineering department is German, and their F1 team is almost entirely British. Nothing wrong with that though, this car is like what the international community can do when we come together.
Something I realized, this was the last Supercar that I fantasized about... Maybe I just grew up.. But I don't think so, this is one of the last of the true "raw" drivers cars. The P1 and 918 are "technical masterpieces" but are just big nerd mobiles. The Enzo, F1, F40, S7, hell even the R34 GTR, FD RX7, and MK1V Supra were the pinnacle of "Driving Masterpieces" and even more just raw insanity that separates the men from boys if you can tame one. I hate this current trend.... Long live the 90-00's!!!!
Sorry, but you're just getting old. You call them nerd mobiles because you're anti-technology and your opinions are based on pure nostalgia for the good ol' days. The 918, P1, Agera etc. are fantastic machines. Turn the traction control off if you ever get into one if those if you're man enough and you're looking for a "real" driving experience.
"you can't help thinking that we really have reached a peak, that supercars today are approaching a state of engineering perfection" it's wild that the models of this era really were the very last in the analog sportscar lineage. DCTs, driver assists, forced induction all became the standard in the coming years.

The Enzo was the first car that I was able to identify, I was five years old and I knew what it was,... to this day it’s my favorite car, and I got to see one in person once it was amazing !
Same, it’s my first „favorite car“ I can remember. Still haven’t seen one to this day :(
Love the very subtle product placement 😂 Nick Mason is the coolest guy on Earth!
4:35 hands down the best moment from this video
exactly
1 of Jeremy's best reviews
Not really. All we have awaiting us are silent boring electric cars. Bah!
Clarkson: "Engineering perfection"
Pagani still making one off Zondas: If it ain't broke don't fix it
money!
coming back to this classic is a pleasure
Why didn't they play "welcome to the machine" or "On the run" white driving?
"Ive never known such savagery" One of his most iconic quotes.
I've seen one of these, an Audi R8 and a Dodge Viper parked at a car wash one day, in the middle of fuckknows New Jersey
+MrChiefBlackhawk ill see if I have pics to prove it, I know I took some but it was a few yrs ago
+MrChiefBlackhawk ok fairly certain it isnt an R8 but idgaf about audi's so I don't know what each one looks like but

+MrChiefBlackhawk I live in Jersey!
A guy that lives down the street from me knows another guy that restored an Enzo. And not just any Enzo. The one with the most miles, one that was actually totalled in a crash. I've sat in that car. Got about 70 pictures to prove it too. I love that car
The puns are awesome!!
nick mason is a badass.
To this day I'm still waiting for the Lotus Collin
Or the McLaren Bruce
Im so obsessed with Pink Floyd I'm searching for the tiniest Pink Floyd references I can find in my favorite shows
And freaking out
Hands down my favorite Farrari. More beautiful than the LaFerrari in my opinion. Love driving mine... on Gran Turismo 🤦🏻♂️
it's my favorite flagship ferrari i suppose. but i like the f430 better.
That kind of machine truly belongs to somebody like Nick Mason, one of the most musical drummer in rock
Forgot the c-x75. Even tho its just a concept car
this was a simpler better time for cars I have to say. this CAR will never be beaten for its time
I also come from the future, President Hillary started a war with Russia and now Lada is manufactured in Detroit , it costs 3000 rubals.
Bob Jan lol, I come even more from the future. Want to confess? :-)
until we run out of petrol :-P
No FHD video, but this is masterpiece video forever

Yorick Derksen Well done. Maybe my version is close enough and moral values are more conspicuous?
Korenoob Peekay There isn't much difference I would say but the guy already was a successful businessman, so that definitely helped him a lot. The rest doesn't matter a lot in the story. The moral values might be a bit more conspicuous not too much. I just wanted to tell you that it wasn't exactly accurate. I do agree with you though Ferrari was a huge dick about and they still come off as an arrogant company. :)
I'm not arguing with Yorick.
Le Moulin De La Galette Sir Feruccio was a astrology nut and a taurus that is how he got that outrageous bull that sits on every Lamborghini.
Well in that case times haven't changed at all hahaha
I was thinking the same thing, those almost feel like "classic" cars now. I hope the P1, LaFerrari and the 918 will be looked at years from now like these are.
I dont think anyone at that time thought that we would be making a hybrid supercar within 20 years and not for the reasons that they made them.
@@snyc42 Times do change indeed.
I've been watching this for years, and i still smile like a moron when he brilliantly uses Pink Floyd's titles... just perfect... absolutelly perfect. In love with the car for years and years, and obviously a huge respect for Jeremy Clarkson... just amazing!
3:30 all that build up for clarkson to misshift on a flappy paddle
All you had to do is press the right button
The way Clarkson included those Pink Floyd references were genius!
One of my favorite reviews. Classic Top Gear. I love Pink Floyd and the Enzo
3:40 My Bloody Valentine - Soon
Very surprised to hear this here
Subwoofer Dildo yes
there's no one who can design a peak nose on a such beautiful car than ferrari itself ... for me the most special designed car ever ... very classic and beautiful and the v12 6.0 l sound naturally aspired it's legendary... whom who designed it ...respect
This review is incredible. The Enzo will be forever my dream car.
me too
At 0:50 I thought he was going to say "sponsored by audible".
😂 😂
I remember watching this while eating some of them tiny doughnuts from Sainsbury’s and getting so gassed over the shear sight of it
2021 and i still love this classic car of Enzo Ferrari.
time is very kind to Enzo it still looks gorgeous
The Enzo has always been my fav car ever. It's seriously sad to see how far we've come. I remember when this was THE shit
5:02 back when 1300 kg was considered heavy
Wonder what Jeremy will say about the new M5
Can't wait for the LaFerrari review.
Its just gonna be jeremy driving it and richard and james with rags over their faces so they dont have to look at it.
treatb09 And him screaming: IT IS STUPENDOUS, ITS ASTONISHING, ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS.
I love top gear.
i will never understand why people doesnt like f50, its my favorite car of all time.
+Emre Karaman
the F50 ist better.
+Sebastian Diehl I didn't say is better I said its the best
Finally someone understands, The F50 is the greatest and beautifulist Ferrari. The Enzo is about the same status of course.
+Chicken tikki masala Yeah the F50 is a slow and heavy piece of crap
Cause it wasn't a real upgrade to the F40 (the stats were almost the same), its engine was mounted directly to the chassis, so the car was very uncofortable and noisy and it was rumbling. And it looked to...curve-shaped
I've been working inside Ferrari factory for a while years ago.
I sat in many Ferrari's. Just sat, haven't drive, but still a great feeling.
My favorite by far is Ferrari 149 California.
Wow, they have placed My Bloody Valentine - Soon in 3:36 - 3:58
The guy who designed this car was Japanese (Ken Okuyama), half of Ferrari engineering department is German, and their F1 team is almost entirely British.
Don't forget the Carrera GT!
Alex Zevallos
Sorry, but you're just getting old. You call them nerd mobiles because you're anti-technology and your opinions are based on pure nostalgia for the good ol' days. The 918, P1, Agera etc. are fantastic machines. Turn the traction control off if you ever get into one if those if you're man enough and you're looking for a "real" driving experience.
@@EvilTim1911 You just don't know what you're talking about.... NERD. They're not fantastic machines. The cars are TERRIBLE without traction control.
@@Firemarioflower lol stay mad
"you can't help thinking that we really have reached a peak, that supercars today are approaching a state of engineering perfection"
it's wild that the models of this era really were the very last in the analog sportscar lineage. DCTs, driver assists, forced induction all became the standard in the coming years.
