@@Dazlidorne it kinda already is. Though it tends to be for charitable events, specific motoring events. It’s not generally open to the public.
For a private collection, Jay has made it remarkably accessible. He didn’t have to make all those videos, but he has. He doesn’t have to employ those staff or invite in all those events, but he has. That’s made him pretty unique so far as private car collectors go.
What becomes of his collection after his time (may that be far off into the distant future)? I don’t know. But I’d not be surprised if the way he chooses to dispose of it was public spirited in some way or other, at least to some extent. At the same time if he had opted for its private sale and dispersal, well I’d be still thanking him for all the truly fabulous things he has done for us car nuts.

@@dazzaMusic They go up in value anyways. None of them are owned by nobodies. Nobody is buying these just because they're star-struck over who owned it before. People pay those prices because it's the only way to get the car. They only made like 300 of them. And most of the people who bought one, didn't buy it to just sell it later. There are oil billionaires in Dubai who weren't even born when this car was made, but they really WANT one. So when one comes up for sale, a bidding war breaks out. You don't have to be Jay Leno. You could be Joe Blow, and if you put your F1 on the market, it would easily make insane money. Nobody really knows what these are worth right this second. Cus usually, there isn't one up for sale in any given second, anywhere in the world. So no matter how rich you are, you just can't have it. And nothing drives rich people crazier than being told "You can't have it". That makes them want it even more.

We need more people like Jay in the enthusiast world. He has the money to buy and maintain some of the most precious cars ever made, and the guts and the love for the cars to actually drive them so normal people can enjoy them. I hate to see cars bought at auction and then disappear into someone's garage to accrue value, never to see daylight until they're sold again. It's hard for me to describe but for me, a car that just sits in the garage and isn't used has no value. It may have monetary value, sure, but if you're so afraid to drive it because you may get a scratch...like I said it's hard for me to describe. As a detailer who's worked on some of the craziest Arabian cars on the planet, here's a pro tip for cleaning glass and getting rid of the cloudy stuff:
Go and get some simple isopropyl alcohol. You can generally find a spray bottle from your local pharmacy. Just make sure the ingredients are no more than two items: Isopropyl alcohol content (70% or higher) and aqua (water). Some of the products in pharmacies might have things like moisturizers in them. Make sure you're getting something that's just isopropyl and water. Note, if you're going to do your own mix, then be very careful of the water you use. Tap water or filtered water might leave spots or white marks. Distilled water works better.
Get a clean microfiber and use the isopropyl mix to clean up the glass. It works great. I generally do not apply any kind of glass cleaner afterwards, but I might apply a bit of sealant or nano-coating on the outside that doesn't let water stick, but that's not needed. This works on ALL glass surfaces.
You can also use the same isopropyl to get rid of stubborn marks, adhesive residue, and general cleaning before polishing. It also is a great way to get some of the modern touch screen and giant dashboard displays super clean without any kind of residue left over.

He might have done it but they might not have shown it. He is getting clowned on a lot in the comments but I doubt he would have made that tip and not done it himself (even if it didn't make the edit).

The vents are powder coated, not painted. You won’t damage that with blue tape.

Its not always down to the quality of the polish, its down to the quality of the person doing the work. In my humble opinion.

I mean how dirty could it actually be? When we had cars come in that wasn't dirty, we'd just liquid wax it. Early 2000s

Hence the pre detailing spray. No need to if it’s garage kept and they use the detailing spray.

I think I would rather listen to the pros who were hired by Jay to clean the car. Not someone acting like a Justina and can’t even spell properly
