I dont think Leno is funny at all, but I respect him as a person... No one has bad things to say about him outside of a professional setting, and what he does in a professional/behind the scenes setting has no impact on me...
As a Union guy i know he said he voted against a paycut but still took it anyways to save his crew. Admitted they were good union people just trying to make a living and how he used to live paycheck to paycheck. He also acknowledged he already had 15 million so he would be ok with doing his side gigs. Nobody wants to take a paycut but he chose too. At any time he couldve chose a different avenue to continue his wealth building. New cable deal, couldve had the crew laid off, demanded less of a cut. But in the end he didnt so kudos to Leno from a Union worker. 👍👍
$15mil seems like a high number 📊 even for union crew members. I'd add I've done film, set, production stuff. You'll often see 15-20-30 people stand around or hang out then "work" 5min, 10min. On a normal 10hr 12hr day, the film crew might work 90min total.

mattcolver1...Ha...watching and listening to Jay as a heckler in the audience must have been outrageously funny..!!
Really? 99.9% of comics I know don't heckle other comics. It's kind of a rule.
They'll fuck with one another relentlessly before and after shows, but interrupting a set isn't a game pros play.
@@AdultsOnlyMagic but it IS something Leno would do..
It was probably prearranged, Jay is not a mean person.
@@AdultsOnlyMagic Just the opposite for musician...during the Beatles years in Hamburg, they threw insults back and forth with their audience all the time!!!;-)...but maybe it's more of a European thing....
Jay his a great guy! Proud to have Americans like him. Great example to others.
Yeah cutting your friends, just ask Conan
@@thejquinn … but you can’t please everybody. Friends come and go .
@@wisl8122 he specifically went back on his word and stole Conan’s show, he’s garbage
I like him so much more than in the past and now appreciate his body of work. He seems so genuine and taking a 15 million dollar pay cut because he is greatful for what he has is very cool.
I love the stories of when he stops and helps a stranded motorist.
Jay Leno is a good man, and an even better human.
One of my favorites.
But! Hey! We car guys stick together.
Even the devil helps you at first.
This is heartwarming to know he did this- EVERYONE should be this way!!!
Everyone who are rich already..
Silvergirl7, I don't you heard what he really said.

I'm glad I sat in a Tonight Show audience before Jay left. Yes it was fun seeing him, and the guests were a treat...but what really impressed me was how tightly the show was run. Everyone on the crew was right on top of their job like a fine tuned machine.
John B, employees always do better if they're highly content in their jobs. Jay Leno is the same person on and off camera. He got to be where he is now all on his own. Who doesn't like him?
I'm glad too that I got to see him about a year or two before his show ended.
A most humble man, deep respect.
humble!? he sabotage tonight show with conan o'brian
@Harris Biden Joe is that you?
I have to say that being on the younger side of the Johnny Carson era that it didn't seem that they could find anyone to keep the tonight show going the way Johnny did. It took me awhile but Jay grew on me and I think he took the show to a whole new level. I'm glad I kept watching. He deserves everything he has and his story is simply amazing. It's the ultimate American dream story! I think that his success has a lot to do with the fact that he never forgotten where he came from and what he had to do to get there. Many successful folks forget and I think it's many there downfall.
I have lived and worked in The Valley all my life, so has Jay. All I can say is a guy who you can literally walk up to and ask about cars and he'll chat with you for 20 minutes, remember your name, but has that kind of wealth, he just seems like a nice guy. I'm not the only person, by far, who has experienced this with him. He will talk to just about anyone, and is extremely friendly. Drives around Burbank, Sherman Oaks, etc all the time, no bodyguard, no effort to conceal his identity, you can say hi to him any time and he smiles and says hi back.
Most celebrities are not like this, I know from working in PR in the 90's in the area, with lots of personalities. Most of them were also decent people, but they were NOWHERE near as open and friendly as Jay is.
Jay leno is the last late night show host i watched and he is my favorite.
@@hotrox2112 . Craig was not a decent host................
He was one of the best hosts 😎👍
@@hotrox2112 Craig was my favorite but I'm glad he got out before it all turned to shit. I think he could have fallen to the uber-woke side if he as still there.
Kimmel sold his soul
Love how Adam is trying to wrap his head around this! Just like me. Mr. Leno so bad ass
Always enjoyed Jay for his love of cars and sense of humor. This adds a new dimension.
True Gentleman. Always feels so much better to give than receive. Truly humble and real guy.
This guy deserves everything in life. Miss him on the tonight show. Grew up watching him and love his garage!
If you read Jay's autobiography, Leading With My Chin, this comes as no surprise. He really is and has always been an everyday guy who made it big with a helluva lot of plain old hard work and hard knocks.
My favorite part was the story of his dad letting him pick out the car for the family. Won’t spoil it for anyone that hasn’t read it but I woke up my family in the middle of the night laughing while reading that part.
Is that the book that he wrote about 20 years ago? Like the other commenter said talked about his dad getting the speeding ticket in the car that he picked out for him. Plus Jay Leno pancake his dad's falcon
@@TheNextGoogification Yep, that's the book. Yeah, the Galaxie with the police package with the 427, no mufflers, no hubcaps.
Never knew this about Jay. I have alot of respect for a person who takes that kind of pay cut to save his crew.
Well, than you still don't know anything about Jay Leno. Watch this clip again. Leno says he asked who would like to see him take a 50% pay cut to save the crew. There was a vote and he was outvoted. You can't be outvoted on things you want to see happen.
@@bloodtopaz8816 I couldn’t tell if he was joking or not, but I bet he wasn’t.
Secondly, the urban legend about him not spending a Tonight Show check is so Jay can delude himself into thinking everything around him was paid for by standup comedy.
Jay is a super cool guy. Hilarious and a peoples person. I got a selfie with him few years ago. Real engaging person. He interacts with people.
Not everybody will do this a good descent guy with a big heart
I met Leno. Truly humble and so kind. 👍 legend
I’ve always enjoyed Jay Leno. I truly enjoyed a standup performance he gave in a big theater in the late 1980’s in Alabama. He was as personable, on the level, and completely non-arrogant in person as he always seems to be.
I🎉
Jay is a true stand up guy.
There is no "G" in his name...GREED!
Just look at the man..what you see...is what you get.
I admire Jay...You are the man !! Would love to meet Jay before I die.....
Be real…..15 million or 0/no show True stand up guy 😂
Can you explain why he f'd conan for greed?
Sorry to break your bubble, but his birth name is James Douglas Muir Leno, Scottish in-betweens. The good news is it is a small letter g as in not too greedy and "G"ordon "G"ecko once said, "greed is 'g'ood".
To this day we're still finding out now things about Jay that make us love him.
"The Heart is healthiest when the Head and the Hands work together."
Brilliantly said Mr. Leno! 👏🎩👍
Jay Leno is a class act. He volunteered to perform at a dinner while I was in law enforcement for a very small audience in a local L.A. venue. He was very generous and gracious with his talent and time. It was much appreciated and enjoyed. He continually shows he is a man of character.
Well said Jay .."the heart is healthiest when the head and the hands work together."
The brain is literally healthiest too with plenty of exersize, it's been linked to lessening the occurrence of alzheimers and dementia.
That's part of the reason why retirement homes have exersize routines.
The irony is the one who started the Jay Leno is greedy narrative was Howard Stern. Let that sink in
Those like Stern are often guilty of the very thing they accuse others of. At this point I'm certain it's both nature and nurtute.
I was watching Jay guest hosting on the Carson show and one of his guests was Jacqeline Bisset. He told her it was nice to finally meet her. She told him that they had met already. He asked her when because he didn't remember. She said that her Jag had broken down and Jay pulled over and fixed it on the side of the road. He didn't remember it.
This man is a true class act...love you Jay!!
Regular guy. Remember seeing him ride up to the Rock Store on Mulholland Dr. on a vintage motorcycle. Riding about 50 yards behind him was an old German guy also on a motorcycle. That was his mechanic for if/when his vintage bike broke down. True story.
Wow thats a selfless star very humble move to help the working men and women
Nice show. The legends are back.😀😀😀
Both these Gentlemen are Brilliant!! We are extremely fortunate they are part of our lives.
Corolla is a despicable Reich wing piece of 💩!
So true. Thank you Jay
People give Jay a lot of grief, but he seems like a decent guy in every interview I see.
We comes across as A Guy.
Yes...he is all showmanship....
Apparently he is dick when it comes to business but I can't confirm
@@2CanSam1000 Is that why he took a 15 million dollar pay cut, so the whole crew could remain working ?

Same with me; and Craig Fergusson is #2 on that list.
Used to see him all the time driving any one of his cars or motorcycles while I lived in sunland-tujunga. If you waved,he'd waved back and acknowledged you...very kind and humble man. 👌👍
Jay Leno is so down to earth! Truly appreciate his dedication, passion and love for mechanics. Keep up the great work 👍
Wish he was back doing late night, compared to the biased, hateful, buffoons they have on the networks now.
Yes.
I loved Jay’s character on Last Man Standing. He and Tim Allen worked well together.
LMS was one of the best TV sitcoms of the last 20 years...at least the first six seasons
@@IamReallySanta Yeah, the reboot with some different cast....can’t watch it.
@@moparproud3978 yes. I adored Molly Ephraim and while her replacement was fine, I just...... I just couldn't.
@@curtismartin2866 It was drastic. Between the two Molly’s for Mandy (Ephraim and Cook) they were polar opposites, one shorter and black hair, the other taller and blonde. Boyd’s character could have worked, but I also believe Eve was on less and less as Kaitlyn Dever had other projects by that point. Maybe I need to just sit down and watch the final seasons

That was the RIGHT thing to do, Jay. I'm sure they were grateful. I would've been.

Conan did something similar when NBC screwed him over after Jay left, paying his crew out of his own pocket until TBS picked up his show.

Jays a good person that's why he's not on tv any more.
Johnny Carson & Jay Leno "were" the Tonight Show .... what we presently have doesn't even come close ... was never a die hard fan, but if I was up I'd always watch Jay's monologue .... watched Falon's once, perhaps twice ....
How about Headlines? Did u ever watch his Iron Jay, Beyondo, Letter to Russian friend Pavlov, etc. that he would do from time to time.

Stephen Colbert has done VERY well for decades. So has Conan O'Brian. You just don't like their politics
@@Thehandsomeliberal Comedy's not about politics. Like Norm Macdonald said, the moment your lampoons are based in political disagreement it's not funny. When you say "they've done well" I would point at alot podcasts have more ratings. People are tired of the vitriol. Always loved Jay's comedy and watching him on the Tonight Show. Maybe someday his car collection will be auctioned off one at a time with all of the proceeds going to different charities?
Most charities are scams why the hell would he or anyone do that?
I assume that Jay has his cars/museum in a trust that his unused money will fund for as long as it lasts. He has no kids and his wife is a feminist activist so if he doesn't have his cars in a rock solid trust they will definitely get auctioned off by his wife but not for charity.
