WOW! My computer is older than dirt. The CPU and Disk normally runs at 90%-100%. After following your steps the CPU is now at 3% and the Disk is below 10%. I was just about to toss this 8 year old Dell and now it’s working again. Thank you so much.

Its (4+4) GB ram and only 97 GB storage in C drive? What should I do? Its Dell Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 -4210U CPU @1.70 Ghz 2.40 Ghz... Good explanation of regular pc maintenance. I would add though that once a month to click the "Clean up system files" button when in clean manager (1:28). Windows 10 leaves a lot of update files in case of a roll back but it takes up a lot of space. If you have no problems after an update these can be removed.

Thank you for a clear and very useful video, my laptop is now faster but still much slower than it used to be, maybe because the processor is 5 years old. Any other tip to find out why and eventually improve, it's mostly that programs take up to 3 minutes to launch, then they work ok.
It's 100% because of your hdd... Let me tell you my story.... I have 8 year old cpu i3 3rd generation which took more than 3 minutes to boot to windows 10. After my hdd failed i changed to ssd... It was super fast..now my boot time was just 10 to 12 seconds...but ssd is slightly higher price compared to hdd...but ssd worth buying it
Just a heads up to malteser08 and others about defragmenting. There are two types of drives: . HDDs are installed in most PCs and laptops. SSD is faster and better, BUT DO NOT defrag your computer if you have SSD hard drive as it puts too much wear and tear on it and wears it out faster. You CAN and should defrag your computer if it has a HDD drive though to make it run faster.
I wasted a year without writing my thesis and most of my anxiety was due to my slow laptop.. I thought I should do something now so I followed all the steps and even installed then deleted a malware software.. I feel like my laptop is way better now.. Thank you for your work.. one question is it normal for the malware software to take long time to be uploaded, scanning and deleted from the laptop?
You have to learn how to cut off Microsoft's access to your computer... They are continuously tying up bandwidth and resources with "updates" that are loaded with advertising redirects... Microsoft has taken control of our computers the same way that Google has taken control of our phones... ☹️

Change your hard drive to an SSD

Is your hdd full? You need to leave some GBs free (5-7GB at least) to make the computer/operating system run smoother.

You have to learn how to cut off Microsoft's access to your computer... They are continuously tying up bandwidth and resources with "updates" that are loaded with advertising redirects... Microsoft has taken control of our computers the same way that Google has taken control of our phones... ☹️
