Great video! Please ignore the person that wanted you to talk faster. Most of the people watching this video are not very computer savvy… That’s why they’re watching this video. You’ve got way more accolades for your presentation than complaints about not talking fast enough. FYI when I watch other tech videos, I have to slow the speed down because I don’t know what I’m doing. Thank you again for making this video soo clear and concise.
Thank you so much for your kind words!

I don't even need to do this and yet I watched the video because of your explanation

Keep it up bro
I wish you all the success seeing the amount of hard work and patience you put in your work
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that.
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop from 11 years ago. I followed youtube videos to swap the hdd for a ssd and noticed a significant increase in speed. But after following your steps in this video, it now runs like brand new. I'm quite impressed. I had no idea so many other processes were running in the background that I didn't need. Thanks for this video.
That is so awesome to hear! It's to great to see 11 year old laptop working as if it was brand new.
Incidentally I have a 11 year old Toshiba with core i3 and touchwood! It's still working fine, much better than my Acer laptop (2016 model)
I watched and then applied Paul's suggested changes and downloaded and deployed the free software on a 9 year old, intel Core i7, laptop running windows 10 upgraded from its original Windows 8 platform. I am very happy to report that I have regained at least 90% of the unit's original performance. To say I am duly impressed with Paul's work and the software is a gross understatement. I plan to share this video with some friends and family that I think will greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I really appreciate it!
I call bullshit, mainly due to it being 9 years old, unless you've reinstalled windows and started fresh, and the fact you don't have an SSD tells me you gained enough back due to clearing old files and making space on your HDD, that it somewhat sped it up, but not 90%. That's a windows reinstall level of performance my dude.
@@situatedillness Perhaps a significant improvement in performance claim would decrease your hyperbolic response tendency.
@@situatedillness For sure. It might feel faster, but in no way can 90% of the lost performance be gained on a Laptop...
Hey Charles if you say it works i'll give it a go :)
Brought my old laptop back to life! Best video to wake up your old PC! Thank you so much!
This is still so relevant. Thank you, Paul!! My computer feels different and your tutorial has really made me feel confident to try for myself -

Great video, thanks for the information.
Thank you very much; I was weary of my computer's lag and slowness, which prevented me from finishing my job on time.
I followed Paul's guide, precisely up to and including the free Pegasun download, at first it was actually slower on boot (there is a warning about this, stating it'll need a couple ,or so, reboots after the modifications, can't remember where I read it though) now after a couple of reboots the start up is much, much quicker, thanks Paul great advice and thoroughly recommended
Hey John, thanks for the feedback! And yes that's correct. The first few boots are going to be slower as caches are being rebuilt cleanly.

And the most important tip of all:
Clean your computer physically of dust
True but for non-tech savvy people, it might be intimidating opening up their desktop/laptops to clean it.
Basically me never really opened up my desktop but what's the easiest and effective way to clean dust without tearing apart everything lol?
@@Amahyze777 Just take off the desktop cover from the side. For laptops, unscrew the bottom trey and remove it. Then, all you should do is suck up the dust from ALL components using a vacuum. Make sure to use the crevice tool attachment. That's pretty much it. Do not use compressed air though.
@@Pegasun sounds good I'll have to look into it soon ! And what's wrong with compressed air ? I thought it was safe or w.e also doesnt vacuum cause electric?
@@Amahyze777 Vacuum has been perfect for me and is the recommended way. It sucks up the dust vs. compressed air, which can potential push it further into the case/components. Don't think it causes electric, never heard of that happening before. Probably don't do it on top of carpet, in case there is static.

Wow! What can I say! As a windows user from the 'dark ages' I can say I've not ever used a Utilities package like this! I see the light! Run it, tweak some stuff, run it again.. . . There seems to be no limit to what is possible with all the options available. Just why every technician doesn't have Pegasun Utilities in their tool kit, is beyond me! Thanks again Paul.
If you want more clean options from the Windows Disk Cleaner. hit the Windows key + R. In the run box copy and past this: Cleanmgr /sageset:65535 & Cleanmgr/sagerun:65535 and hit Enter. This will give you more cleanup otions in the cleaner.
Thanks for the suggestion Rob. Pegasun actually uses something similar to achieve the more cleaning option built-in from PC Cleaner.

Hey there, that is awesome to hear! I'm really glad it worked well for you (:
bruh, get a new computer at this point
IT Engineer here: here comes an unpopular position. But it isn't to be popular, it is to be true.
You absolutely don't know, what you are doing. Disabling many services, because "they do nothing, just slow down your computer". Firstly, the don't really slow down your computer, secondly, you disable features and create security holes with disabling those services. In professional environments, it is completely unacceptable, what you are doing, but never mind, you are targeting home users.
Many services you disable, are NOT RUNNING! See 17:35, thea are set to Manual start. It means, that Windows starts them, when they are needed for something, they don't slow your PC. But if you disable them, they can't be startet when needed, and you get an error.
Examples:
Application Management: Used mainly in professional evironments, but some software installers need it. If you disable it, you get nothing. But if you want to install a software it needs this service, you will fail to install it, and you won't know, why. Than comes "stupid software", "stupid microsoft". No. Stupid you, because you disabled it.
Application Layer Gateway Service: networking subsystem for non-microsoft networking protocols. Mostly you don't need it. It's also not runing! But for example you want to install an OpenVPN solution, you will need it! But it won't work, because you disabled it.
Connected User Experience and Telemetry: this service collects and sends data to microsoft, you want to disable it, understandable. How pity, if you restart your computer, will be enabled again. You have to disable the scheduled task also. How pity, some UWP Apps NEED this service to install and run. Some .NET Framework Updates will fail, if you disable this service. Do you want windows not to send your data to microsoft? Okay, disable this from Group Policies. Like a System Administrator who knows what he/she is doing... If you disable the service you did nothing but problems for yourself.
Delivery Optimization: it doesn't run, runs only when Windows Update needs it. If you disable it, the only thing you achieve, is problems with your Windows Update.
So you have absolutely no idea, how these services are working, and you don't know what you are doing by disabling them. Will your Windows 10 be faster? Perhaps. With 1%. Insignificantly. But you probably fuck up your system and create a bunch of stability or security problems for yourself. The first part of the video is very good. But disabling services? Don't do it, because you are a monkey with a HE-Grenade.
Even worse is "1-Click Mainternance". You have absolutely no control, what this software does. Mostly deletes orphaned folders and a bunch of cache files and registry keys. The only thing you can achieve is some (a few 10 or 100 megabytes of) free space. But you probably don't know how complex system Windows is and how it works. I personally have experience with such software deleting some "unnecessary" regsitry keys, and some programs didn't start anymore. Or some functions won't work properly anymore. CCleaner had an issue that it deleted a registry key, and some VPN software didn't work anymore. These software are working with the placebo effect: the feeling that you 'cleaned up' your windows makes you feel it faster. But you have absolutely no idea, what happened in the background. You can open security holes with it, and you don't know it. Absolutely NO-GO.
Disabling blotware and some unnecessary features are okay, if it disturbes you, do it. I feel it better to do it from the Windows GUI, and not with 3rd-party software, because on the Windows GUI you know what you are doing. But it's okay.
Turbo mode: where is my shotgun!!! Man! You disable essential services. You disable the Security Center?? Disabling the Shell Hardware Detection service? You won't able to connect a WIA Scanner... Your AutoPlay won't work. etc. You disable Storage Service??? OMFG. System Events Broker? Task Scheduler? Those are absolutely essential services. All of your Software Updaters are working with Task Scheduler. Look it, there are a few dozen of scheduled tasks working in the background. Your browser won't update anymore -> security hole...
So I appreciate that you wanted to help people to get their PCs faster with Windows 10. But THIS is dangerous and contraproductive. I am an Enterprise Operations Engineer with over 200.000 managed Windows 10 Endpoints. And I tell you - DON'T. FUCKING. DO. IT.
Glad I came across your comment. 👍

I've installed win 10 LTSC 2019 v1809 on various computers at my office, there's a new version of this specific Win 10 version, Win 10 LTSC 2021 but it has a shorter support period from Microsoft, which is just 5 years compared to the 2019 version that has support for 10 years. Running all flawless with no technical issues. I haven't customize the iso of the mentioned OS being used for further optimization by using MSMG Toolkit. The machines are fast enough for daily office computation tasks so i don't see any time worth tweaking further. Nice video, though. Quite informative for every beginner. 👍

Hi, I really like how you deliver your content and using an app to make changes for windows to speed up, the premium version though have more value that other programs I knew (can't mention it here) and the pricing is just right, I might consider to get one just to support the author as a way to contribute.
Most of the stuff I already know here but the windows animation makes use of both worlds and I am not familiar with that.
I am looking forward for your tweaks in Windows 11 and hopefully you can re-consider Win2019 or Win2022 server.

Gamers take note: I have an I7-7700K, 16G with a GTX-1080 and a Viotek GNV34DBE 4K 144Mhz Ultra-Wide monitor and as we all know, my rig is getting a bit dated now. I play a lot of modded Skyrim with 4K textures, etc. and although I've got a 4K monitor, my FPS was just too low (35-ish or so) to really utilize it. So I played at 2560x1080 and the game looked very nice, but had occasional stutters. I just lived with it. With Paul's advice and his software - mainly get rid of all that crap running in the background because as he said, no one knows what all that sh*t is or what it's for - I'm now able to run at 3440x1440, have added more visual mods and it runs smooth as silk (only ~47-50 FPS, but hey, it works). Needless to say, the game is absolutely mind-blowing running in 4K. Paul, thank you so much! My order will be in later tonight after the wife gets off her rig! I imagine that Turbo feature has to add a few more frames per sec as well ! :)
Thank you so much for your feedback! I really appreciate it. And I'm really glad your game is working better! And yes, Turbo Mode should help a bit more. Let me know how it goes!
Great video thanks 😊
Thank you paul it helped me a lot heart from Nepal♥
I wanted to say another thing, one of the reasons I really enjoy your video Paul is because you don't talk too fast. Every video I have watched regarding getting help with any PC, I find that the person talks so fast and they go through what they are doing too quickly. If a person has 2 or 3 monitors, it isn't so bad and following along doesn't present such a difficult task. However, having a small laptop and working off one monitor, and constantly re-watching a 20 second part of a clip over and over again; so you can understand what they are doing, because the person presenting has just slammed 2 red bulls is so annoying. Paul thanks for keeping it simple and speaking clearly, and at a good cadence and not rushing through things so quick, you are the only person that actually speaks and presents at a decent pace for anyone...peace.
Thank you so much! I thought I was speaking too slow like some people were saying but many people appreciated this pace as well. I'm glad to hear it!

This was a great presentation! I used to do most of the stuff in Part 1 every couple of months or so and I know how boring it gets. Now I can do everything with just afew clicks. Will definitely look into the paid version! Quick question: to enjoy the paid features, I would have to use the installable version, right? Or would they work with the portable one? You can probably already tell I'm hinting at the "Turbo" feature :) Thanks again!
Hello, thanks for the feedback! All features, including Turbo mode would work with the portable version as well. I just feel a little bit iffy running turbo mode from portable version (even though it can). Since it does quite a bit, I feel like it would be able to perform better as a installed Windows application.
@@Pegasun Thank you very much for your quick reply. Why should one choose Pegasun System Utilities over CCleaner? Besides the good price and pay-only-once feature, I mean :)
@@ivanescualexandru1196 The only thing CCleaner does it clean your PC. I don't think it does anything else. With modern SSDs, cleaning your PC doesn't really make your system faster. Pegasun is more focused on optimizations so there is bit of a difference between them and us (:
@@Pegasun Excellent! That is also what I suspected, but I wanted to read your opinion. I know it's slightly biased because you are, after all, promoting your software, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I love its convenience and that it really works very well. Thank you again!
Wow Paul. I could not count the number of RUclips posts on speeding up my laptop without any success over the past 3 to 4 years. Are you beeing extreme masochistic on purpose?
Please exchange your (spinning) hard drive from the stone age for a SSD!
Why, EVERY PC/laptop using a hard drive is unusable slow when using Windows 8 or newer.
Clone your hard drive to a ssd and then exchange the hdd for the ssd.
Turn on your PC/Laptop and those numbers you mentioned in MINUTES are more like SECONDS!
Every click through the file explorer, every program startup is SO MUCh faster using a ssd instead of a hdd for the system drive.
Why? Because newwer Windows versions constantly access the system drive for reading and writing purposes, so the drive is always used for diverse stuff and when you start a program, the drive is busy doing other things instead of JUSt doing what you just want at that time.
A SSD is a turbo fast USB stick. No mechanics, magnitudes faster access and response times and overall faster + parallel tasks are absolutely no problem, whereas the performance gets crippled when multilple things access and/or read and/or write at the same time with a hdd.
In the past (10+ years ago) ssds were expensive and had relatively low capacity.
But that has changed dramatically.
HDDs are nowadays ONLY used when a really high capacity is need jiust to store data (>2TB).
For many years now, no one would use a hdd over a ssd as the system drive. NO ONE can be that much masochistic!
So... if your "10-15 MINUTES instead of seconds" startup problem is due to the fact of you using a hdd instead of a ssd: I have to say that you suffered completely unnecessary for many years.
Please exchange your system hdd for a ssd (like a samsung evo or crucial mx500 - that would be the choice for 2,5" sata (form factor) drives), please, I'm begging you!
Then you feel what you could have had for full century. And thank me afterwards ;)
So impressed at your timing and professional and knowledgeable approach I am truly grateful and thank you have a Merry Christmas

all these options are build into windows, this program is just a scam. its a work around to do the same thing as the services manager in windows, and deleting temp files and all of that.
but worst of all, 99+% of this program is just placebo. it does not make your computer faster. if you want a faster computer get a faster storage device. processor power is not a bottleneck on modern computers. and all you need is 8+gb of ram. if you dont have 8+gb of ram jsut get a nother computer. because no matter what optimizations you do, your programs will not run well.
windows also parks unneeded ram on your harddrive when it does not have enough memory available. so there is no need to stop services. and the work that these services perform is incredibly little. the telemetry service for examples only sends a single signal once a week. When your gaming, your sending tens to hundreds of those in a second. and its not even slowing your game down.
the spyware/privacy leak section is history for your own use. it shows recently used files in your windows interface. it has NOTHING to do with anyone spying on you.
this program is a SCAM.
ccleaner is placebo too
this guy is just a business man

This is the best video I ever seen like people usually tell to disable these features but they don't tell like what consequences will happen if u disable this program or window services u told us about like exactly what suited u best for and I also download pegasun software it really helps me a lot in optimizating my pc thnx for the help mate and best of luck for ur future mate ❤️✋
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Glad you liked it.
To Paul of Pegasun: That was a terrific presentation. I hope the premium paid program, which looks fantastic and very reasonable priced, comes with a printed or printable manual for reference. For some older people it's not easy to follow the different steps (screens). Thanks.
That's a good idea. I'll bring it to the team and we'll get to it as soon as we can.
@@Necromancer_38 yep plus some features are locked for free users app is complete bs the things u can do in the app u can do in win10 without it

Hi Paul. Great work! My PC is much faster as a result of your tips and utility program. Question: how do I keep Turbo Mode turned on? After I power off and restart it turns off.
Thanks for the feedback JK! I'll respond it to your other comment.
Hey Paul, first of all, great video! I have a question regarding the Pegasun System Utilities, the optimize option, do I need to optimize the PC every time it goes on, or just by optimizing it, they go disable forever unless I do otherwise? Thanks in advance.
Hi Carlos, great question. You only need to do it ONCE. It won't hurt doing it maybe every 6 months or so though.
