Ben being the GM rule boy does so much for clarity. He can check the rule book and resolve arguments without breaking up the flow as much as if someone who was playing had to do it. And it makes it much more fun to watch with his little thematic narrations as well. I love how you guys play these games! Like a grenade doesn't just "hit" it "rolls between your legs." You don't just "shoot" someone, you "hit them twice in the back of the head." Just adds so much feeling and makes it clear you're loving it as well. Would love to see more of this game as, even as someone who's never even touched the video game, it was easy and clear to follow and a joy to watch.
Yeah, Ben is a really good GM. He gets really into it and invested which helps everyone else, including us, get invested too.
I love that Ben is the rule man/GM. It’s so much fun watch you all play these kinds of games.
Also genuinely surprised by how good this looks for a Battle Royal tabletop remake. The minis look great, the tokens look great, I love the accuracy and recoil mechanic, the looting bags look super fun, and it seems pretty faithful.

Ben really transports these videos to the next level, having someone on hand to dish out the rules as the crop whilst still adding to the narrative makes it seem so immersive I love how these videos are done great jobs guys I don’t think an ad has ever worked this well on me because this actually looked like a lot of fun! I'm all for tuning in for Ben's Boardgame Emporium each month, usually find Tabletop Strategy videos clunky but you've nailed the format.

They made a tabletop game out of the battle royale and not of the actual Mech battles with sci-fi anime pilots? Its like Respawn is trying to forget they made Titanfall
I guess mech battle table top games are pretty well covered already with stuff like Battletech but this is the first I've heard of a table top battle royale.
I said it and i'll say it again: My membership to this channel is my favorite investment atm.
Im sure Ben loves being a GM kinda thing and its absolutely fantastic but i would like to see him have fun being a player once in a while

This format works so well. Ben is excellent at hosting the games. Lewis and guests provide great commentary and banter. And the editing is outstanding. It's super polished and deserves loads more views.

That's probably the coolest shooting mechanic I've ever seen in a game, most games just sort of lump all small arms together under really similar rules but this provides a ton of granularity. And while if you had to roll 7 d20s and add cumulative modifiers it'd be an absolute pain to tally up all the damage, but you can figure this one out in seconds. I'd be really curious to see what modifiers were actually taking effect, I'm assuming guns have a range modifier and sight modifier, then you have the recoil modifying that?
I really like that we're finally getting some diversity in the cast now. While seeing the ex-battleboys+Tom duking it out, seeing fresh faces is nice.
The music playing when they describe what they did really sounds like the start of Edge of Seventeen. I keep thinking its going to kick in.
This game seems incredibly well-done. Gives me XCOM 2 vibes with the mechanics. I always love a TF/Apex spin on things.

I do love Games Night videos more like this that aren't just "wargames." I LOVE wargames, but a change every now and again to something that crosses the line into "board game" is EXTREMELY welcome.
This looks cool. As much as I'd rather Titanfall get the attention from Respawn, I can't deny that Bloodhound has such good character design. Having a miniature of her would be cool.

This game has some really high production quality and the guys who made it should be pleased with what they made but I kinda feel like the concept of apex legends as a boardgame is kind of bad, I like some of the mechanics but I don’t like how it is basically the computer game with less players, imo they should have gone for some very different. That’s what homebrew is for though I guess.

I'm not much a fan of Apex Legends, mostly because I'm still upset at how it's taken all the attention away from Titanfall 2, but it's still very interesting to see a Battle Royale translated into a tabletop boardgame!

wonder how their going to work other legends in like mirage will he be able to dodge a damage or make a foe miss , octane loba and alter would all be silmar to wraith moving about but the other fun to figure out
