@@ZKP314 I suppose Spiff hasn't shown up on this channel in a while but he is the Yogscast #1 fan and commenter. I 100% expect and look forward to his keen insight on every upload.
This was incredible. The scenario fitted the films perfectly, it was beautifully balanced. I don't know how you manage it but these are amazing! I'm definitely not biased as an Indiana Jones Mega fan either...
Glad someone else said it. For anyone wondering why, in modern nomenclature a howitzer is any artillery piece capable of both high angle and low angle fire. Field guns are low angle only (like AT guns and such) and mortars are high angle only. A 25 Pounder was primarily used as indirect artillery, but was capable of direct firing as needed.
Everyone's eagerness to make cinematic moments happen really make these videos fun. Looking forward to the next one! Shoutout to the editors for going the extra mile with those blood splatters on the walls of the terrain. Using Sgt Trauma's fate as an incentive for membership, though...you gents drive a hard bargain!
This is SO GOOD! Absolutely fantastic. Ben, you're an amazing GM for these! I really need to get membership. Soon! Honestly, there's so much good membership (or funded-by-members) content on the Yogscast network now. Hat Films' Vault Hunters series, the legally distinct Task Box episodes, these battle reports. You're killing it, guys! Been a fan since around 2010 and I couldn't be happier with all this new content.
Great production quality, sublime special effects! Great storytelling with nice plot twists, top notch! You guys did an amazing job! Thank you so much for this entertaining video!
i am loving this series! it is an excellent return to the roots of all modern tabletop roleplaying: historical wargames, ESPECIALLY with ben acting as GM and having cool rule tweaks to make it more fantastical - its literally from where chainmail and then dungeons and dragons are directly descended so i am delighted :)
I came into this not being sure what to expect and was absolutely blown away by how fun and high quality it was! You guys have done a great job and should be proud! I can't wait to see the other videos like this you've done and I'm looking forward to more in future!
The extra fun bits Ben made for the scenario along with the games mastery rule of cool running of it made this so much more fun to watch than a standard game of bolt action. Thanks for taking the time to make such an entertaining video :)
I think the production value behind these videos cements this channel as the BEST tabletop wargaming channel if all youre looking for is fun to watch gameplay. Sure other channels may be informative, but the format thet Ben and the Yogs have adopted really makes the games they play perfectly consumable. I had a smile ppastered on my face the whole time!
The problem with the plane losing one of the blades is that it would imbalance the prop. At several thousand RPM the uneven weight would cause the plane to shake violently, like a badly loaded washing machine on a spin cycle. The engine and prop would shake itself to bits long before the Stuka took off.
Aerospace engineer here: I expect the imbalanced propeller would fairly quickly cause so much vibration that other components would be damaged until the plane definitely wouldn’t fly.
Some of the new drone propeller that have been designed to reduce noise levels, do actually only have 2 props in a three prop format, but they have a counterweight which would be the main issue if one of the blades broke off There should be enough thrust from two blades if the throttle is kept high to continue flight to a safe landing
Note on the Stuka. The plane was fairly underpowered and needed all of its horses to be able to fly. Most aircraft of the interwar to early 1930's were quite underpowered. Later aircraft and some twin engine planes could fly on half power
That was so cool and Ben being a little lenient made it exactly like the actual films. Driving the car across a pond for no reason is literally what indie would do.
i love that 'scene' of Indy getting thrown off the truck, seeing that the Casket is right next to him, then looking up and seeing advancing British troops on one side, and Germans on the other. that is exactly the kind of scene that would happen in an Indy film. if this was actually Indiana Jones 4, i think the twist would be that Indy _does_ successfully get the Casket away from the germans, breathing a sigh of relief as he gives it to the Brits for safe keeping. only for some british general to open the damn thing, thinking he could end the war. then its a fight against british zombies to secure the casket and save the day! and if it wouldnt cause such a stupid uproar on twitter, the big finale could be that indy actually has to work _with_ the nazis to contain the evil that they unwittingly released when they unearthed the Casket in the first place. in the end, after throwing the casket into the ocean, Indy knows he cant stop the nazis, so he can only watch as they start packing up to return to Germany. but then the big bad Scar-On-His-Face nazi general tells Indy that he respects him, and its a shame they arent on the same side. he admits to having learned from this experience that maybe the Reich has gone too far and no longer stands for the ideals he used to believe in. he returns to Germany a better man. as important as he is, he believes he can raise political support to bring down the fuhrer and end the Reich's atrocities. but we know from history that the war is far from over and that he's doomed to fail.
ben's fantastic dm-esque gamesmastering, the hammy hollywood german voices, the fucking schwimmwagen... what an absolute banger of a video! loving this series, and hope to see more - especially with this trio and the cool effects added in post!
This is the best, most fun battle report I have ever watched. I have never been this gripped to a battle report as I have to to this. Absolutely amazing job guys thanks so much for the hard the work that goes into this stuff it really pays off because I love it so much! I promise when I’m not longer a broke uni student I will become a member!
Well, Indy fought in WW1 and got the spear of destiny in 1944, not taking part in the army but as an adventurer. I guess this wasn't his only real war encounter in some battles. I know this is not the question here because this is a game but yes, Indy did survive his encounters in WW2
Top notch video I love the banter you three provide too absolutely cracking stuff I love the narrative play too soo much fun to watch absolutely gripping!
This reminds me of a comment Tom and Ben made on Warhammer Wednesdays about making your own whacky objective markers (maybe that's even the exact one Ben talked about!) because it then means you're not playing the Nazis, most indefensible and evil people in history. Instead, you're playing "Ze Nazis! Der cartoon villains from ze Indiana Jones movies!"
I love here instead of being great battles like your previous bolt action matches this was a glorified ww2 action movie with zombies, car chases and fistfights
20:30 After an epic car chase indiana jones stands injured next to the german officer and his men, just as it seems Indiana has run out of luck the british arive just in the nick of time with the germans beng pushed back to the arc under a hail of gunfire. German Solider: "mien komendant, ze arc is for ze führer, you can't open it" German Officer: "vis ze power of life and death i will be führer of ze entire world" Indiana jones yelling: "dont look at the arc" as all hell starts to break loose on the battlefield
actually technically BEN, the 25 pounder is a multipurpose field gun AND howitzer because a howitzer is not a specific gun you get as the first search result on Google but rather a classification of gun that most artillery pieces are nowadays. And definitely in the use as an artillery piece for indirect fire as opposed to direct fire it would be a howitzer. And at the very least it could be used as a howitzer. Ben tried to be technical and correct. He forfeited the right to be annoyed at corrections!
Aerospace Engineer here...yes and no. If the prop miraculously was still balanced then technically yes the plane could fly but be severely underpowered. If the vibrations from an unbalanced prop doesn't shatter the engine or airframe then technically yes. But in the broad sense, no, you should not attempt to fly a plane with a busted prop LoL.

Pyrion's extremely polite and accommodating British artillery officers are the real MVPs.
Funnier compiled with his god-tier dice rolls in the first few turns.
Pyrion's calm British soldier accent made me crack up 'Look at that chap, he's screaming and holding his face...shall we have a cup of tea'
Honestly pretty accurate too.
The homebrew rules were awesome, would love to see more custom thematic scenarios too. Really nice seeing Games Night become a thing again
I thought the Dad's Army one was amazing, but this went even further. Terrific execution from all involved, right from the concept to the edit.
This was incredible. The scenario fitted the films perfectly, it was beautifully balanced. I don't know how you manage it but these are amazing!
I'm definitely not biased as an Indiana Jones Mega fan either...
The little smoke and fire effects are amazing, I'm sure they're a headache to create, but they add so much to the visuals. Keep up the good work!
Well akchually Ben, * pushes glasses* the 25pdr was a howitzer
So in an effort to be right you are wrong

With a prop blade missing, it'd be an unbalanced centrifuge and it'd rattle itself to pieces. Lewis coulda told you that, surely!
