FIXING the black screen of death on the PS4 can be easy. Launch your PS4 into safe mode. Than go down to change resolution and go to automatic. This should help fix your PS4 black screen. If not, do a hard reset of everything by unplugging your devices, waiting 60 seconds and plugging everything back in. ...

When I press the PS4 Power button to hear the 2 beeps, after the second beep I didn't see any safe mode. My screen was still Black. I need help please.

Once it’s it safe mode it isn’t allowing me to use my controller once it’s connect with the usb cable to the PS.. it shows the orange glow to indicate it’s charging but won’t allow me to turn it on to use it, tried it with two controllers to be safe still nothing.. any advice?

Once I hold the power button and launch to safe mode, it says connect Dualshock for literally a split second than goes black again. I tried unplugging everything as well and still no bueno. No idea what the issue is, but I assume the HDMI port needs to be replaced.

For the people who are having this issue, I also had it,i couldn't even see the safe mode screen, but i read somewhere that if your hdcp(in system settings) is active,it might not recognize the device which is not compatible with the hdcp standart. I went out, plugged it to a different Monitor then deactivated the hdcp and woosh, it worked in my tv at home. That might be the issue

Just Past weekend My PS4 was losing H DMI connection in the middle of my gameplay So I restarted it in safe mode and it came back on but it keeps on doing it. What do you think the problem is? Do you think it's the ports or something on the computer board itself
What if it just glitches, and goes off mid game? Just blips off for 10 or so seconds, while it's finding the signal. No Audio, no video, at first I thought it was a power issue, but everything came back on, same spot in the game. I thought it was a TV/Cord issue. Swapped all of those out. It even does it when I'm using my VR. Any thoughts?

I have a new console and I this error after 30 mins of play. I changed the resolution and everything seems fine. Should I still be concerned? Will this happen again? I noticed it happened after stopped playing Dirt 4 on PS now. I noticed a border all around the screen while playing dirt online. Could that be the issue?

@@noahschelde3065 just had my hdmi port replaced. Tested in shop all fine. At home.on main 4k TV no joy. No safe mode just stuck on no signal. Tried new hdmi and no luck either. Tried bedroom TV. All the same. No joy. Back to repair shop and guess what. It works there!?!?! I'm stumped!

I done the whole power thing heard the second beep and still no picture on my tv. I've tried several tvs and several different HDMI cords as well still nothing. The ps4 will still take disc in and everything but no sound or picture

How do you “accidentally” change it without touching the settings once?
Sometimes for a black out the PS4 get back to Automatic setting had happened a few times
Tried it safe mode won’t display and I’ve checked the hdmi pins they all look good so is there anything else I can try?🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Update: thought it may be caused by the hard drive so I remove the hard drive put in the old hard drive and it started working again so it maybe a hard drive problem🤦🏻♂️
I got a old PS4 that came out in 2013 the fat one and I tried connecting to my new 4K tv and it says no signal but if I plug in my laptop or anything else it works when I launch it into safe mode I can see safe mode but when it restarts it just says no signal again what should I do

We have a problem connecting the PS4 to my son't Dell all in one computer monitor. I tried the HDMI cord from the PS4 to the computer and it showed that the HDMI was not plugged in. So, I bought a HDMI to VGA cord and tried that-nothing. Now when we plug the HDMI cord into the PS4 with the VGA part attached to the computer the monitor goes black, and sometimes goes off and on. I have watched videos, searched on Google, and I don't know what else to do.

If your screen still says "no signal" after you have hold down the power botton for the 7 seconds, try to unplug your HDMI-stick from your tv, and then unplug your tv, plug the tv in again and then the HDMI-stick. That should get your signal back.
This just happened to me and I fixed it like this:
1: unplug PlayStation from the power plug.
2: unplug HDMI from your tv and move to another port.
3: plug all back in and press and hold on button for 7 seconds.
4: change resolution and let it restart.
5: back to normal

@@slackn Yes, I was using vga monitor and I wanted to connect it to the ps4, that was impossible ofc. I bought an adapter with vga input and hdmi output that i plugged in ps4 using vga cable. Then i have seen that my adapter has a micro usb port on it and i just plugged a normal phone charger in adapter. My ps4 is now working perfectly

Thank you soooo much!!!!! I just bought a PS4 and I could not get it to work on my hdmi monitor. I saw it working at the guys house who I bought it from. I thought I had been scammed for 120$$. Thankfully I googled first to troubleshoot and found your video. I remember having to do something similar on my ps3 to get it out of hdmi mode and into the rca cable mode. I tried that but I wasn’t holding power button long enough to restart in safe mode. Been 3 years since my nephew broke my PS4 and finally just got new one. I know ps5 is out, however I’d rather spend my loot on new Roland V Drums than drop a grand on PS5 with no games

TrapKillingGod sometimes it’s not the hdmi port of u got it replaced still no signal even tho u have. A white light it means you got the “white line of death “ so that means it’s 99% that your ps4 mother board has a problem cuz when I face that it’s eaither ur hdmi port broken or ur mother board

My PS4 boots up etc but it's a solid grey screen even in safe mode. I've changed TV and HDMI etc etc and tried using the method you showed navigating safe mode but it's not working. I've had the HDMI replaced.
I’m using a VGA Female to HDMI Male adapter and it just comes up with “input not supported” tried changing resolution, disabling HDCP etc and still the input is not supported, any ideas?

Simply unplug all the chords and wait a few min before plugging it back in.

@@stewiekillz nope hdmi cables arent the issue either. Its definitely a software issue with PS4s that has been going on for years and apparently there is still no fix. People just keep repeating the useless steps from this video, stubbornly ignoring the fact that its not working.
