    FUN FACT: The watch with specifications that are most similar to the Tissot Seastar 2000 Professional is the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M. Of course, it's more than six times the price. Every dive watch that is out-specced by the OPO600 is also out-specced by the TSS2000. That includes the Longines HydroConquest, Longines Legend Diver, TAG Heuer Aquaracer, Oris Aquis, Breitling Superocean, Rolex Submariner Date and Omega Seamaster 300M (all of which cost significantly more). This makes it easily the best value luxury dive watch ever made.

      You seem to know more about watchs than me which watch would you choose between these two the Tissot seastar 2000 or the Seiko SPB217?

    • @AvroBellow
      @AvroBellow 2 года назад +35

      @@isaacalzate8262 Oh absolutely I would choose the TS2000! The Seastar 2000 is a tank compared to the Seiko SPB217 and costs less too! The Seiko SPB217 is only rated to 100m while the TS2000 is rated to six times that depth. The TS2000 is also an ISO-certified dive watch with a helium escape valve and an 80-hour power reserve. I honestly don't know how Tissot did it for the price (what with them being Swiss and all) but they did. I also put my money where my mouth is. My TS2000 (reference T120.607.11.041.01) is on my left wrist as I'm typing this. I did choose the Seastar 2000 Professional and I couldn't be happier with it. Specs like a Planet Ocean with a price that's below the HydroConquest. You can't go wrong.

      @@mr.stinker9335 That's the exact one that I have, the good ol' deep blue! You're going to absolutely love it, I promise. You'll be looking at it and wondering how you got a helium escape valve and 600m of water resistance for less than.. well... in Canada, the Planet Ocean is $8,800 and I paid $1,100 for my TS2000. Literally 1/8th the price! You just can't go wrong, especially since they're both Swatch brands with impeccable quality and finishing.

    Today cyber Monday 2022, I walked into my local high end jewelry store who is a AD for Rolex, Tudor Tissot, and Hamilton among a few others to buy my first Rolex. The Submariner I tried on is basically unobtainable, I instead walked out with a Tissot Seastar 2000 at retail to get on the waiting list for Rolex and got to know my AD salesman who has all my info now. I could not be more happier with this beautiful Seastar that has 10 hours more power reserve than a Rolex Submariner and also goes twice the depth. I just absolutely love this Tissot and how it looks on my wrist and if I never get a call for a submariner, Oh well. I just may start a Tissot collection.

    This watch is stunning in direct sunlight. The colors and gradients just come alive. Then, just as amazing, at 330am the lume makes the watch fully visible. I wear this to bed every night. Without my glasses on and it being under the covers it glows just right...very easy to read. That's how lume should be tested. In the dark (in bed or 1000m down in the sea), pupils fully dilated and then looking at the watch. This lume takes ambient light very well. So glad I went for it as my first mechanical.

    Great video Teddy! You're right about the size of the watch. I think that's going to be the only thing that may limit some people of getting it. It might be "love it or hate it" thing. Nevertheless, the package offered by Tissot is impressive, especially for this price. It's amazing that Tissot were able to put together 600 WR and exhibition caseback. No need of the He escape valve of course but that's OK. IMHO, the only thing Tissot could do better is the clasp but we should not be too picky when we talk about $1025 watch, which characteristics surpass some well-known brands. Again, great video!

    Truly beautiful watch, I couldn’t help but to purchase one. Of course being a value shopper I went with pre owned. A few scratches in exchange for a 41% discount off of retail made my day, possibly my year. Reading that it out specs a Rolex Submariner, added very much to that value shopping experience. I spend an overabundance of time gazing at the dial if anything. After a lifetime of listening to a quartz watch tick away while falling asleep I’d say it’s near silent sweep is the best quality of all. It’s also a perfect fit on my wrist, almost a custom feel where it comes to rest.

    I got this watch delivered today - Tissot have done an absolutely superb job with this watch, incredible quality for the price. Its nice to lay it next to the Oris Calibre 400 and compare (which it was aimed at I reckon), of which it shares similarities - but the size difference is most apparent. I have no doubt I'll love the Seastar 2000 as much as I love my Calibre 400 Oris. Top marks to Tissot for a job well done!

      Hey man, saw this comment and wanted to ask you, how do you like this watch 5 months later? I was actually really considering the caliber 400, but then saw this. Really like the look, saw one in person, but couldn't really get a feel for how it wears since it was on the full length bracelet. The seastar 1000 is sized similar to my tag f1 which I love the size of, so how huge is the 2000 compared to the aquis?

    • @bobpage6597
      @bobpage6597 2 года назад +3

      @@jamesrubio9816 Well, when you lay them next to each other the Seastar 2000 is noticeably larger, but not in a bad way. It is also quite a bit more weighty than the Calibre 400 - a bit like having a tank on your wrist aha but that's fine given its a 'serious' dive watch. 5 months on I am perfectly happy with it. I was wearing it through the week at work just this past week - so its still all good :)

    10:53 Same could be said about really small watches under 40mm for people with larger wrists.

  • @pedrothevenard
    @pedrothevenard 3 года назад +5

    46mm is awesome for my 8 inch wrist, 16mm thick is usually a bit much, but I'll hold my judgements until I can try it, the only way to actually know if it's too thick is seeing it live.

    I am a diver, and I have owned my Tissot Seastar 2000 for about a year. Mine has the blue-green face. I recently did a saturation dive with it. I really like this watch, my only complaint is that the date window is quite small. I am looking for a cyclops to install over the date window to see if I can make the date more visible. Otherwise, it is an outstanding watch.

    I just purchased this watch yesterday in Teal and it's friggin beautiful. It big but it's well balanced and doesn't look overly chunky.

    I tried on one of the chrono Seastars and whats funny is that while these watches are seemingly sized for large wrists I could barely get the unclasped band over my hand and there was no way I could clasp it. I would need to add 3-4 links for sure.

    Got mine yesterday in the Teal blue colour in Canada as well. There is a certain mystery or intrigue with that colour IMHO and looks more like the sea. Gorgeous watch, a little too big for my wrist but will rock it regardless. Beautiful watch and great value as many have mentioned.

    Teddy I am thinking about these ones because they are flashy but not cheap looking. What others would you recommend? Not looking for classic boring look, something like this sport and expensive looking. Was thinking this or Rado Captain Cook, Seiko Astron... Please give me some other options to compare under 3000. Thanks.

    Seastar utilized the C07.111 with the plastic escapement.
    The pallet fork and balancing wheel are made of plastic, thus there are two fewer jewels.
    Uncertain of how long it will endure and how difficult it will be for the watchmaker to service.
