Got my blue sun burst tissot seastar 1000 quartz! It came with a rubber watch band but bought an 'aftermarket' mesh band from Amazon and looks pretty well like a stock tissot mesh band. I'm happy! Gorgeous watch :)

Thanks Jeff. Great job and very fair review. I agree the bezel action could be better as well as the lume. I do really like the date wheel, which matches the dial, which many watches miss that mark. It looks great on your wrist. I learned some things about my watch today. 😎 So cool. I like my Teastar...😉😆

With the mesh band this Tissot watch is only 148 grams. That makes it way more comfortable for anyone who has a small wrist. You can also get this watch with a heavier bracelet. The bracelet feels cheap compared to what you would find on similarly priced Seiko Prospex models. I'd much prefer this Milanese strap. I saw Bloomingdales has this same exact Tissot Seastar watch currently marked down to $450. At that price I would certainly buy this watch.

That mesh bracelet is high quality. The should have made this on a dive clasp and not cheap out with the flip lock mechanism

Good review. totally agree with all your cons... I have a seastar, 3 years old, and a tissot that is more the 22 years old. the older one has much better lume, build quality and line up of date and indices. tissot is a great watch, but lost the edge a little..

Good review bru! Im going to order this tomorrow! I am really bumbed about the bezel not staying in place and the movement of the bezel should be really rigid as this screams quality. but im still going ahead with the purchase. I think I will love the watch but be irritated slightly know the quality is not 1000 percent. Thanks

For total perfection you'll need to be paying a lot more. BUT this is an outstanding watch for the price. Great bang for the buck. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Would be better if they put at least powermatic version 611 or 811. This has 111 which has plastic escapement. For some its not an issue bo in my case its a deal breaker. I dont get why Tissot puts this cheapest powermatic movement in so many of their watches… its a shame because this dial is absolutely stunning.
After some heavy research I decided to go with Steinhart Double-Green Premium. Much better watch in general.

Orient is the better bang for the buck but the Tissot is the better watch.

Isn’t the bezel one of the things that a company like Tissot should get right?

How do you set Tissot power 80?

Pull the crown out to it's first position (after unscrewing it) to set the date. Don't set the date with the hour hand between 10 and 2. Then pull to the second position to adjust the time. Remember to screw the crown down firmly.

this is the powermatic...if you're asking is if worth it then that's a personal decision. I love the Powermatic 80 and think it's a fine movement. Quartz will always be less expensive and more accurate.

I gave up on Tissot recently. I think their watch quality and design has been in decline for at least a decade. I feel Hamilton makes far superior watches.

Very overpriced. The plastic in the movement as well as it's low beat rate and the fact it can't be serviced outside of Tisot. It looks cheap too. There are far better quality products available
