This is the only video comparing the 40 and 36 side by side at the moment. Great video and keep them coming. I do have a question though. You thought the 36 was feminine on your 6.5 inch wrist? I thought it looked right at home.
I almost always find watches with 18mm lugs to look feminine on my wrist. It’s just a personal preference. On top of that this is a dive watch so the dial is noticeably smaller than my other 36mm field or dress watches.
Every quartz Tissot I've seen or owned misses the markers. My Citizen, Seiko, Casio, and Tag Heuer watches are all spot on. For a Swiss watch to be missing them is unacceptable when a $50 Casio Duro hits them spot on.
Whilst I doubt anyone would take a Tissot on a dive, they missed the mark by not putting a luminous pip on the insert. I'd say the price is fair if you really had to have it, and I'm sure they go for less on the gray market. But a consumer can get a better watch from micro brands and the far east.
The 40mm dial looks way bigger due to the small indices and the TISSOT text being too far north. The 36mm dial looks better. The 40mm bezel looks small but that may be because the dial throws the look off. Honestly, I know it's trying to be different than a submariner homage, but the bezel design is a copy, they may have well just put the date window at 3 o'clock and proportioned the text and indices better. I really wanted to like the 40mm, but I just can't. The 36mm looks good but it's too small for my wrist and would be a woman's watch by today's standards. No lume pip on the bezel and no lumed marker below the date window, plus the lume performance on Tissot is terrible. I also don't like how the bezel looks dark at certain angles. They should have used engraved ceramic. For the price I think it misses on too many points regardless if it's "Swiss Made". I expected more from Tissot.
With those tiny, thin hands, no one is going to use either of these for actual diving, so the bezel action is pretty irrelevant. In fact the whole bezel is unnecessary. Very pretty sports/dress watches though.
To preface, like anything, this is subjective: That said, to me, the Tissot Seastar has to be one of the least compelling divers in existence. It irks me when people prop it up due to it being a Tissot and Swiss. It's a crutch.
@@noah-j00 For a smaller diver, I can only recommend the Seiko SKX013, SNE Solar Divers or the Alba AEFD530. AE might have some options such as Escapement Time 39mm Quartz diver. At 36mm I can only think of this Seastar and Glycine Combat 36mm and the new 36.5mm Citizen Promaster. Does it have to be a dive watch for you?

저도 6.5인치 팔목인데 36mm 보유 중입니다. 40mm는 다이얼 비율이 못생겼습니다.😂
I would have loved this in 38mm, I bought the 36mm and it's a good fit for my wrist but I think the 38mm would have been the sweet spot
There aren’t many 36mm watch options out there unfortunately so I’m always happy to see a 36mm watch.
There is a Certina ds action diver in 38mm that looks better than this.
The 36 is a nice size for under a sleeve. The indices are also spaced out well on the 36. I own one myself as there are few options in this size.
40mm is genuinely a good size for a dive watch. 36mm is more suitable for the feminine. Both models are superb in design from Tissot as usual. 🎉
40mm is small. Annd its quartz on top of it.
Solid endlinks for me are a must have. And not only didthey make it solid but also with quick reliese solid endlinks.
Tissot seastar is the Casio Duro of Swiss dive watches.
36 mm look better to me then the 40 mm in my opinion good review
300M WR but no lumed pip? Not a dive watch
No lume, no divers....
I wear the 36mm and I have a 8 inch wrist and it's awesome!...I have the 40mm as well but don't like it... it's out of proportion
Looks like the second hand is not aligning with the minute markers... Whats the use of a swiss movement then?

Worse still, a swiss quartz movement? That's an oxymoron
Would you pair the 40 with a blue leather strap??? because I dont like the metal strap..
36 mm is way to go. 40 looked gigantic.
The indices being pushed out to the edge of the dial makes it look even bigger!
I got the 36mm had it for 15 minutes took it back into shop and paid the little extra for the 40mm. 36mm too little for a male

The Chinese watch brands are truly impressive when you compare them to entry level Swiss watches!
Hi how has the accuracy been? I bought mine 2 weeks ago and it's 4 secs fast
I ended up selling both watches so cannot confirm. Your results are well within Tissot’s published tolerance of -0.5 to +0.7 per day.
@realestwatchreviews thanks for the reply. Where did you find the accuracy rating?
@realestwatchreviews never mind, found it in the user manual. Thanks for the info.
@@alias110 no problem!
What's materials in bezel ? Ceramic or sapphire or ???
I don’t see it listed on Tissot website but I believe sapphire. It’s not ceramic.
@@realestwatchreviews sapphire - 90%, x, y, z - 10%
cristal mineral

Considering the MRP, there are better options.. but if one can get it for 300-350 dollars, I think worth it
40mm looked better on wrist

Very pretty sports/dress watches though.
I would agree. It’s a desk diver at best.
could you talk a little louder?
😂
Terrible and crunchy bezel action .. yikes
Yea, terrible bezel action!
I think its pretty Nice. And I own 12 watches in the 1k range.. @@realestwatchreviews
So much of air noise yuck

I have never been a fan of it either. The 40mm release was the first time I felt compelled to give it a chance…
any alternative then? was looking for a dive watch with 36mm size (or lug to lug under 43mm) around USD400. there is almost nothing other than Seastar
