      dont think most thinks Tissot as an Entry Level.... rather Mid Tier, within the Swatch Group they are not seen as Highend, they have others for that such as Omega and Rado. though I would agree that they have great design and improved. but lets not forget Tissot has and still has a big issue with their T-Touch models and are not watches meant to last a lifetime (cuz they cant)

      To be fair, Tissot doesn’t actually make watches. They outsource dials, movements, and cases and assemble them, in a “too far away” location.
      I’ve been a fan of Tissot, but this video just illustrates how far some Swiss brands have fallen. They have a “lottery” to see which model from their archive they’ll endeavor to reissue. There’s no refinery of the Valjoux movement, just placing a dial and case on it.
      Rolex too has been resting on their laurels, but they are their own laurels. Rolex has made small but definite refinements over the last 30 years that go mostly unnoticed in their iconic/old model designs. Only someone who owns a 19xx model will appreciate the refinements in the 20xx version of that watch.

Plus Tissot, Longines where the best watches back in the XIX century not Rolex or Richard Mill that’s plastic toys for snobs pay million dollars for a horrible watch 🤑 pure Marketing! On the other side you have a company showing up “almost everything “ go and try that at Rolex? Do they make their Subs in Switzerland? 😆 they need more room because of the lack of stock asked Swatch Group to rent some space 😆 all the 20/15 thousand Subs would value € 2500 those were the prices in the 80’s for a Sub without discount!

      These are high end watches. It upsets those who paid hopelessly too much for their watches. That PRS in blue, PRX etc is every bit as good as some other popular brands at more than twice the price.

    Tissot nailed it with all of these new models! What a trip this must’ve been! My collecting has progressed to where I am more comfortable now investing in what the industry would call “luxury” class eg Tudor, Breitling, etc even though you could consider any watch over $200 bucks luxury. But I’ve never owned a Tissot and always wanted to. I currently have an Oris and Alpina in this pre luxury mid-range. With this new PRX series I think I found the perfect piece to complement that category of my collection. Great video.

      I think Tissot is one of the best and nicest looking watches which also offers the best value, no other Swiss brand can top Tissot in terms of value and price, Alpina is like 3x the price of most Tissot and I find it looks so ugly, Hamilton are also about 2x the price of a similar Tissot and also usually uglier.

    Awesome video on the Tissot facility and operation. Tissot does make excellent watches in the space and price range they occupy.
    I had picked up a rose-gold LeLocle chronometer way back in February of 2013. It was running at +3.5 s/d (actual recorded over a number of days on wrist) when new, and it is recently running dead-on at 0 s/d (again recorded over a number of days on wrist). I have nothing but praise for this Company. As an aside, Hamilton is another company that I favor and have respect for.

      @@AV84USA I didn't ask you what SHINOLA was, terrible name btw. I was making a comment about the weight and value history and reputation of a brand has. It is a value that a sapphire crystal, random ETA movement and generic design like shinola has - will never obtain unless it somehow becomes relevant for decades to come.

    • @AV84USA
      @AV84USA 2 года назад

      @@mad0uche Tissot is relegating itself to “microbrand” history when they slap a stock Valjoux movement into an outsourced case and press in the crystal. SHINOLA adds more refinement to their boxed ETA movements, ESPECIALLY with a display back. Tissot Digging up old designs to replicate only serve to remind people that they are no longer that company, although they have had a very rocky past as far as quality goes (my first Tissot was $50 at Kmart in the 90’s)
      SHINOLA is absolutely irrelevant as a watch brand, and yet it’s still out finishing Tissot, which is unfortunate.

    Just because Tissot is affordable to middle income people like me, doesn't make them less prestige? look at their history? Because of them millions could afford to wear a Swiss watch. Looking at their craftsmanship is no different from those folks at Rolex? Many brands in my opinion are just inflated.
