Like it or not, even though Tissot is known for the starting entry into Swiss made watches, they really listen to the fans and customers. Mad respect to Tissot❤️ Much love to Teddy for taking us on this journey🙏
I really love Tissot. An excellent quality, great design, tradition, and heritage. You probably won't get the better watches in this price category, cheap, reliable, beautiful, and classy.
@@henkdeklapsteen6787Same. I bought a used Tissot Le Locle for $300 a decade ago and it is the piece that got me into watches. I have “nicer” pieces now, but still wear the Tissot as much as any of them. We’ve traveled all over and that was the watch I was wearing when my daughter was born. I’ve spent more on servicing it than I paid for the watch, but I’ll continue to do so because I love it and it’s a damn fine watch.
Tissot is doing lots of rights with the PRX family. Respecting its own heritage, adopting sizes that everyone can wear (people should stop complaining about a 37mm case, because 2mm won't kill), maintaing highly versatile specifications and aesthetics and expanding into a wide range of colours. Others brands should definitely follow. The automatic 35mm is a great addition.
Kudos to teddy for interviewing Tissot CEO Sylvain Dolla in person! Sylvain has genuine respect and admiration for Teddy, and it is an honor for a CEO to launch his new products on teddy's channel first! I bought the PRX 80 powermatic and absolutely love it. In case Sylvain reads the comments, the only minor feature I would like to see Tissot add is an adjustable bracelet when my wrist swells in the summer.
Teddy has got to be one of the most positive forces in the watch world today. A true gift. And you can just tell that everyone around him knows it. Bravo.
Great video Teddy.. But almost 2.5 months late this time. This guy at the channel named "The Watch Loupe" had leaked and reviewed it on YT months ago.. It's weird that it took that much time to be officially announced by Tissot... (And yes.. I know that guy well 😄)
About dang time we got the PRX in the 35mm. The 40mm version always seemed too large proportionally but this is just perfect. And excellent timing too, as the trend now is a downsizing of watches back to the midsize 36-39mm range. The Sideral isn't for me, but I appreciate that they stay true to its roots, and doing it in a carbon fiber case is genuine too. Just as fibreglass was a space-age material of its time, so is carbon fibre in today's era.
I believe the 35mm powermatic is great however the bracelet is slightly too small. A 37-38mm powermatic would allow for the bracelet to still have the impact it has on the 40mm.
Tissot is quickly becoming one of my favorite watch brands. I love the PRX and really appreciate the company’s customer focus. Congratulations on the 35mm PRX, I am sure people will love it.
I wish Tissot and the whole swatch group would find another naming of tge Powermatic 80, as it's not a single movement model ratger a movement family. There were a lot of critics on the Powermatic of the PRX which is the C07.111 and its some plastic parts. So people blame now every Powermatic. But the C07.611 is totally fine, used in higher tiers. But it is also named Powermatic 80. That's confusing for many.
I partially agree with this, although I’d prefer a higher beat movement such as the previous 2824-2 which also came with different specifications but still all referred to as 2824-2 movements.
omg i have been waiting for the mother of pearl white! I have decided to get a Tissot PRX and a Christopher Ward Twelve. But I intend to get the Grey CW Twelve, but there's no white color dial for the Tissot PRX and now they have it! i am definitely getting it!
That's fantastic! I already have the 40mm but it's just a little big on my wrist. Will have to try the 35mm. Swatch Group should acquire Eterna, it's only befitting when they already own ETA. Eterna would be nicely placed among Certina and Mido.
Seeing a fraction of all the test was amazing, you always hear “they’re tested in multiple positions” but never get to see what actually goes on in this tests. Thank you Teddy for always producing great content going above and beyond to bring us this type of videos! Awesome!
Cheap automatic movements is what could restore popularity of dress watches. Right now, it is just so difficult to get mechanic dress watches, almost impossible for women. There is no excuse. Just do it ETA.
All those stringent tests and quality controls and some people still question Tissot. This company deserves a lot more credit than it gets. I had a Tissot many years ago. Wore it everyday, did a lot of rough work here and there, sports, swam with it, bumped it more times than I could remember and the thing worked perfectly for many years after I got it. Got the bracelet polished and gifted it to someone, and they still have it today and it works. About two decades after I got it.
I love how fun those Sideral S looks! Will definitely be checking them out at the store soon. But above all, I must say I love how humble and passionate Tissot's CEO is. Very down to earth and amicable. It's good to see these type of people behind products you love. Great vid. Thanks!
If it took the powermatic for a person to realize how great tissot was then I feel bad for them. I get the genta look is super in style these days, but the le locle, gentleman, seastar and classic have had my attention for a long time. I love tissot and just bought my brother a le locle in stainless with a white dial. He loves it so much and I'm proud to give him something to last a long time
The PRX should have come with that old Tissot logo, the same that is now being released on the Sideral. Would fit the 70s look much much better and it would remove the ugly 1853 text. BUT that's obviously just nitpicking, there are no perfect watches and there are always things we would like to be different. The PRX is an incredible good watch as it is. I own one and absolutely love it.
The Swiss still making the most well balanced watches! At all price points ❤ The Japanese are masters in metals and electronics... ❤ see the GM B5000... BEST OF 2 WORLDS! ❤
Yo Teddy tell the guy to drop a fluted bezel version (they have it for the two tone) for the stainless steel version, i feel like they'll defs do it eventually but i neeeeeeed that
Please make more, reasonably priced silicone straps Tissot - the PRX looks amazing with that - quick release would be amazing as you totally change the watch like that.
As someone with a larger wrist, I don’t need a 35mm but I love tissot for listening and following through with the request of so many that want a 35mm bravo 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I have had several Tissot watches over the years and eventually got tired on them. It was also expensive to fix any problems with their automatic movements. I would rather get a Hamilton watch. They are at similar price points to the Tissot brand and make better watches.
Great news! I hope you will add a new size in the middle. I used to own the 40mm on my 18.25 cm wrist and it wears too large so I sold it. I tried the 35mm many times and it is really too small. The PRX is incredible and I truly would love to add one in my collection again at 37/38mm!
So... Composite on watches has been existing for quite a in fact, date mech on japanese watches and also used on Omega 1xxx movements, lemania 5100s which some wheel and bridges and 1861's chronograph wheel brake, valjoux 7750s hour counter brake too, and also Tissot Idea2001. I think "the controversial" usage of composite element in the escapement pretty much even now in Tissot watches was also due to their research on that Idea2001 watch too, which have less friction during the runs of it, and it's also part of their heritage too, though Swatch also used the Tissot tech in the watch they produce. And it seem at some points there's just a stigma about any formulation of "plastic product" as cheap, while the process that produce that escapement is actually quite a technical achievement in and of itself. And also I haven't seen yet C01/C07 composite escapement melted by far inside a movement due to impact which happens during the locking phase of the escapement. There's nothing I could say about this as it's still a pretty new like from 2008. Though, from what I see from the Tissot Idea 2001, the escapement was "self lubricating" too, and due to less friction I guess there is less heat that was being generated by the impact of the working escapement, though there is the wear and tear factor that could happens with this escapement, I might have to mention too that the normal steel grinding against ruby for quite a long time could also produce the wear and tear of the ruby itself starting with scratches then the steel and the ruby was eating themselves out, just like sapphire crystal of a watch that has been worn for quite a bit without care, it could led to scratches too. Conclusion, material wise, it'll just behave like the usual escapement, have to be maintained too, though I might add it should be handled carefully as you don't want to deform the escapement at all, which would mess with the geometry it was produced as accurately as possible, causing bad performance if used.
First, terrific video. Second, I have no interest in the 35mm PRX, because my 40mm PRX is simply perfect IMO. To me the PRX is the most versatile, yet elegant, auto for ~$600. And it like few other watches (for me anyway) crosses over just far enough to bump one of my dress watches off my wrist occasionally when I wear a suit and tie. Tissot has become one of my favorite brands over time as I like others, either have real or self imposed limits on the amount we'll pay for a watch.
Teddy, your channel is the best by far. I really enjoy these interviews and tours of the watch companies showing what goes on behind the scene of watch making!
Just bought a Tissot PRX 35mm Powermatic 80 with green dial. My first mechanical watch since the Bulova automatic my mother gave me in my adolescence over 50 years ago and long since gone. Great finding Teddy's video on the PRX 35mm and learning more about Tissot !
They finally nailed the date window on the PRX. It’s properly aligned with the rest of the indices whereas on the other models it was way off center. GS are masters of getting this design feature right.
The reason it is off centre on the larger sizes is because of the movement. The movement size is standard across the range, it never changes, so neither does the date wheel position internally. This means on larger watches it appears closer to the centre when looking at the dial, whilst it is further out towards the indices on smaller watches. By making the case smaller Tissot have put the date wheel in the correct place, they haven't engineered the movement too accomplish this as GS do. The Powermatic 80 is based on an ETA 2824, all companies utilising this movement have the same issue. Check out the excellent date position on the Hamilton Khaki Field Watch 38mm vs the poor placement on the 40mm with the printed "15" second indicator pushed horribly inwards!
The date window alligment is even horrible with the Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm and 42mm. Any Powermatic movement which is used in different case size have the issue.
@@calmck2 Can't you just utilize a larger date wheel on larger models that would subsequently cause the date window to fall in line with the other indices? I'd be surprised if the manufacturer had to re-engineer the entire movement to accomplish this. This is evidenced by the many micro brands that use off the shelf movements and have perfectly aligned date windows. I think it's more so that Tissot is pumping out so many watches, and this is such a small detail to most, that they don't think it's worth the additional effort to properly align the date window. For those with OCD like myself, once you notice this design feature there's no unseeing it.
Love Tissot, my first mechanical watch is the gentleman bought back in 2020, it's still my everyday go-to watch, aside from the slightly faster time keeping, it's a robust, well made watch that withstood the punishment from on site jobs. The 35 mm is definitely a hit, can't wait to get one!
Thanks Teddy that was a great way to spend 21 minutes. I like both of the Tissot releases presented, and a fascinating insight into the test laboratory. I wonder if the add in other real life factors to the test like dirt and sand when testing things like the clasp opening and closing. Hallelujah the 35mm PRX auto!!, looking forward to seeing them in the retail stores.
This is what I like about Teddy. He goes straight to the horses mouth, so to speak, instead of rehashing news blogs. That's top tier. Excellent work, Mr. Baldassarre, safe travels. 🤙
Well, good to hear they listen to the people !!! Maybe my view that they should have ditched the date function for the 35mm Powermatic might one day get picked up. That would make it a PERFECT watch IMO 🤗
I Just Hope that they will eventually Release a Version of the prx with a Higher end movement which can be Regulated and which doesnt have the plastic escapement. They already have a movement and the watch so its Not to unlikely that they will Put Out a Premium Version especially since a Lot of people have been disussing the movement and Tissot hast been listening to their customers really well lately
You're a real company man teddy. Too afraid to state negative opinions on anything that's not clear cut incase you lose opportunities like this. You seem like a nice person but for genuine watch opinions and content you simply state the obvious and the facts.
Hallo Teddy, I love tissot. The two Tone Lady watch is really beautiful, and those summer fun watches ,can't wait for them to come out. Also it was so special to see all those test being done by eta. Serious watch making. Thank you and as always love from Switzerland 🇨🇭 P.S.are you also doing some sightseeing, it is a beautiful country😊

I wonder if the add in other real life factors to the test like dirt and sand when testing things like the clasp opening and closing. Hallelujah the 35mm PRX auto!!, looking forward to seeing them in the retail stores.
OH WOW!!! THE FACE IS BLUE NOW!?!!??!?!
I want a full Rose gold PRX Please!!!
OKAY this is a game changer just TODAY I resided myself to a treat 35mm quarts but this is what I NEEDED
great video 😊 thank you Teddy for revealing the secrets of testing process. now I'm thinking about prx all the time.... simply must have it
The PRX quartz dials are way nicer, they need to work on the auto dials
This is what I like about Teddy. He goes straight to the horses mouth, so to speak, instead of rehashing news blogs. That's top tier. Excellent work, Mr. Baldassarre, safe travels. 🤙
Great, 35mm Powermatic PRX! Now onto the next thing to shout: when are the extra straps coming for the 35mm?
Tissot is such a great watch manufacturer that produces fantastic watches for the masses.
Fantastic news, been waiting a long time for this, can’t wait to get one, haven’t decided colour yet !! happy days 😊😊😊😊🇬🇧👍🏻
So happy to see you there at Tissot home, very good job Teddy! Next step to PRX, the 37mm version?
Well, good to hear they listen to the people !!! Maybe my view that they should have ditched the date function for the 35mm Powermatic might one day get picked up. That would make it a PERFECT watch IMO 🤗
FUCK waited aooooooo long
I wonder will they make a smaller version of the Gentleman? I think it would be great in a 36.
Finally 😔
This is fascinating. I didn't know ETA was so involved in testing straps. I wonder how involved they are in actual strap production?
I’m only a newbie into watches this year, but the most exciting brand for me is TISSOT. Picked up my first Swiss, mechanical in the form of the PRX powermatic 80, what a watch for the price.
