Another month, another PRX. This time, the new, wee guy, the 35mm. I have been waiting patiently for stock to arrive as I had pre-ordered this one with Vincent. After the initial shock, I am enjoying the smaller watch's more elegant proportions, and that wrist roll is even better thna the 40. Which one will be the keeper? Ask Tina! Cheers, Jody
The 35mm version manages something a lot of watch designs forget about these days, that they can be masculine AND elegant at the same time. Elegance in this industry seems to be something that is falling by the wayside, and it's good to see a watch that shows us it can still be done!
Yes! You can wear the 35 with a sportcoat or a polo and look classy.
The Citizen watches available in the USA (as opposed to Japan) are mostly ugly. Seiko isn’t much better.
Well, if everyone "screams", can you do much except for screaming to be heard? Feels like everything is going this way, big logos and extreme colors. I appreciate elegant watches too, but they soon might be history :/ Just look at G-shocks and all the watches that celebrities own.

I love the 35mm! Waiting to see if they release an auto version…but what I really would love is a manual version, keep it thin!

Tissot are releasing a blingy gold bezel version with diamonds towards the end of this year. 2023 will see the remaining dial colours on their way to an A.D. near you. Check out Teddy Baldessare's most recent video where he visits the head office of Tissot and speaks with the CEO about some of their soon to be released offerings.
I´d love to get a 35 mm Automatic with the Tiffany Blue dial. I guess I have to wait and hope they will release it

38mm would probably have been the crowd pleaser. I tried the 40mm and it was just a fraction large for me. The Sarb033 has always been perfect at 38mm.
No I think 35mm was the correct decision, don’t forget that the lug to lug measurement here is actually larger than the spec sheet lists due to the integrated bracelet
I’m the proud owner of both the SARB033 and Tissot PRX 35mm. I honestly enjoy them both. They’re sort very different watches and wear differently so I’m ok with the size differences between the two.

In high school, I had a Swatch Albatros GX700. I recently bought a new old stock replacement for nostalgia's sake. The 34mm case felt SO SMALL at first! I struggled to remind myself it didn't feel unusually small back in 1988. Once it's on for a few hours, it feels fine, and it's opened me up to smaller watches. VERY tempted by this 35mm PRX; I think I'd buy it before the 40.

I bought the 35mm with green dial just on a month ago Jody. Stunning watch & like yourself I have plenty of smaller (30+mm) sized watches & this just sits right on my 17.5cm wrist. 👍🏻
These are great watches from Tissot, I have the 40mm blue dial with quartz. My collection has a mix of sizes and movement type but quartzis great for pick up and go.

I got the gold tone 35mm and it’s the perfect size for my wrist, along with a rad, ostentatious, retro vibe that I can’t get enough of 😁

The 40 was a bit too big for my smaller wrist. Something about the way the case kind of extends beyond the lug to lug because of the integrated bracelet design, I’d guess. Felt like a dinner plate on the wrist for me.
The 35 is perfection.

Yes, I’m waiting to get that as well. My wrist size is 16cm and I reckon the 35 will look similar to what the 40 looks on Jody’s wrist, which is on the sportier side of the spectrum that I prefer

Normally I would go for a 40 over 35 every time......except this one! The 40 wears HUGE so the 35 it is!

Just bought an Alpha 36mm explorer and loving it!Also have a 7 in wrist and have some vintage dress watches at 33-34 mm,have also a Seiko Arnie and two Panerais at 47mm.It's a matter of personal taste.Always enjoy your videos

Jody, I have the same size wrist but for me it is the 40mm all day, every day. It wears beautifully flat and wraps the wrist perfectly.

I purchased both the 35 and 40mm (in green) and the 40 was a bit clumsy on my 175mm wrist so I returned it.
Happy after a month with the retro-vibing quartz 35mm and love the way it tucks under my cuff. No interest in the automatic.
37.5mm with a waffle dial would be tempting though and I wouldnt mind slightly fatter indices.
This helps me out so much!!! I have a 7.5 inch wrist but like smaller watches. Was debating between the 2 but knowing that the 35 wont even fit my wrist makes the decision even easier 😅. Thank you!!!!!
Fab review, Jody. I have smallish wrists, so the 40 was always going to be touch-and-go. Yesterday I visited my local jeweller and tried both the 40 and 35 on. The clear winner was the emerald green 35mm. Stunning wee watch, but I will need to wait for a few more $$$ to find their way into my 'special' fund. The dial is a little smaller than I would like, but overall the 35 wears larger due to the integrated bracelet. For you the choice is not so clear cut, good luck deciding (my money's on the 35!)

I'd understand if you played catch and released with both. I feel the integrated design needs the dial to not dominate too much or as much of the space on the wrist as we're used too with say our divers etc. The 35 is a fraction on the small side but I can see how the sub 6.5in wrist club are making it work well. Bring on the 37.5mm!
My vintage Hamilton Field watch is about the size of a Quarter .25 cent piece. I love it . Lots of vintage watches are small they fit nice under shirt cuff are are often gold.
I have the 35mm with the green dial. I absolutely love it. I had the 40mm and just found it touch to big. It fits a dream and I feel it wears a little bigger than 35mm 😊
@@bambambaby5289 Hi I find it adapts to the light really well. In the sunshine it isn’t to bright. I would certainly try and get to see one in the flesh and you will understand what it mean 😊
I was set in the gold but that silver combo is stunning.
I think 34mm, 38mm and 40 for the Chrono would have been perfect. The forty has lug to lug of 51mm which is pretty big for an average wrist. I own the 40 with a 6.8 in wrist and its a bit big

I already have the larger PRX automatic blue dial and have no issues on my 7" spindle. I do however like the idea of a smaller 36 being a tad more discreet and of course lighter. I have a couple of 36mm watches so this downscale (or original scale if you look to the original release) is one that I'll take a look at and yes it'll probably be the quartz version. I still want to try the chrono 42mm when I have the time. I guess I just love this style of watch.

Just not my wheelhouse, in any dimension. I used to have a thing for the Oris Aquis, but the integrated put me right off over time. I'm glad it makes others happy, though!
This is a really good review and comparison. Both the 40 and 35 looks great on wrist.
Keep in mind that we have been getting accustomed to wear bigger watches for many years now.
Watches were smaller back in the days, and in my opinion the 35mm is of correct size.
Deffo buying the green 40 auto, but I already have a vintage Lorus thats almost identical to the 35ml Tissot right down to the hands and indicies. As a seven inch wrist 35 does wear small on me, I put up with vintage being small but I prefer the 40 for sure.
Just ordered my gold prx 35mm, Amazon had one for $285! 😜 Be here Sunday!
I have a very small wrist and I just bought the 40mm in green dial, doesn't really look so big on my wrist I think it depends on your style :) I am loving the watch every minute
I prefer the compact dimension of the 35mm. I’m a sucker for 35-37mm watches, and this one is really tempting!
I've seen the 35 mm version at my AD recently and I think I prefer it vs the 40 mm. Anyway in the next future the PRX will join my collection, even though I still have to decide the color. But it will be a quartz in 35 mm. Very nice watch.
The Emerald green is amazing if you haven't seen it up close.

Great video, as per usual Jody! Personally, i think the 40mm suits you better. Also, might I suggest doing more of these size comparison vids? For example, with the Cartier Santos Models - Medium vs Large vs ADLC (the ADLC is the same size as the large, but because it's dark, it wears significantly smaller). Thanks!!

I think these quartz model make a great his/hers set. Very few watches anymore have a mens/womens in the some color scheme and design. I may just do this for my wife and I to celebrate our first child due this fall!
I bought the 35 mm version with green dial just about a week ago and I'm so happy with it. I have a 6,5 inch wrist and it fits me great, the 40 mm was a bit too much for me. I really love to wear it loose, it's very light, comfortable and balanced on the wrist. I'm so happy Tissot went with this small size true to the original. At the begining, I thought that it might be too small, but it really isn't. Yeah, a 37 for would be ideal for many as well, but I'm happy with the 35, more than I expected. And it made me think - smaller watches with integrated bracelet are a pretty rare thing, there might be a nice niche gap in the market for some microbrands. A slim, hand-wound integrated style watch with interesting dial and about 36mm diameter... I'd take it ;-)

40mm is more suitable for my wrist but I'm sure many will look good with the 35mm version. I had the Quartz PRX, it drove my OCD to unacceptable levels as the seconds hand hit 2 markers out of 12. Very shoddy quality control from Tissot. Couldn't wait to get rid of it, happy I sold it for just about $10 less than I paid.

Thanks Jody! I made my mind. I'll get this one. I got the 40mm auto and it was just too bulky for me also i have my doubts about the reliability of the powermatic 80. I still like the waffle dial better tho.

Always loved these. Sounds a bit like Goldilocks, a 38 would have been just right (like the Seiko 5). Ps tried on the 40mm but wasn't happy with the fit on 6.5/"

Agree 38mm would be perfect. I also have a 6.5" flat wrist and went with the 40mm.
The 35 looks a lot better on your wrist, Jody, which is essentially the same size as mine. We are not dockworkers, which comes with other drawbacks … but not when it involves elegant watches. And regarding quartz, it doesn’t bother me at all. This watch hearkens back to the Lord Quartz and Silver Wave from Seiko’s back catalog. (Okay the King Quartz too, but I don’t have one of those … yet.) Nice video.
Feel like it’s one of those where the 40 is a bit big and the 35 is a bit small. Damn those millimetres! 😅

THANK YOU for doing this comparison --I was wondering when someone would! Now, I am torn between the two sizes and agree that somewhere around 38mm would be the Goldilocks (perfect) size.
Excellent review Jody. I have passed by the 40mm several times in the jeweler's case but never tried it on. Don't know why I havent as it is an intriguing piece but there's something that just doesn't connect with me. Haven't seen the 35mm in person yet but curious to get a first hand look at it.
I like the quartz movement but with the dial face pattern of the Automatic. I called it the belgian waffle pattern.
A quartz chronograph would be fantastic!

I personally think the 35mm looks a bit small on your wrist, but that doesn't mean you can't wear and enjoy it, obviously. Although the 40mm wears perfectly fine on my 18.4cm wrist, I can very much understand why some would want something smaller. a 37.5 or 38 would be great, but I would not hold my breath waiting for one. That 42mm chrono may be borderline even on my wrist, but I will have to see if I can find one in person to try on.
Would be the 35mm for me looks fantastic, once you wear a smaller watch it’s hard to go back. The size difference reminds me of when looking at the 36mm black bay and the dealer came in with the 41mm and it looked like a dinner plate
I don't need another watch, but the 35mm is such a cool watch. I am waiting to see if an auto makes it's way but that is such a nice watch.

As someone who wears a 34mm Air King I am all about the 35mm. Dying for a green dial one.
I thought out of the gate I would strongly prefer the 35mm, but it looks jarringly small on your wrist in the video. Based on your comparison, I'm favoring the 40mm at this point, although I'd love a slightly smaller 38 or 37.5mm too.

I think the smaller watch looked better in his shots. The 40 covers the entire top of his wrist but the 35 is a hair small. I'd rather have a smaller retro styled watch than a large one - it's more retro. My 40mm PRX fits my 7.25 inch wrist but only just. If my wrist were to shrink anymore I would downsize to the 35.
I've only owned one cereal bowl watch and it went in the trash yesterday. If this is a "ladies"size I guess it's for those with hairy arms and dress hiking boots. Having several antique and vintage pocket /wrist watches,all small,I'm happy with 35mm. My grandmother's watch was a mechanical about 15mm.
I have a 6.75 inch wrist, and the 35mm fits fantastic. I went for the pale blue dial.
I agree, that it does look small to begin with, my other watches are around the 39-40 mm range, but as Jody said, after a few days wear to acclimatise you begin to appreciate it more.

I am waiting for a powermatic without the waffle dial, there is no accounting for taste.

35 mm is very clean looking. And the 40mm seems slightly too large in comparison. The 35mm fit does remind me of the Casio A159 which I own and love. Clean and elegant are perfect words.

I’ll have to give the 35 a try since I love wearing my 34mm Rolex Date; the 40mm lost me as I don’t see a reason I’d ever wear it over my Direnzo DRZ04. Great review as always Jody!
Laziness has crept in, manufacturers building bigger watches without giving you anything more. I am wearing an Accurist about 70years old, 34mm with a dial about 31mm and 8mm thick including domed acrylic (hand wind).
I noticed... that the second hand (on both) was in perfect registration to the markers - not way off in the middle. That says a lot about QC, to me.

I just have one question for you.
I've been having my eye on the prx for a long time, awaiting the 35mm version die to my small wrist size.
After having some Nice mid-tear microbrands, I was looking forward to getting a genuine Swiss made, macro brand in the collection.
Thé thing is, i'm a sucker for the smooth sweep of automatics, certainly inowing that it's a lottery to get a quartz version that hits the markers (can't cope 😅)
So... My question is... How does the automatic San Martin version compare in terms of Quality to the prx? Automatic version, samen design language at thé same pricepoint.
San Martin has come so far in terms of finish and overall Quality so the summer sale has really got me in doubt.

I am holding off for a 35mm auto. Hopefully with a textured dial. There is an open spot in the box for one.
Jody, by my eyes from this video, the 40 mm definitely looks better on your wrist. But you are the one that needs to wear it obviously! BTW, I just purchased the 40 mm Powermatic in the new Green color dial and love it ( I have a 7 1/4 inch wrist).

i just picked up a Rolex OP41 in Silver and i spent countless hours contemplating PO36 vs OP41 for my 7inch wrist. I went with 41 which is really only 39 and it's fine but could have just as easily got away with the OP36. The way I look at it, the 41 is a dressy sport watch.. the 36 is a sporty dress watch. No right or wrong for a mid sized wrist. The same for these PRX in my opinion.
Great video the 35mm is a game changer for many. However I am saving my money by for the chronograph, it’s a big boy at 42mm but That panda dial though 😍😍😍😍

I never considered a 35mm watch but this changed my opinion. This PRX wears well at 35mm.
Keep both in the collection. You and Mrs. JOMW could wear them out together and be wristies.

Hey Jody! Great vid, and gotta love the prx! I had one question. Would you consider reviewing the tissot luxury powermatic 80 (anthracit - 300 on jomashop)? I believe it could be a great automatic for around the same price as the quartz prx!

I have a Seiko SQ100 Quartz vintage 1980s, at 35mm which the PRX mimics, which I think is a much better watch. The 100 refers to the water resistance.
