- Visible tattoos on your face, hands, and neck are becoming more and more mainstream. While it may seem like a good idea in the moment, I know some people personally that wish they would have waited until they had a more stable career before making the commitment.
In this video, we talk about somethings you should know about getting a "Job Stopper" tattoo. I don't think it's a bad idea (all the time), I just think that you should put a lot of thought into it before hand. It is definitely not something to rush into in the moment.

I got a few face tattoos and I work at a warehouse. Formerly in body art industry but I'll get to it again soon.
Hope you plan on staying in the warehouse for a really long time
😂.... im a blue collar guy.... 41.... port engineer, railroad industry, logistics etc are the areas.
My tattooes are your basic forearms, bicep and legs. Ive got this 22 yo co worker.... no formal education. Recieved on the job training etc.
He's been with the company about 2yrs and we're in southern California which overall is a bit more progressive about tattoes.
This guy had a few little tats here and there but he goes and gets the entire front of his neck blasted 😅.
Like dude..... he doesn't know what direction life will take him. People get fired, resigned, and he's sub contracted for 3yrs.
So, its a possibility he may or may not be around next contract
I do stick and poke tattoos. (i do them in a sanitary and safe way and have been tattooing for 8 years now). my best friend in the world, who I did my first tattoo on, gave her first tattoo and who I’ve done dozens of tattoos on, recently asked me to tattoo her neck. This girl is gorgeous, like seriously, her career is quite dependent on her looks. Her arms and hands are fully decorated with tattoos. But idk I just feel really weird about putting a tattoo right in the middle of her throat area. She doesn’t have any tattoos on her abdomen or above her shoulders and she wants this one right in the middle of her throat, super conspicuous. When she brought it up to me, I was hesitant anyways and told her no, but her boyfriend of almost a decade was looking at me over her shoulder with this look like “please don’t do it”. She kept asking me and actually got mad that I didn’t want to do it- I told her idk I feel like that’s a really visible place and also a part of your body that ages more quickly than others etc and she was mad talking about “it’s my body and I should be able to do what I want to it!” Which is absolutely true, I love her and don’t care what she looks like or chooses to do to herself as long as she’s healthy, but I told her I also have a right to not do that, I don’t want the responsibility on my conscience if she grows to regret it eventually. She could go to any other artist. She asked me again today and I can tell she’s really up in arms and defensive about it- it’s like she wants to get this tattoo even more now just to prove a point because her boyfriend and best friend don’t necessarily think it’s a good idea. I can feel that she’s gonna get mad at me over it when I see her in person next. I don’t want her to feel offended, and to be fair, she’s been talking about this tattoo for over a month now so I think she’s made her mind up on it, I just don’t want her to get it solely to prove a point. And I’m still torn on whether I should just give in and do it for her, if she’s gonna get it done regardless of who does it.
That's a job stopper mustache. :^)
I want my knuckle tattoos fixed but it is almost like I don’t have enough ink on my arms that a studio will book me in. I have not had much trouble with getting work from the tattoo but it would be nice to have it look clean
That’s weird that someone won’t tattoo you
I love my tattoos but im only 18 and the only reason i regret them is because of the job part of it, will i get them lasered even if it was offered and free? Thats a hard one because my tattoos are a part of me they tell a story from drug use/abuse to depression to satanism.
Many employers will fail interviewees with visible tattoos but won't give that as a reason. So if you have visible tattoos and have dipped an interview for reasons that don't appear to make sense then you'll know what the real reason is.
👍
I got one visible neck tattoo and it made it super difficult to get a job
Aw man, sorry to hear that.
What area/country?
What is it of? Use make up to cover while at work
Lol I got my hands done already. Going for the throat next. I do already have a whole ass arm full of ink. After my throat, gonna do the side of my neck. Do my entire left arm. Then prolly go for the face idk. I hate any job that still look’s down on these tatts. Thank god I’m a creative… people that won’t hire somebody based on ink make me puke…
I feel ya. I joined the military when I was young so I still have rules to follow.
Stay jobless then my friend 👌🏻
@@roriarguez136 I have a job. Stay ignorant though I guess.
@@Signedbydeath I mean it’s not only me saying this but ok 🤣👌🏻
@@roriarguez136 even if you’re not the only one saying this, tattoos and piercings don’t affect someone’s work ethic. That’s such a baby boomer mindset…..
Can’t tell if that’s a tattoo needle buzzing in the background or just the audio is fucked 😂
Lol yeah, just bad audio on a few of these older videos of mine.
I don’t like to judge but I’ll never get tattoos on my neck and hands definitely not the face. This is why I only have tattoos I can cover and people ask me what’s the point of getting tattoos if no one can see them I just tell them I have my reasons. The only area I’m think about getting tatted is my arm cause thats one area where most job companies don’t care about as long as it isn’t offensive.
My first was a hand tattoo, if a job doesn't like it on to the next. If I want a tattoo I'm getting it.
Stay jobless 🤣👌🏻
@roriarguez136 working full time salary as a manager actually, but okay. Lol
@@CoreofGreymane hope you never get laid off or fired
@@CoreofGreymaneright on man, most jobs actually don’t care about tattoos. We’ve hired so many people with tattoos and they’re very respectful, hard working, honest and nice to be around. Don’t let others put you down because you have tattoos. They can get fucked 🤟🏻
@CoreofGreymane you sir, have the right attitude.
macam mana nak buat?
Do what?
hands arent really job stoppers tbh . ive got my hands done and ive had no trouble securing work in office environments
They definitely are. I’m not trying to say that if you get a “job stopper” tattoo that you absolutely won’t get a job. Times are changing and it’s definitely starting to get easier to get jobs with tattoos.
Generally, most tattoos that can’t be easily covered up would be considered “job stoppers.” I’m glad you didn’t have any trouble but I know a lot of people that do have trouble.
@@randomherotattoowhat constitutes a job stopper tattoo at this point is starting to change. Law enforcement and the military have already started relaxing those requirements on hands at least. The fact that their is a critical nationwide teaching shortage specially in urban areas means those standards have relaxed as well
Yes they are, We are told not to hire people who have hand tattoos. They might not tell you but they tell everyone who does the hiring, In fact if you get something afterwards you will slowly get pushed out of a job. Good luck
@@roriarguez136 im very curious to were you work cuz hand tattoos haven't really been job stoppers in many years I've never ran into a issue and i work in banking were you have to be around clients daily neck and face on the other hand is a completely different ball game
Will most jobs actually tell you they won’t hire you because of them? No.
@ZachKateAda why do you suppose that is?
If tattoo artists give someone a job stripper tattoo that hasn’t had pre-existing work, that’s unethical
Umm excuse me, we're talking about job stoppers, not strippers :^)
Bahahahaha
I don’t know why some people want to ruin their skin!
It looks really bad when people sees you have a tattoo! It’s very unprofessional and easy to find by enemies!
