They’re too lazy to get a job! They all want to be famous! Those are just some of the generalisations when it comes to the work ethic of today’s youth. But that couldn’t be any different for 21-year-old Joe Parsons who contacted us here at This Morning after being repeatedly turned down for jobs, claiming it's because of his tattoos. Rebecca Jane, who runs a private investigation company, says she wouldn’t hire anyone with a visible tattoo. Can Joe convince her that appearance should have nothing to do with a person’s capability to do a job?

I hate people who have neck tattoos but not the entire body
neck face and hands are the LAST places to get tattoos
That tattoo was such a bad decision and maybe an indicator that he is prone to bad decisions.
Not much self awareness
Well why would you get a tattoo like that ...
His answer. Huh????????????????? It looks cool dog.....
I mean he could learn to be a mechanic and work in a car shop. I’ve seen lots of mechanics with many visible tattoos. However it’s not reasonable to get all these visible tattoos to show your “uniqueness” then complain that average businesses doesn’t think you fit their brand image or that society sees you as different. You are different, isn’t that why you got the tattoos? You can’t expect the rest of humanity to conform to your individual aesthetic.
However in modern society there are a lot of alternative or open spaces, he could work at a tattoo or piercing parlor, Hot Topic etc. Or take up a trade where looks aren’t as prevalent.
Uh........??? I've Seen Replies From Tattoo Shop Owners On Another Video Like This & A Lot Of Them Wouldn't Hire Him
Any Face Or Hand Tattoos Like Disturbing Ones
Would Not Get You Hired
Especially Neck Tattoos Like This Guy Has.
Imagine getting your first or second tattoo right on the neck in all of the colors
Here’s an idea wear a turtleneck to the job interview and then get hired and then show up without the turtleneck and if they fired you instant millionaire 😂😂😂😂
Why would you wanna get your only tattoo on your neck and that huge? Lmao
True! I love tattoos and got several! That being said I thought I was ballsy getting my forearms tatted! 😂
Neck tattoos are really cool but there’s limitations, especially career wise if you get them.
Tattoos aren’t doing the job or have knowledge for anything. It doesn’t make you a bad person and someone who can’t perform a task! Like WTH give me a break. It’s All only due to Control like you’re in prison.
@@sexygabby30just depends on the corporation and their company culture .. find a liberal company that has an inclusive culture
People want to think they're interesting and will do anything to seem interesting
I like Bill Maher's reaction to someone who said that they got a neck tattoo to show they were making a statement. And I believe Bill Maher replied yes the statement is that you are unemployable.
Fresh in for 2023. I dont think tattoos and peoples perceptions of them are the problem in this example. Presentation is fundamental! In all respects.
Exactly. Overly tattooed people were born weird to begin with and their tattoos just made it worse. They act differently, the thought of being victims of something is always going to be with them.
@@juanbaclavab I am heavily tattooed, I have a respectable career, I definitely can't align myself with the idea of being a victim because of them.
@@juanbaclavabnot sure what that means .. people get tattoos because they like them. It comes from mental trauma or issues, not denying that , however it’s just an expression and a coping mechanism that manifested into art. People cope many ways , some use violence and drugs . Some like tattoos . So unless you have “crip killah “ tattooed on your face I don’t see why it matters what someones skin looks like .. If someone’s going to discriminate against you because of how you look who’s to say they won’t discriminate against you for being a darker skin color ?
Protesters ,tattoos and piercings go hand in hand and that’s why they’re unemployable.
I have 3 quarter sleeve/chest piece that I had for about twenty years now. However, my job has no clue I even have all this ink because I can hide it. The reality is that u can get discriminated for looks, height, gender, nationality, tattoos etc but Employers will make up lies & bs to legally not hire u. In a competitive world, Tattoos can give Employers the wrong first impression and at the end of the day you'll just be a financially broke person with a cool tattoo.
Or be broke and not even have a nice tattoo.
So you are saying you were dumb enough to get a huge tatto but not dumb enough to let people see it
@sheet-son Right , but I am also a 6 figure earner with tattoos and you're obviously not
We've had a right good day Jim, we've had a right good day, you know
You've got your bendy bullies
Try wearing a turtleneck to the interview genius
😂😂😂
Nobody Falls For That Trick Anymore
An employer should have the right to choose potential employees based partly on appearance. After all, they may represent the company. Maybe he should become a tattoo artist.😊
So if someone has a scar can say no?
@@ThomasSawyers There's a TINY little difference between a scar and a tattoo. You need someone to explain that?
@@tired7140 right, and there's zero difference between discrimination, you need someone to explain that to you sweetheart?
He might not have the talent or skill to do it, not everyone can become a tattoo artist and make a living off it.
I don’t even understand him…lol.
Tattoos that cannot be hidden, especially up around the neck or face, are a huge red flag that you make bad decisions. And he says that he would do it again, so that would be a very accurate assessment in his case.
That tattoo is absolutely hideous
I Think Employers Will Only Hire You Depending On What Kind Of Tattoo You Have
Learn lessons . You cannot force other people to LOVE your choices .
The only advice that i can give him, use a good make up if you go for the interview, or wear scarf at work, if you get a job ( you can enjoy your tattooe in your days off in your private life)
It's called a narcissist.
I work in university and I’m covered, jobs nowadays don’t care
You could use heavy makeup like actors who have tattoos have to do for certain roles. If you haven't already got a tattoo, think long and hard before you get one. You should just get a temporary one that washes off unless you are really sure you want one.
I wouldn't hire him too!
Wouldn't hire him 'either' not too.
@@Smedley1947thank grammar police
For you my young man cover them up with make up, no problem don’t let the world stop u for living youre life
The tattoo artist shouldn't have a job because of it!
He's got a job it's called tattooin omfg
@@Chris-fd6lc I meant as a tattoo artist, of course.
More On !!!!
I don't want to pre judge.. I saw the video to the end.
But.
He sounds as thick as two short planks......
I've worked in call centres for 5+ years. Working around all sorts of people. So clearly, tattoos don't affect performance. BUT... Let's be real. Even the most Yakuza-ry of the Yakuza never let you see their tattoos... Just.. Keep them for your personal life.
He needs to move to Portland Oregon.
MC DONALDS WILL HIRE YA
No they won't.. I tried... they told they weren't McLovin it.. 😪
Who’s here @2024 when tattoos on neck hands and face are more acceptable 😊
I think tattoos are great! tells me instantly who not to hire
Right like passing up the best person to work for ya! The conditioning is wild!!!! How ones minds get molded. Now this in 2023
Lol in your fantasy world where you don't earn minimum?
good thing you flip burgers at mcdonalds and aren't in any authority to hire lol
😂😂😂 I love that comment
Is he working now?
Pillock
there are lots of people who have jobs with tattoo. maybe the problem is him not the tattoo
Nice lad, id hire him on the spot.
Wear a silk scarf on the job interview, cover up. 😊
If you wear a scarf to a job interview, good luck getting hired😂😂😂😂😂
what would you hire him for? he's really dim-witted. he chose to do something to his appearance that he knew -- or certainly should have known -- would significantly limit his future job prospects. he resisted his grandfather who advised him this would affect his employability.
People are allowed to "discriminate" against people for the choices they make as to how they present themselves to others.
I don’t know why some people want to ruin their skin!
It looks really bad when people sees you have a tattoo! It’s very unprofessional and easy to find by enemies!
I think something like your kid’s names on your chest or maybe a small rist or ankle tattoo works in most jobs it if your trying for an office job you should have no visible tattoos that can’t be covered by a shirt sleeve shirt and jeans
Hmm just a question , would it be illegal to not hire a black person in predominantly white country as a private investigator because they stand out ?
Thats nature though. Tattoo is just drawing on something that wasn't intended to be there.
I got a face tattoo and it is imposible
Like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like.
If he cant get a job due to the tattoos then come on national tv saying this...
I bet I can help him get a job
I’ll be needing
1.) Mattifying skin primer (can be drugstore quality)
2.) A full coverage cream concealer pallet. Must have lavender, green, and a very deep peach or medium orange
3.) Three high end concealer brushes and one of any price point that’s the thinnest one we can find
4.) Beauty blender or just as good knock off
5.) Full or Higher Medium coverage concealer fluid (swipe on variety) in a color about half a shade lighter than his skin tone.
6.)EXTRA THICC fullest coverage cream (tube or stick) concealer from a brand like MUFE, KVD, MAC, Covermark, Dermablend or similar quality that matches his skin tone perfectly
7.) Buildable coverage waterproof fluid foundation
8.) Pressed powder that matches his skin tone or is just barely darker
9.) Department store Translucent powder or sheer coverage powder
10.) High quality powder brush
11.) Makeup setting spray
12. Shirts without collars or are made of satin
If all else fails he can grow a very long beard like a Vikinger
Why did you write so much? Its discrimination, imagine you weren't getting jobs because you were chubby and then the response was "well heres a diet plan and workout routine, and wear something smexy"
@@ThomasSawyersI would be thankful someone cares enough to tell me
@@Randze also I guarantee you a scrub
@@ThomasSawyers ?
East enders?
It's the same as being born black.
The best advice I can give him is to become self employed.
People know when they get neck and face tattoos that it will pigeon-hole them into a very specific niche in society and will affect their employability. This guy Joe Parsons is not very bright if any of that comes as a surprise to him. A face tattoo correlates highly -- not 100%, but highly -- with mental illness, rash decision making, need to attract attention by any means necessary. none of these is viewed positively by employers. basically you can get a job at a comic book shop, or a used record shop, stuff like that.
he said you would be able to sue someone for not hiring you because they have a tattoo? i dont think so. whether and wear your wear a tattoo -- and what the tatoo represents -- are all legitimate indicators of your personality: conscientiousness, decision-making skills, social abilities etc.
In other news: Water is wet.
he really looks like a freak show. sorry. he might be a nice young man, but his tattoo puts a barrier up between him and other people and he will suffer because of it.
