      I use Behringer pedals because I'm paralyzed and I can't hit the normal 10mm on/off switch on most pedals with my foot. It's also hard to smash them with my hand.
      The Behringer pedals have that wide on/off switch over the battery compartment. It's so much easier for me to hit than other pedals with the conventional switch. I don't think they would handle being stomped on or pounded with my fist. They go on and off with just a light tap.
      They are not too bad. I can't hear it. Just make sure you have a fully charged battery or are hooked up to an external power supply. And... I use an affordable Joyo cordless guitar system from my guitar to the first pedal in the chain. A cable from the last pedal into the amp. I am constantly getting cables wrapped around my wheels. Wireless helps very much.

      About the tuning, the guitar he plays is absolutely not one of his guitar, and if you go to the last part of the video, the boys are apologizing for giving him a bad tuned guitar, and he tunes in.
      Good musicians are not into putting shame on the others, but giving them advices.
      Hate is not the way to share and learn, and you wouldn’t be a good musician with it.

    i like using compressors as an effect
    if you have a lot of compression, there's this really satisfying thing the notes do when you have the amp set super clean and i love it. it sounds even better when the amp has a little bit of meat to it, whether it's from a boost, or boosting the amp with the output of the comp, or turning up your amp

    Dear Mr Scott,
    This is an excellent show format, I f'in love when you do these types of videos. Best guitar channel on RUclips by a long shot.
    Not to be a sycophant but these videos have been so helpful for me to learn and realize how much I didn't really know about pedals. Between these blind comparisons and the one about behringer and caline, tc electronics, joyo and similar I've been able to acquire very good sounding pedals for very low investments. It's not that I wouldn't just buy your pedals because even for $100 to $250 they are excellent quality and totally worth it. But, I'm unable to invest that much because I'm permanently disabled and on a fixed income. But, because of your honesty and decency I've been able to acquire excellent substitute clones that I would have never been able to know what to get and how to make them work together so well without years of trial and error and wasted money. It's truly been a great help to someone who is disadvantaged and unable to acquire your excellent products. The bonsai pedal may be the single greatest pedal idea ever and ends any gear debates about which tubescreamer circuit to buy.
    What you guys do I greatly appreciate, thank you.

    As far as compression goes, I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not I need mine on my board. I’ve been an always on compressor guy with every comp I’ve ever owned. I currently use the Walrus Deep 6. This is pretty much the only conclusion I’ve been able to reach: When it’s on, I don’t necessarily hear the difference. But when it’s off, I definitely do. So I keep it on my board and never turn it off. That being said, if you have a compressor, do what you want with it. Keep it always on, turn it off if you want. If you don’t have one and don’t want one, don’t worry about it I guess? 🤷🏼‍♂️

    I have 2 UV300's. The first I modded straight away to have a slow rate option on a DPDT switch. It worked great about a year then just stopped one day when I went to play it. It took forever to figure out what was wrong but it turned out to be an IC failure I tracked down with an oscilloscope. Rather than try to replace an SMD 14 pin ic without a rework station I just bought another new uv300 and modded it as well right away(and salvaged the old uv300 for its SMD components for other mods, repairs and builds). That was a year ago and it's still working fine. I build guitars, pedals and amps and do lots of mods to all three. I plan on rehousing the UV300 into a new enclosure with chassis mounted jacks and a couple other mods when I'm finished with all the other projects I want to do first. So as far as the differences between the vb2 and uv300 schematics there are more than youd think. Off the top of my head I remember the feedback loops have larger filter caps (47pf rather than 33pf) but that's MOSTLY inaudible filtering (but in something like the morning glory such small feedback loop cap differences are certainly audible). Also the main difference is the BBD chips are reissues made by cool audio I believe in the behringer and an actual MN3102 and MN3007 in the Boss VB2. I dont remember if the pinouts are the same or not or whether the specs are all that different with the reissued cool audio chips but they are great chips that many companies are using these days and are perfect equivalents to use in DIY projects. There is also the fact that the Boss uses ic's in 8 pin format while the behringer uses 14 pin format ic's but that is absolutely of no consequence since the specs should be that same minus the pinout. And lastly (and keep in mind this is all off the top of my head) the bias and clock trim pots are much lower values in the behringer which seems to make them easier to dial in but I'd prefer the stock values so the bias and the clock trimmer can be dialed in more precisely. Like for example the clock trimmer on the behringer is so much smaller resistance wise I couldnt even intentionally introduce clock noise lol. The diy vb2 clone kits say to set the bias and clock trimmers by ear but I'd much prefer to do it the way they did at boss with an oscilloscope (specifically with the click but also with the bias trimmer). I'll have to look at the UV300 again and see if anything else was changed around the bias/clock networks to allow for lower value trimmers. Whenever I get around to rehousing the UV300 it might be fun to modify it back to stock vb2 values. Most of the changes likely just came down to what was more cheaply available to keep price low when building them in large batches. But for a single pedal the cost difference between vb2 components and UV300 substitutes is likely less than 50 cents for most of the changed components (minus the BB chips of course). Anyways if anyone reads this and can expand or clarify any of the stuff I mentioned please do! Not many people are skilled enough to understand these more complex pedals especially since they are way less common so any new information is greatly appreciated.

    • @JulianA-tr6pt
      @JulianA-tr6pt Год назад +1

      Might not be of any value, but I rehoused a Behringer chorus for somebody years ago and remember unbalanced the flip-flop switching with a larger value capacitor (.1uf I think) to have the pedal turn on every time when power was applied. Then it was wired to a 3pdt as usual. There's probably other ways to bypass the original bypass switching but I went that route, being less experienced and not wanting to experiment.

      @@leliobarandiaran5891 His ear not being his strongest weapon doesn't mean that his playing or his music is bad.
      There are guitarists that don't know how to string up their own guitars and could play circles around most players who can. They're different skill sets and they don't always overlap or impact each other.
      The riffs that end up sticking with people are usually pretty easy to play. That's just strong songwriting propping up a simple riff to be something more because of the context it creates and the riff needed didn't need to be complicated.
