    Hi Glyn, Thank you for the cutout tips, I finished compositing our pet dog into a model of the famous James Bond gyrocopter, Little Nell, that I photographed onto a blue screen. I have NOT been happy with the cutout of our little dogs' fur!
    Having just watched the cut-out tips I'm now going back to redo with a greater understanding and different brushes.
    Thanks again,
    David Wilson

  • @roamingrodgers
    @roamingrodgers 10 лет назад

    Great video (again) Glyn. When you have an image of frizzy hair where the hair is brown and you have a similar background how does topaz remask cope?

    • @glyndewis
      @glyndewis  10 лет назад +1

      It has it's limitations and in those situations you just have to do what all the fashion retouch houses do and that's paint in hair mate

  • @tyleryoung5040
    @tyleryoung5040 9 лет назад +5

    For making the zebra look like its in the grass, you could have just as easily used the same brush you did for the mouse hair and just brush out the bottom of its hooves. Then you could move the zebra anywhere in the image and it look like it belongs. Same result as yours. just one less layer.

    • @glyndewis
      @glyndewis  9 лет назад +3

      Tyler Young I got the result I wanted though right? More than one way to do thing...no right or wrong way so long as the result is achieved.

    • @tyleryoung5040
      @tyleryoung5040 9 лет назад

      +Glyn Dewis I get ya, but if you wanted to move the zebra to a different part, you'd have to make another grass layer. It's easier, quicker, and more efficient to just brush it out with the layer mask.

    • @glyndewis
      @glyndewis  9 лет назад +3

      Tyler Young Yeah I get you but I'm just showing one way to do it...not the only way and I do it different in other tutorials. ok?

    • @tyleryoung5040
      @tyleryoung5040 9 лет назад +1

      Glyn Dewis there's about 18.6 different ways to do everything in Photoshop. I've been working in photoshop for about 10 years now, just thought I'd add my 2 cents. You can check out what I do at tylercreatesworlds.deviantart.com/ if you're interested.

    For the zebra, would it be any faster or more accurate just to use the magic wand tool on the background and select inverse?

    • @HTGGeorge
      @HTGGeorge 8 лет назад

      +TotalRandomCrap You are right. Clicking in the white and using the magic wand set to contiguous with a low setting would allow you to easily select the white background, then just invert the selection. I tend to do this one trick a lot as it is often faster. You can always modify the selection or layer mask next if needed.

    Excellent - here's the weird thing though, my version of PS CC doesn't have the 'grass' brush. Reset and searched the brushes folder - nothing, nada, zilch. Not a big deal but would be good to know where it/they have gone :-)

    • @glyndewis
      @glyndewis  10 лет назад

      ***** Give the preset manager a look (if you haven't already) and see if 112 is listed). Any probs let me know and I'll send it over as it's a default.

    • @RetinaDesign
      @RetinaDesign 10 лет назад

      Glyn Dewis Whoa - now that is freaky (possible bug). Not showing in the brushes panel, despite reset. Went to preset manager as per your suggestion, which to be honest I hadn't thought of. And there's the cheeky little fella in all his glory. So, reset brushes from with the manager just to be sure. Return to brushes panel - and lo the blind can see. What's all that about then!
      Anyway - problem solved thanks (kind of) to your holiness :-) Cheers.

    No. 2
    U can't do this without creating new layer with grass? U can't use this brush on zebra mask to hide hooves in the grass?
