      Brilliant, Glyn! This is super useful. I wanted to add a little tip, if I may: sometimes when I have a good mask but only one little spot that is haloed, you can easily push in the mask with the smudge tool.
      Glyn, I love all of the stuff you and Dave have done together. To me, it is your signature artwork - my favorite of all you do. Whimsical as it is, it is truly fine art.

    Another nondestructive way I use is to Select the Mask. Then Menu-Filter/ Other/ Minimum 1px.
    Then use the Mask Properties Panel to Feather the edge to blend the edges into new backgrounds.

    Well, that's nice to know! I have been adding an Inner Glow Layer Effect, set to a dark color, on Darken Blend Mode. It leaves a dark edge all the way around, though, so, it has to be very subtle! LOL Must give this way a go!
    Thank you!

    i have used after i select the cutout, shrink selection by say, 1 pixel or whatever and that gets rid of most of the halo, of course i learned that a long time ago and i am sure your method is better, will try it next time, thanks for the tip. just an amateur here :)

    • @glyndewis
      @glyndewis  7 лет назад

      Not necessarily a better technique but just another to add in the 'tool box', What I like about this one is how you control how much it shrinks rather than doing it by one pixel then another etc... Does that make sense?

    • @snakeshiet
      @snakeshiet 7 лет назад +1

      i think for sure your way makes more sense, i agree masking is a better
