      I’m disappointed with this review tbh, he compared overclocked i7 to Ryzen 5, I don’t get it! What use do I have for this comparison? Ryzen 5 should be compared for dollar to dollar CPU from intel.... or at least show us what overclocking the R5 would result compared to overclocked i7.

      @@NatureQuest2024 Did you watch the video ? i7 8700k is the closest core for core, thread for thread ,dollar for dollar comparison that is available on the market.
      He dedicated an entire segment of the review to explaining that if you want to compare the 3600 to an overclocked i7 8700k you have to consider that at that point you are paying 83%more since you need to invest in a cooler so its a skewed and unfair comparison because you can get a 3700x for that money or a better graphics card(or both).
      Watch the entire video instead of graphs before you comment next time.

      Enso _ Do you follow this channel? Have you watched his videos in the past? In April he compared i5 to r5 2600, back then he didn’t do core to core/ thread to thread, this channel focuses on dollar to dollar value and comparisons.
      Also if you think about it, he opted not to use x570 board for r5 and used a previous gen board(which I understand why) yet he used a 90$ cooling fan for intel.

      Well the overclock made a big difference for many years so it is relevent. And there was no real reason to upgrade an Intel CPU versus AMD if you wanted more performance. I know. I was an AMD customer for 16 years. Glad I left. Zen 2 is 3 years too late. Like Tech deals said and I was already thinking: You are raving over performance that Intel owners have already cherished for years now. But keep listening to AMD when they say wait. Intel owners haven't had to worry much about upgrading or real performnace rather than just settling for less. Just saying. That's the hard truth. Intel will come back and with a vengence I am sure. I can wait because I don't need an upgrade .....

      @@GameCookerUSRocks Intel has been rehashing the same architecture for 8 years, with very marginal gains between each generation. Too bad Intel isn't releasing 10nm desktop CPUs until around 2021. AMD will be on 5nm EUV process by then, which will have around 80% higher transistor density than 7nm (and 60% higher than Intel 10nm). Intel's roadmap is a disappointment. Intel has 10 times the amount of employees and 12 times the amount of R&D budget over AMD, yet they are getting their shit pushed in on the desktop and server market now.

      @@mikem9536 Not going to make that mistake again because its actually not just 2% its much more. I bought Ryzen 1600 and these non X chips are trash compared to x600X or x700X processors. These chips cant overclock as well as the X variant and require 0.1-0.2V more for the same performance which is quite significant. Sometimes you may get little bit better chip and sometimes you will have problem to overclock to more than 300mhz over your base clock. Also the problem with ryzen is that if you do manual overclock you actually lose performance in most applications unless you use 100% of you cpu which is almost never. On all basic tasks the auto boost on X chips will get you higher clock and better performance for most tasks.
      I will be replacing my Ryzen 1600 on my old x370 with 3600X for sure :)

    • @eth_saver
      @eth_saver 5 лет назад +3

      @@linh811 All ryzen chips are same but they have different quality. Which affects their performance and power consumption. So the best chips will go the 16 core parts to get the best clock speed and power efficiency for such big cpu and the worst parts will go to the 3600 and other non X chips. My Ryzen 1600 didnt go over 3900mhz at 1.45V. While people with 1600x or 1700x did that at 1.35V or lower. You can go check video of Gamers nexus where he tests 3600 non X and states that it require more voltage for the same clock speed than 8 core parts. Which is consistent with ZEN and ZEN+ . The non X chips are bad chips that doesnt perform at their specification. Ofcouse you can find some reports on golden samples on the internet but thats minority that slipped through not VAST majority.

      @@eth_saver Ryzen never really overclocked well in general. Out of the box the chips are right against their thermal limits, especially the X chip. Also notice the 65W TDP ratings on the non-x chips, they are meant to be run at stock even though you CAN overclock them if you want, you kind of are throwing the 65W TDP out the window at that point.

    MSI B450 Pro Carbon AC
    Ryzen 3600x
    Corsair Vengeance 2 x 8 DDR4 3200mhz CL14 (samsung b-die)
    I really like how you recommend the B450 motherboard to pair along with the 3600x. This makes perfect sense to me. X570 is overkill unless you go with the 12core 3900x or the coming 16/32 ryzen 3950x. The new ryzens have closed the gaming gap so much that they have become so attractive....and the kicker is that they have kept that value proposition in play. Unfortunately, ryzen requires good ram. The intel platforms aren't as picky, nor do they require expensive low timing memory for top tier performance. I've read the sweet spot for ryzen 3rd gen is CL14 ddr4 3200 samsung b-die memory. This can be overclocked easily to cl16 3600mhz but there is less than 1% difference in performance between CL14 3200mhz vs CL16 3600mhz....but there may be 3-4% difference between the good ram and the cheaper cl16 ddr4 3200mhz

      i have a 3600x with the MSI B450 pro Carbon and it is running like a champ. I'm staying away from the x570 for the time being because that fan on the motherboard is just one more thing that will potentially break. The x570s are also way more power hungry. If you're tech savvy enough to follow simple instructions and can flash the bios on the b450 board, you will not see any performance gain on the x570. If you want it to just work out of the box without flashing the bios, then I'd go the x570 route

      @@jminix6287 another consideration for x570 is if you wanted to put in the 16 core monster that is coming in Sept. Even the 12 core 3900x would need something like the x570. I wouldn't put those in a b450 board. But do you want to go with a cheapo x570 or go with a premium b450? x570 is overkill for a 3600x. Also ease of use is consideration with x570....you don't have to worry about a bios flash for it to boot with the 3600x
