You can have resolution or you can have timeliness. Choose one. Love, RUclips.
Hey Techdeals, I just bought a Ryzen 7 2700x with a msi x470 gaming m7 ac board for a RUclips video and game streaming build my friend is gonna help me build it. Should I sell it and get this or is 2700x still OK?
@@annagulaev *_I love you, 3000._*
I remember you saying that the ryzen 5 cpus made no sense and just buy an old ryzen. Change of mind?
I'm so glad you tested the 8700k instead of 9900k, at least for the 3600x review. That's exactly what I wanted to see.
I would of just tested the non k version if I was him tho since he didnt over clock it for gaming clock speeds matters most in games same with the amd chip and then do an over clock on both chips
but why use a 2 year old cpu tho. I think he should have used the 9700(k). but I dont know if there is much of a difference...
@@xattr8403 The 8700k is still faster, thats why the test. Since the 9900k is still the hands down king for gaming. 8700k > ryzen 3000 for gaming ... Ryzen 3000 > all of intels line up in productivity.
@@nicholasbalser6901 I dont understand. we just saw that the 3600X is about the same speed as the 8700k, and almost as fast as the OCed 8700k. while the 3600X is way cheaper. it gets even worse when you compare it to the 9900k, wich is probably 20% faster than the 3600X but costs twice that much. but besides that, you didnt answer my initial question tho
@@xattr8403 its 6c/12t cpu comparison, not i7 9700k 8c/8t
This is the best review out atm.
Tech deals always thinks about the realistic scenario where price is a factor and not some fantasy land vacuum.
Excellent point of preferring 3700x instead of buying a cooler to OC 3600x.
Keep up the great work.
I’m disappointed with this review tbh, he compared overclocked i7 to Ryzen 5, I don’t get it! What use do I have for this comparison? Ryzen 5 should be compared for dollar to dollar CPU from intel.... or at least show us what overclocking the R5 would result compared to overclocked i7.
Again very disappointing
@@NatureQuest2024 I plan on getting the 3900x early next year
@@NatureQuest2024 Did you watch the video ? i7 8700k is the closest core for core, thread for thread ,dollar for dollar comparison that is available on the market.
He dedicated an entire segment of the review to explaining that if you want to compare the 3600 to an overclocked i7 8700k you have to consider that at that point you are paying 83%more since you need to invest in a cooler so its a skewed and unfair comparison because you can get a 3700x for that money or a better graphics card(or both).
Watch the entire video instead of graphs before you comment next time.
You are taking a dump on a guy who always takes time to make money to performance oriented comparisons about just that.
Based on multiple reviews, there are very little headroom for overclock on these Ryzen 2 and performance gain is negligible in gaming. I would just stick with stock cooler or buy 3700x instead.
Enso _ Do you follow this channel? Have you watched his videos in the past? In April he compared i5 to r5 2600, back then he didn’t do core to core/ thread to thread, this channel focuses on dollar to dollar value and comparisons.
Also if you think about it, he opted not to use x570 board for r5 and used a previous gen board(which I understand why) yet he used a 90$ cooling fan for intel.
It’s his way of showing AMD the middle fingers for not sending him test samples lol
is it just me or is this the only Ryzen 5 benchmark video?
everyone is bussy with their Ryzen 7/9's
This and Gamers Nexus who tested a 3600.
AMD didn't send anyone Ryzen 5 parts so the only two reviews up of them are from friends or 3rd parties sending them the chip for testing.
And ryzen 5 is what most of us are waiting for.

Guys, I've been following this channel for a long time and this is one of the most 'to the point' and 'unbiased' channel I've ever found.
for real!
I wouldn't consider myself a tech nerd so maybe I'm missing something, but how would you consider this video as "to the point"? It took almost 11 minutes for him to finally start the benchmark, which the title seems to say is the main point of the video.
lets be honest here. this gentlemen makes the best straight to the point reviews when its comes to graphic cards. great video. thank you
Straight to the point? His talking is why I unsubbed
AMD: $80 for another 2 cores
INTEL: $90 on a cooler just so you can overcock
$80 not only gets you another 2 cores but also a wraith prism cooler which is a fair bit better than the spire. Makes that value proposition even better.
Well the overclock made a big difference for many years so it is relevent. And there was no real reason to upgrade an Intel CPU versus AMD if you wanted more performance. I know. I was an AMD customer for 16 years. Glad I left. Zen 2 is 3 years too late. Like Tech deals said and I was already thinking: You are raving over performance that Intel owners have already cherished for years now. But keep listening to AMD when they say wait. Intel owners haven't had to worry much about upgrading or real performnace rather than just settling for less. Just saying. That's the hard truth. Intel will come back and with a vengence I am sure. I can wait because I don't need an upgrade .....
INTEL: And void your warranty for operating your K series chip beyond stock specifications.
@@toddsimone7182 Huh? I have never had a CPU fail from overclocking. And now it is even easier to OC with easy BIOS settings and also you can do it right from windows. So. Your concern is not very valid. Nice try though.
@@GameCookerUSRocks Intel has been rehashing the same architecture for 8 years, with very marginal gains between each generation. Too bad Intel isn't releasing 10nm desktop CPUs until around 2021. AMD will be on 5nm EUV process by then, which will have around 80% higher transistor density than 7nm (and 60% higher than Intel 10nm). Intel's roadmap is a disappointment. Intel has 10 times the amount of employees and 12 times the amount of R&D budget over AMD, yet they are getting their shit pushed in on the desktop and server market now.
AMD should be sending you all chips and motherboards...
You are putting in the work you deserve it
AMD should send Brother TECH all the DORITOS!!!

Straightly was waiting your review for the new Ryzens! Love how much effort you put in the video! Tech Deals 1 Mil Subs! Yeah!
Big shout out to Techs friend who lent him the R5 for this review. Cant wait for your reviews on the other chips
Yep, without that I wouldn't have had anything this morning... :)
Ah, the Ryzen 5 3600X review!. The only processor that matter for most people!.
@@mikem9536 Not going to make that mistake again because its actually not just 2% its much more. I bought Ryzen 1600 and these non X chips are trash compared to x600X or x700X processors. These chips cant overclock as well as the X variant and require 0.1-0.2V more for the same performance which is quite significant. Sometimes you may get little bit better chip and sometimes you will have problem to overclock to more than 300mhz over your base clock. Also the problem with ryzen is that if you do manual overclock you actually lose performance in most applications unless you use 100% of you cpu which is almost never. On all basic tasks the auto boost on X chips will get you higher clock and better performance for most tasks.
I will be replacing my Ryzen 1600 on my old x370 with 3600X for sure :)
@@eth_saver uh no, the VAST majority are the same, x or not
@@linh811 All ryzen chips are same but they have different quality. Which affects their performance and power consumption. So the best chips will go the 16 core parts to get the best clock speed and power efficiency for such big cpu and the worst parts will go to the 3600 and other non X chips. My Ryzen 1600 didnt go over 3900mhz at 1.45V. While people with 1600x or 1700x did that at 1.35V or lower. You can go check video of Gamers nexus where he tests 3600 non X and states that it require more voltage for the same clock speed than 8 core parts. Which is consistent with ZEN and ZEN+ . The non X chips are bad chips that doesnt perform at their specification. Ofcouse you can find some reports on golden samples on the internet but thats minority that slipped through not VAST majority.
@@eth_saver Ryzen never really overclocked well in general. Out of the box the chips are right against their thermal limits, especially the X chip. Also notice the 65W TDP ratings on the non-x chips, they are meant to be run at stock even though you CAN overclock them if you want, you kind of are throwing the 65W TDP out the window at that point.
@@eth_saver dude you are unlucky my friend's r5 1600 does 4.1ghz at 1.425v and 3.9ghz at 1.32v

Hey Phil! Nice videos you have on your channel!
The most fun review in all my notifications!!! And you mentioned the BIOS flashback thing right up front, the best info I have seen even after watching more than an hour of other reviews.
I'm new to PC building and for the past few months Tech Deals has been my go-to source. Thanks for being thorough.
Thank you for watching!
His videos are how I actually learned how to build PCs. They are very informative.
Fantastic video! My favorite from all the ones released. So many games tested with commentary as an icing on the cake.
You Sir are a real gem in the testing scene - good job!:) always getting me from hype mode to be rational mode ;)
thank you soooo much for these reviews
I was in the hype train for Zen2 but WOW, I didn't expect it to be THAT good. It was pleasing to watch even in 360p :D
@Warm Soft Kitty but the prices
@Warm Soft Kitty Not my fault that Intel hasn't improved from 2 years lol :)
@Warm Soft Kitty this new R5 CPU is way cheaper and they performs almost identical. now try to compare that i7 8700k to R7 3700X. this is karma for intel.
WOW??? you hace to be american from a bad school... THAT BAD actually
@Warm Soft Kitty you dont get it do you? He is comparing an r5 to i7 idiot. R5 should be compared to i5 and r7 to i7. Now look how amd will smash the intel. This r5 which is as fast as i7 is cheaper newer and with free cpu cooler.
Thanks for including the VR benchmarks! :)
Thank you for your detailed information. Really did helped me!🤗🤗
18:21 "Whatever happened to optimized games?" THIS is the real issue! :)
26:02 Funny Intel won Cyan room and AMD won Orange Room.
AHHAHA the irony xD
Thanks for the video, bud. This is the matchup I've been waiting to see, and last Sunday I thumbed from one review to another trying to find a comparison of the 3600x to the 8700k.
One of the best benchmark channels on YT. keep up the good work!
Thank you Tech Deals. You kept all the specs real whereas other reviewers choose expensive unrealistic items such as CL14 memory, etc.
I noticed that as well. CL16 for us standard users. and CL14 really won't make a difference at this end of the product line.
The first video i watch in 360p and i don't mind it one bit, it's tech deals powered and that is more than enough for me! Popcorns and ginger ale higly recommended !

Great review, much appreciated.
hello. i hope you see and quite possibly answer this. would ryzen 2 work on a asus rog b350-i gaming with the flash bios?
ps. love your videos
Awesome performance from the 3600x just wait till it gets fully optimized!
When games are optimized for 6/12 thread CPUs is when things will be optimized. This CPU is not the product that will showcase that technology in 5+ years. What you see today is what u get and it's a whole lot of performance for the price! If by optimized you don't mean game engines and mean manufacturing then the ryzen 5 4000 chip next year is what you mean
@@mikem9536 Which games.
@@itstheweirdguy you can clearly see games bottle-necked by cpu under all cores, also remember people dont just only play game at any one time, running chrome tabs, music, recording etc all impacts gameplay, intel even at 8700k stutters.

Great review! 👍
Great video...I just bought this:
MSI B450 Pro Carbon AC
Ryzen 3600x
Corsair Vengeance 2 x 8 DDR4 3200mhz CL14 (samsung b-die)
I really like how you recommend the B450 motherboard to pair along with the 3600x. This makes perfect sense to me. X570 is overkill unless you go with the 12core 3900x or the coming 16/32 ryzen 3950x. The new ryzens have closed the gaming gap so much that they have become so attractive....and the kicker is that they have kept that value proposition in play. Unfortunately, ryzen requires good ram. The intel platforms aren't as picky, nor do they require expensive low timing memory for top tier performance. I've read the sweet spot for ryzen 3rd gen is CL14 ddr4 3200 samsung b-die memory. This can be overclocked easily to cl16 3600mhz but there is less than 1% difference in performance between CL14 3200mhz vs CL16 3600mhz....but there may be 3-4% difference between the good ram and the cheaper cl16 ddr4 3200mhz

Could you compare 3600 Vs 3600x for gaming. With different GPUs
Don't bother with the x model, it's only around 5% faster, while costing 25% more.
Use that money and get a better cooler for the 3600.
@@GUBBIn1LL3R with decent motherboard and cooler 3600 can tubo as high as r5-3600x so why bother paying additional 50$. If you consider r5-3600x than it is way more rational to buy r7-3700x you get 2 more core for few bucks more.

I'm building a PC with Ryzen 5 3600X. Should I buy MSI B450 Carbon AC or to add just 20$ more for Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus WiFi?
Msi gaming pro carbon X470
i have a 3600x with the MSI B450 pro Carbon and it is running like a champ. I'm staying away from the x570 for the time being because that fan on the motherboard is just one more thing that will potentially break. The x570s are also way more power hungry. If you're tech savvy enough to follow simple instructions and can flash the bios on the b450 board, you will not see any performance gain on the x570. If you want it to just work out of the box without flashing the bios, then I'd go the x570 route
@@tomh2176 Yeah, I know there is not much of a difference but I just want to build a PC that will last long and not become outdated. That fan is also something that really annoys me.
@@jminix6287 another consideration for x570 is if you wanted to put in the 16 core monster that is coming in Sept. Even the 12 core 3900x would need something like the x570. I wouldn't put those in a b450 board. But do you want to go with a cheapo x570 or go with a premium b450? x570 is overkill for a 3600x. Also ease of use is consideration with x570....you don't have to worry about a bios flash for it to boot with the 3600x
Lots of guys have problems with the 450?....

The best benchmark and review video out there. Thanks for focusing on the massive price difference and explaining it so nicely because people aren't understand the price to performance ratio. You are the best.
i love how you dont beat around the bush, and you just get the job done. You are top of the range!!!
U were like a referee... Call a fight from team red and team blue...
Can you do r5 3600 vs 3600 x benchmarks?
If you are wondering, its really hard to OC a 3600 to a 3600X's level. Most Cant. So far I have noticed ~15 -20% increase in performance to the 3600X depending on benchmark.
I'm not an overlocker user.. so can i just buy 3600 for better value with decent performance
already ordered 3600 cant wait. Thanks Tech deals for doing the bench marks at stock clocks it shows for new buyers and builders what they are in for if they dont know how to overclock.
Your reviews are always awesome.
