X570 is just a much better board. The power delivery is much better on X570 and having PCIe 4 will be great for the next few years when graphics cards will hopefully start utilising the bandwidth. With Ryzen it's worth spending extra on the motherboard since you can keep it longer due to the socket not changing every year.

I personally woudnt recommend it, because when you are using such a high end gpu, then the cpu will have to push out allot of frames. The ryzen 5 3600 will get an increase of 20+ fps in most games over the 2600.

For all those who plan to build a ryzen 3600, I highly recommend to invest for an aftermarket cooler.
Not more than 2 days and I couldn't deal with those awful inconsistent temperatures, reaching in idle max 15% cpu load and my temperatures were at 59/79 Celsius, not to mention those are by adding thermal paste and not the stock one it has on the heatsink. Playing games like valorant and I reached 91c. Won't even talk about doing a stress test, I didn't even bother risking it. All those temperatures were calculated with different apps while having the fan constantly spinning.

Just bought the same MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard from Amazon this week and it ships with the Ryzen 3000 series compliant BIOS already updated. Even says it's compatible on the box. Just FYI for anyone worried about dealing with BIOS updates. The mobo was plug-n-play for my 3600x cpu. Running great at stock with 16GB of Corsair Vengeance 3200 DDR4, 1TB Corsair NVMe M.2 and an EVGA RTX 2070 SC 8GB GPU. Overall - I do agree that spending the extra for an x570 mobo is likely the best route. My build is not intended for upgrades down the road unless AMD really knocks something out of the park on the AM4 platform beyond the 3000 series.

I did basically this build 2 weeks ago. My Mobo+boot drive died. (I7 4770k). It wasn't a planned upgrade, so money was tight. I did a core system refresh. Ryzen 5 3600, 16gb 3200 G.skill ram, ASRock x570 mobo, and a 500gb Samsung 870 evo. I wanted cheap, reliable/proven performance that was upgradable. I can double my ram for cheap if I need to later, I can wait for a better nvme boot drive, and My current Geforce 1070 is still good enough for me to wait on the next major GPU series. Cyberpunk 2077 is my next major game, so I can see what the GPU's are like in march. Everything was on sale and had combo discounts (if you are questioning the 870 evo. it was CHEAP!). It hurts me to use a stock cooler.
