I'm old, and on a fixed income. Thanks is not enough, in my case. You, and all the guys like you, have probably saved me a few HUNDRED dollars in the last few years. Some day, when you're having an off day, think about people who don't have a lot, but who are biting into a pork chop or piece of chicken instead of a bowl of ramen because of the difference you make.
I can't believe I did it, but I did!!!! I'm a 71 year old woman and I changed the drivers side turn signal on my '18 Durango following your instructions! Yay for me!!
Directions in the video are spot on. Same directions for the V8 as well. Just did my 2015 RT driver side light that the dealer wanted $164 to do. Took me 6 minutes including washing my hands when done. Thank you for saving me some $$ and taking the time to document the procedure for others!!!!
Thank you for the awesome video. I'm a 63 year old woman and you saved me $300! I did the change out myself in about 15 minutes. I have a 2016 Durango and there are NO access ports in the wheel wells. I paid $8 for 2 bulbs and $2 for bulb grease to protect the connections. I'm so pleased to have found this video and made the swap out on my own! =)
I went to a shop. I was told I wouldn’t be charged for the bulb because they’re cheap but that he would have to charge me any where from $75-$120 to remove everything on top. After watching your video, I purchased the bulb for $8 and changed it myself in 5 minutes. Thank you
Just came in from following this video. I can't thank you enough. Took me 15 minutes and it's all done. Hardest part was getting the plastic vent back in and getting it around the washer fluid reservoir. This saved me some money Peter! Thanks again.
I’ve come back to this video multiple times now. Those dang turn signals go out constantly and all it is, is that burnt wire on the bulb itself. Thanks for saving me hundreds over the years!
Just did it. 10-15 mins top. In garage, wife held the light. Little nervous putting back on, a little tight and split the plastic a little but worked like a charm. Thanks so much.
You’re a genius SuperPete I just was told that same price from Dodge and found your easy well explained video helped me save $300 for literally a 5 min job smh. Thanks bro Major Kudos to you!!!!
This video saved me $$. I took my Durango in to get an oil.change and they didn't even ask me if I wanted to change out the bulb knowing full well that it was out. Not going to pay $300+ for a $10 bulb. Thank you for sharing this video!!
Changed my bulbs out, glad I watch this video 1st. 2015 R/T. Installed original amber bulbs, no resistor needed. After I got them installed and all put back together, It still hyper - blinked on my dash but not the actual blinker. I did find this out, turn on each blinker for maybe 10 - 15 second, then shut down your durango COMPLETELY. Start it back up and your computer should now see you changed them out. Took me about 15 minutes to do this, 10 of it was wrestling the plastic intake back together! Thanks a BUNCH!! Thumbs up!
Thanks for the video. This is very helpful for the turn signal replacement. As others have said, to replace the headlights, you need to go through the wheel well opening. This also only takes 5 minutes to do, also. 1.) Turn wheels to left to access the passenger side and to the right to access the drivers side, 2.) reach in and quarter turn the soft back cover for the headlight (this cover has a soft back with a hard plastic ring) and remove from wheel well, 3.) reach in and quarter turn to the left (counter clockwise) headlight and pull out of enclosure, 4.) lift tab and remove light from socket, 5.) insert new light in socket making sure it clicks (tab locks), 6.) follow steps 3 and 2 in this order to put everything back in place. The soft back cover is a little tricky to put back. It is easiest to get it aligned in your hand before going through the wheel well opening.
I was afraid to change the bulb but decided to try your method. Thank you so much. I saved myself $80, which is an estimate of how much it may cost from a mechanic. It took me five minutes. I’m proud of myself!!!! I can get my car inspected now. You’re a gem!
Omg.. my 2015 durango was doing the same thing, it would work for a few days, then it wouldn't, then the other side would stop working and then work again. I followed your instructions on removing the air intake assembly and took out the bulbs and saw where it was a little black on the contact. Scraped it a little to where you could see the metal contact again, reinstalled it and BAM! worked perfectly! Thank you very much for your help!
Fantastic video that clearly and perfectly explained it. A word of advice for anyone watching, be sure you’re pulling the right bulb out. It’s the black housing above the gray one. I spent five minutes torquing on the gray one only to realize it wasn’t the turn signal! Thanks for the awesome video.
Just followed your steps to replace both signal bulbs that went out within a month of each other (about 2 years from new). I added a bit of bulb grease to the contact points to hopefully prolong the life of the new ones. Your videos are awesome - thank you and keep up the great work!
Out of all the videos I watched this is the only one that shows how to replace turn signal without removing entire assembly! Quick and Easy...thank you!
Just got a 2017 Durango in April. It was over $100 for an oil change which about killed me since we’re living pay to pay and will be making payments for three years. I just found your page and subbed immediately. Thank you!
This was a very helpful video! It literally took me less than five minutes!! I appreciate it and now I look like a super mechanic to my wife!! Thanks again!
Thanks!!!! I’ve got a 2016 Durango Limited and this happened today. Followed your directions and got the bulb replaced. That intake was a pest to put back in but the entire job took no more than 5-6 minutes plus another min to wash my hands. Forget going to the dealership. Save your $$$.
This video was a life saver! Spent $8 on the bulbs and was able to do it myself! Only issue was trying to get the vent back in and maneuvering around the washer fluid reservoir but otherwise it was super simple and easy to follow. Thanks for posting!
Thank you Pete!!! Great quality video. Used the heavy duty bulb from Wagner, took 8 minutes. I had been to the dealer twice for this, they never thought to use a better bulb.
Thank you so much!!! I was so embarrassed to have an appointment scheduled to change a stupid light bulb. I can cancel it now! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I got a 2015 v6 durango and couldn't reach it through the wheel well. So I followed your directions and got it done in about 15 min as well. Had a little trouble putting back in the parts but got it done and working. Thanks for saving me $$$!!
Thank you so much for figuring this out. The dealership wanted $280 this morning to change the front turn signal and I just about passed out. I went to autoparts store and a pack of 2 bulbs only cost $5.35 and now I'm confident I can change both of them today. Thank you so much again.
Hi Pete. I love the Durango videos! You have simplified maintenance for those of us who refuse to pay a fortune for work we can do ourselves. I have a 2016 Durango and this summer my washer fluid would no longer spray. Turns out my hose broke. That is an item that doesn’t show up in searches and not many parts stores close to me had the kit. I would love to see a video on changing the washer fluid hose. Thanks for all you do. 😀
THank you! I was gonna take off the front fascia and mud flap and grill. So glad I watched your video. I just reached inside the engine bay, moved a few wire bunches and I could access both bulbs. Took longer to open the package and get the bulb out than it did to do the whole replacement!
Thank you for posting this, the dealer wanted $150 to diagnose the problem. I couldn't find a video that had the same issues as I had with my Durango until I came across yours. 🙂👍
Thanks, Peter this rocks. I did the passenger side of my 2015 Durango a couple months ago but the driver just failed and I had heard the "dealer install" BS. Your video confirmed what I had hoped. It is an easy, toolless fix if you know what to do. A potential temp fix (which I believe is repeated below) If people don't have easy access to new bulbs and need a quick (temporary) fix, chances are they can scrape the connector wire on the base of the bulb that has that burned black line across it. I used the back of a knife blade and just lightly scraped...you don't want to cut the wire. Asyou mention, I suspect this is also why sometimes the turn signal works once in a while after bumpy terrain. I did this temporary fix while on a recent trip and used it for a few months ( until the driver failed) Not sure if it is the bulb design or the connector design but don't really care. It is an easy replacement and a few spares only cost a Hamilton or two. Thanks again!
I have a 2015 dodge Durango sxt awd n my driver side turn signal stopped working and I got that message on the screen. I'm so glad I saw this video. Thanks for explaining on how to do it. It was very helpful. I did it like in 6 min. Should've waited for the car to cool off. Lol
After watching video I actually removed turn signal in about a minute and a half. I noticed filament was not burned so I swapped with the driver side turn signal and both work again. Thanks for the great video.
Wow! Thanks man. I never have done any work on my cars. I followed your instructions and literally replaced the bulb in 5 min. I will be looking for your other videos. Very easy to follow.
Well, you can take front bumper off or you can follow my steps and have it done in 5 min, look how many comments under this video people saying thank you and how easy it was. Remember, dealership make money on service not on selling car fees...
awesome video! one shop wanted to charge $50 and the dealer shop wanted $70 and stated we had to buy the light bulbs from them !!- took me about 25 minutes!
I needed to replace the drivers side headlight and couldn't figure out how and now see this video. Very helpful! thanks for sharing and keep making videos.
Thank you so much! Had the issue with the driver side.... your video saved me a trip to the dealership and tons of $. Replaced both to be safe in under ten minutes. Bonus, our cars are twins. 😊
I am going to try that tonight after seeing how easy it is to replace the bulbs. Thanks for all your videos, you make it look too easy! I wish you were my neighbor! haha
Hey, your video helped a bunch, thank you for posting. But then, when I was all done being helped by your video, I found a direct access hatch in the wheel well, no airbox removal required. Just twist and change
Very helpful I needed to change my passenger headlight and my air filter as well. Wasn't sure how to change the filter, now I know. Thanks for making this video!
I asked a parts guy to help me trouble shoot and he told me "these cars are made for you not to be able to work on." Forget that! Ten bucks for the bulbs and this video had me in and out in ten minutes. Thanks!
I thought you did a great job with this informative video as did your assistant! My driver's turn side burned out and the 2015 model I have was not even a year old. You were very clear and helpful. Keep up the good work. Love my Durango, finally an American car recommended by CONSUMER REPORTS. THANKS for your time and effort!
Nice video and spot on as I just followed it to replace my left side turn signal. Only qualifier might be to share that the first item you see is actually not the turn signal bulb plug but another wiring related piece. I removed that first before realizing it wasn't the correct one. There's no damage in removing it and is easily put back in. Just be aware that the turn signal is further upper right if you're facing the front right fender from the front. Still, great instructional video and well articulated. Thanks much!
Dude! I am not very handy, but you made it easy brother. Pulled it off in 10 minutes. Thank you so much. Been putting it off for like 3 months! Let me know how to refinish cabinets next, haha.
Thanks for the video. Just changed the drivers on mine. It took me about 5 minutes and I had issues with getting the breather tube past the air filter box on the way back in. Got my daughter to hold it so I could pull it thru. Saved me some $$$.
Thanks for the video. Just changed out the turn signal bulb on the driver side. It always feels good to save 99% with a $3 bulb and 5min of your time. Had the same problem: turn signal would work and then not work. When I pulled the bulb out, it had the same melted contact point. Thanks again.Btw- it all works the same for the 5.7 V8 Hemi in the 2014 Citadel. Someone else may have stated that in the comments, but if not I wanted to affirm that.
Bro, thank you so much for making this video I was staring at the driver side for sometime. I bought LED bulbs and thanks to you I can swap them out quickly, really appreciate your effort in making this video!
Thank you so much for this video! I was able to change the bulb myself on my 2017 Citadel and avoid paying BIG bucks. It was so easy and your instructions were spot on.
Changed both turn signs based on this video! Passenger side was sooo easy! driver side a little more complicated and my intake plastic piece did not want to come out, but was able to slip my hand in and change the bulb. Intake is the hardest piece to get out and in, but worth changing it yourself for $10 to fix both!
That was perfect. I have a 2019 Durango R/T with the V8 and it’s no different than what he showed in this video. Thanks again for posting this. Was quick and easy. 5 minute and done.
Great video: I want to put led's in my fog lights. 2014 Durango Limited 6cy..I found some h11, 60w ,5000 lumen a bulb , for under $40. My only worry is it has a small adapter. I know a lot of people that would love to see that video... And if you can also show how to do the headlights ..you will be a RUclips sensation...
Hey. Great vid, thanks. My bulb had the same ‘burnt out’ thing as yours. I used some Deoxit D5 spray and scraped the more stubborn carbon off with a razor blade. Didn’t even have to get a new bulb. Those burnt out bits are just carbon build up. Clean it up and put it back. Thanks again for the video. Saved me a heap of time and $$$.
I was able to get my hand in without removing the intake tube. I unclipped it as you did and was able to get at the bulb. The bulb itself was good but there was corrosion build up on one of the leads. Scrapped it off with a nail and it worked. Thanks for your help.
This video is no joke! I just changed both turn signal bulbs in less than 5 minutes. He is correct. The dealerships do want to charge you almost $300 just for the drivers side! I bought a pack of bulbs for $8.00. Click like NOW.
Thanks for this, pal. I was lamenting having to take out the whole air filter assembly and you just pulled it out in less than 10 seconds. I was dreading it, now I can’t wait to get out there to do it! LOL
Many many Thanks! I'm trying to save money where I can and trying to avoid going to the dealership cause it's an arm and a leg on the costs...But you are a life saver. 😄 Thank you again for showing how simple it can be.
Excellent video and very helpful advice. Changed the headlight in 5 minutes like you said! I did have trouble getting the plastic air intake back in and carefully removed the windshield washer fluid reservoir top plastic fastener just to get an extra bit of wiggle room. This allowed me to slip the air intake in easily. thank you for your money and hassle saving video!
This 2017 HEMI Durango thanks you for the video!! I was looking at big $$$ for this repair at the dealer even though the vehicle is still under warranty. They say bulbs are only covered for 1 year.
I'm old, and on a fixed income. Thanks is not enough, in my case. You, and all the guys like you, have probably saved me a few HUNDRED dollars in the last few years. You must had went to Auto zone. They are famous for trying to upsell. I assume that's why you left with the grease. Lol
Thanks a lot. I took one look at the driver side light and thought , "what a bad design" . With your help I did it.
Man this is awesome!! May God bless you and your family 💯 fold for helping hard working people to save money🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏☺️
You are welcome.

Thanks so much. I just changed my 2018 durango driver signal light all by my self and didn't need my boyfriends help.🙌🙌 You rock!!! 👏👏
You saved me 260 dollars...the dealer didn't understand why I canceled my appointment!! Thanks..Video was well done and easy to understand!!
That's crazy, WOW, happy to help
Thank you very much! Came to my brothers shop to fix it
He ended up being busy I watched the video and changed it before he got to me😂😊thank!!!
Thank you! This was really valuable! Even though you made this 7 years ago, it is still very helpful
Glad I can help. It blown my mind what dealer charges for simple job like that
Single mom here…thank you so much for this video! Did it myself thanks to you and this video!

Getting it back together was a SOB, but this was a huge time and money saver!
Changed my bulbs out, glad I watch this video 1st. 2015 R/T. Installed original amber bulbs, no resistor needed.
After I got them installed and all put back together, It still hyper - blinked on my dash but not the actual blinker. I did find this out, turn on each blinker

Thanks for the video. Just changed the drivers on mine. It took me about 5 minutes and I had issues with getting the breather tube past the air filter box on the way back in. Got my daughter to hold it so I could pull it thru. Saved me some $$$.
Thank you... very helpful. I've used your instructions for my 2014 Dodge Durango and whaaalaa. Now it's the turn signal.
You 4 years later after you post safe me $250 ! Thanks !
Literally as easy as you showed it in the video. I would have spent a lot of time trying to figure this out - your video was fantastic. Thank you!
Thank you, my gf send I just changed both headlight bulbs in under 15 minutes..... greatly appreciated !!
That was perfect. I have a 2019 Durango R/T with the V8 and it’s no different than what he showed in this video. Thanks again for posting this. Was quick and easy. 5 minute and done.
Excellent video. I looked and thought I was going to have to pull my tire to access the headlight assembly. This made my day. Thanks alot.
Glad I could help!
Thanks for everything my man! I installed it on my 2017 GT but it took me a few mins longer than 5 mins lol
Thanks for posting this video! just replaced mine in about 10 mins! Really appreciate it!!
Ya same mine just went out and you video really helped if I have anymore problem imma just look you up thank you.
U owe him 299$ lol jk
Awesome video. Instructions are spot on. Took me 7 minutes instead of 5, but that's probably because I have large hands.
Glad it helped!
Great Video I just did it on a 2017 durango and was 100% the same way. You save me a lot of money.
This video is no joke! I just changed both turn signal bulbs in less than 5 minutes. He is correct. The dealerships do want to charge you almost $300 just for the drivers side! I bought a pack of bulbs for $8.00. Click like NOW.
Thanks for this! I had no idea on how to get to the driver side blinker. Saved me time and money!
Thanks for this, pal. I was lamenting having to take out the whole air filter assembly and you just pulled it out in less than 10 seconds. I was dreading it, now I can’t wait to get out there to do it! LOL
Excellent video. I was at a loss but this really helped me. Thank you so much.
Many many Thanks! I'm trying to save money where I can and trying to avoid going to the dealership cause it's an arm and a leg on the costs...But you are a life saver. 😄 Thank you again for showing how simple it can be.
Who would have ever thought that replacing a light bulb would be an expensive repair? Thanks for the tip.
Great video. Replaced the blinker bulb just like you demonstrated. Less than 5 min!
Thank you for saving me 300$ just changed my bulb was super simple
