    This is the most thorough R & R video I have seen to date. Most You Tube mechanic videos don't show how to remove the fasteners and connectors, this one shows it all. Very well done!

    Thanks so much for this tutorial! Really saved my arse while visiting my son 12 hours from home and my passenger side headlight went out. The only thing different in my experience was that I didn't have to drill out those 2 plastic rivets holding the fender trim in place, I was able to pry it out with a flathead screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers. Other than that, exactly as described. Great job!

    What a job just to take the headlight out! I tried replacing hid bulb in 2012 rt through the access hole in the fenderwell and broke the bulb. Considering this but cant believe how difficult it is but you did a great job explaining how to!

    Awesome video. I have a question. I have a Dodge Durango 2012 Citadel. I am having a difficult time finding chrome passenger headlight assembly with a module. My mechanic who I would like to install it has been unable to find one either. He said biggest piece of advise is if I find it make sure it has a module. What is a module and how does it look? I did not see you mention a module in your vehicle. Thanks in advance for your help!

    Great video, is the 2016 Durango the same? I would guess it's similar to the 2014 that you had commented on already. I purchased a 2016 Durango R/T and the front bumper fascia has something under it from the factory. The is a dimple near the top center of the cover. The dealership said they would fix it but I would have to drop it off at there body shop. No thank you!

    Wow , what a pain just to remove or replace a headlamp module. You wonder what they are thinking when they are making these things . On my

    I looked up your video to see the wiring harness for the low beam. Since it's dark I didn't want to run out there again. But, I have a 2011 with the low beam harness that has melted. I have bent the connector over a few times to get it in contact, but I think it's done for. It's the driver side. And has the 2 part clip that you show in the video at 12:43. Where can I get this part, or is there a better fix? Seems like heat is just going to melt it again. Thanks.

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  7 лет назад

      I have seen the 2 wires connector terminals melt before. We found that its a common connector and used on other brands of vehicles as well. The local auto parts store had one in stock the last time we had that issue. I dont remember the part number at the moment but it worth calling them and ask for the bulb and then see if there is a repair connector for that same bulb. If so then make sure to solder the newer connector wiring in place and use weather proof heat shrink. Hope this helps. Here is a quick search that I did and what I found. See if any match what you have. www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/search/Headlight+Connector/01514/C0189.oap?keyword=connector&year=2011&make=Dodge&model=Durango&vi=1447822

      Looks like they have them. $14.99. I'll go pick one up. Thanks so
      much. I had a 2007 Acadia with the same problem. GM Recalled it
      though. Not seeing any recalls for the Dodge. Why are these prone to
      doing this? I can understand heat build up, but are they shorting out
      to cause this? Seems dangerous as well.

    2011 Dodge Durango electrical problems all the warnings lights on dash came on.Wipers on also No code at Autozone when checked What is the fix for this?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  5 лет назад

      Sounds like a communication issue.....when there is an issue the wipers will come on and headlights so that worse case scenario you can still drive at night and in the rain. Sounds like there code reader doesnt check all the control modules. Most likely a code is set somewhere in one of the modules. It takes a high end scanner to access all the modules and to check for codes. Its not an easy thing to check and the causes could be any of the modules and any of the wiring.

      What what I can see by part numbers....no. To be certain I would have your local Dodge dealer look up the two year models and see if the same part number using your VIN #. I have limited access to that but from what I can see.....looks like only 2011-2012 and possibly 2013 are interchangeable....just dont quote me on that. The thermostat is located where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine. Its a matter of draining the coolant.....removing the upper hose from the engine and then removing the 2 13mm bolts holding the housing on and then remove the thermostat. The coolant temp sensor threads into the timing cover usually near the top.

    Hello i got a 2013 durango i got a code P0730. is it a costly repair?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  7 лет назад

      The price will vary alot.....it could be simple or require a trans overhaul or replacement. The first step is to check the trans fluid level to make sure thats not the issue. Otherwise the code just says in what gear the issue happened and not what caused it. Its a general code and not very specific.

    Ridiculous poor design to go through that level of removal to replace everyday use bulbs. That should be a deal buster for any future Durango owners. The new 2019s I looked at appear to have the same buried lamp housings. Great video on the disassembly, though. But damn that is irresponsible for Dodge to accept that assembly to continue.

      Evening.....there seems to be some confusion. The video was actually for the headlamp assembly (housing). You don’t have to go thru all these steps for the bulb replacement.
