I like the fact that you literally showed everything even the type of bulb. Out of all the videos we’ve seen this was the most helpful. The other ppl didn’t point out what type of Durangos they had and so their lights were different. This was the best for us and we have a 2017 r/t. Most detailed and helpful video by far!!!
@@doingishwithish622 So, I posted my first comment while waiting for the bulbs to come from Amazon. They came today and although frustrating at times, I got both bulbs replaced. Despite being a 5'0" tall female, I apparently have man-sized hands as it was a bit tricky with such little room to manuever. The hardest part for me was getting the bulb unplugged. Finally had to get pliers shoved up in there. Bottom line, I am grateful for your video as it saved me hundreds of dollars... and every dollar matters to this widowed single mom of two teenage boys!! Thanks again!
@@pansykoelsch8904 awesome! I’m glad this video was able to help you out. And even more glad that you a single mother banged this out! That’s awesome 🙏🏼
Broooo u are a life saver because the dealership told my wife they have to take her whole front bumper off to replace the lights and wanted to charge her $600 for labor when u literally just did everything wit one hand💪🏿
I’m one of the big hand guys. Tried up through the holes…uh nope…. Pulled Air Intake off the top. It’s literally right there. 100x easier. Best vid I came across though. Got me going in the right direction. 👍. (2016 Durango Citadel V6). Dealer wanted $350 per side, I was shocked. Sylvania Ds3 was $104 at AutoZone.
Imagine being quoted $360 for them to take the bumper off and install lights when you did it in less than an hour and for waaaay cheap… thank you so much brother
This was the best video I found. I changed both bulbs in 40 minutes. Also order the same bulbs in the link and they arrived the next day, probably bc I’m literally 10 mins away from the Amazon shipping center😂. Great video, really helped out.
So I didn’t know about the access points in the wheel well and popped the hood. Looked at it and said fuck it, called local dodge shop to see what they charged to install. The guy said they are tough to do cause you have to move shit around and yada yada. Quoted $780 part included… $780!!! 1 headlight, not even both bro. Laughed at the guy. Knew it couldn’t be that damn hard so looked and found your vid after watching a few that didn’t explain shit. Cheers man, appreciate ya.
Getting the light bracket back on takes a little pressure to get it to secure properly. I kept getting a loose connection until I finally got it to line up. I'm glad I didn't settle when I got a loose connection those bulbs get hot and would've been problems if it was touching the wrong surface. Thanks you for saving me a grip.
Great video. I was able to complete this now thanks to seeing you do it. I hope i have your patience and if that noisy neighbor comes over i wont tell him to stfu like you didnt😅 Btw i got to the rubber bulb cover easier through the hood opening. At least on the passenger side. Peace and thanks again
Thanks helped the most. By the way I did have a clip. Found it easier to use flat head and wedge between body and plug and twist to get it started. Aholes as Dodge could have given us an inch more of cable. I also found it easier to put the new bulb in first then plug the cable and clip. Other issue I had was the cable to the other light. It was in the way to put the waterproof cover back on. Slid on top of cable to get in the access hole above the cable and then back under the cable to put it back.
Also very stupid when searching for bulbs for 2017 RT only 9005 come up at parts store. Never asked if I needed HID. Had to buy try to install and go WTF. Then when I went to go back to the store they wanted $150 for a new bulb, again WTF. While at the store I looked them up on Amazon and I got 2 for $50. Are these guys insane? Oh and when I showed it to the parts guy he says yeah but I have it now. It was 11am, Amazon delivered it home at 6pm.
mine had the same issue and the fuse kept popping, so we know there is a short somewhere thats why, but we took it to the dealer and they said it was a balancer or something like that and it messed up because we put hid lights on when its the same lights we ordered. do you know what that is or hear of it?
I’m back! My other side went out… I can’t remebwr for the life of me how I unplugged the silver plug when removing old one… I’m about to use a flat head?
Why not use oem equivalent or better. In my expeirance hid vary so much especially off brand or no name bulbs. My original bulbs lasted till 160k miles why change to something that won't hold up or last. Osram xeanarc 4300k are oem bulbs a good upgrade is the osram night breaker laser.
Truck only has 30k miles and the OEM went out, I guess some things have better luck than others? Still running the lights with no issues till date. Light pattern looks good too!

Only video that actually helped 👍🏽
Omg! Best video for Durango HID bulb models. Actually was able to remove everything- such a tight space to work in! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks bro! Nobody explained how to take that clip off.
Appreciate you 👍🏾
Great video! Just replaced both bulbs today and your video really assisted me. 40 mins I had both sides done.
Yeah it's 3 years after you posted your video, but thanks! You made changing the bulb easy.
Thanks alot saved me a ton of cash having the dealer do it!!

Super helpful video so far! I’m struggling with the getting the cable off though… did you have to squeeze it the pull the cable off the bulb?
Pliers worked!
Thank you, this was very helpful. Still bloodied my hands up though!
Ouch! Sorry about your hands, glad you got it done though!
Were those stock/oem HID's that you replaced?

I bought 9005 and found out my wife’s truck has hid. Can I still plug or I need a conversion kit?
You have to use D3S bulbs if she’s got HID. I put a link in the description to the bulb you’ll need if she’s got factory HIDS
@@doingishwithish622thanks bro went based on many videos that popped up, but only 9005 came up.

Wow you do this swap 1 handed 👏 and I broke a nail taking the first cover off!
Your Durango sounds awesome! What kind of exhaust do you have?
I only had my 2017 Durango 8 months and both headlights are out. Did you check the fuses first or just decided to change the bulb?
I replaced the bulb on that side because it randomly went out. It was giving issues little by little, then finally gave out.
@@doingishwithish622 I just went ahead ordered the bulbs from your link good looking 👌
Thanks for this video homie

Do your light bulbs work that u got from. Amazon
So within a few days one went out 🤦🏻♂️ I’ve bought a set from another seller but haven’t gotten around to installing them.

New bulb didn’t work… what fuse could be blown?
v. nice. thank you.

Got it…. Two fingers same hand while laying bulb against the side for leverage (just pull, like he said in video).
I have a question don't know if u know but I have the same Durango so here the shot, is there anyway to adjust beam pattern cause mine sucks big time
Can't place picture but I get a V pattern beams focus off the road and I can't see anything in the middle right Infront of me
Great Job 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

I just received my HID 6K and tried to install innthe dark outside in 25° weather, I gave up, going to wait till day light.
I can’t disconnect the HID cable out
Is it color or no
