HIGHLY VALUABLE - Only video I found that said to turn THE COLLAR, as opposed to trying to turn the square base of the bulb - Thanks very much, 7 years later!
2 things, thanks for the video BUT I was easily able to get to my bulb and change it from the top without having to remove the plastic inner fender at all. Just takes a bit of patience and the right feel. SECOND and this is probably more important, I had assumed when the light wasn't working that it was the bulb. It wasn't, apparently there is a fuse for EACH HID headlight (#15 and #16) check these first. In fact, all I did was swap them and I got the bulb working again.
Thanks for this video. The dealership was gonna charge me $130 for labor cause they said they'd have to remove the front bumper. I'll do it myself. Thanks a lot!
This was an excellent and very QUICK way to do it. Literally three push pins removed and had this done in less than 3 mins! Thanks and do not believe any overhyped mechanic ego on here that says you should go through engine bay!!!!! Not true!
Just replaced mine today on my challenger, took me about 1.5 hours. Pulled both wheels off to bend that wheel well shroud out of the way. Used bungie cord to keep it open. Just make sure you put collor on the new light the same as it came off the old one. Great video thanx!
Personally if one bulb goes out do them in pairs. It is nothing to remove the bumper, remove the whole headlight assembly and do all the bulbs. Your good for another 5 or 6 years. Outside of that great job replacing the one bulb! Cheers!
I just replaced the bulbs on my daughters 2015 charger and you do not have to go through this process you can do it by simply lifting hood up and do it from the top it’s easier to remove the air filter compartment to get to bulb on right side and the left side is even easier you will save a lot of time and effort, just saying
Not necessarily on a hellcat - there is a secondary fresh air tube that comes from the front grille (true cold air induction point), and replacing the air intake box is a bear - very easy to break a tab on that intake tube wrestling it back in place.
@@alfredotorres9655 I finally got it off after I purchased new ones. The new ones went on and off so easily. The factory ones literally felt like I was gonna break the plastic off. Scared the crap out of me each time I tried. But after my new ones came in, I said F it and I’ll break them off. After applying a lot of pressure they came off.
Check the fuses first ! Just was going through this process and it was a pain in the ass , saw a comment about the fuses and sure enough the bulb was fine it was a blown fuse
Found it easier on the driver side to just remove the whole air intake and i had enough room to put a basketball in there. I had plenty of room to maneuver.
Dealer wanted to charge me 400$ just for the bulb. Thanks for showing me this! Luckily all the components that don't work are on the passenger side, much easier to get my hands into it from the engine bay. I just wish I knew where I can get a matching after market bulb. -2015 Dodge Challenger R/T.
That's insane! I got a river remover pry tool and the his light at AutoZone. 200 for the bulb and 5 for the tool! What madness these guys are too much.
Don’t ever buy one bulb. Replace the set. I recommend color temperature between 5500 and 6000k. You can regularly find them on eBay for $30 for the pair. The dealer is a complete rip off.
That clip is a Bxx for me man did you like squeeze it and turn counter clockwise? Because I’ve been turning it counterclockwise but it’s resisting and I even blistered a finger in the process
Went threw the engine bay took 10 minutes a side easy headlight clip has to be turned to release and put back on and turn it at an angle like it was when you removed it still a great video
What's up I got a regular 2017 charger did you go get those 6k from the dealership or did u buy them online they look easy to Install I wonder if they make them in 10k blue and price or website if you can find please let me know thanks
Where can i get the white thing you took off from the old bulb and put in the new bulb? Because im having trouble finding it. I have a 2014 charger RT with the new 2018 stile headlights but the regular LEDs dont fir because it looks like i need a little bracket.
Is this specific installation for a V8? because I have a v6 and changed mine out in 10 minutes just by removing the air filter housing. The other was easily accessible.
If I put it on and the light doesn't come on, what could be the problem? I noticed there's a little metal clip that holds the plug in place. You did not mention that.
I can not remove the white locking collar off the old HID bulb. It just won’t come off. I have a 2017 GMC Acadia Denali, not sure if that matters or not. But it won’t come off. Any suggestion please. Thanks.
This is a bad way to do it. Going through the engine bay is MUCH better. You have plenty of room once you remove the intake, which takes less than 5 minutes. You need to be able to see what you are doing, and you cannot see through that tiny gap in the fender area... plus, I don't want to be yanking out my fenders if I don't have to. Also, those bulbs you bought look like cheap China crap. If you are going to replace your OEM bulbs, use Osram CBI or Philips Ultinons.
It's a damn shame I had to search for this video just to change a fucking lightbulb. Modern cars are clearly not designed with the do-it-yourselfers in mind. When you upgrade from the yellow bulbs to the white led ones, is it just a plug in replacement? I read somewhere you need additional connectors and such to convert the bulbs
The headlamps are of two types: 1. High Intensity Discharge (HID) 2. Halogen bulbs. You can get white xenon lights in either types. You'll have to check what kind of headlamps your car came with
Because I have very small hands I'm going to try to from the top if that doesn't work I will be trying it this way.. thank life saver, my dealership said over $100 just for one side
Hi. I recently financed a 2015 dodge charger and all of a sudden one of the headlight went out and then couple of days later both went out. I checked the fuses under the hood, looks all ok. Please note the led day lights does turn on but not the headlights even if I have it on auto or on headlights position won't turn on. Please help
I just bent the metal flaps a little then wiggled the connector off. I just spent the last hour fighting that bitch only to find out I didn't need to buy that ridiculous $250+ bulb. It was just the RH mini fuse halfway melted and the LH ain't much better but still clinging to life. Hopefully the warranty will fix that.

Before doing all this, check you fuse panel to make sure it’s not that simple. 20 amp fuse independent left and right circuit.
