$150k for a Honda Integra Type R really has showed how insane the world of cars continues to become.
I almost bought a nice one in 2001 for about $12000 Canadian. It was a nice car, but only marginally nicer than the base model Civic. The hot ticket was that B18 engine and swapping it into an EG with a turbo. I can’t understand why it’s worth over $100k, that price seems outrageous for a twin turbo Supra.

Not really, think about the cars that were considered classic in 2001, a bunch of boats from the 1960s that high school kids used to obsess over. In 2023 it makes sense that the new sought after cars are the high revving lawn mowers high school kids obsessed over in 2001.
People that pay that type of money will never drive it again 😢

I have an idea for scoring!
If you were to tally up how far each person was from the actual price, you could then do "lowest score wins." It would be a little different than just "closest guess gets a point" and would reward consistently-close players. Would be a little more math, but it also has the potential for massive outliers (like the mercedes or the porsche) to be a major upset, which could be entertaining.
just an idea for some extra variety.
Replying to hopefully make the algorithm pay more attention to this fantastic suggestion.

I don't like the idea because what if some is very consistent and close the whole show and at the end when it comes to a super rare expensive car he guesses 500k to low and loses because of it

Even though my guess for the screen used AMC Pacer was only within my mind, I'm still embarrassed at what I thought it was.
I was in the passenger seat of my buddy's IROC Camaro when he crashed it lol. Our friend in front of us took a corner too fast and spun out (it was raining), we had to go straight off the road to not t-bone our friend. It was off a small hill so we caught some decent air before plowing through a fence 😂
When i had my apartment one of the neighbors had a 80’s iroc z but it had been wrapped around a pole
3rd gen RS 25th same color scheme as the Iroc here... hit by a minivan, while parked.
Got my 86 iroc sitting in my driveway no poles for that one yet
That is what they are good for - my first car was an Iroc and I have another im rebuilding. They will never be worth more than 15k. The last IROC that sold for 100k had 5 miles on the odometer. This one was not worth it by any means.

I miss the up to speed, bumper to bumper, and garage science videos. Although that video about Porsche making gas from air and water was super dope. I like these videos too, but I really miss James yelling his catch phrases and hearing about the history and updates on cars and brands.

Well, I mean, there are a good amount of obtainable cars that look pretty good in the 23-27k range, it's not "cool" to drive a Mitsubishi mirage even if it's brand new and only costs 16 grand.
I was looking at some random car onweship information a few days ago. It stated that 80% of America have a loan on their car, 12% of America lease their car, only about 8% of Americans own a car they have fully paid off.
According to this we can't even afford used cars either.

My Second car I got was in like 2016, it was a 95 Red accord sedan (Auto). I bought it from an auction for $150.00: It needed windshield wipers and a battery, 158 K Miles. F22b2, nothing special, but it did have a Greddy Muffler lmao.
I sold it to a friend at the time for like $800, although he said he'd give me $1,000. Always get all that money from a "friend" upfront lol
My 3rd car was from another auction, a 2000 Black Accord Sedan, with leather and a 5 speed. I spent $360.00 on it at the auction. 238 K miles on it, F23A1 engine which is great.
To be fair it did have a weird issue where it would start and die immediately . I brought it to my dad's favorite mechanic who told me "Wires from the ignition were out of their protective casing and they were making contact with the axle and shorting out"
I still have that car :)

My dad used to have a 1990 IROC Z, it was one of the most fun cars I've ever driven, he got it for like $3000 in like 2012, I miss that car so much

I have killed 3 WRX (5speed) gearboxes but never had engine failures.
Also all my street cars have been Subarus and i never had single engine failure dude.
@@aldisdzerve2264 my guy I own a Sti and and own them since 2011, not every single Subaru is prone to blow up. However, most Subarus nowdays are going to blow up due to people not taking care of them and subaru having the boxer engine on that. Is not a matter of how they were before, is how the person who owns them now takes care of them. If you bought one after 2016 most definitely only if you’re lucky you can drive your Subaru without engine problems only trans and some unknown oil leaks that somehow the engine is full yet it leaks
@@aldisdzerve2264 if people took care of them like yourself and me then Subarus would not be on auctions with blown up engines or 3 gear missing or money shift, and somehow differentials gone
@@AdrianLopez-gp9yz Yes exactly!!! I only do handling mods on mine but leave engine and boost pressure stock. + good oil and oil changes every 2k miles. That and proper warm up and cool down... Like i said - never had issues with them!

I am 58 and there are a few cars I owned that I wish I still had. #1- 1970 GTO that I had when I was 17 #2-1973 Plymouth Duster with a 318 Yellow with white interior and Bucket seats #3-1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby Turbo Z, Daytona Blue with gray interior.
An old friend of mine had a 89' Dodge Omni GLH decked out in shelby edition had a 2.0L brought up to a 2.2L after he added a crazy supercharger on it. He had wide stance tires all around. Everything was upgraded all around. Only problem was it kept blowing coolent hoses. Wonder if he ever figured that out. Was silver with a burgandy interior. He did originally have it turbo charged. It really hauled. Had a falling out tho.

We are the global reserve currency. We quite literally play by different rules. When every country in the world needs dollars to do any business, this will obviously continue.

I had a Plymouth Horizon 199..1? back in the 90s when i was in HS. Turbo 4 banger, 5 speed. All i did was use a fuel line clamp to restrict the turbo wastegate vacume line and id get mass Hrprs! Dude it was so fast, i used to take out mustangs and camaros with it. It was the only american car i ever owned that i loved, we called it the "white ghost" lol.

Donut media nailed it with their cast.. my parents could care less about cars, but they love seeing their favorite people..(James, Jeremiah, nolan, Zack and justin "the teddy bear" (my mom loves you)).
The second car I ever owned I got back around 2000, it was a 1976 AMC Pacer, identical to the Mirth mobile, minus the flames. That car got more attention and looks than my Chevelle did. I actually miss that car.
This is one of maybe 3 pages that I genuinely enjoy the sponsored ads. They always make them fun and comical. Also, Nolan could probably start a new career as a voice actor for ads lol.

My friend Nathan has a Mercedes like shown in the list. He got it from his dad at 14 and when he eventually got to highschool he low key had the BEST car in our school.
We had no idea his little “box” Mercedes was actually a lion in Sheep’s clothing.
I don’t think he himself even knew how much it’s actually worth. He still has it too. (I was 17 when he was 14. He was a school friend of my Sister/Brothers) which is how I actually became his friend.
His family lived in our little neighborhood (Lower middle class) yet come to find out they’re like lower upper class income.
You would walk into their house and literally see a rack of vintage cigars and bottles of wine. Fine fine China and All the newest stuff like smart fridges and stuff (This was literally years ago before they where mainstream)
When I finally went in and actually saw it all I literally had to pick my jaw up.
