Hi Chuck, I haven't tried Pure Raw 3... But this denoise in Lightroom must be applied on the RAW file within the LR catalog. Then it creates a separate DNG file - I think you can further compress that, but you would have to go out of Lightroom for that, or use Rawsie or similar.

Yes, it's fast enough for sports, but the AF is not as good as current Canon R cameras' AF
How well does it work with astrophotography? Is it comparable to Pure Raw 3? Finally, do you apply it to camera raw before converting to DNG?
