I am very impressed with this new addition in Lightroom, plus curve adjustments are now available within masking, Lightroom is getting better each time.
Yeah, you would have thought a huge company like Adobe would be leading the way with this stuff, but definitely playing catch up. Will be interesting to see if the other apps come up with anything new in response. Thanks for watching. 😊
Cheers John. Yeah, they've won me back a little bit with this feature. From reading other comments though, seems like it doesn't work particularly quickly for some people. The other apps might still have the advantage there, until Adobe patches. Thanks for watching. 😊
What's the best Denoise apart from LR? It does not work on my smartphone raw files (yet) so I'm looking for an alternative. Tried Topaz but it adds to much AI artifacts for my taste in the details.
I'm just using the Lightroom DeNoise feature now, but DxO PureRaw RAW worked best for me prior to that. I think you can get a free trial, so you could test it.
@@donnawetter1513 That's annoying. There's something called Adobe DNG Converter. It's free to download. I've never used it, so no idea if it works, but you could try using it to convert and create a new DNG, that may then work in Topaz or DxO. Worth a try.
Hi, I can't say how long it would take for your particular setup, but on my iMac it takes about 30 seconds to a minute. It's considerably faster on my M1 MacBook.
@@Robert-Bishop hi, thanks for your answer,i recerch it more and i discovered is the graffic cards fault...all systems is brand new fast and strong..but the card is from before and cant keep up
The cpu is not working in this task. The Gpu is used for AI enhancements. So, it doesn’t matter if you have an i5 or latest ryzen , the video card is to blame for slow results.
I have tried this LR denoise twice and both times it froze my computer for what seemed forever. Will keep trying! Or back to DXO. Probably user problems knowing me. Do you know the minimum computer requirements to run LR denoise smoothly? My laptop is not cheap and is only a year old so I was surprised it froze trying this. Thanks
I'm not sure if they've updated this since the Denoise release, but the general Lightroom requirements can be found here helpx.adobe.com/uk/lightroom-cc/system-requirements.html - It definitely runs slower on my Intel based Mac, although that one does have 40gb RAM so maybe that compensates a bit. I think updates will probably speed up the feature a bit hopefully. Thanks for watching. 😊
For me it's a no brainer. I'm already paying for LR and I don't really see a big difference between this and the competition. The only downside for me is it takes 8-10 minutes per image on my laptop.
Edit: Although I'm wondering now if it's because I'm doing other adjustments in LR before applying denoise. Maybe it would be better to denoise first then do my edits....🤔
My guess is that they've tried to launch it sooner rather than later, and it's maybe not performing at optimal speeds for some people. I think future updates should speed it up. It might work quicker on an image without any edits, but in general I don't think the order of your workflow should make a big difference. Thanks for watching. 😊
It makes sense to keep it all in one place, so I'm pleased Abobe have caught up with the pack. I just need a better PC so I can upgrade my versions to this new version 😂

I don't often use curves in Lightroom, but it's great they're adding stuff like that to masks now. HSL adjustments on masks would be nice!
A great addition - I'd tried it out on some high ISO images and just as you demonstrated Robert and it worked a treat. Adobe finally catch up !!

Great video Robert will be trying this out this week looks good and will stick to Adobe. Keep up good work.

Tried with low light pics taken with my micro 43 over 6400 isos, worked perfectly, astonishing. Cheaper than getting a Full Frame aha.
That's great - 6400 can be pretty rough on those small sensors. Glad to hear it passed the test. Thanks for watching. 😊
@@Robert-Bishop exactly but for most part it is rare I shot at 6400 iso now no fear even to push higher. If only would be that simple for video
@@Les_Carnets_de_Tom is there any technology like this for videos?

@@Robert-Bishop Topaz works with my phone, I just use this until LR supports everything.
How can I remove the denoise from my images please? It has made my files too large to upload
It creates a new file, Steffie. You'd have to delete the image with Denoise applied (it will have an 'Enhanced-NR' suffix) and open your original.
I've heard people say it takes them up to 15 minutes to process it, odd, for me it takes around 30 seconds per photo.
Yeah, trust would be a deal breaker. Might be a graphics card thing. Thanks for watching. 😊
Hello, how long more less need to make the process the denoise ai?
I have amd ryzen 7 5700x 32g ram and radeon rx 6400 card graffis.. please help

Thanks for the info. I notice PureRaw and Topaz both run faster on the same machine, so guessing they don't make as much use of the GPU as LR.

A few people seem to be reporting processing time as a problem. Hopefully Adobe get that sorted out with future updates. Cheers for for watching. 😊
As the new updates fallows it will get better and better , soon it will overtake other software.
Yes, I think you're right, which is fine for those who can afford it, but the Adobe subscription is out of reach for many people.
Seems On1 denoise still destroys this. What am i missing?
I haven't tried it, Daniel. I'll have to look into it and do a comparison.
