Zelda: "I need you to relay a message. Can you please tell him that I-" Deku Tree: "Wouldn't it be best if you told him, yourself?" Zelda: "It's from the Sword, though." Deku Tree: "Oh... then what is it the sword wishes to tell him?" Zelda: "I... believe the batteries in his Wii Remote are nearly depleted."
I find this memory a lot more beautifull in latin Spanish, because the Great Deku tree tells Zelda something like: "Princess, don't you think that the most important words, those that come from the heart, are better told in person? "
Zelda: "I need you to relay a message. Can you please tell him that I-" Deku Tree: "Now then… Words are intended for him sound much better in the tones of your voice, don’t you think?” Me: I realize she was gonna tell Link that she loves him.
zelda, pretty sure leaving the master sword at the shrine of ressurection would be WAY easier instead of me collecting 10 more hearts to pull the stupid thing out of a stone
Terlinilia yeah but the sword is literally deteriorated before Zelda places it back in the pedestal. I’m sure the deku tree knows of some power to restore it
@@donovannchapackdee3935 That would be nice, but I fear they might find some contrived way to take her out of the picture again at the beginning, leaving Link to rescue her again. We do see her falling into an abyss in the trailer. We'll have to wait and see if that actually happens or if it's a dream or vision or something.
Hope Nintendo has rhe balls to show a ZeLini " I love you" or a kiss one day. But Tears of the Kingdom pretry much confirmed that yes, they do love eachorher and are a couple.
Ok so I have a theory for the “tell him I-“ part : (another theory than “I love him”) Basically in Master works we’re told that the princess clearly intended to sacrifice herself to seal the calamity forever but words well chosen by the Deku tree made her change her mind (p.389 I translated this from the french version I have that’s why maybe it’s wrote differently in your book) For me, Zelda wasn’t trying to tell link that she loved him, but I think the phrase was something like “Tell him I am sorry but it was my role” or something, why would she be sorry ? Because she wanted to sacrifice herself. The deku tree, saying that it would sound better in the tone of her voice clearly intended to tell her, implicitly, that dying was not the solution.
Right, she expected to sacrifice herself and wanted the Deku tree to tell Link she loved him since she would never get the chance, but the Deku Tree told her to tell him herself which changed her mind into holding out for Link’s return instead of dying.
It's confirmed in the Kass side quests...once completed he tells how his teacher was in love with the princess but she only had eyes for her appointed knight. Whom he was very jealous of. He also witnessed her saving him when she unlocked her power...and he believed it was Zelda's love for Link that did so. It was an intended love confession....why act like that when the Deku tree told her it would be better said in her voice....as in telling her to confess in person...
I don't fully agree on that. But it's a good theory. I don't think she would say sorry because she seemed happy to say it. If she was about to say sorry then her tone would have been somber or guilty. Her tone in the cutscene seems like she is ready to confess her true love towards Link.
I don't know why, but i just watched this scene and all of zelda's lines were muted. I heard the deku tree, but had to read what she said. And when Link slashed the air with the blade before putting it away i didn't hear much sound.....i don't know what happened, but i hope it isn't anything serious. 😮
Technically, Ghirahim could as well, provided you play the first boss fight poorly enough in Lanayru’s rematch. But since it’s explicitly stated the fight is based on Link’s memories of the encounter, a fight he had the Goddess Sword for, does it really count?
Can someone tell me just WHEN did Zelda put the Master Sword back in the forest ? I mean, after telling her soldiers to get Link to the Shrine of Resurrection, didn't she rush to face Ganon and got trapped for 100 years ? Or do you mean before facing Ganon she took time to go to the forest, have a chit chat with the sword and the Deku Tree, deep breathing before sealing the sword etc, while her people were left being slaughtered by Ganon ?
After she beat the guardians at Fort Hateno Kakariko and Hateno were safe, and ganon didn't really send that many guardians to the other races because he already had the divine beasts that he took over there. All of the guardians were back at the castle to make sure Zelda couldn't get there now that she had the sealing power unlocked, so she had time to put the master sword in the Lost Woods because she knew one day Link would come back to beat ganon and it needed to be ready for him to do it.
Yeah I wondered if that was it. "Do you remember me" doesn't start with the "I" she began with. While I agree it's a bit of a trope with anime, Link and Zelda have been like that since "The Adventure of Link" so it works.
I don't believe she was gonna say she loves him. Honestly saying she's sorry is just as powerful and is just as hard to say, especially after the relationship they had in this game. Not everything has to revolve around love, friendship and trust are just as powerful
why didn’t the princess just use the master sword to kill Ganon herself it would’ve much easier but I understand why Nintendo did what they did with whole bringing Link out of stasis and whatnot, but either it would’ve been awesome to see Link and Zelda both use the master sword against the Blights and Calamity Ganon himself
After the events of Skyward Sword, specifically Blessing of Hylia which unlocked it's true power, only Link and his reincarnations can wield the true power of the Master Sword. One could argue that perhaps the remnants of Hylia's Blood could give this Zelda the ability to use it, but the Sword is explicitly to be wielded by the Heroes of Legend (Link and his reincarnations). Her holy weapon is the Bow of Light anyway.
Zelda: "I need you to relay a message. Can you please tell him that I-"

That image of the Master Sword standing in it’s pedestal is so beautiful. Very reminding of the artwork of the Master Sword from A Link to the Past.
If one thinks of it, Zelda herself has had few interactions with the Master Sword. But seeing as how Link is its true bearer, it's understandable.
In a way it's sweet. Fi is trying to save her master...and Zelda isn't aware of what the voice or whatever is....awwww

Just use the master torch instead
She leaves the sword there to heal after all of the damage and scaring it has been through
It's because first she doesn't want monster to steal it or second she wants it to heal

You know what I realized? Zelda doesn’t make any appearances during the actual gameplay, only in the cutscenes.

This memory isn't from Link, so it being seen is unusual, unless it is a memory of the Master Sword.
My personal canon is that after Link pulls the sword, Fi probably showed him this memory, but I could be wrong.

How can this be a memory if Link wasn't there?? Maybe Link was seeing the sword memory?

Nah, Zelda has carried it in the past. She never uses it but she's held it before. Wind Waker is the first example I can recall.

Just saw the game's true ending, and I *still* have no idea what Zelda wanted to say to Link.
probaly, i dunno 'do you still remember me?'
I hope that wasn't it, since that would be anti-climactic.
