What's the confusion?
Ok I will clarify. The doctor always talks about how the dalecks invaded galafraiy and the doctor had to kill everyone on the planet by blowing them therefore killing all the time lords except him.
Except it's was never that they killed off, they were placed in a time lock, removed from space and time and unable to interact with reality. Their existence rendered moot, but all still alive. His memories just got jumbled where he thought he murdered countless innocent.
Wait there were people who didn't like this episode? How? Episode seemed perfect for what it was. Only fan head cannon i saw get reck was possible sweetie-mash...

I don't think that at all! I think this was perfectly put, and we have to remember that this is a kids show, so that can't do the more intense fanfics. Also don't forget they did show some shipping. (And Doctor Hooves was so funny OMG!!!)

But what will happen when we have 5 treehuggers in Equestria? Or 10? Or 3.98x10^27? What then? And what of the treehuggers in our plane of existence? What will we do with them? Soon, we will all be treehuggers, and end up reproducing with various types of trees. I don't know exactly how it will happen, but since they can procreate with an abundant natural resource that we need to survive and thus can't destroy, what can stop them? I'll tell you. Every species in every reality except treehuggers needs to evolve the ability reprodroduce asexually, similar to the method a cell uses during mitosis. Then and only then, will the multiverse have a chance at ending the odd race of things that fulfill the physical needs of trees... somehow.

I'm not a fan of the amounts of fan pandering, from Derby's first line being muffins to Octavia and Vinyl's musical duet. I get this is a love letter to the brony fandom, but as asome who couldn't give a dang about the background ponies this episode did nothing for me.
(Though I did like Celestia and Luna's bickering, and seeing Cadence and Shining Armor)
And if all that means I got a stick up my ass, I'm not removing it

well, as a story perspective, your right in that the execution was really jumbled, but look at the title card."slice of life". life doesn't have a beginning, middle, and end like a story. life isn't going to flow well. if you were to look at it as a whole, it looks pretty jumbled, and i feel that this episode was able to portray how jumbled life can be, but how, in the end, everyone's little lives contribute to something huge.

Maybe it's the places on the internet where I hang out, but the reactions I've seen to Slice of Life have been almost exclusively positive. It was fan pandering done right. Confine it to a single episode. I didn't mind if it felt a little jumbled, because it wasn't about the overarching plot so much as the individual stories. That's how slice of life works.

The episode was made just for us, and I loved it! Pandas and all! :) It's great to see that Hasbro recognizes and appreciates the people who fill their pockets with money and who have made this show the most successful thing they have ever produced. Sure it was all over the place and as a regular episode, it really failed lol. People are free to think what they want about it, but it will always be one of my favourite episodes because of how they took time to appreciate us! I'm flattered! I am proud to be a fan of such an awesome show and to be a part of such a fantastic community! Here's hoping for another 100!

This episode is like the whole show. You love it or you hate it. Nothing in between.
I left the fandom during the hiatus between seasons 4 and 5, but I had to see this episode and your review of it, loved them both.
You shouldn't look at this as a normal episode, even Larson said it's just for fun and shouldn't be taken seriously.
Hasbro made an episode specifically for us instead of making something with another crystal castle to make sales and you are saying that it's still mainly to make money. Seems a little ungrateful to me. No hate tho, I love KP.
The scene with Vinyl that parodies *Mad Mad : Fury Road* was quite amusing.

i don't get how people can get such tunnel vision in there opinions. like mine, i would give anything for spike to become a competent and respected character in the show. its that going to happen? no. they need to keep the male characters from getting any lead roles as it will undermined the whole majority female cast thing. so spike will never get that respect because that's not what the writers want. but at the same time i wont speak negatively on every "spike fucks up again" episode because i like this show.

I don't understand how anyone couldnt have liked the episode. It's everything we as a fandom could have asked for! I would love to see this done again without the wedding concept cuz i wasnt to keen on that but it still worked. I'm soo glad it happened and it's by far my new fav mlp episode.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: this episode is a lot like birthday cake: it's a huge celebratory episode, so it's fine if they pander a bit at the expense of (some of the) episode's quality. So long as it doesn't become a regular thing, it's nice to see that the staff is paying attention to what we do with the background characters and our various headcanons.

In my opinion, I thought the episode was awesome! I like how we got a chance to see the ponies everyone loves to fabric or other things about, like Derby or Octavia and Vinyl. The characters were well done when it came to personalities. All in all a great episode (by the way Doctor Hooves is now best pony)

not gonna lie... I don't care too greatly about this show, but I enjoy it. and this episode actually was very enjoyable. it took the focus off the whole "magic and friendship" theme for a bit and just had fun with itself, it joked about how it only takes 30 minutes to wrap up a friendship problem and that monsters aren't a big deal anymore. it lets the internet nerds have their references and the writers do something different. and honestly the VS/Octavia thing was just good imo, the collaboration itself was enjoyable and the whole bit of riding around ponyville picking up guests by accident with a giant dj station while octavia still plays was pretty funny.

I see people are still making the common mistake of reviewing episodes as part of a whole, looking how it fits with the series, rather than taking each episode as a separate entity and reviewing it on its own merits and in context of creator intent.
Also, I love the hipsters not liking the episode on the pure merit that it was explicitly fan-service. Screw any entertainment value, they were acknowledging a fan-base and while trying to do something fun so it obviously must be terrible.

Ok... this episode WASN'T bad... AT ALL... one of the better episodes by far for this season...
Had an idea about the whole "Dash pokes the panda" thing. She could have already been bitten by the bug bear, and couldn't do much with her upper left torso, and trying to ram it at high speed (standard Dash tactic) would make the wound worse.
Or something.
I absolutely loved this episode. I watched it about 4 times in one sitting. Thought it was perfect.

KidSnivy69 I still loved it. I was laughing all the way through, and to see the back ground ponies brought forward even for one pandering episode made me smile. I don't care that it was mostly fanfiction becoming cannon. I thought it was really cool for them to give such a huge shout out to the people that make it possible to do what they do for a living. It's rare you see a show go to that length to thank the fans. It was also nice to see what happens in ponyville beyond just the mane 6. Don't get me wrong I love em, but it's nice to see there's more to the world then just the mane 6 and the villains that fight them.

I never said you couldn't. Look I realize this is a love letter to this community, I understand why people like it; however I never gave one damn about the fandom creations of the "ensemble darkhorses" know as the background ponies so to me this episode means nothing to me
And I'd prefer world building with the secondary characters, we are in 100 episodes and we still haven't gotten a Celestia episode. People like the Cakes, Cheerile, Big Mac, Cadance and Shining Armor, those are the character I want focused on.
KidSnivy69 Indeed. I'd like to see them as well. Here's hoping we make it to 200 episodes and get to see all of those characters get fleshed out. I'd like to see applejack get more development behind the same repeated lesson story she gets, same with spike. I'd like to see a day in the life of the princesses outside of their royal duties. I'd like to see Zakura a bit more, and many of the characters you mentioned. I just like the world in which ponyville exists so I liked to get updated on the lives of all the ponies in equestria.
