This will always be my favorite video on installing dreads because your video is the only one I've seen so far that shows people how to permanently install dreadlocks into already existing hair instead of just braiding it in. You're amazing at what you do 💖
I bought a ton of extensions for my miserable existing dreads that were easy enough to put in but when I was done I realised I wanted to turn my short bangs into dreads too... this is really saving my life!
Make sure you get a residue free shampoo! It's key for keeping your dreadlocks happy and healthy and clean. And always DRY YOUR HAIR. You don't want any water getting stuck in there and creating dread rot over time. My biggest issue was getting the root area fully dry. Best of luck on your journey! I had two sets of dreadlocks and learned so much about them each time. 💕 Here if you ever have any questions!
Would love to add as a person with partial locks, and long hair that after so long your dreads will naturally keep to themselves. I'm 2 years in and I no longer have issues having to constantly separate my straight hair from my locked hair!
They look great, and I like the diameter you chose. I haven’t seen human hair dread extensions done, only synthetic; I like the look of human hair more. I’m sure a lot has to do with the time and care you put into making the individual dreads, but I LOVE that you can bleach and color the natural hair!! Thanks for sharing ☺️ Also, you should get a thimble for you sore thumb, it will help!! 👍🏼
Hey, nice to see you going back to dreads. A long while back I watched your videos about the synthetic dreads, and I made some and put them in. I liked the look so much that a few months after that I got actual dreads and def still have them.
It defiantly adds more volume and length. And I think all people with thinning hair would appreciate it. And short hair. I went from short blonde to long brunette dreads. .this girl is a doll and a babe.
I was looking for a good clear easy vid to show my friends list, I just finished dreading a set up for my 4th go at perm locs. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
Oh my goodness!! Thank you so much!! I just bought dreadlock extensions and have been looking for tutorials. This was perfect! I have shoulder length hair and had no clue how to attach them. Thank you again! I enjoy your videos!!
thank you for this! I have dreads for roughly 2 weeks now and I'm growing out my undercut for 5 months..I really don't want to deal with the look of these short hairs in the back peeking trough anymore🙄
You make it look so much easier than it really is lol my arms were so tired after messing around for ten mins with one and it wasn’t even secure so I gave up lol
Do you ever take the little rubber ties out, cut them? Thanks great video, I put mine in today, I shaved a deathhawk so I only have the center hair and I used 30 DE braided in locs 💙🖤🧛🏻♀️ luv it so much
You've done a lovely job. It is so much harder to do on your own head. What length extension did you use? Also, I know you mentioned in a previous video wished to preserve as much length as possible but if you stay loose when you begin the extension is is a bit easier to attach.
I had to cut off a dread that started good and after a year ended up MEGA thin at the base. I'm planning on doing this extension thing when the hair grows more, I will redo a short chode-dread and hopefully will be able to attach a dread extension so it catches up to the rest.
I am currently looking for some human hair extensions to do dread lock extensions. I know that after dreading the extensions they become a shorter. So how did you determine the length of extensions that you needed? In other words, How much should I be prepared for the extensions to shrink after dreading?
i recently added extensions to my dreads that were extended from their creation. i think i did a decent job attaching the new extensions although when i rub my fingers on it, i can feel that there is a tiny loose gap between the new extensions and the existing dreads. i am using a crochet hook to bring the hair from new extensions into my hair but is it possible the two may never fully intertwine?
Hi I've just done the unthinkable. I cut my dreads as it was killing my neck and felt they was sucking the life out of me.i kept them.abd thought I could see them on a bun thing top knot ? Got any ideas...? Has I just found out I'm going to be a nan. It was time I threw in the towel. But .....I changed my mind x
I’ve been looking for a video like this. I have short, thin, soft hair. It is kinky. However, you’re technique gives me hope that I can install my extensions myself. Did you ever remove the rubber bands? What size crochet hook are you using?
I couldn't sit there for 8 hours to install my synthetics anymore so stopped wearing them. I can't imagine how many hours this would take me 😮😪😓 ace tutorial BTW
SARAH WILLSHER I was just about to ask the same thing. How do you remove them. I am about to do mine and want to know how to remove them just in case, ya know? Be prepared lol
I just added one dread to my head today! How long did you leave the rubber bands on your dreads? I’ve read take it off right away, a week, and let it break off on its own.
Silly question but do you take the rubber bands out? Also can you do this with like cheek length hair? My top is cheek length and my sides and back are shaved.
Hey Tessarr. Another interesting video. Been excited for this one. Love the high nostril piercings. I want anti tragus as my next piercing and something in the other ear to compliment it, dont know what yet though. Any suggestions? I already have tragus and helix x💜x

How would I remove them? Without cut hair off.
Would love to add as a person with partial locks, and long hair that after so long your dreads will naturally keep to themselves. I'm 2 years in and I no longer have issues having to constantly separate my straight hair from my locked hair!
Would you ever do a full head of dreads? I feel like that would suit you so well!
Crap, you scared me with that “fine toothed comb” thought it was a razor blade 😱
Same!
It's a head lice comb
GIRL!!! My mind is BLOWN! How amazing you are this is like magic!! I need this in my life hahaha
I did my dreadlock extansion, with your videos. Thank you.
I love your creativity! So awesome!

My cousin has asked me to install her dreads after wearing them with a costume and this was perfect!
It defiantly adds more volume and length. And I think all people with thinning hair would appreciate it. And short hair. I went from short blonde to long brunette dreads. .this girl is a doll and a babe.
So glad you explained the nice piercings. I was so sure you didn’t have them in the last video I watched 😂
So helpful. Started doing dread extensions as a business! It has really taken off!
I was looking for a good clear easy vid to show my friends list, I just finished dreading a set up for my 4th go at perm locs. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

Yay! Your very welcome, glad it helps!🙏🏻
Me too.. My only question is after I'm done with doing the extensions can I take out the band's? Or no?
This is what I'm growing out my undercut for!
Wooooo
Did it ever end up working out? I currently have an undercut and want dread extensions.
Me too! Soo looking forward to install them!!
This is a different technique than what I e already learned but best believe I’ll be doing just this next time 😊❤thank u!! For sharing!!!
You are just so adorable! Your voice is very soft and soothing, also you have a very kind face. Like you are a gentle person. 😊😊🌺🌺
💖💖💖
I miss my dreads. There fun to have and watch, they change every day after the first month.
Yay! This is definitely what I'm going to be doing with my undercut. They look amazing. Thank you for sharing!!! 💙💜
It looks so cute on you!
I adore you and your videos.
You made this process so simple. Thanks!
you make it look so easy! I really want to do this too!
Edit: i did 4 rows and they look so neat! Love them!
They look fab! I might give it a go.
thank you for this! I have dreads for roughly 2 weeks now and I'm growing out my undercut for 5 months..I really don't want to deal with the look of these short hairs in the back peeking trough anymore🙄
🙌🏻🙌🏻😆
yane I feel that I was trying to find a way to handle my undercut so I dreaded it and was like waaaaaaay too short lol
Finally someone that doesn't just braid the hair around
Looking good, keep your eye on them, the extensions might fall out after a while, mine did when they were baby's :)
omggggg you helped meeeeeeeeeee i love you so much rn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You make it look so much easier than it really is lol my arms were so tired after messing around for ten mins with one and it wasn’t even secure so I gave up lol
Glad ur back Tessa 💜 love watching ur videos. Love ur hair in dreads and ur new piercing xx
You have a lovely personality 😊
Love your dreads!! 💙✨
After I finish it all can u take the rubber band's off?
I was wondering this too? Lol
I’m sure you can just cut them out😊
You look adorable. I love your high nostrils as well. I miss mine. This was helpful..thank you!
They look amazing on you girl!!
I didn’t know you could dread synthetic into your hair?? 😮 how long does that last??
Do you ever take the little rubber ties out, cut them? Thanks great video, I put mine in today, I shaved a deathhawk so I only have the center hair and I used 30 DE braided in locs 💙🖤🧛🏻♀️ luv it so much
how long after the locks are created can you dye them?
This was very informative! Thank you!
Love your hand tattoo. And this is an amazing tutorial.
Thank you so much!
They look so cool!!! I'd pay you to do mine for me 😅
Looks fantastic! My son wants this done with extensions I will give it a go :-)
You've done a lovely job. It is so much harder to do on your own head. What length extension did you use? Also, I know you mentioned in a previous video wished to preserve as much length as possible but if you stay loose when you begin the extension is is a bit easier to attach.
How do you take them out when you need to readjust?
I had to cut off a dread that started good and after a year ended up MEGA thin at the base. I'm planning on doing this extension thing when the hair grows more, I will redo a short chode-dread and hopefully will be able to attach a dread extension so it catches up to the rest.
Oh cool!!! I didn't know you could do this, that's awesome!

So how did you determine the length of extensions that you needed? In other words, How much should I be prepared for the extensions to shrink after dreading?
How did you dread the new growth after adding the extension. I like your method of attaching the dread the best.
ruclips.net/video/5TlMNt5VHrY/видео.html here my video on maintenance :)
You make it look so easy. I can't do it 😣😣
Can you use a thumb thimble a soft one?
Someplace where i can buy it extensions like that, really i want!
im planning on doing my own dreads soon, does your hair get damaged after taking it out??
A couple deep conditioning treatments and it's back to normal. :)
That’s awesome what’s the shortest length hair you could add dress extension too ?
have you tried using a rubber thimble to save your thumb?
supercool! ik heb net 4 dreadlocks in mijn eigen haar gemaakt. Wel met mijn eigen haar, zonder extentions aangezien mijn eigen haar al erg lang is :)
Woohoo!
Could you possibly keep synthetic dreadlocs in for years ?
Entiendo que las gomitas después, se quitan, no?? 😊
Can you do this with synthetics?
Would this work with wool or just human hair? I am stuck in between doing my own actual hair and doing extensions like this
Alex Raplee wool dreads are a thing. People make them.
When you attach the dreads to such a short length, the hair growing out will dread as well correct?
The hair that grows out would need maintenance every 4-6 weeks with a crochet hook :)
So how do you maintain (wash) these, how long can you keep them in, and how do you remove them? Thanks so much!
Shampoo in the shower like normal focusing on the scalp. The longest I've worn them for is 6 weeks until they need rebraiding.
Thank you
Can i do that on DE dreads?
i recently added extensions to my dreads that were extended from their creation. i think i did a decent job attaching the new extensions although when i rub my fingers on it, i can feel that there is a tiny loose gap between the new extensions and the existing dreads. i am using a crochet hook to bring the hair from new extensions into my hair but is it possible the two may never fully intertwine?
Gorgeous 😍😍 surely your arms get sore though?
i was also wondering about your new piercings. did you make a video of getting it done? i don't think i've seen a piercing like these before.
Il be making a q&a video on them soon! :)
Hi I've just done the unthinkable. I cut my dreads as it was killing my neck and felt they was sucking the life out of me.i kept them.abd thought I could see them on a bun thing top knot ? I have 3B curls, I am having dreads coming in the mail and a little nervous. Any advice?
How would we detach them? Just curious before I commit.
Awesome video. My arms are aching for you. :-)
I’ve been looking for a video like this. I have short, thin, soft hair. It is kinky. However, you’re technique gives me hope that I can install my extensions myself. Did you ever remove the rubber bands? What size crochet hook are you using?
Wicked glad to help. I used a 0.75mm crochet hook. And removed the bands when finshed they only for the sectioning :)
Thanks! Youre awesome ♡
💖
I couldn't sit there for 8 hours to install my synthetics anymore so stopped wearing them. I can't imagine how many hours this would take me 😮😪😓 ace tutorial BTW
Rid synthetic fabric dye works on synthetic hair
Love and respect for you from India🇮🇳 my name is chirag
If u do it this way does it have to b done with real hair dreads? Also how do u take them out if u want to change them xxx thanks really need help
SARAH WILLSHER I was just about to ask the same thing. How do you remove them. I am about to do mine and want to know how to remove them just in case, ya know? Be prepared lol
Hi, what do you mean about the dreads to "mature"? I'm a total noob in the dreadlock theme :D
How often do you wash your hair?
Looks so cool
Pretty
What happens to the rubber bands you used to gather the hair? Do they eventually break and fall out or do you cut them out?
Take them out after a couple days :)
@@TessarrGoad thank you so much!! When I get my extensions in, I'm going to be trying this method!
@@TessarrGoad TYSM!! You have answered every question I've had in my mind.. Except one. Can I use synthetic dreads too? Or no?
Can this method work for a little longer hair
The longer the better!
I so badly want to put my dread extensions in but every time I try I just can’t seem to do it! So annoying :(
Is it possible to wash hair with them in?
Yes ofcourse !
Thanks girl ,this video was very knowledgeable 🖤☠🔪👻
Your lobes look really healthy! How do you maintain them?
Jojoba oil
I just added one dread to my head today! How long did you leave the rubber bands on your dreads? I’ve read take it off right away, a week, and let it break off on its own.
Awesome! Remove the band after a day :)
Nice 👍🏽
Silly question but do you take the rubber bands out? Also can you do this with like cheek length hair? My top is cheek length and my sides and back are shaved.
Yes remove the bands when finished they are only for the sections. Hair can be 4 inches long for attaching dreads.
for how long will they stay in your hair
yes
But how do you get them out
Hey Tessarr. Another interesting video. Been excited for this one. Love the high nostril piercings. I want anti tragus as my next piercing and something in the other ear to compliment it, dont know what yet though. Any suggestions? I already have tragus and helix x💜x
Thanks so much sweetie! Glad you liked the video! :) Oo yeah a anti tragus would be awesome! Or even a conch piercing! ;) xo
Tessarr I think conch piercings look amazing. For some reason I think it looks like it would hurt but guess it would be similar pain as a helix?! x💜x
Ive been going mine out since march this year, and mine is barely the same length as your undercut lol
