I'm in the city and I park my gx in many tight spaces and I rarely want the door to open all the way. Most of the time I'm parked back up to a trash can or another car so I have to be real careful with the door. This shock would totally thrash it out. Looks cool but not for me.
The work seems done very well. However, it completely baffles me why you would replace something that never fails with something that is guaranteed to fail.😂
You cut an aluminum plate from flat stock that reinforces the door. This video is almost longer than the time it takes to do this. I have done 3, my personal has been done for over 5 years and works like a charm, just be careful if you have a full-size spare swing arm.

That's a genius idea. "Door popper" and you can totally wire those into a remote switch.

Bc I hated that the door would hit me every time I was on a hill. Adding a shock keeps the door open no matter where I park.
Did the slide lock not work?
How much stress are u puttting on the door with that trait at all times? That metal isn't so thick. Over time may be an issue ?
