My husband is crazy clean with his truck. We were about to go up north and he Had to clean the bird poo off, the already dead bugs and brushed off all the leaves because heaven forbid anyone sees his truck dirty. By the time we got there it was worse than before we left. 😅
Okay having to torque oil pan bolts every 10k miles is a new one I've never heard of it but deciding to fix the leak with silicone and ruining the engine is a classic.
By the looks of it he used way too much and didn't let it cure. While not a great idea it might have been ok with just a kiss compared to half the tube
My son works in a body repair shop and has many horror stories about people who bring their cars in stacked to the roof with trash and covered in mold and expect workers to service their vehicle. After the second time he's gotten a weird infection he's now refusing to work on them.
A cousin of mine almost died of some disease caused by rats piss. It took a while to figure out what was the issue and cure him. Never underestimate what a filthy place can cause.
Pls be careful when you heat up Ball joints, the plastic inside will melt and gases start producing a high pressure. A mechanic in germany died because he got a fragment of a ball joint directly into his heart.
Props for putting the notes on the chapter markers! The advice to remove ball joint grease fittings (if present) or drill a hole into the ball joint before heating is spot on. I'd much rather have a little burning grease than turning it into a bomb!

Just got done changing the oil on my girlfriend's 05 CRV. Love the people before who put antiseize all over the oil filters threads. I broke two screwdrivers and my oil filter wrench getting it off.

I just worked on a 2016 Jeep Wrangler that had a Flask filled with alcohol under the driver seat. Even has his name on it. Gotta deal with the traffic somehow.
That ball joint exploding but happened to my brother... Sounded like a high power rifle and blasted a chunk out of the concrete. I still have that on my fireplace mantle over 20 years later.
Two things of note: Segment #5, I know of no motorcycle that requires oil pan retorquing. I can't believe the disgusting, filthy cars that mechanics are asked to work on. I would refuse to touch any of the ones shown here. Apparently some vehicle owners have no self-respect. I would be embarrassed to bring in a vehicle looking like any of these!
1:47 I did this with my 2014 equinox, same 2.4 unclogged the stupid breather port with a wire and then put a screw in that hole in the plastic manifold. worked great and oil consumption went way down.
I feel bad about the cars being a bit dirty due to me not physically being able to spare the effort to clean em. But man there was some downright NASTY vehicles in this one. How people let them get soooo bad is beyond me.
Some people dont know when the car over heats you need to pull over and shut the engine off. I had a GF crack a head because she drove her car when the engine was overheating. Lucky her Cuban father had some mechanic friends that got a replacement head and replaced the water pump that went out that cause the overheating..
Recently had my car start to overheat while driving, even though I'd filled the radiator that morning, and I had had work done just a few weeks earlier. Turned out a hose developed a pin-hole leak. Fortunately, I was driving less than two blocks away from my preferred mechanic's shop when it started overheating.
Some of these mechanics are better men than I am, cause I wouldn't do it. Your roach-coach or mold-mobile can go on down the road. I don't need money that badly.
I imagine it's a legal mess, but dealerships should have some sort of clause to allow them to reject any recall work if the car is unsafe to the health of the technicians. I can't believe how disgusting some cars are.

I've seen more than a few ball joint explosion videos from heat application. I count my blessings being I've done that many times to get bound/seized ball joints out of knuckles and have not had this happen... yet.
I put my Chevy into a ditch when I was 17 and the engine was full of water. I drained and flushed and cleaned and I drove that car for another four years with the same engine. I'm betting I paid a lot less than I would have for a Beemer too.
The Mazda in the first clip is now scrap. Getting a new motor for one of those is near impossible. They all explode in the same manner. The only way to do it is to send it out and pay $5,000 to have it rebuild. And even then, they don't make the oil pan gasket anymore. So it's junk.
I wonder if the guy that wore the mask to repair the bio-toxic car also placed a small square of Plexiglas in front of him, too. You know- safety first.

If not the result of someone's prank never being undone after all it might just be "how things are" and no on would think a tape measure would be under the mat. After all how many people actually would look under it.
Ha. My car gave me a message about overheating about two months ago. Pulled right over. There was no indication of overheating except the message. Tried again after it cooled and managed to get home the mile or so. Part of my motivation in having it towed in for servicing was to ensure that it wouldn't end up on this channel with the narration, "so, numbnuts kept driving the car anyway and now needs a new engine".

I've been accused of over tightening a drain plug and my ratchet is 12" long. I don't know what other people were using to try and get it off.

2:38 in my country bringing the car for inspection half that dirty is an automatic fail. They won't bother inspecting it, as it's a health hazard.
