As a kid I was lonely, nobody at school wanted to talk to me because of several reasons but I found Batman and he showed me that I could be kind in a world that was cruel and that sometimes being a light in darkness is okay. I loved Reeves' Batman because it finally showed the Batman that I saw in those books as a kid. Bruce Wayne is troubled but at the end of the day his mission is to make sure to save Gotham and I love Reeves' Batman. I loved the prewrite Troy it sounds like such a fun idea.

The Batman is easily my favorite live action Batman film. That being said, I really, really hope they don’t shy away from the comic booky stuff in the sequels. The Nolan movies really burned me out on the idea of “what if Batman existed in the real world?”
I want Poison Ivy to have plant powers, I want Clayface to be a man made of clay. I don’t need a big interconnected DC universe to spin out of this, but I would like for this to be a world where Superman and the Justice League could exist. I think the Arkham games are a good template for telling grounded, character-driven Batman stories without doing away with the more fantastical elements of the character.
Oh, and I want Batman to sword fight Ra’s Al Ghul in the desert while shirtless but keeping his cowl on. That’s Batman.

Imo that's a recipe for a poorly written villain. You could replace them with a freak weather event and the story wouldn't change at all. They need to have beliefs, and these beliefs should be shown through their actions, and these actions should challenge the beliefs of the hero in same way. Having a villain that does crazy shit because "I'm so chaotic and quirky lol" leads to a meaningless and forgettable story. But that's just my two cents.

I think the number one thing The Batman 2 needs is Robin, and Dick Grayson specifically. Not only would he perfectly fit into the arc for Bruce that the first movie set up but if Matt Reeves ends up going the route of the Court of Owls it would be a massive mistake not to have one of the most important characters in that story

I'd prefer it if Hush's personal decision is to derail Bruce Wayne much to the opposition of the Court, so he works for them and crushes Gotham's hopes which makes Bruce Wayne's sudden altruism the golden goose for the Court and their manipulations but Hush takes it on as a secret side mission to take the body parts he needs to look like Bruce Wayne.

I like your idea of Hush, but a Clayface works even better for the angle that you're tackling. Love the video, by the way.
    He's a better angle for 2 reasons;
    1) His occupation as an actor could work to set up a 'performative activism' that could work really well, in contrast to Bruce's arc and development. 2) His body horror-esque abilities could work well with Bruce working on his interpersonal skills and trust on his allies and the general population of Gotham (like Spider - Man 1 moment with the bridge). I would love to hear your thoughts..
Also, I do think further exploring the martial law aspect to Gotham could be great to introduce Renee Montoya as Gordon's partner and eventually her successor by being either destroying the existing force or be the Question as she, too, was inspired by Batman as a symbol of hope.
I do think the assassin angle that you provided with, could help introduce Cassandra Cain to the fold. With her backstory and her interpretation of the Bat symbol, I think she'll make for an interesting first Robin than the usual first Robin we usually associate with. I think her father, David Cain, could be a bridge to connect to the Court more organically.

One entity no matter how corrupt, CAN NOT be ALL BAD. I like that cop who tells batman what the carpet tool was and who greets Bruce Wayne at the funeral.. was also the only one who stepped up and put his hand on batman's chest to stop him as "it was a crime scene" and he wasn't technically allowed there until Gordon said so. and he was willing to get beat up while everyone else just watched... Gordon can not be the ONLY GOOD cop that's too unrealistic. So after multiple murders, and getting so close to solving a big case, Falcone audio getting in news... they were willing to stand with GORDON and BATMAN to do the right thing.. BATMAN isn't fighting the entire GOTHAM. HE's fighting the corrupt, bad, Gotham for the safety and betterment of Few GOOD people still living in Gotham that includes COPS. and also, Bad guys thinking they own the shit, until they don't, until there is a chance, then even those who won't say anything will stand up if they know they are not alone. So yes, cops were silent and knew of corruption but clearly.. even some cops were shocked by riddler's revelations, "ignorance is bliss" i guess.. and same with bad guys, until no one interrupted them, coz all the big players were in the pocket, they didn't care about smaller cops who were good, coz "ignorance is bliss" hence, "the whole system needs to change". Also like Catwoman pointed out, "it isn't a choice for everyone" so some corrupt cops were also corrupt coz commissioner himself was in the pocket. That's why I didn't like that you mention Batman doesn't give the kid to gordon coz he doesn't trust cops. i think. he should have a trusting relationship with few low level cops who provide him intel with things they feel helpless about, that they can't do themselves coz of corruption. and after maybe 2 movies in 3rd when we see one or more of these recurring "good cops" die as collateral or someone trying to cut out the weed, (that. is a reversal) bad guys killing out the few good cops, it becomes personal for Gordon and Batman and US. We don't always need a kid, for a banter and to show care. But that's just my take. Yours was good too. but i hope more people thinking about how to implement what we are actually shown in the movie than, dismissing what they didn't like, to create a pre-write. (no hate tho, just an opinion). Much love.. sorry it's a big comment, got carried away. Hope you consider this and make a alternate pre-write. maybe/maybe not. bye. 🦇

Paul Dano and Matt Reeves did an incredible job with a character that kind of had a stereotypical rep of being a bit wacky, and turning them into something completely grounded and terrifying. Here’s my pitch for The Batman 2
The title would be Batman Duo
The opening scene would have Batman saving some people from Killer Croc, establishing how the criminals of Gotham are changing since Falcone and the Riddler incident. The mobster are losing their place in Gotham while the “freaks” (the weird insane villains) are rising to power.
Much like in the previous movie, the plot would be a detective noir story, with Batman trying to find a mysterious killer who targets street girls, causing him to gain the nickname Gotham’s Ripper (reference to Jack the Ripper). Meanwhile, there would be a sub plot about Batman dealing with a new crime boss who is trying to take over Penguin territory and become Gotham’s new crime boss. In one of this attempts his gang would cause the death of the Flying Grayson, resulting in Bruce adopting their son Dick Grayson and, as the two bond and become friends, he decides to train the kid, turning him into his partner Robin.
Batman's decision to accept Dick Grayson as his sidekick would cause some drama between him and Alfred, who would belive that in insanity to allow a 16/17 old boy to get involved in a dangerous life. This would be the dillema for Batman in the movie, with him question if he's doing the right thing by allowing Dick Grayson to become Robin, dealing with his insecurites and fears that he might not be the ideal father figure to Dick, afraid to be a bad influence for the kid just like he was for the Riddler and his men. This is where movie would introduce Leslie Thompkins, a friend of Bruce's parents and she reveals to Bruce that his father also went through similar situations, helping the hero realize that he can be a good father/mentor for Dick and allow the boy to become not just hero like him but a better one.
After some investigation, Batman and Robin would find out a connection between this new crime boss and the Gotham’s Ripper, deducting their identities: The Mad Hatter and the Ventriloquist & Scarface, The two villains were actually working together, with Mad Hatter creating new drug for the Ventriloquist and, as payment for the product, the crime boss gives the girls so the Hatter can control them, wanting to turn the girls into his Alice, his girlfriend who died during the battle between Batman and Riddler in the end of the last movie (If one the girls refuse to act as his Alice, Mad Hatter freaks out and kills her, feeling regret for doing it then ask the Ventriloquist to find another victim).
In the end, the dynamic duo defeats the two villains (or three if we count Ventriloquist and Scarface as two characters) and they are send to Arkham, where they would meet the Joker and other inmates. The movie ends with the revelation that, without the villains knowing, they are all being watch by a mysterious man in the shadows.

They definitely shouldn't go along the lines of "gotta wait x hours before we can consider them a missing person," especially when it's kids, because a) that isn't how it actually works, that's just a movie/tv thing (that should die) and b) it'd be astoundingly stupid to respond to missing persons reports by waiting for x hours to pass. Cops get on that shit immediate (in theory) irl, so they should do the same in a movie or tv. It doesn't actually change the plot at all. Need them missing for 48 hours before batman gets involved? Fine, they look for 48 hours on their own, figuring there's so many missing persons they can't get batman for every single one. Then, after 48 hours, they call him. Or else you could just skip the 48 hours and say "hey, bats, kids missing, go look" and do the exact same story you were going to do without mentioning they sat on they asses for two days twiddling they thumbs hoping he'd just turn up before they can go and try to find the child who is missing and whose family wants to have back very badly. This isn't a complaint specifically about your pitch, it's about this cliched trope that is so profoundly stupid and unnecessary.
Why is Bruce leaving a kid who was only just minutes of screen time ago rescued from a hostage situation alone outside a fresh crime scene directly related to the kid's disappearance with surrounded by suspicious circumstances? Bad idea. Just have him cover the kid's eyes and walk him into the house.
The hypnosis and heightened fighting abilities from said hypnosis is kinda whack. I like that there's a different Hush background though, so I'll vibe with it.
For a movie mostly grounded in reality, a grenade doing that much damage is weird. Just put a bigger explosive there, like TNT.
The Court of Owls is an excellent villain, but I don't know that it is the right pick to introduce just yet. Maybe in another movie, but we just had batman taking down the rich elites running the city through corruption and secret guile. More of the same would likely lead to stagnation in the franchise. Introduce them in the third or fourth movie (assuming a fourth exists).

    Title: Fear of the Batman
Opening: We open on a family of performers getting ready for a circus show.
Act 1: Batman is rebuilding the city after the flood and gets interviewed by the news. His interview is interrupted by Gordon who calls him to watch over the Graysons who are reportedly targeted by Jonathan Crane played by Johnny Depp. We cut to the Graysons performing when a gas bomb blows up and things go wrong. Dick Grayson’s father murders his wife in front of Dick then kills himself. Bruce arrives at the scene, but it’s too late, Dick is on the ground bawling his eyes out. Bruce takes Dick on a ride in the Batmobile and goes to Arkham Asylum to interrogate the Riddler. “Did you do this?” “Do what?” “You know, kill this kid’s parents!” The Riddler laughs. “Looks like you two have a lot in common.” “Tell me! Did you kill them?” “No! Of course not. But there is someone who might have.” “Who?” “Jonathan Crane.” “Jonathan Crane?” “Yes, he’s a doctor who uses this gas to set fear into people.” Dick asks “Gas? What color?” “Green” “Oh no, that’s him, that’s why my dad killed my mom.” Bruce asks “Okay, who can help us?” “Dr. Hugo Strange”
Act 2: Bruce and Dick drive to Hugo Strange’s house to ask him for help. “Batman?! Get out of my house!” “We need help about Jonathan Crane.” “Crane? I know some stuff about him, but no. I’m not getting involved.” “Please, your help can save hundreds of lives.” “Okay, follow me.” They go back to Arkham and sneak around asking everyone about Crane. Hugo Strange goes to Crane’s office with nothing but a scalpel to protect himself. They fight, but Crane throws a bomb at him and Strange runs around the asylum. Bruce sends Dick to try and save Hugo while he chases Crane. Bruce inhales the gas and sees bats across the city. Jonathan Crane disappears into thin air and Bruce runs over to Hugo who is seizing. Bruce and Dick rush him back to the Batcave and Alfred tries to save Hugo’s life. Hugo wakes up and explodes the Batcave.
Act 3: Bruce saves everyone in the Batcave, but one of them is missing, Hugo. The Batsuit and Batmobile are also nowhere to be seen. Hugo in the Batsuit visits with Crane. “You ready?” “Yes! It’s time for Gotham’s reckoning.” Hugo shows up at city hall with a speech to trick all of Gotham. Selina and Bruce team up. Dick gets a suit and steps into battle. Bruce drives up to Crane to see him about to run away. Bruce without his suit runs over and fights against Crane in an epic battle. Crane, almost dying, tells Hugo to abandon the mission as Crane and Bruce continue to fight. Selina holds Strange at gunpoint and shoots him. Bruce rushes Crane to Arkham and reveals himself to Selina.
Credits: Joker sees Barbra Gordon and smiles while staring at her.

His wife contracted a disease so he froze her to keep her alive, but he accidentally caught some of it himself. So he keeps himself really cold, but not cold enough for him to not be able to move, but so that the disease is slowed. This Mr. Freeze is not at all a physically imposing villain but his mind would be his most important weapon. Maybe the lab that he works at doesn't have the chemicals he needs so goes around stealing chemicals needed for cryogenics. In the process he kills people by freezing them to death.

First, you can have Killer Croc, but I would make him more of a deformed human before he mutates into a monster: just some scales here and there with slight hints of reptilian features. At first, I wasn’t a fan of you including him here, but he is often used as an enforcer, so it makes sense someone would hire him.
Second, the third act gets a bit packed. We already have Hush, and now we’re introducing a whole syndicate of villains, for supposedly the next film? Also, it makes the twist of “what’s really happening with the hypnosis” thing kinda anti-climatic.

The Court of the Owls as this mysterious force that could really play into the detective angles and whatnot, and could certainly be a overarching villain. But I also can't help but think of a villain perfect for Batman on a very personal level, a mirror to how angry and vengeance driven Batman was initially, the Red Hood.

It is my dream that through all of these movies, joker is a character who appears in one scene, whether that be in the movie proper or in the end credits, but never gets his own movie.

I love the idea of this current iteration of live action Batman having more emphasis on the detective aspect. Whether or not that actually happens with Hush and/or The Court of Owls, I hope it happens regardless

So I’m like a year late but I think it would be really cool if the kid we saw in the clown gang in the first movie was Dick, the kid who half his face had makeup. I think it’d be cool if we saw him a bit more in the future films then him being Dick Grayson would be a big reveal. Maybe after his parents were assassinated he was homeless and alone till that clown gang took him in and that’s why he feels obligated to take part in their crimes.

Something I'd like to see them do, and this would be a little detail maybe shown in news articles or an opening montage, is if in the wake of the Riddler's attack he inspired other criminals to take on supervillain type personas, but rather than being genuinely effective criminals they're completely incompetent, giving us the goofy C-list and D-list villains from the comics.
It would be a fun way to give cameos to characters like Killer Moth or Condiment King who in this universe have their colorful comic accurate costumes, but they're literally made up of tights and cheap fabrics (sort of like what the Marvel Disney+ shows did with comic accurate looks for Wanda, Vision and Loki, just a bit more washed out to fit the environment of Gotham). It would be a fun nod to the 60's show with their goofy designs and they'd be more of a nuisance to Batman rather than actual threats, however they'd be illustrative of the wider problem of actual supervillain threats increasing, as you highlighted Killer Croc would be a great example.
Typically people make fun of how a lot of goofier comic book characters would never work in films, only for them to get adapted into really great charters (basically everything we've seen James Gunn do), so it'd be fun if in this universe didn't change them and simply acknowledged they'd be terrible criminals.
I'm going into all this detail for what would be a briefly addressed joke, but I think it'd be a fun way to expand the already very alive feel of Gotham without making it overly comedic. Saying that seeing as we basically got Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dumb in this new film, I don't see why the Terrible Trio couldn't get a cameo as three random criminals in animal masks, could be goofy and creepy at the same time.

IMO the court of owls needs to be something that Batman discovers late in his career, it works best when Bruce thinks he knows everything about Gotham, Dick Grayson is now nightwing, he's lost Jason Todd but then he discovers this secret society which has been orchestrating everything and it shakes him to his core.

Clayface is cool but I don’t think it would fit the realistic aspect of Matt Reeves Batman unless they just stay faithful to the villain and his supernatural abilities.

So far I like everything in this fan write, except the “colored suit”….please god no blue or flashy yellow. If anything I’ll be fine with the iconic gray and black with the dark slightly gold utility belt. Also keep the next film a noir detective movie at heart.

I don't care about the blue so much but I think adding some yellow (like outlining the symbol) would help to distinguish Bruce's new outlook on himself and as Batman. Also I need purple gloves.

@@troyoboyo17 I agree, I feel like the artist should try and maintain that rugged Bat suit look, but with slight improvements. Im gonna assume the next movie is gonna be a year after the first riddler events, year 3 still is Batman is still super early in his career. And we still need to see Harvey Dent at some point.

I love the blue personally, and I know that it’s not great for a lot of people, but we haven’t had a live action blue bat suit in over half a century. I don’t think a BRIGHT blue suit would work for this universe, but navy blue would be nice.
