Imo, everything about this rewrite was awesome except for Gwen. Gwen and her interactions with Pete are the single thing that made both TASM movies amazing, despite the poor writing and company interference. Here you just made her remind me of Kirsten Dunst's MJ. If she for real told Peter that they need to break up because she got into one dangerous situation, it would make their entire relationship from the 1st movie a lie. It makes no sense and tbh kinda ruins her as a character.
I loved this whole rewrite. You captured the feeling that I feel was missing in the MCU spider movies. Spider man helps not just the world, but also helps the little guys too. I mean the little guy in this rewrite is more like a sparky guy but you get what I mean.
i honestly didn’t like this rewrite… introducing mj felt unnecessary, there’s alot of filler up too, and black cat also felt unnecessary, could’ve been better
I'm working 3 jobs atm as well as trying to be a musician in this chaotic time. I cried during the speech Peter gave to Electro. Right here, this channel, these characters is why we need superheroes now more than ever. Much love.
I think that ending the first amazing Spider-Man film with that swing in the moonlight, and then starting this one with a new suit and daylight swinging would’ve been a perfect idea. Shame they only did part of that.
I listened to the audio commentary, suspiciously not including director Marc Webb by the way. Just a few writers and producers. According to them, they wanted to open the movie in a completely different way compared to most superhero movies. In fact they even admit they intentionally shot it to look like a standard action scene. Yeah, terrible idea.
@@RobiticDuck Yeah they really didn’t need to think that hard. I mean if you cut out that whole Jason Bourne action scene you already have the perfect opening. Being different doesn’t mean it’s good, guys.
10/10 is reaching lol... he turned a Spider-Man Villain into a side kick essentially. Not enough stakes in this version. Still better than what we got originally though
I really like this story, I love what you did with Electro, and with black cat. Some constructive criticism: I feel like the story with Gwen in the original and I think maybe this remake of the movie could do without the mj scene, maybe hold that off for the future maybe having the 3rd movie focus on Peter's grief of Gwen and going through it with the sinister 6 setup and with Peter at his low the movie exploring (spoiler to no way home) his dark phase, he stops pulling his punches , makes a lot of mistakes. At the cost of lives. The next movie follows after the events of no way home, explaining how the spell affects his universe, he calls back to the movie a couple times maybe. It would be fun to then introduce mj. After everything, Peter can still find love, there's hope.
That opening with Stan Lee hit hard, man. I'm glad he realized how much he affected the world, and that he was happy as an entertainer of the people. We miss you Stan
@@troyoboyo17 Hey, I'm surprised you wrote Mary Jane into your story. :) Because Mary jane WAS actually going to be in the actual film and played by Shailene Woodley before all her scenes were cut on account of Emma Stone. :( There were actual onset photos of her as well.

I love, “With a Big Wheel.” Edit: I just finished the whole video and oh my God! That was an Amazing Spider-Man story. You managed to keep the true themes of Spider-Man while having a compelling story at the same time. Props to you, man! Keep it up!
Tbh, I really like your rewrite. Many rewrites of TASM 2 are pretty different. Yours is SPECIAL, UNIQUE, because it personally touched me right in the chest. I really like how your interpretation of Electro is more relatable imo than a generic ridiculous villain. The rewrite too really keeps the TASM series as it should be. It's... *sigh* I honestly don't know what to say lmao. All I could say is that. It's a beautiful video and I cried a little bit. Just, great.
It fits the theme it was headin for.. realistic, dark, deep, and meaningfull.. they got the best cast on this movie for shore.. andrew is amazing, emma stones chemistry is unbeatable with anybody else, jamie is such a loving character and would be perfect for a sympathetic villain, dehaan is.. wow hes just such an amazing actor i mean have yall seen chronicles?? Man, it gives me goosebumps, and too include flash is actually amazing and impressive since he was a classic bully but to add the note that his relationship with peter is growing beautifully and naturally from the 1st film. Honestly props to marc for trying his best.. his films rlly shows taht he cares for character and their arc, also their relationship which why his adaptation felt more chemistry then raimis version. Either way both of them got fucked by sony. If only they were free to take the projects themself and not have sony interfere.. we couldve got and amazing take on spiderman 3. Or if that still fails, we couldve got a release on spiderman 4. It wouldve resulted in tobeys version that is succesfull and believe me they did if not for sony shitting on them. AND if tobeys version still fails and have andrew to take over the adaptation and ALSO learning from past mistakes.. sony shouldve not interfiered with anything and let them do their jobs.. his adaptation wouldve been amazing and they dont have to do a reboot onntom holland again. (adding to the note that andrews writing is too much) I also would like if sony gave andrew another chance and continued tasm 3 even though its kinda hard seeing them together again. They wasted so much on him and even if he doesnt have a trilogy, i wouldve like him to show up in future spiderman relater franchises like maybe tom hardy's venom or a new take on miles morales. Its just sad seeing him with a shit of a duology. and tobey got his legendary trilogy and holland is starting a new fucking trilogy.. if i wouldve ranked them fully, i wouldve gone with the same direction as their timeline. So tobey comes 1st, andrew 2nd for his failed tasm trilogy project unfortunately, and holland comes out last cuz his adaptation just feels less of a spiderman.
just wanted to add something. your rewrites have this amazing, homely element to it. They feel so personal, and so character-focused, which I really appreciate and I really believe that is the approach comic-book superheroes should take. Also, your third acts and epilogues in all your rewrites are super fantastic. I was really getting some kind of spider-man Blue vibes when you were talking about the party at Harry Osborn's new apartment in the 3rd act. Minor Nitpick though. I always feel your stories lack a bit of tension and urgency in terms of the antagonist. For your superman story pitch, it actually worked because superman is that iconic, legendary type of character who really deserved that kind of human story. For this particular rewrite, I really didn't feel that there was enough of an antagonist. And I dont necessarily mean as a physical villain. I mean even an overlooming guilt or something, I am sorry I cant articulate it better. Peter being confused about what spiderman really means to people is, in my opinion, not strong enough to be the ONLY overarching hurdle in a story. but other than that, fantastic work and I am recommending it to all my friends to watch.
I find it hilarious that Andrew Garfield’s Peter feels like if a teenage Tony Stark got bit by a radioactive spider. A lot cooler, smoother, cocky and slightly arrogant. And then Tom Holland’s Spider-Man feels like if Peter became Iron Boy instead of Spider-Man.
Yes! Maybe thats why i loved tasm so much, it finally felt like when he was a superhero, he got the recognition he deserved! In the mcu kinda spider-man we have so much heroes that peter cannot be this big one who people look up to. As if he’s just another superhero in this world, which imo sucks.
@@lucasaranagy5767 I think they're trying to slowly build Spider-Man up as his own hero. This is just the beginning of his journey and yea the execution kinda sucks (ngl) but hopefully his next trilogy will be him finally stepping into his own. Literally one of my favorite stories of Spider-Man. I'm being dead serious when I say this made me tear up and I can't explain how much I adore this story. I love it. You did amazing. I so wished that that THIS was the story we got.
I know this movie was a lot worse because it was shoving in so many Easter eggs but I wouldn’t mind. quick mention of Matt Murdock as the lawyer who got Max a psychiatric treatment instead of a life sentence?
not sure they could have done that legally at the time but it would have been good world building, showing that spider-man isnt the only hero of that universe
that would have been fantastic. Maybe a pan shot where we dont actually hear or see matt but they mention him as the blind lawyer guy who was damn useful. MAN FUCK. #SAVEDAREDEVIL
That Miles Morales add in gave me goosebumps. Kinda makes me sad, this was such a great rewrite and I would’ve loved for it to go down this way because I much as I like Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield was just sooooo greatZ

@@Mirrorcomics24 and its still better than the goddamn tasm 2 movie💀like no shit i cried on this video and it aint even an actuall movie ffs its a masterpiece. Shame on sony for fucking up everything. The reason why spiderman 4 isnt out, its because of sony. The reason why andrew became the rebooted spiderman is because sony fucked up tobey. BUT, they couldve done something like this instead of shitting on marc webb that ended on rebooting another spiderman (tom holland). Tbh ion rlly like holland's spiderman. They rlly took out everything that makes spiderman, well spiderman. And im rlly sad on andrew cuz andrew's version couldve been EVERYTHING. Hes perfect. My opinion on tobey, hes a classic i mean u cant get over spiderman 2 cant ya its litterally iconic and a masterpiece. But again, sony interfiered with spiderman 3 and resulted on a big fail and they blamed it on raimi.. raimi even took the blame and planned to make spiderman 4 to redeem his big fail with spiderman 3. Again, he canceled it due to him feeling that hes unable to make it on time. Its a sad parting on the trilogy considering 2 of the movies are succesfull but fucking sony messes up everything (fuck u avi rad). Hed rather just cancel it instead of reliecing it bcuz hes afraid that this one wouldnt meet their expectation even though it could been better that spidsrman 3, it wouldnt match CLOSE with spiderman 1 and 2. Rlly shows what kind of a filmaker he is. He rlly cares about his work. Back to andrew, dang hes honestly couldve been the perfect adaptation/reboot. Unlike other ppl, i actually like andrews take on peter. Screams more teenager than tobeys akward nerd even though its still iconic. One of the factor that mcu spiderman failed to do. Man and andrews arc where he started on revenge but slowly using his abilities for good instead.. 1st movie got me goosebumps especially with his acting skills. That why andrews my fav, hes passion on acting brings everything together, unlike tobey (no offense) whos acting kiiindaa fell flat to me. Im rlly sad they fucked up on andrews movie (BECAUSE STUDIO INTERFERIENCE) and its all on sony to blame. Also the fact that they shit on him so much.. i rlly hope theyr on tasm 3 rn cuz tasm 3 couldve been a redeem on andrews take.. if not, just release the cuts we got on tasm 3 so were not left off andrew smashing a sewer cap on rhinos fuckin head. Talking about the Flash part, there's a deleted scene where he says goodbye to Peter and Gwen in the graduation day scene which would've been amazing to feature but nope, aperently a 3 minute pretty much remake scene from the last movie with a pointless airplane fight and also the message he says in that scene is repeated/extended later in the movie

Is GR-3314 an Easter egg or something? The 33 isn't a date, but Amazing Spider-Man #33 is one of the most recognizable Spider-Man comic book covers with Spider-Man lifting up rubble and the water dripping down and it was the 2nd comic after Harry being the new goblin and Amazing Spider-Man #14 was when we were first introduced to the Green Goblin?
I wasn't prepared to hear Stan Lee talk in the beginning, and I found myself smiling so hard. I really love this dude and everything he gave to us. Spider-Man is half the reason I'm still mentally stable. May he rest in peace
I did not expect to almost cry at a rewrite of 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2', yet having a scene like 35:16 / 37:06 during my teenage years (when this movie had come out for me) would have meant so much to me and have given me a scene for me look back on and revisit when my future had become filled with so much trauma and uncertainty. It would have shown that despite what my circumstances were or what negative habits I had picked up to cope didn't mark me a lost cause, that deep down inside there was still hope for me despite the then-current outlook of my life.
Very nice video. A lot of effort was put into this and was scaled back to being more of a personal story with characters like Max Dillion or Peter having some private pain that they somehow have to work out publicly. However, I have my own idea for what the movie could be. Using bits and elements from Unusual Suspects review and Kevin Fiege's notes about the movie. The movie would actually start off in Oscorp and we meet Max Dillion and his older brother and we get a sense that he really looks up to him because he's the older one that solves the problems first and makes Max less awkward when he's around. At one point, a freak accident occurs, maybe something technical or a villain showing up. Spider-Man shows up and tries to save and evacuate everyone but Max and his brother who hold on for dear life and they both get electrocuted. His older brother dies but Max survives and like your version, his powers go crazy through his emotions but with rage. I also feel Electro could look a lot creepier like a translucent thin, bony man with glowing pulsing veins with electrical charges going through his exposed heart glowing blue with power and his skeleton shown underneath his transparent flesh. And unlike the real movie where Max hates Spider-Man for being jealous of not being the center of attention, here he blames Spider-Man for his brother's death. He isn't a weird nerdy fanboy but a social civilian who accidentally became a bitter victim all because Spider-Man couldn't save everyone. Have scenes of him grieving on his brother's death and show a flashback of his older brother standing up for him by a bully and again show how close he was to him and he uses his powers and anger to try to act like his older brother. Now, I would still keep Harry Osborn in the movie but he's played more sympathetic with him dealing with a disease and before the title, see a flashback of the dying Norman telling Harry about the disease when he was a little younger, which implies Harry's had this goblin disease for a while and wants to find a cure before it becomes Stage 4. I have two alternate ways this would go down about Peter giving his blood. 1.) He refuses to give it to Harry because his blood is too dangerous and Harry's disease worsens. OR he actually does give him his blood and this causes Harry's disease to accelerate and the movie ends on a cliffhanger with Harry transforming into the Green Goblin with red eyes, rotted brown teeth, chipped grey lips pointed chipped ears, a witch-like nose, green skin loss of hair and green lots of cuts all over his face. (Like Regan from The Exorcist.) And because Harry lives at the end of the real movie, you know they still would've set him up for a future movie so just save him as Green Goblin in the next movie when we see him in his fantasy black and purple armor with cables and wires all over his body. I would maybe try to squeeze in MJ if we are going to trim a lot of the movie's sideplots. Maybe MJ just moved in next door and befriends Peter and Aunt May. I'd also have Mary Elizabeth Winstead as MJ instead of Shailene Woodley since she's a better actress, has a better sense of humor that would jell with Andrew's and she looks almost identical to the look of the comics whenever she has red hair in a movie. I also felt Gwen's death wasn't needed because it would be a repeat of the last movie's ending. But if Gwen HAD to die, I'd have her be killed by Electro instead, going back with the motivation for revenge, Max had to lose someone close to him so he'd get even by making Spider-Man share that same pain of being alone. Taking Harry's motivation in the real movie and replacing it with Max, who actually has a reason to kill Gwen and at the end, MJ feels sorry for Peter losing Gwen and he's happy someone like her is there for him when he has nobody to be there. Not even his Aunt who's always gone at work at the hospital. That way, the third movie could expand their friendship to a natural relationship and maybe she learns Peter's identity in the next movie or a 4th if Sony took the time in this series. And this is where you can have Peter's redemption from No Way Home and he saves MJ at one point by Green Goblin. Yes, my ideas don't follow the comics all that well but movies are NOT just carbon copies of their source material, they're adaptations, and the ending probably wouldn't be as predictable if it was in the movie itself and it could be a nice and new take on the Death of Gwen Stacy. I would also take out a lot of the plots in the final film obviously, like the parent sideplot could be pushed for the third movie as the conclusive reveal to Peter's past, take out Gwen, going to Oxford, Oscorp going against Harry with Max's freak accident and the Sinister Six set up. I also feel the tone should be a little closer to the first movie. Yes, TASM2 was colorful, and upbeat but it also feels disconnected to the first one and feels like a completely different universe made by a different director. I also think while the suit is 100% perfect and is actually my favorite, I do want to add a bit of the first suit in there for continuity like the same colors, and design patterns on the arms but still have large lenses that are more like multicolored lenses like sunglasses. Then, the third movie would be the suit from TASM2 as the complete transition. Here, it would be an in-between design.

This fixes the continuity issue in Spiderman NWH in which Max never actually found out about Peter's identity
Maybe harry knew Peter is spiderman from them in the apartment and told electro who spiderman is
I like how this rewrite was more of a connection than a conflict for Spider-Man and Electro. This was beautiful man 10/10!

After everything, Peter can still find love, there's hope.
i love that idea but i dont know if i can handle andrew's peter being with someone other than emma's gwen
Maybe there needs to be universe where he marries gwen stacy instead of mj

(adding to the note that andrews writing is too much)
I also would like if sony gave andrew another chance and continued tasm 3 even though its kinda hard seeing them together again.
Peter being confused about what spiderman really means to people is, in my opinion, not strong enough to be the ONLY overarching hurdle in a story. but other than that, fantastic work and I am recommending it to all my friends to watch.
the monologue you wrote for peter to say to electro literally broke my heart and made me cry. this rewrite is amazing.
He needs to direct the next spider man trilogy
